Truth or Tradition? 5 Common Biblical Misconceptions Debunked

Have religious traditions robbed you of living a victorious life? Find out if you’ve been believing truth or tradition.

READING TIME: 9 MINUTES

“Grandma taught it, and we bought it.” That’s a saying Kenneth Copeland has shared many times when teaching the Word of God. When it comes to many firmly held beliefs in the Church today, you could also say, “The Church taught it, and we bought it.”

Somewhere along the way, people have leaned too heavily on the Church to do the spiritual legwork for them when it comes to understanding and applying God’s Word to their lives.

Misinterpretations have led to traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation, ultimately robbing people of the truth in God’s Word.

Jesus warned us about the dangers of traditions more than once.
In Mark 7:13 (GW), He said, “Because of your traditions you have destroyed the authority of God’s word.” The New Living Translation says, “You cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition.” That’s dangerous business!

When Jesus said, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees” (Luke 12:1), He was referring to their hypocrisy that came from a loyalty to their traditions over and above God.

We need to beware of traditions, too. People don’t even realize they’re living by traditions—they just call them Christianity. The danger is that these traditions have replaced the Word of God. They keep people bound where they should be set free.

Kenneth Copeland sums it up this way: “Tradition always explains why God can’t.”

Have you been living by truth or tradition? Here are five common biblical misconceptions debunked.

1. Truth or Tradition: You Should Always Pray ‘If It Be Thy Will’

“Father, if it is Your will, take this cup from Me.” –Luke 22:42 (NKJV)

“Sometimes God says yes, sometimes He says no, and sometimes He says wait awhile.” In other words, we just can’t know what God is going to do from one situation to the next, so it’s a good idea to tack on “if it be Thy will” to every prayer, just in case.
Truth or tradition?

Many churches teach that we should pray this way because Jesus did, but He only prayed this way once: in Luke 22:42. In most instances, He prayed with boldness and certainty of receiving an answer.

For example, when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He didn’t pray, “Lord, if it be Thy will, bring Lazarus up.” No. He said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me” (John 11:41).

Sadly, this prayer tradition has caused Christians to come to the throne with great uncertainty, rather than with the boldness we’re instructed to have (Hebrews 4:16).

Is it really a big deal to pray this way? Yes. Make no mistake: It is.
When you pray a wobbly prayer like this, you’re becoming the double-minded man who James 1:6-9 says will receive nothing from God. You don’t have to ask if it’s God’s will for you to get a divorce, tell a lie or tithe. It’s already been stated. And you don’t have to ask if it’s His will to heal you.

On this subject, Gloria Copeland says, “‘If it be Thy will, heal me’ will help you die. Many Christians have died before their time praying ‘if it be Thy will.’”

Learn about the 7 Steps to Prayer That Bring Results HERE.

Is this prayer ever appropriate? Of course. You pray this prayer when you don’t have a clear answer regarding your situation and are seeking God’s counsel. But you certainly don’t pray “if it be Thy will” when He’s already told you it is.

It’s time to break this tradition and go boldly to the throne of grace knowing when something is God’s will, and praising and thanking Him for the answer.

Verdict: TRADITION

2. Truth or Tradition: Christians Shouldn’t Be Wealthy

“Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” –Matthew 19:24 (NIV)

Recently, a reporter from a tabloid television show cornered Kenneth Copeland and questioned his belief in Christians living with abundance and wealth. To fuel the conversation, she quoted the single Bible verse referenced above about money (there are over 2,000) as her argument.

This reporter’s claim echoes the voices of those living by tradition in churches around the world: Christians shouldn’t be wealthy—they should live with just barely enough.
Truth or tradition?

It’s pretty common. Pulling one verse from the Bible, misinterpreting it, then using it to judge others. But let’s set the record straight—it’s not OK. That’s the trouble with tradition—it leads to unfounded and mean-spirited judgment. It divides us where we should be united, and it keeps God’s people bound where they should be victorious.

So let’s talk money and what the Bible really says. Here are only a few of the many verses that prove God wants His people blessed financially.

• The Lord is the One who gives you the power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18).
• God takes pleasure in your prosperity (Psalm 35:27).
• God’s blessing will make you rich (Proverbs 10:22).
• When you honor the Lord with money, abundance will come back to you (Malachi 3:10; Proverbs 3:9-10).
• God provides all your needs generously, so you will have money left over to be a blessing to others (2 Corinthians 9:8).

But make no mistake, there are warnings about money, too. The verse we talked about earlier, Matthew 19:24 (NIV), says, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

When the disciples were shocked by what he said and asked who could possibly get into heaven, Jesus replied, “With God all things are possible” (verse 26, NIV).

Find 70 Tradition-Busting Scriptures HERE.

Like in so many other areas, it’s impossible to handle money correctly without God’s help. He never said He didn’t want people to have money. He was saying that it’s going to be tough to stay away from trusting and loving money—it’s a danger to you—but you can do it if you stick close to the Father.

That’s why Jesus told the rich man to give away everything he had and follow Him (Matthew 19:21)—not because he had too much—but because he loved and trusted in money. That’s the area where he was lacking—he hadn’t put the kingdom of God first.

So, when tradition says a Christian shouldn’t be rich, it’s essential to ask how one would define the word rich. We all have our own definitions, but most would agree having more than enough is rich. But who decides what is more than enough?

Watch Gloria Copeland and Pastor George Pearsons teach you why God’s will is prosperity.

Some people gasp at the idea of a Christian living in a 6,000 square foot mansion, but what size, then, is acceptable? 3,000 square feet? 1,000 square feet? Maybe it shouldn’t be a home at all when a trailer or a shack will do, right?

See, it’s a slippery slope when we put ourselves in the seat of judge and jury when it comes to wealth. The underlying spirit behind those who say, “You should be giving that to the poor” is a Judas spirit—greedy, envious and wicked.

You should desire wealth, not only to live in abundance, but to give, give and give some more to promote the gospel and further the Kingdom. The more you get, the more you should be giving. That’s Bible principle.

Verdict: TRADITION

3. Truth or Tradition: God Sometimes Puts Sickness on People

“I am the Lord who heals you.” –Exodus 15:26 (ESV)

With a lot of help from the devil, people came up with the idea that, as Christians, we can glorify God by suffering physical illness or infirmity without complaining, or that God puts sickness on people to teach them something. If that’s the truth, then why are Christians running to the doctor to get treatment and medicine to cure what they think God put on them?

Only the devil gets glory when our bodies are incapacitated. God receives glory when we have the physical strength and health to be of service to His kingdom and a blessing to others.

You can read the New Testament from front to back, and you won’t find any record of God getting praise because someone on a sickbed said they were suffering for Jesus. No, He received praise when someone had a testimony to share with the world (Matthew 15:30-31).

Clearly, it’s healing, not sickness, that glorifies God!

As for teaching us something, He sent His Word to instruct us—not sickness, disease and suffering. To say God makes people sick to teach them something is the equivalent of saying a good parent would push their kid off a bike to teach him something or intentionally allow him to catch an illness for his own good—that’s outrageous!

Sickness is a curse. If you check the master list of blessings and curses in Deuteronomy 28, you’ll find the following listed under curses: sickness, poverty, grief and every kind of trouble. Those are not blessings—they are curses! Yet some people are living by a tradition that those things are somehow God’s blessings.

Sickness and disease are the work of the devil alone. Healing, health and wholeness is God’s will for His people.

Verdict: TRADITION

4. Truth or Tradition: Healing Is Not for Everyone

He healed all the sick among them…” –Matthew 12:15

You may have noticed there isn’t a scripture under this heading. That’s because there isn’t even a verse to twist. It simply isn’t there. In this case, tradition has simply disregarded the long list of scriptures that confirm healing is God’s will for every single believer in Christ Jesus.

Even more, there is not one instance of Jesus refusing to heal someone in the Bible. Matthew 15:30 says, “He healed them all.” God is no respecter of persons. He doesn’t pick and choose who He feels like healing from one day to the next.

Why are some people not healed? Faith opens the door to healing. Sin keeps it closed. There is a process to receiving, but make no mistake, God wants every single one of His people to be well.

Though this tradition has been debunked time and again, there are still those who refuse to believe it. In fact, many get downright angry about it. It can be painful to discover that you haven’t been operating in an area that is within the authority we’ve been given, but it’s far better to make the switch than cling to a destructive tradition!

Watch Kenneth Copeland teach you why it is always God’s will to heal.

It’s never God’s will for you to be sick. He wants every believer healed every time.

Verdict: TRADITION

5. Truth or Tradition: God Is In Control of Everything

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”—James 4:7 (KJV)

Years ago, there was some legislation passing through the California State Legislature that would mandate the teaching of homosexuality in public classrooms beginning in kindergarten. (This was well before this was a common issue.) A Christian couple who worked there shared the concern with their Bible study and encouraged the group to pray over the matter and vote in the upcoming election.

Instead, the group seemed complacent. Rather than taking a stand, praying and resisting the work of the devil, the members dismissed the concern saying, “God would never let that happen.” Well, it did happen and, as you know, much worse is happening today.

If God is in control of everything, He would be to blame for every bad thing. Of this idea, Andrew Wommack says, “To believe that God allows or approves of Satan’s actions defies the logic of James 4:7. It eliminates our responsibility to resist and places ultimate responsibility for everything back on God.”

The tradition that God is in control of everything is a deception, and it is keeping the Church from taking its rightful place of authority and keeping the devil under its feet. Some will even say that God has given the devil permission to wreak havoc on your life. When people believe God allowed them to be sick or live in poverty, they won’t resist it.

It’s time to kill this sacred cow before it destroys the power of God in people’s lives any further.

Yes, God is sovereign. But when He made man, He gave him the power and authority over the earth, and man turned it over to Satan, who has been messing it up with our help ever since. God is a good God. Everything that comes your way is not in the will of God.

