How to Protect Your Finances During COVID-19

How to Protect Your Finances During COVID-19

Your life probably looks a lot different right now than it did just a few weeks ago. The long lines just to get into the grocery store, everyone wearing masks, and having to be intentional about not standing too close to others.

The effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) have changed our daily lives and, in many cases, left us wondering what the future holds—especially concerning the economy.

But know this:

Your financial prosperity is safe.

In fact, you can expect to prosper, even during uncertain times.

How can we be so sure?

Because your money isn’t subject to the government, the economy, your job or any other outside source. This planet doesn’t have any right to dictate to you whether your needs are met or not. The Bible says God will meet your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19)!

If you’re looking for clarity on how to approach finances in unprecedented times, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to protect your finances during COVID-19.

1. Use the Right Financial Advisor

In times of great challenge, the tendency of many is to switch over to fear and uncertainty—especially when considering finances. Here’s the problem:

Fear is a terrible financial advisor.

It’s a poor advisor in any circumstance, but when it comes to money, it can cause you to do the OPPOSITE of everything that will help you make it through the challenges. It will cause you to lean on “common sense” instead of faith, which is what opens the door to supernatural provision.

Have you made fear your financial advisor during this season?

Consider these symptoms of fear in finances during coronavirus:

  • Hoarding. (Sure, you need supplies for extended periods of quarantine, but you don’t need a year’s supply of toilet paper.)
  • Making panicky calls about your investments.
  • Staying up at night worrying about losing your job.

If this describes you, it’s time to switch to another, more competent, financial advisor. And that advisor is God Himself. What He says about your money is ALWAYS dependable, no matter what is happening around you.

What does He say?

Don’t be tempted to fear for your finances in the face of COVID-19. Have faith in God.

(Read a powerful story of supernatural investment advice HERE.)

2. Keep Honoring God

If you’ve faced a layoff or decrease in your income during the COVID-19 situation, we want to stand in agreement with you right now that new job opportunities, increase and supernatural financial breakthrough are yours in Jesus’ Name!

If you’re an obedient believer and a faithful tither, we believe you receive a double return for what the devil has stolen, just as Job did.

Keep standing on your faith, and don’t give in to fear. Don’t give in to the temptation to break off your connection to supernatural blessing—in other words, keep honoring God with your tithe to your local church. What you need now is