Of this tradition, Andrew Wommack also has this to say, “The slickest deception Satan has ever put across, primarily through the Church, is to get people to embrace his work as the work of God.”

Of this tradition, Andrew Wommack also has this to say, “The slickest deception Satan has ever put across, primarily through the Church, is to get people to embrace his work as the work of God.”

Verdict: Tradition

There you have it—5 common biblical misconceptions debunked! Though we’ve proved these are merely traditions, the debate will likely rage on. But you have a choice. If you’ll cast out the traditions of men and latch on to the Word of God, you’ll walk in divine health, abundance and peace all the days of your life. Whenever you hear a tradition or new idea, always ask yourself, “Where is it written?” and consider all the verses together when seeking the Lord for the answer.

Effective Soul-Winning

Here is how to be effective in a powerful way when you tell others about Jesus.

The power of effective soul-winning comes through the Holy Spirit. To activate that power, you must spend time in intercessory prayer and meditation of God’s Word. Boldness comes by taking these steps of preparation. You will not lack for things to say when you’ve filled your heart with the Word and prepared the other man’s heart by interceding and pulling down strong holds that would blind his mind. (2 Corinthians 4:4) The Word will come forth in power as you witness and they will receive.

If the Word is in you, it will make a way out. The Bible says to take no thought of how or what thing you will answer or what you will say because the Holy Spirit will teach you in the same hour what you should say. Acts 1:8 states, “But you will receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me.” As you acquire a thorough knowledge of God’s Word, then your helper and teacher, the Holy Spirit, will bring all things to your remembrance when you need it.

The key to effective soul-winning is not good preaching–IT’S PRAYER. The disciples that followed Jesus’ ministry and saw the results did not ask Him how to preach; they asked Him how to pray. Time must be spent daily in the Word of God and in prayer. Jesus spent many hours doing this before he went to the people to minister. Each time, despite those that came against Him, He had great success. You, too, can have the same success.

Why Your Breakthrough Is Closer Than You Think

Why Your Breakthrough is closer than you think

Have you been searching high and low for your breakthrough? Find out why it’s closer than you think.

READING TIME: 8 MINUTES

Does your breakthrough seem far off in the distance?

Your finances or health have been limping along, and you need a turnaround—quickly. You pray, you plead, you ask others to intercede. Yet, still, that breakthrough doesn’t seem to come one bit closer.

It’s time to consider an important question. Are you looking in the right place?

It’s tempting to look at outside sources or changes as a sign that breakthrough is here, but your victory isn’t out there somewhere—it’s much closer than that. Not closer in time—closer in proximity. In fact, it’s right under your nose.

Like a treasure map, we’re taking you to the place where you can find the victory you need. Here are the reasons why your breakthrough is closer than you think.

1. Your Breakthrough Is Inside, Not Outside

“He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” –1 John 4:4 (ESV)

When you’re pressed for a change—whether in your finances, health or relationships—it’s easy to look where everyone else does—to the world. They offer so many “solutions,” after all.

There’s a medicine for every symptom under the sun, a loan for every financial hardship, and a trendy relationship approach around every corner. But have you ever noticed that these quick fixes don’t always work? At best, they put a bandage on the underlying issue that remains unaddressed—waiting to crop back up again. They don’t get to the root.

They don’t provide what you desire most—BREAKTHROUGH.

A breakthrough means you’ve busted through every barrier and hindrance that’s kept you from achieving the desires of your heart. You’ve completely destroyed the devil’s attempts to steal, kill and destroy. That’s something the world can’t do.

Most Christians agree: God is for us, and God is with us. But how many know and live by the fact that God is in us? John 14:17 (GW) says, “He lives with you and will be in you.” He can’t get any closer than that!

Sometimes, it seems like Christians are searching “out there somewhere” for the power of God. All along, it’s right there with them—in fact, living inside them—waiting to be accessed. What a blessing to know that God is so within reach and that His almighty power is stirring within our spirits, waiting to be activated.

Watch Kenneth Copeland teach you how to become God-inside conscious.

If you’ve been looking to outside sources to fix your body, your marriage or your finances, you’re looking in the wrong place. Your breakthrough is inside you.

The Greater One is in you—and the Spirit of God isn’t passive; He is THE SPIRIT OF POWER! That power is unstoppable, and it never ever fails.

Your breakthrough is closer than you think. But first, you’ve got to become God-inside minded.

E.W. Kenyon said, “For us to become God-inside minded is for us to become victors.”

When you take the time to meditate on the fact that the power of God—the same power that raised Jesus from the dead—is living inside you, your countenance will begin to change. You’ll realize that everything you need to see breakthrough is already in you. All you have to do is release it into your circumstances.

The Greater One lives in you. That’s as close as the power of God can get! Reach out, tap into it and release it into your life.

2. Your Breakthrough Is in Renewing Your Mind

“The kingdom of God is within you.” –Luke 17:21 (NKJV)

If you want to become God-inside minded, it begins with a change in the way you think. People are raised in this world as outside-in people, with the idea that everything I need is out there somewhere. The government has it, my family has it, my boss has it and I need it.

Not if you’re born again.

And especially if you’ve been baptized with the Holy Spirit.

The power to transform your life is inside you. But you have to know it. That’s why your breakthrough comes as you renew your mind and change your spiritual imagery. Learn to see God as your Source—His power and His Spirit living on the inside you—not the world and what it has to offer.

If the kingdom of God is within you, then everything you need is in you—but you have to know a treasure is there to dig it up. You must renew your mind to the fact that you are no longer subject to the curse—lack, sickness, fear, failure, and everything evil or wrong.

The kingdom of God is the kingdom of THE BLESSING: abundance, health, faith, success, and everything good and right. We may be in this world, but we are certainly not of its corrupt system.

We thrive in the midst of serious economic circumstances and flourish in the midst of bad news. We prosper in spite of everything negative going on around us.

Your mind decides who you’ll depend on. If you’re world-conscious, you’ll be looking to the world for answers. If you’re God-inside minded, you’ll begin to depend upon the power of God inside you first and foremost.

Renew your mind and get a revelation of 1 Corinthians 6:19 (NIV) which says, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you?”

With God’s Spirit residing in you, your possibilities are limitless. As you truly realize that, it will make you a fearless warrior and a repeat victor.

3. Your Breakthrough Is in Your Words

“Out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” –Luke 6:45 (NKJV)

When you renew your mind to living inside out, you’ll find your words will begin to line up with that revelation. That’s a good thing because your breakthrough is in your words.

What you believe is what you’ll speak. If you don’t know the power of the living God is inside you—the power that heals, the power that delivers, the power that sets free, the power that reverses poverty and lack—you won’t speak those words into your life.

You see, your words matter. They have POWER, and they frame your world. Mark 11:23 is clear: You’ll have whatever you say. That means what you spoke yesterday is what you have today.

You may not be able to change your circumstances, but you can choose the words you speak. You can change your future because your breakthrough is in your words.

Learn why you can see victory or sink your own ship with your words HERE.

When you say something, you should intend for your words to go and accomplish what you desire. Expect that they are going to come back having accomplished what you sent them to do.

Don’t allow yourself to live outside in. It’s time to live from the inside out! Your words, coming from the power of the Spirit of God inside you, will move mountains.

4. Your Breakthrough Is in Your Spirit

“[Build] yourselves up…praying in the Holy Spirit.”—Jude 20 (NKJV)

There is an answer to your current problem—an answer science can’t come up with, the internet hasn’t solved, and every self-help book in the bookstore is helpless to address.

You’ve tried every medicine, seen more doctors than you can count. You’ve worked to grow your business or ministry, or done everything possible to earn that promotion. You’ve tried to be a better spouse, and you’ve prayed and prayed for your marriage.

Still…things aren’t changing.

If that’s where you are today, your breakthrough is in your spirit. It’s always been there. Everything you’ve ever needed is living there. When you train yourself to be led by the Spirit of God—your inward witness—you’ll hear things you would never have thought of on your own.

That’s what a man from Texas did to see the breakthrough he needed. With only a fifth grade education and having come from a family that lived in poverty, he became a multimillionaire through the leading of the Holy Spirit.

By turning inside to the leading of the Holy Spirit, he made millions on investments and never lost one dime! After being asked by friends about his success, he shared his secret:

“When someone comes along with an idea for an investment, I don’t allow myself to think about it mentally. Instead, I go into my closet and pray. I wait as long as it takes until I hear something. Sometimes it can take as long as three days. I come out for some meals and a little sleep, but mainly I remain quiet and alone with the Lord until I know by an inward witness what I am to do.”

He shared that there were times when an idea seemed like a really good one that would surely bring a return, but his inward witness told him not to invest. At others, it seemed like a dead-end opportunity, but his spirit told him to move ahead and invest. Every single time, he made the right choice.

Following the inward witness gave him special insight into the supernatural and how to become financially prosperous. This man knew the answers to every need or question would never be found from outside sources. He knew everything he needed was on the inside of him.

Learn 4 Ways to Be Led by the Spirit of God HERE.

Praying in the spirit will bring you revelation wisdom and knowledge about your situation. Whatever your need, the Holy Spirit will give you the answer. Quite often, it will be far outside anything your natural mind would have thought of and far different than what the world has advised.

That’s why your breakthrough is in your spirit. As Gloria Copeland says, “Praying in the spirit makes you smarter than yourself.”

You can inquire of things with God and find the answer to any question, any problem you have. The wisdom of God is accessed when you pray in the spirit. It unlocks answers. That’s where the counsel of God is found—inside you.

5. Your Breakthrough Is in Your Love

“Love never fails…”—1 Corinthians 13:8 (NKJV)

Love is THE key to breakthrough. If you need healing—love is the answer. If you need finances—love is the answer. If you need a miracle in your marriage or with your family—love is the answer.

God is Love. He’s living inside you, and Love never fails in any situation. Do you know and believe the love God has for you? Do you believe it enough to trust that His love for you will never fail? Faith for every breakthrough is rooted in knowing and believing the love God has for you (1 John 4:16).

When you have a deep revelation of God’s love for you, it is so much easier to walk in love toward others—in forgiveness, humility and kindness. This puts you in a position to receive all He has for you!

Your breakthrough is in your love. But not just any love—the love of God living on the inside of you.

When you have love, you can move mountains. It’s the love of God inside you—as you rely on and share it with others—that will will cause your breakthrough to come to pass.

6. Your Breakthrough Is in Your Praise

“…all the doors were opened.” –Acts 16:26 (NKJV)

Do you need some doors opened? Your breakthrough is in your praise.

When you’re God-inside minded, you’re focused on Him living in you, and that is something to shout about! Your praise will come forth from the inside out, and you’ll start seeing BIG changes in your life because your breakthrough is in your praise.

Andrew Wommack puts it this way, “Praise isn’t like the caboose that just follows what happens, but it’s more like the engine of a train that makes things happen.”

The devil wants to keep you from thinking about praise while you’re in the process of believing because he knows it’s an important key to breakthrough. Remember when Paul and Silas were locked up in the bowels of a prison? Things looked pretty grim. Most people would be begging and pleading with God to get them out, or considering all the ways they’d served Him and wondering how they could possibly deserve what was happening.

Instead, Paul and Silas “were praying and singing hymns to God” (Acts 16:25, NIV). The result? “All the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose” (verse 26, NIV). All the doors. Every chain. All because of praise and thanksgiving to God.

Where did an earthquake come from that didn’t happen anywhere but in that jail? Earthquakes don’t knock bonds off wrists while leaving a jail intact. Where did it come from? It came out of Paul’s and Silas’ spirits. Praise coming from the inside out.

Your breakthrough is in your praise—coming from the power of the Spirit of God living inside you. It’s in there right now. All you have to do is call it forth and let praise come out of your mouth. The power is there. All you have to do is tap into it.

Your breakthrough is closer than you think—it’s already inside you! Can you see it? When you become God-inside minded, nothing can stop you from taking the victory you’ve been seeking. The desire of your heart is His will for you. The best part is—you’ve already got it!

Watch Kenneth Copeland share the importance of living from the inside out.

A 3-Step Plan for Living From the Inside Out in Any Situation

You Are Meant to Be Debt Free: 5 Ways to Get There Fast

You are meant to be debt free

If you’re done living paycheck to paycheck, making never-ending payments and being subject to lenders, it’s time to make a change! You are meant to be debt free!

Reading Time: 7 Minutes

Imagine yourself completely debt free. No mortgage. No car payment. No credit card debt or student loans.

Seem like just a dream? It doesn’t have to be—and it isn’t out of reach.

No matter how far in debt you are today, God’s will for you is debt freedom. He wants to set you free from the prison of being a servant to the lender, never-ending payments and interest upon interest. He wants you to live in abundance!

Sure, the world has plans to help you get out of debt, but as in everything, God’s way is better—faster—and will ensure you NEVER go into debt again.

You are meant to be debt-free. Here are five ways to get there FAST.

1. Decide to Be Debt Free

Can you really decide to be debt free? Yes! In fact, it’s a requirement for getting there. If you’re up to your eyeballs in debt, you may be thinking, I wish it really were that easy. I really want to be out of debt.

Here’s the key. Wanting to be out of debt and deciding to be debt free are two different things.

How?

No one wants to owe someone a bunch of money and pay interest year after year. But some people have settled for the idea that it’s just the way life is. In their minds, everyone borrows money, everyone has a mortgage, everyone has car payments, so why not just accept it?

But that’s not God’s best. Here’s why.

You are meant to be debt free. Forever. God has said so, over and over in His Word.

But like any spiritual victory, becoming debt free begins with a decision. It may not seem like it’s in your control to even make that decision. It may seem like money is the one calling the shots. But that’s just a lie of the devil. YOU have dominion—you have control by the authority and grace of God. Now, it’s up to you to make a quality decision to live debt free for the rest of your life.

Once you do, you’ll be on the fast track to debt freedom.

If you’re in debt today, Gloria Copeland wants you to know, “You are only one decision away from your debt freedom.”

Decide to be debt free. Decide to start seeing it as not only possible but certain!

Watch Gloria Copeland share the testimony about when she and Kenneth first made the decision to become debt free.

2. Don’t Try to Become Debt Free on Your Own

Right about now, you’re probably thinking, It’s going to take something supernatural to get me out of the debt I’m in.

Perfect. That’s our next step.

One reason so many people feel trapped by debt is that they don’t see a way out. They want to get out of debt, but it seems impossible, so they just give up and keep drudging away at payments that seem never to bring down the total owed.

That’s the sloooow way. To get to debt freedom fast, you’ll need to turn your case over to the Master Financial Advisor—ASAP.

Like most things in life, trying to go it alone usually doesn’t work out. That’s because we were designed to trust, obey, listen to and lean on the Lord God Almighty. He does not want you to try to become debt free on your own. He wants to bring the supernatural to the table and demolish your debt, pour out a blessing on you, and guide you in wisdom in your newfound abundance.

But as long as you’re trying to do things in your own strength, He’s out. Sure, you have your part, but don’t be so focused on your part that you forget to let Him take the lead.

When you surrender (selah, or think, on that word for a moment)…

When you surrender your financial situation to the Lord (lay it at His feet, ask for His help, stop trying to fix everything in your own power), things will start to change. He’ll speak to you about changes you need to make spiritually and financially. He’ll give you revelation wisdom—ideas you never even thought of, but suddenly seem so obvious.

You’ll start to see bills reduced, raises, promotions and money coming from places you weren’t expecting. You’ll begin to see debt freedom.

Even though you were ultimately responsible for getting yourself into debt in the first place, when you repent and turn your heart toward living God’s way, He is so merciful. He will make a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:16-19). He will take the rough places of your life and make them smooth (Luke 3:5).

When you stop trying to become debt free on your own, there will be a day (and it won’t be long) when being in debt will seem like nothing but a distant memory. Your focus will be on becoming a wise steward of the abundance God has given you.

3. Take Small Steps With Big Faith to Be Debt Free

Now, just because you’re leaning on the Lord doesn’t mean you’re doing nothing at all. God provided miracle upon miracle to deliver the Israelites from Pharaoh, but He required something of Moses to get the miracle moving.

In Exodus 14, the Israelites have fled their oppressors, and the Egyptians are hot on their trail with intent to do harm. Moses is trusting God for deliverance, but things aren’t looking good. He gets all the way up to the Red Sea (the end of his own ability), and it seems like the Israelites’ options have run out.

Then, God gives an instruction. “Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea” (verse 16). The rest is history. Total deliverance, miracles, supernatural intervention and…victory! And it was FAST.

That’s how it works. God is looking for cooperation—obedience that comes from faith. God didn’t tell Moses to solve the problem himself or conquer the sea on his own.

He only asked that Moses take a small step fueled by big faith to release power into his situation.

That’s what your role needs to look like in your pursuit of debt freedom. Take small steps with big faith to see the promised result. God has commanded that you “owe no man anything but to love” (Romans 13:8).

Here are some small steps with big faith you can take to release the power of the supernatural on your finances.

Start paying on your smallest debt. Do your very best, but know that even if only $5 over the minimum payment is within your means, it is a step of obedience and faith in God’s eyes.

STOP borrowing any money. At. All. It may seem like you “need” to borrow, but resist the temptation and let God be your one and only Source.

Sell some unwanted or unneeded items to raise money to put toward debt.

Sow a seed toward your debt freedom. What? Give money away while I’m in debt? Yes. Kingdom principles always supersede natural laws. You can’t reap if you don’t sow.

This is where it begins. Taking small steps of big faith toward debt freedom opens the door for God to work supernaturally on your behalf.

Learn more from The Profile of a Prosperous Christian HERE.

Give God something to work with. If the amount of debt you’re dealing with seems too big, don’t just give up—step up!

When you do, you’re saying, “God, I’m in this with You. I’m believing to see miracles. I’m putting feet to my faith, and I’m starting here. Bless my efforts, anoint me to stay the course, bless and multiply this dollar (or $10, or $100). Watch how fast you become debt free.

4. Let Testimonies of Debt Freedom Feed Your Faith

One way to get to debt freedom FAST is to build your faith through the power of testimonies.

If you’ve been around KCM for a while, you know we have quite a few testimonies of debt freedom among our Partners and Friends! You’ll find them in our books, on our website and all over KCM’s YouTube® page.

God is no respecter of persons. What He’ll do for your brother and sister in the Lord, He’ll do for you. Listen to their journeys, learn where they missed it, and how they fixed it. Let testimonies of debt freedom feed your faith. They will keep you going when circumstances don’t seem to be improving.

Here’s a testimony of debt freedom to get you started.

When Mylon Le Fevre first got saved, he had a massive amount of debt. It was so much, it seemed impossible that he could ever get out. As a new Christian, he had learned that God said in Romans 13:8 to get out of debt and stay out of debt.

So, he met with a financial counselor who mapped everything out for him, including how much he would need to put aside each month to achieve debt freedom.

Mylon put everything he had into getting out of debt. He didn’t eat out or purchase anything (he only bought the food he needed and paid his bills). He took steps of faith! Though the financial advisor said it would take five years and eight months, all of Mylon’s debt was gone in 18 months!

Let even more testimonies of debt freedom from these KCM Partners feed your faith!

5. Check Your Stewardship to Become Debt Free

You’re feeding your faith and standing on God’s Word for debt freedom. Now…the question is: Are you in obedience to His Word concerning finances in other areas?

As sure as the sun shines, disobedience blocks the promises of God from coming to pass in our lives.

If you want to see financial blessings and promises from God, be sure to check your stewardship to become debt free.

Stewardship is important to God. In the Parable of the Talents, a certain amount of money was entrusted to each person. It was not their own money but was given to them to manage for the master. And, they were held accountable for the results.

That’s how God views the money we have been given. We are held accountable for the way we steward the money God gives us. We must be found faithful if we want to receive the rewards of the Master.

If you’re believing for debt freedom, check these areas of stewardship to be sure you’re living according to God’s requirements.

Treat the money you have as God’s money. (Deuteronomy 8:18)
If you have the idea that it’s your money, you earned it and it belongs to you—you’re already off the mark. Everything you have comes from God. Submit it to Him as a steward.

Do not trust in money. (Proverbs 11:28)
If you’re up at night thinking about how you’re going to pay your bills or you hold onto it tightly, you’re trusting in money instead of God.

Give the tithe. (Proverbs 3:9)
When you obey and honor God by tithing, you are demonstrating good stewardship of what He’s entrusted to you. You’re making Him your Source and trusting Him to provide in abundance for you.

Be generous. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
Good stewards are generous with their money. They sow generously because they know they will reap generously in return. They are big givers, big tippers and a need never goes unmet when they’re around.

Do not love money. (1 Timothy 6:10)
What does it mean to love money? It’s a heart issue fueled by greed. More, more, more. Loving money is always thinking about acquiring more—often with selfish motives. Love of money will put the dollar ahead of time spent with spouses and children or serving at church. Those are just a few symptoms, but it is a dangerous place to live.

You are meant to be debt free, and when you use these five ways to get there fast, you’ll be well on your way to living the prosperous life. No matter where you are today, financial freedom is well within your reach. Now go after it!

Watch Kenneth and Gloria Copeland teach you how to be set free from debt forever.

Can God Trust You With Wealth? 7 Traits He’s Looking For

Can God Trust You With Wealth?

Do you have the traits of a person God can trust with wealth? Find out the seven traits He’s looking for!

Fact: Lottery winners are more likely to declare bankruptcy within three to five years than the average American.

Fact: After only two years of retirement, 78% of NFL players are either broke or struggling financially.

Fact: Within five years of retirement, 60% of NBA players are broke.

The lesson? Financial success means a lot more than just having money. Gloria Copeland says, “One thing about wealth—it can come quickly, and it can go quickly.”

These once-rich people lost everything because they didn’t know how to handle wealth. And there’s only one right way to manage financial abundance—God’s way.

God has created a process of empowerment called THE BLESSING, and it is designed to make us prosper in all things and to make us rich. Despite what some Christians say, rich is not a curse word—it’s a BLESSING word. Poverty is under the curse, and we’ve been redeemed from the curse.

God’s will for you is prosperity in every area of your life—and that includes wealth. But knowing the great dangers of money without godly stewardship, He doesn’t give it to anyone and everyone. You have to be a candidate for increase.

Can God trust you with wealth? Here are seven traits He’s looking for.

1. You See Yourself as a Steward, Not an Owner

“Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth.” –Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV)

Most Christians sound something like this:

“It’s my money. I worked for it.”

They receive their paychecks and feel entitled—they earned them, after all. The problem with this way of thinking is that it doesn’t recognize the true Giver of wealth. Everything we have that enables us to gain wealth comes from God—our talents, abilities, opportunities and favor. When God blesses you with money—any amount of money—He is entrusting it to you, but it still belongs to Him.

The first step to becoming a candidate for increase—someone God can trust with wealth—is to see yourself as a steward, not an owner of the money you have. As you acknowledge that the Lord is the One who gives you the power to become rich, you keep yourself in a posture of humility and allow God to direct your decisions. It keeps you free from toiling, free from worry and free from temptations. It will keep you prospering!

2. You Are Godly Rich, Not Worldly Rich

“Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value.” –Proverbs 10:2 (NIV)

Once you see yourself as a steward, you’ll need to be one who behaves in a godly way when it comes to wealth. There is a worldly way to be rich and a godly way to be rich. Do you know the difference?

Isaiah 32:7-8 defines the character traits of each.

The Worldly Rich vs. The Godly Rich

  • Use fraudulent methods to gain wealth vs. Honest and generous
  • Self-focused vs. God- and others-focused

  • Motivated to increase for the sake of acquiring vs. Motivated to increase for the sake of distributing

  • Use people to get things vs. Use things to love people

The Bible is clear—whether wealth is good or bad depends on who has the money. If not handled in a godly manner, money is dangerous. But there is nothing wrong with having enough money to live debt free, live blessed, support your church, spread the gospel and minister to the poor. That’s THE BLESSING!

Above all, Gloria Copeland shares the real difference: “There is a one-word difference between the godly rich and the worldly rich—peace.”

3. You Protect Your Wealth Through Tithing

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse.” –Malachi 3:10 (NIV)

If you see yourself as a steward and behave as a godly wealthy individual, tithing is a no-brainer for you. In fact, you don’t see tithing as giving away your money, you know you protect your wealth through tithing, and wouldn’t dream of withholding it.

Tithing is chock full of spiritual blessing, but when it comes to being someone God can trust with money, it accomplishes several things:

  1. It is an exercise that keeps your focus in the right place—on God.

  2. It keeps you in obedience to God and protects you from the devourer (Malachi 3:11).

  3. It keeps you from thinking too highly of yourself.

  4. It keeps you in a spirit of expectancy with God—knowing you will receive a return.

Discover your 3 Tithers’ Rights HERE.

This heart attitude is essential because, as Gloria Copeland says, “If you’re too tight to tithe, you’re too tight to let THE BLESSING in.”

Think about the aperture of a camera. Adjusted by the lens, it opens and closes to different degrees to determine how much light can reach the film or image sensor. If a photographer doesn’t open the aperture enough, the light can’t get in to take the picture. Simply put—little opening, little light, big opening, big light.

Tithing is the lens into our financial blessing. It opens the flow for blessing to come back to you. Proverbs 11:24 says it this way: “One person gives freely, yet gains more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor” (CSB).

You may have noticed that those who hang onto money the tightest seem to be the ones who always need it the most. On the other hand, learning to give freely to the Lord is the gem of tithing and a great enlightenment of mercy. It gets you out of poverty and over into God’s system of blessing.

4. You’re Known for Your Generosity

“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” –2 Corinthians 9:6 (NIV)

Christian financial advisor Dave Ramsey says, “The wallet is a great window into the soul.” In other words, the way we use our money is a good indicator of the condition of our hearts toward God. When you’re known for your generosity, you have a critical trait God is looking for in those He can trust with wealth.

God can trust a generous heart with wealth. He knows those who freely give can have money without money having them. But a hoarder will not receive a blessing because there is no seed to bless—no crop to reap.

If you’re not one who gives generously, it’s not too late! As the steward of God’s money, ask Him regularly, “God, what do You want me to do with Your money?” Then, let Him lead you.

Be generous with people who work for you. Be generous in your giving to your church, ministries or charities. Be a generous tipper! Christians should be the biggest tippers out there. Bless people. Don’t hold so tightly to your money. Be one whom God can trust to give more and more wealth.

David Green, founder and CEO of retail giant Hobby Lobby, tells a story in his book, Giving It All Away…And Getting It Back Again, about the power of living generously.

There’s a phrase common in some Christian circles that goes, “You can’t out-give God.” I tossed that phrase around myself more than once. Then…God seemed to say to me, “Well, you haven’t really tried, have you?”

David Green decided to increase his giving dramatically. His company significantly increased right after that. That pattern continued over and over until he reached a point that he was giving far beyond anything he could ever imagine. The more the company has grown, the more they’ve given, and then they keep increasing. “We truly cannot seem to get ahead of Him,” David says.

God can trust those who have generous hearts with great wealth. Can He trust you?

5. You Put God First, Even in Abundance

“Seek first the kingdom of God.” –Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

People with deep needs will often pursue God fervently; but oftentimes when Christians grow in wealth, their hearts grow cold and they forget God. They’ll pass the poverty test, but fail the prosperity test.

That happens when people fail to keep God’s Word first place in their lives. To be a person God can trust with wealth, you will be a person who puts God first place, even in abundance.

Watch Gloria Copeland and George Pearsons teach you how staying steady on the Word will open the door to supernatural wealth.

If you’re believing God for wealth, or already have it, Gloria Copeland has some advice for you: “When all your needs are met, remember where you got it. Remember that it was God who gave you the power to get wealth. One thing about wealth—it can come quickly, and it can go quickly.”

If you’re believing God for wealth, or already have it, Gloria Copeland has some advice for you: “When all your needs are met, remember where you got it. Remember that it was God who gave you the power to get wealth. One thing about wealth—it can come quickly, and it can go quickly.”

6. You Don’t Put Your Trust in Your Wealth

“Command those who are rich in this present world not to…put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” –1 Timothy 6:17 (NIV)

When you put God first, you’re also putting your trust in Him. When you’re trusting God, you don’t put your trust in your wealth. You don’t worry about how you’ll pay your bills or if you’ll have enough to pay for your child’s college tuition. You don’t feel pressure to claw your way to the top at your workplace, and you certainly don’t save twisty ties in a big jar “just in case.”

Matthew 19:24 says, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God” (ESV). Notice this verse says it is difficult, but not impossible. In response to the disciples’ concern over this, Jesus assures them, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (verse 26, ESV).

Why is it impossible with man alone?

One reason is that it is so tempting to trust in money. It seems to have the answer to everything we need and want. Yet, some of the most unhappy people on earth are the wealthiest. True happiness, peace, joy and love come from God alone.

Abundance is the cherry on top, not the foundation of real security.

When you’re following God—obeying Him in all your ways, seeking Him with all your heart, and trusting Him with your life—money will just be an added bonus, but you’ll hold it loosely.

When you trust in riches, you’ll be up all night wondering what you’re going to do about one financial situation or another. You’ll be worried about paying bills. When you trust in God, Gloria Copeland sums it up well when she says, “Faith sleeps at night.”

Are you really making God your Source? Find out HERE.

7. You Are Not Even the Slightest Bit Prideful About Your Wealth

“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant.” –1 Timothy 6:17 (NIV)

As much as trusting in riches is a threat to your spiritual well-being and financial security, pride is an even greater threat. And…you don’t have to be rolling in money for pride about it to set in. You can be proud of a small purchase, a house, a car or a gift you’ve given.

Pride in any area of life is a BIG DANGER to your spiritual health. It not only blocks healing and puts you in a position to experience a fall, it keeps you from being a candidate for wealth or even from keeping the wealth you have.

With wealth comes the temptation to think you are superior to others. When pride creeps in, those with wealth can use their money to control others. There have even been wealthy church congregants who have tried to control a pastor’s decision with their money! That’s pride, and it’s not God’s system.

If you are one God can trust with wealth, you are not even the slightest bit prideful about your wealth. You walk in humility—setting yourself aside to meet the needs of others.

When money comes into a person’s life, if they don’t maintain a place of humility, then that money will start to control them, and they will not be led by the Spirit.

Can God trust you with wealth? These seven traits He’s looking for will help you know. If you’re not quite there, don’t be discouraged! Not one person on the earth does not have to work continually at each of these. You can become a candidate for increase. YOU can be the one God can trust with wealth!

3 Ways to Activate the Spirit of Increase

Do You Qualify? The 5 Prerequisites for Promotion

5 Prerequisites for Promotion

Feeling like you’ll never move to the next level in life? Find out if you’re meeting the prerequisites for the promotion you’ve been dreaming of.

READING TIME:  8 MIN

Are you living the same day over and over again?

Maybe it seems like you wake up and carry on pretty much the same way every day, without any exciting changes or life-altering increase. Yet, you have stirrings, dreams and visions for what you want in this life. And you keep waiting for your breakthrough—your tipping point.

Here’s the deal…

You are the tipping point.

If you’re feeling stuck, it’s because you were made for continual promotion and advancement in this life. This year should not look the same as every other year. Increase in your job, finances, ministry or family should regularly be occurring. But you have to own your part in seeing God’s supernatural promotion.

It’s time to skip the middleman and start getting promoted quicker, easier and beyond what the world says is possible. Instead of waiting around for something to change, trying to make our own way, or convincing the world to promote us, we need to make a way for God to move.

As Gloria Copeland says, “You must be worthy of being promoted. You have to give God something to work with.” You must qualify.

Your promotion is within reach. And it’s in your hands. It all starts with working to live by these five prerequisites for promotion.

Prerequisite No. 1: Have a Servant’s Heart

“Truly I am your servant, Lord.” –Psalm 116:16 (NIV)

When you’re focused on promotion, you’re focused on yourself, right? It can be tough to shift the focus off your own dreams and desires and over onto others, but that’s exactly what you need to do to qualify for a BIG promotion from God.

Gloria Copeland says, “Promotion begins on the inside. Having a servant’s heart is vital to your promotion.”

Joseph went from the pit to the palace by serving his master, his prison master and his fellow prisoners, and more importantly, his God. He could’ve spent time thinking about how he had been given a dream by God, what a hard worker he was, and how he deserved promotion, but he didn’t. He had a servant’s heart, and that’s why he enjoyed one of the greatest promotions we see in the Bible.

David is another model example of how to receive life-changing promotion. He began at the bottom—a lowly shepherd boy. No one had high thoughts of him or big plans to advance him in any way. In fact, in the world’s eyes, he was nothing special.

He had seven brothers who were all seemingly better looking, smarter and more qualified. God chose to promote David, in part, because he had a servant’s heart. He served his father and King Saul faithfully, in spite of the mistreatment and continual attacks on his life. More importantly, he served God.

His servant’s heart opened the door—and kept it open—for a life-changing promotion from shepherd boy to king.

What can we learn from Joseph and David’s servant’s hearts?

  1. They remained faithful and honorable in the lowest of positions. Even when God told them their true destinies, they didn’t resent not arriving there instantly.
  2. They were not impatient about being promoted. They kept their focus on serving others and honoring God.
  3. They didn’t give up or become weary in well-doing.

If you are not where you want to be today, or maybe even far from it, do not despise where you are. It’s in the dry and hard places that your promotion is secured. Keep moving in the will of God, and the will of God will promote you.

Prerequisite No. 2: Humility

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” –James 4:10 (NKJV)

Having a servant’s heart will require humility, but walking in humility goes far beyond that. If you want to be promoted in your job, finances, ministry, family or any other area—all pride has to go.

You may be thinking, I don’t have a problem with pride. Keith Moore has this to say to you: “If you don’t think you have trouble with pride, you’re confused. You have flesh, don’t you? Then you have pride to deal with.” Pride is something every single person has to combat. But make no mistake, you must combat it.

Watch Gloria Copeland and George Pearsons talk more about humility as a prerequisite for promotion.

Pride isn’t just an unkind attitude—it’s a dream killer. It will rob you of everything you’re believing for and halt your miracles (James 4:6). That’s why the enemy wants to tempt you into it (it’s what caused his fall, after all). He knows he can devour you when he can get you to be like him—proud, defiant and rebellious.

You qualify for promotion when you work on having a humble spirit. In fact, the Bible tells us to be “clothed with humility” (1 Peter 5:5, KJV). This isn’t a one-time deal, either. It’s a daily effort.

What does humility look like?

Humility thinks of others first.

Humility is content behind the scenes.

Humility doesn’t push its way to the front.

Humility willingly submits.

Humility graciously receives correction.

Humility makes adjustments.

Humility doesn’t ruin an apology with an excuse.

Humility expects nothing and appreciates everything.

Humility accepts responsibility and doesn’t shift blame.

Humility is easy to live with, work with and be with.

To get to this place, as Keith Moore says, “Pride has to die!” If you think you can do this on your own, that’s pride, too. You need correction. If you can begin to see correction as a gift, you’ll be on the expressway to humility.

That means allowing God—and even people—to correct you. Even if someone doesn’t handle it as delicately as they could, you need to learn to receive correction from people. When you don’t, that’s your flesh rising up and telling you to feed your pride.

If you want to see promotion in your life, ask God to help you become someone who lives and walks with humility. Gloria Copeland says, “Pride sets you up for a fall. Humility will set you up for honor.”

Prerequisite No. 3: Diligence

“Diligent hands bring wealth.” –Proverbs 10:4 (NIV)

Just like humility, diligence is the door to promotion. You can’t qualify without it. Are you diligent?

 A diligent person is…

  1. Conscientious in his work or duties
  2. Industrious, hardworking, meticulous, thorough
  3. Someone who does more than what’s expected
  4. Dependable, punctual
  5. Constant, stable, focused

Does this describe you? Are you meeting the prerequisite for promotion by being diligent?

The Bible tells us a bit more about who diligent people are and what they receive:

  1. Diligent people are hard workers. Proverbs 10:4 (TLV) says “Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.” Prosperity and promotion come to the hard worker.
  2. Diligent people thoughtfully plan. They aren’t hasty in their decisions, but think ahead and plan well. Proverbs 21:5 says, “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty” (NIV).
  3. Diligent people serve great leaders. Proverbs 22:29 says, “Do you know a hard-working man? He shall be successful and stand before kings!” (TLB). Diligent people are not overlooked for long, and they end up in the highest places.
  4. Diligent people are resourceful and care for what they have. This means they are good stewards! Proverbs 12:27 says a “diligent man makes good use of everything he finds” (TLB).Pastor Ricker Renner used to drive by the homes of associate pastors to inspect their garages. He felt he could see their hearts by the way they cared for their homes.
  5. Diligent people become great leaders. Proverbs 12:24 says when you work hard, you will become a leader. That’s promotion! Joseph and David are proof of this truth.

If you want to be promoted in life, work hard. Be diligent as a Christian, a spouse, a parent, a friend, a financial steward, a minister and an employee. Get qualified for promotion!

Prerequisite No. 4: Faithfulness

“A faithful man who can find?” –Proverbs 20:6 (KJV)

Every prerequisite we’ve discussed so far is nonnegotiable. And so is faithfulness. It seems to be a lost art, these days, doesn’t it? Perhaps that’s why we don’t see people advancing when they should.

Remember David? He was the most faithful among all of King Saul’s servants. That’s what God is looking for.

Faithful people are located and promoted by God. That’s what happens when you live out the prerequisites for promotion. Promotion will chase after and overtake you!

Let’s look at the Bible characteristics of a faithful person.

  1. Faithful people can be trusted by those they serve.
  2. Faithful people keep a confidence—they don’t reveal secrets or go around talking about matters that should be kept quiet (Proverbs 11:13)
  3. Faithful people are loyal. They don’t cheat, steal or abuse their positions.
  4. Faithful people are truthful and honest. They don’t lie or bend the truth (Proverbs 14:5).
  5. Faithful people are reliable and dependable. They show up on time, and they do what they say they will do (Proverbs 25:13).

Faithfulness is a prerequisite for promotion. “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much” (Luke 16:10, KJV). When you are faithful where God has placed you, He will know He can trust you with even more. “A faithful man will abound with blessings” (Proverbs 28:20, ESV).

Prerequisite No. 5: Integrity

“The just man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” –Proverbs 20:7 (MEV)

Many people don’t realize the connection between integrity and promotion. Galatians 6:7 tells us we reap what we sow, so if you connect the dots, it’s easy to see: Sowing integrity will produce a harvest of promotion.

Honesty is valued highly in our society—it is a nonnegotiable with God. There is a greater demand for integrity from Christians because of who we represent. Second Corinthians 8:21 says, “We are careful to be honorable before the Lord, but we also want everyone else to see that we are honorable.”

Your life is a letter anyone can read by looking at you (2 Corinthians 3:2). That’s what many believers don’t understand. We are being watched—read like a book. The world hears every word we speak and sees every action we take. Our lives are a testimony to the unsaved about who our God is, and we have a responsibility to represent Him accurately.

How important is integrity? Find out in a special story of integrity that impacted Kenneth Copeland’s personal life HERE.

To qualify for promotion, you must live your life with integrity—down to the tiniest detail.

How does the Bible define integrity? Psalm 15:1-5 breaks it down for us:

  1. Live a blameless life. Do what is right, even when it looks like it could be to your disadvantage.
  2. Keep your word, no matter what. Show up when you say you’re going to show up. Do what you say you’ll do. Give what you say you’ll give.
  3. Do the right thing.
    1. Return things you borrowed (like rental cars) in better shape than when you got them.
    2.  Return excess change accidentally given to you.
    3.  Go back to pay the right amount when you were undercharged.
    4. Return the shopping cart to the proper place.
    5. Give your employer the full amount of work agreed upon.
  4. Refuse to gossip or speak poorly about others.
  5. Lend without charging interest.
  6. Refuse to be bribed.

Learn more about How to Live the Psalm 15 Life HERE.

Sadly, it is a rare thing to see people with integrity anymore. That’s why so many people are stuck in the same place for so long. Those who will prosper will be those with the most integrity—those who are dependable. God has His part, and we have ours. Our part is walking in integrity.

If you’ve been waiting for promotion, developing your character and meeting these five prerequisites is key. Remember, it is God’s will for you to be promoted! As long as you are in line with His Word, you don’t have to fight, beg or beat the system. He will get you to the place you need to be.

Gloria Copeland and George Pearsons share about integrity as a prerequisite for promotion.

One man made a decision to put worry behind him for good, and to simply trust God to do what He said He would do.

That man is Bishop David Oyedepo. Not only did his decision to stop worry for good build one of the largest churches in the world, but it also paved the way for God to build more than $500 million worth of facilities, including a church and a major university, right in the middle of one of the poorest places on earth.

Kenneth E. Hagin made the same decision and experienced supernatural healing, miracle after miracle in his life and ministry, and a life filled with unspeakable peace. Of this decision, he said, “Oh, I’ve had some marvelous opportunities since then to worry. Worry was the most difficult sin for me to give up. And worry is the greatest temptation you, too, will ever face. But you can resist it—and you must.”

Kenneth E. Hagin and Bishop Oyedepo discovered the same secret to success—the ticket to a life well-lived and prospering in all things. They both discovered that worry had been stealing the abundant life that belonged to them in Christ Jesus, and made the decision to never worry again. More importantly, they never turned back on the decision–no matter how tempted they were.

The results speak for themselves.

You can have the same whole-life prosperity, peace and joy these men of God walked in by following their example (and the Bible’s command!). You can learn how to defeat worry forever and put the devil under your feet where he belongs with this simple strategy.

1. Pray in the Spirit to Defeat Worry

“A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally.” –1 Corinthians 14:4

Like a sneak attack, worried thoughts can drop into your head out of nowhere. You started the day fine, but after an email, phone call or random thought out of nowhere, suddenly you’re worried, upset, stressed and just not sure how your life is going to turn out.

Acceptable? Nope. Coincidence? Hardly.

Worry is just another form of fear (the opposite of faith), and it’s a handy-dandy way the devil likes to keep you from obtaining—well—anything. You may be in the habit of biting the bait, allowing the hook to drag you into doubt and torment. If you don’t bite right away, he’ll appeal to your “sensible” side and convince you that worrying is the responsible thing to do.

If you were raised in an atmosphere of constant fear—fear of financial trouble, fear of disease, fear of losing relationships—this may be so ingrained in you, you’ll need to bulldoze the habit of worry right out of your life! As much as you think you’re helping your life by worrying, you’re actually blocking the blessings of God from flowing to you.

If you’re a bit of a “worrywart,” it’s time to break the habit, become obedient to God’s Word, and defeat worry forever. Here’s how.

When worried thoughts come knocking on your door, don’t stop and have a conversation; don’t invite them in for tea. This is no time to play nice. You need to do one thing—Shut! Them! Down!

One way to do this? Pray in the spirit.

Praying in the spirit packs a powerful punch in any situation, and it’s a powerful way to “take every thought captive” (2 Corinthians 10:5, ESV). When the magnitude of a situation feels very real—and very troubling—it can be difficult to know how to shift gears.

That’s where praying in the spirit comes in. Every time you feel yourself starting to worry, switch over into tongues immediately. It’s your safeguard from worry, and the devil can’t compete with the power of the Holy Ghost.

You’ll find it very difficult to continue worrying when you’re praying in the spirit, and you’ll be encouraged, too!

As you continue to do this, you’ll douse the fuel for the fire before it even has a chance to start. As you continue practicing this spiritual strategy, you’ll find yourself worrying less and less until it just disappears for good!

2. Lose Your Pride to Defeat Worry

So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God…. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” –1 Peter 5:6-7

While praying in the spirit will shut down worry—and fast—there’s a heart issue behind worry you must deal with as well. (Warning: Conviction coming.)

Did you know when you worry you are being prideful? That might be a tough pill to swallow, but it’s a sin the Bible warns us to avoid.

When you worry, you’re meditating on the devil’s lies instead of the Word of God. As a result, every time you turn around, you’ll find you’re thinking of new problems to worry about.

It’s a cruel and dangerous cycle. But praise God, the Bible tells us how to break out of it. It says, “Humble yourselves…. casting all your care upon him” (1 Peter 5:6-7, KJV).

Why do we have to humble ourselves to get free of worry? Because in God’s eyes, continuing to worry and carry care is pride! Worrying is ignoring the Word. Worry ignores the fact that God laid every care, sin, sickness, money problem and anything else that’s under the curse on Jesus, and worry tries to carry those things and fix them with natural human strength.

Whatever you’re worrying about, if you had the ability, you would have already fixed it. So, stop running around in mental circles fretting about it, and just humble yourself before God. Acknowledge that without Him, you don’t have the spiritual power to overcome the things that are troubling you. Then cast on Him “the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all]” (verse 7, AMPC).

Don’t just give Him half of your cares and try to carry the rest yourself. Don’t give them to Him one minute and then take them back the next. That’s not what that scripture says. It says we’re to cast the whole of our care on Him “once and for all” to defeat worry forever.

That means we should never have a care. Ever! The benefit? When you aren’t worrying, you’re in position for promotion, increase and blessing because you’re staying out of sin and making room for God to work at the same time.

Pray A Prayer to Stop Worry for Good HERE.

3. Take God at His Word to Defeat Worry

“The word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any doubled-edged sword….” –Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)

Part of losing pride is taking God at His Word. If you believe God, you won’t believe the devil’s evil report. That means you can make a decision to believe God’s promises to you and never worry again.

Maybe you’re thinking, But you don’t understand; they’re going to repossess my car!

What does that have to do with anything?

Well, I need a car to get to work.

Don’t you think Jesus knows that?

Yeah, but…

There’s the problem, right there! It’s not your need of a car. It’s your compromising, “yeah, but” attitude toward God’s Word and His covenant promise of provision.

When Brother Kenneth E. Hagin was a young boy, lying paralyzed in his bed and dying of an incurable blood disease, he got a revelation of the fact that worry is a sin. God revealed it to him while he was searching the Word, hoping to find out how to get healed.

He realized that by worrying he was disobeying God’s command. Determined not to give place to that sin anymore, he prayed and said, “God, if You’ll forgive me for this worry fit and pity party, if You’ll forgive me for crying all day long about my sorry lot in life, I commit to You I will never worry again the longest day I live on this earth.”

That was in 1933, and from then on he testified, “I haven’t worried a day since!”

Later in his life, after he started Rhema Bible School, he told about a time when some ministers came to tour the campus. As he was showing them around, they were looking at all the construction that was going on. Thinking about the cost involved, one of them said, “Brother Hagin, I just can’t imagine the load you’re carrying with this ministry.”

“I’m not carrying any load!” he laughed. “I turned all this over to Jesus. This Bible School was His idea, not mine. I figure if He can’t make it go it will just have to flop, because I’m not taking the care.”

It’s no wonder Brother Hagin enjoyed such outstanding success in his life and ministry! He obeyed 1 Peter 5:5-11. He humbled himself under God’s mighty hand and cast all his cares once and for all on God. So, God did for Him just what He said He’d do. God exalted him over all the cares of this world. He lifted him up over the curse and into THE BLESSING.

Find 5 Practical Ways to Cast Your Cares on Jesus HERE.

You can have the same spiritual, physical and financial success that Brother Hagin did. Get into God’s Word—that’s where you’ll find the power to defeat worry forever!

Find scriptures that cover the cares you’ve been carrying. Make a list of them. Keep them in front of your eyes and in your mouth until they’re rooted in your heart. The Word is the “sword of the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:17). If you grab hold of it and hang on to it, the Word will fight its own fight.

Watch Kenneth and Gloria Copeland teach you why worry is sin.

4. Praise the Lord to Defeat Worry

“You will keep in perfect peace…all whose thoughts are fixed on you.” –Isaiah 26:3

This really should come as no surprise: Worship is the antidote to worry.

Think about it—if you’re worshipping the Lord, you’re giving Him glory, you’re focusing on His goodness, His power, His mercy and His provision. You’re focusing on the solution, not the problem.

Just like praying in the spirit, praising the Lord will stop worry in its tracks. It’s a great way to teach the devil a lesson, too.

Try it.

Every time he comes at you with fear-filled thoughts, start worshipping and praising the Lord. Loudly. Thank Him for His goodness, His mercy and His grace. Thank Him for your home, your family, your job, your car. Thank Him for every good thing in your life. Thank Him for the guidance and comfort of His Word.

Sing to Him.

He inhabits the praises of His people, and when He shows up, satan runs.

This is how you defeat worry forever. You rejoice always—it’s impossible to rejoice and worry at the same time. If a worry starts to arise, you say, “No, that’s not a good report. I’m not going to think on it. I take authority over it, and I’m not going to touch it with my mind anymore.”

Then, move back into praise, and say goodbye to worry for good.

5. Watch Your Confessions to Defeat Worry

“But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you.” –Matthew 15:18

Last, but not least—if you really want to defeat worry forever, in addition to those things we’ve already discussed, you’ve got to watch your confessions.

When you speak worried thoughts, you’re ministering fear to yourself. You’re thinking about bad things and picturing them coming to pass in your life. You’re envisioning yourself losing your job, for instance, and running short of money. You’re talking about it and making fear confessions: “I’m just worried to death about all these dumb decisions the government’s making. They’re messing up the economy so bad, I’m afraid my company is going to go under, and I’m going to end up unemployed.”

No matter what the government is doing, you, as a believer, don’t have any business saying such things! It’s counterproductive. It doesn’t proceed from faith, and, as we’ve already seen, whatever doesn’t proceed from faith is sin.

Instead, if you are struggling with the temptation to speak worried thoughts, stay silent! Then, say this: “I don’t have a care in this world because I’ve cast every one of them onto my Lord.”

Call things that be not as though they were, and stop that worry in your life for good!

When you put these actions into practice—even if you have to do it every 30 seconds for a while—you will defeat worry forever. In fact, you’ll be shocked at how quickly your faith rises. You can take command, crush the worry habit and live a supernaturally carefree life!

Watch Kenneth and Gloria Copeland teach you how to destroy the worry habit.

#KindnessMatters in Southfield, Michigan

KindnessMatters in Southfield, MI

Watch this video as the Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM) team shares the love of God with the people of Southfield, Mich., by acts of kindness during the recent 2019 Midwest Victory Campaign.

As the Body of Christ, representing the love God to the world, we should be impacting others with God’s love just like Jesus.

Acts 10:38 in The Passion Translation says, “Jesus of Nazareth was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and with great power. He did wonderful things for others and divinely healed all who were under the tyranny of the devil, for God had anointed him.”

Simple acts of kindness and showing God’s love to others by meeting their needs or blessing them with something they desire can open the door for people to receive the love of Jesus into their hearts. Many people don’t know that God wants their needs met, their bodies healed and the desires of their hearts granted. They don’t know until someone reaches them with the hand of God and blesses them in the Name of the Lord.

One of the ways our team wanted to do wonderful things for others in Southfield, Mich., was by handing out gift cards, which opened the door to share the love of Jesus with every person we touched.

We believe #KindnessMatters, and when you love people and serve the city, you will impact the world. One act of kindness can change someone’s life forever.

We don’t share this to boast in our giving but to encourage you to be the hands and feet of Jesus in your city. We look forward to sharing more acts of kindness and love at our next event.

Meanwhile, think about this: How can you show someone the love of God today with an act of kindness?

7 Strategies for Building a Psalm 91 House

7 Strategies to Build a Psalm 91 House

When you first move into a home, great care is taken to situate the furniture, hang family pictures on the walls, and decorate each room. A house becomes a home with time and love invested into establishing a comfortable space.

But what about the spiritual side of your home? Does being a Christian mean your home will automatically be blessed and protected? Unfortunately, the answer is no. So, what can you do to ensure your home is a safe place for your family? You go to God’s promises in His Word.

Promises of protection abound throughout the Bible, but there is one place where you can find all of them gathered together in a single, power-packed passage—and that’s in Psalm 91. Psalm 91 is God’s covenant for divine protection.  It covers every danger—sickness, disease, assault, crime, tornadoes, fire and any other threat to your safety and well-being.

The good news is you can live in a fortress of Psalm 91 protection and create an environment in your home that makes the devil flee. But like any of the promises of God, you have a responsibility to receive the promises of Psalm 91 by faith.

Below are seven faith strategies for Building a Psalm 91 house.

1. Fill Your Atmosphere

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” –Psalm 91:1

We live in two atmospheres—one is physical and the other spiritual. An atmosphere is defined as “a pervading or surrounding influence or spirit, general mood or environment.” In Genesis 1, the earth’s atmosphere was dark and empty—until God spoke. It didn’t automatically take on the spiritual atmosphere of God—He had to fill the atmosphere with what He wanted to occupy that space.

The same is true for us. We have a spiritual atmosphere in our homes that we can energize with the power of the Holy Spirit, or leave blank for anything or anyone to permeate. The latter is much too dangerous. If we fail to play offense, we’ll end up playing defense and wearing ourselves down with unnecessary trials.

How can you fill your atmosphere? Try these simple, but powerful, ideas at home:

  • Load an MP3 player with the entire Bible. Connect it to small desktop speakers and place it in the main living space of your home. Set it to ‘repeat’ and let it run on low volume 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No matter where you are or what you’re doing, the Word of God is being spoken into the atmosphere of your home!
  • Turn on VICTORY™ network (formerly BVOVN) and let it play in your home. Click here for ways to access VICTORY.
  • Play worship music softly throughout the day.
  • Speak the Word of God out loud as you go about your daily tasks.

2. Protect Your Atmosphere

“He is my refuge and my fortress….” –Psalm 91:2, NKJV

Romans 12:2 tells us not to be conformed to this world and its ways. Media choices like television shows, movies and music that promote fear, worry, infidelity, divorce, anger and sexual immorality oppose the Word of God and weaken the protection around you, your home and your family.

When you take refuge in God, you remove yourself from the influence of those things that are not of God—the voice of the world.  Ask God, according to Psalm 119:37, to turn your eyes from worthless things and help you purge your atmosphere of all that is not of Him.

3. Deal With Wrong Spirits Immediately

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him…” Psalm 91:14, NKJV

Have you ever walked into a room and felt tension so thick, you wanted to run the other way? A wrong spirit was most certainly to blame. James 3:16 says, “For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there” (NKJV).

When you set your love upon the Lord, you will desire to love others as He loves them, but if you step out of love, you are stepping into Satan’s territory. Strife, unforgiveness, rebellion and pride are all tools the devil uses to come into your home and stir up trouble. His purpose? To divide and destroy your home.

It can be very costly to allow the “luxury” of a few quarrels or to permit your children to rebel and talk back to you, because when you do, you are inviting a wrong spirit to operate in your home. On the other hand, the power of agreement is a supernatural, miracle-working power!

So, determine to stop any attitudes or situations that cause destruction. When any wrong spirit tries to take up residence in your home, deal with it immediately. Say, “Spirit of strife, unforgiveness, pride and rebellion, get out of my home in the Name of Jesus!”

4. Anoint Your Home with Oil

“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.” –Psalm 91:7, NKJV

The world around you—even fellow believers—seem to struggle with constant sickness and tragedy. But under God’s promise of protection, those evils will not touch you. When you stand in faith for Psalm 91 protection, you will see those around you falling, but that evil won’t come near you.

One way to appropriate your faith for supernatural protection is to anoint your home with oil. Oil represents the power of the Holy Spirit and is a symbol of faith in God’s ability to cleanse and make holy. It is an act of consecrating your home to Him.

To do this, anoint the frame of every door in your home. As you do, pray and invite the Holy Spirit to fill every inch of your home in every room. Pray that only His will be done and that everything that is said and done in your home will be pleasing to Him.

“And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.” –Isaiah 10:27, NKJV

5. Draw a Blood Line

“No evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.” –Psalm 91:10

There is power in the blood of Jesus! In 1 Peter 1:18-19, we are told that we were redeemed from the curse with the precious blood of Christ. So, when the devil tries to nose his way into our lives, we overcome him by the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 12:11).

How do we use the blood? In Luke 10:19, Jesus says, “I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy.” So, we plead the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ over our families, our property and our possessions.

A minister and his wife were conducting meetings in a large church that was having a great impact on the kingdom of God. The devil had become infuriated at the success of the meetings, so he told the minister he had put rabies on the foxes in the woods adjoining their property and intended to kill his children.

The minister said, “Devil, you are a liar! You can’t kill my children.” Immediately, he went home and gathered in agreement with other believers. They agreed in prayer and by faith drew a blood line of protection around the property.

A week later, lying on the boundary of his land, were five dead foxes. They had dropped dead when they tried to cross the blood line!

In prayer and faith, you can plead the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and draw a blood line around your property, your vehicles, your children’s schools and your workplace.

6. Dispatch Your Angels

“He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go.” –Psalm 91:11

Did you know that one of the ways God carries out your deliverance and your protection is through angels? You literally have angels at your service.

You could hire a hundred natural men for your security, but they would be limited by natural things. Not so with angels. Angels operate under the authority of Jesus (1 Peter 3:22), and one of their jobs is ministering to believers. They are real. They are powerful. And if you are a believer, they are a vital part of your life.

So, dispatch angels around you, your family members, your home, your vehicles and any building you walk into. Say, “Ministering angels, I send you forth to protect my family according to Psalm 91.” Then, expect it!

Watch Kenneth Copeland and Jesse Duplantis discuss how angels are on assignment for you!

 7. Pray and Speak the Word

“His truth shall be your shield….” Psalm 91:4, NKJV

The Word of God is a weapon, a two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), so when we pray the Word, we pray right on target.

How can you pray for protection? Pray Psalm 91 over your home and family. Commit it to memory, and make it a part of your heart and spirit. Hang a copy somewhere in your home as a reminder of God’s promise of protection. You can even pray something as simple as, “I pray Psalm 91 protection over my home and family today.”

Put these seven strategies to work in your life and home, and watch the power of Psalm 91 build a fortress of protection that cannot be touched! The Word of God is a powerful force, and the devil is no match for it! God’s Word always produces fruit and accomplishes everything it says (Isaiah 55:11). Trust in God and rest in the protection and blessing only He can provide!

Gloria-isms on Faith

One thing Gloria knows well is how to walk by faith. She wasn’t raised in a Christian home, so she is well-versed in the art of starting from scratch. What she will tell you time and again is that faith in God changed her life.

The core of her teachings over the last 50 years has been the same—faith always gets results. Her mission is to share this truth with believers around the world, equipping them to pick up their faith like a sword, and use it to see victory in every area of their lives.

True to her style, Gloria-isms on faith are simple, while packing a powerful punch.

Gloria-ism No. 1:

“Faith is the answer to the storm.”

Gloria-ism No. 2:

“If you’re worrying, you’re not believing.”

Gloria-ism No. 3:

“If you can believe Him for it, God can produce it. That’s a fact.”

Gloria-ism No. 4:

“Fear brings bad things on you. Faith takes bad things from you.”

Gloria-ism No. 5:

“Laid-back faith is slooow. Aggressive faith changes things, people and circumstances.”

It’s a failure opportunity or a faith opportunity. It’s up to you to choose!

Gloria-ism No. 7:

“Faith takes it. That’s simple, isn’t it?”

Gloria-isms on Healing

If there’s anything Gloria Copeland is known for more than her pursuit and application of faith—it’s her commitment to seeing God’s people made whole. Of course, like many callings of God, it wasn’t anywhere near her idea.

She can still recall the day she was instructed by God to teach Healing School. It was outside her comfort zone, but being one to obey God, she agreed. That was more than 40 years ago. Gloria’s healing ministry has touched lives around the world and seen miracle after miracle. One thing Gloria wants you to know today no matter what your situation—God wants you well.

Gloria Copeland prays for your healing HERE.

Additionally, she wants you to know:

Watch Gloria Copeland share a powerful word in Healing School.

Gloria-isms on the Word of God

So many denominations and doctrines today have stepped away from the Word of God. They don’t want to teach the whole Bible, but rather, pick and choose what sounds good to them. Gloria Copeland has studied the Word of God, allowing the Holy Spirit to illuminate the truths within it, and refused to budge from her stand. She doesn’t change with the ebb and flow of society—she knows Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever—so she keeps her focus on Him.

As you listen to her teach faith, you’ll notice she references the Word of God in everything she says and does. That’s the secret to strong, immovable faith. So when Gloria talks about the Word of God, those seeking faith listen carefully! In true Gloria style, she has plenty of Gloria-isms to make what seems complicated easy to understand.

Gloria-ism No. 13:

“We need to eat the Word every day like we eat food.”

Gloria-ism No. 14:

“If you don’t know something, fix it—go the Word and find out.”

Gloria-ism No. 15:

“The moment you see you’re under pressure, run to the Word.”

Gloria-ism No. 16:

“You don’t meditate on the things you need. You meditate on the Word to enlarge your capacity to receive.”

Gloria-ism No. 17:

“It’s not mind over matter; it’s Word over matter.”

Gloria-ism No. 18:

“Faith is fed and maintained by the Word of God. You have to keep gas in the tank.”

Gloria-ism No. 19:

“You cannot overdose on the Word of God.”

Gloria-isms on Doubt, Worry and Unbelief

Gloria is adamant about the benefits of continually developing your faith. It is, she says, the only way to drive out fear and unbelief. If there’s even the smallest amount of unbelief, it will nullify your faith. That’s why she has spent years teaching believers not only how to increase in faith, but how to completely eliminate the debilitating effects of fear. We hope you’ll find a few of her Gloria-isms on doubt, worry and unbelief impactful and encouraging in your own pursuit of worry-free faith.

Gloria-ism No. 20:

“It’s dangerous not to be strong.”

Gloria-ism No. 21:

Faith isn’t for the faint of heart. Gloria’s advice? “Don’t be a wimp.”

Gloria-ism No. 22:

If you start to doubt, Gloria says, “Get over it.”

Gloria-ism No. 23:

“Dare to believe. Your decision opens the door to unlimited avenues of God’s provision.”

Gloria-isms on the Power of Words

One of the most powerful words Gloria has ever received from the Lord happened as she pondered on the words of Mark 11:23. He told her, In consistency lies the power. It’s a truth she has been living by ever since.

God was telling Gloria that the key to victory was not the thing a person says one time, but those things he says continually. From that moment on, she and Kenneth turned their words around. In doing so, they turned their lives around.

Every Gloria-ism about the power of words stems from the revelation she received from the Lord, including these.

Gloria-ism No. 24:

“You won’t get what you want; you’ll get what you say.”

Gloria-ism No. 25:

“Jesus said you can have what you say, so quit talking the problem.”

Gloria-ism No. 26:

“Your words are the thermostat of your life. You have today what you’ve been saying.”

Gloria-ism No. 27:

“Supernatural words coming out of your mouth will change natural circumstances. That’s easy, isn’t it?”

Her clear understanding of the Word of God concerning finances has impacted believers around the world for more than 40 years. She continually helps Christians of all ages overcome erroneous religious teaching and break free to receive everything God has in store for them.

If you desire to grow in the revelation of God’s will for you in the area of financial prosperity, these Gloria-isms, based on the Word of God, are a great place to start!

“We do some banking the world doesn’t do because we’re tithers and sowers.”

Gloria-isms On Debt

When Kenneth and Gloria first started out in faith, they were in deep debt. They were living in a rundown house with a rented rollaway bed, an old car and no hope of getting out of their situation any time soon.

What changed their situation?

Kenneth and Gloria had made the decision that whatever they saw in the Word of God, they were going to obey it—no matter what. Then one day, they came across Romans 13:8, which says, “Keep out of debt and owe no man anything” (AMPC). They didn’t own a home, they didn’t have a good car or furniture—so this was a shock!

But they renewed their minds to the Word of God and set out to obey Romans 13:8. From that point on, they stopped borrowing money. Ever. Within 11 months, they were debt-free!

They’ve operated Kenneth Copeland Ministries in the same way—completely debt-free. In doing so, they have saved millions of dollars in interest that was put toward spreading the gospel instead of into the hands of banking institutions.

It’s no wonder there are some great Gloria-isms about debt freedom!

Gloria-ism No. 38:

“What is the solution to being plastic dependent? Plastic surgery. Just cut up the cards.”

Gloria-ism No. 39:

“Your debt freedom is only one decision away.”

Gloria-ism No. 40:

“Debt can’t do for you what God can do.”

Gloria-ism No. 41:

“It’s cheaper to believe.”

Gloria-ism No. 42:

“The world will loan it to you. God will give it to you.”

Gloria-isms on Obedience

Gloria has always encouraged believers to live by obedience to the entire Word of God for maximum results. She often teaches that the level of your obedience will equal the level of your results. It’s no wonder she has Gloria-isms that speak this truth in a simple, powerful way.

Gloria-ism No. 43:

“On the other side of an act of obedience is always a good result.”

Gloria-ism No. 44:

“You have to qualify for promotion. You’ve got to give God something to work with.”

Gloria-ism No. 45:

“You stick with God, and God will stick with you.”

Gloria-isms on Prayer

Gloria has shared many times about the prayer decision that changed her life. When she was facing a particular struggle, she heard the Lord tell her to give a tithe of her time to Him in prayer. She began rising early each morning and praying in the spirit for an hour every day (something she still does to this day!) with only a few days missed here and there.

She’ll be the first to tell you—it changed her life and her circumstances dramatically. It is from her special time with the Lord that she has built a desire to share how much God wants to answer your prayers and manifest His glory—not just in emergency situations or when you cry out to Him now and then, but every day.

These Gloria-isms on prayer are nuggets of wisdom found in Gloria’s own personal prayer closet.

Gloria-ism No. 46:

“I’ve had less sleep, but I’ve lived life better.”

Gloria-ism No. 47:

“Praying in the spirit makes you smarter than yourself.”

Gloria-isms on Those Who Oppose Prosperity

It’s really no secret. Kenneth and Gloria take a lot of heat for teaching people that God wants them to prosper. It makes people uncomfortable to think they may be missing it in a particular area, and many don’t understand the difference between greed and a heart that uses abundance to serve God.

Their courage in continuing to stand for what they know is right—what is clearly outlined in God’s Word—is an inspiration. They won’t let the devil bully them out of teaching others their covenant rights!

Gloria wants you to enjoy prosperity in your health, relationships and yes—finances. She’ll keep talking about it all the days of her life, and we’re so grateful. You won’t find her arguing and fighting with those in opposition—that’s not her way. But there are some Gloria-isms on the subject that would be pretty tough to argue.

Gloria-ism No. 48:

“Who do you think is going to finance the gospel if everybody’s broke?”

Gloria-ism No. 49:

“Under the curse, you diminish. Things flow away from you. Under THE BLESSING, you increase. Things flow to you.”

Gloria-ism No. 50:

“I have increased, and I have decreased. Increase is better.”

We hope these 50 Gloria-isms have ministered to your life and faith, and maybe even blessed you with a smile. As you go forward in your own faith journey, perhaps some of Gloria’s takes on faith will pop up in your mind and give you that extra boost you need to keep fighting the good fight. As Gloria says, “Once you have a taste of victory, you won’t want to go back.” It really is that simple!
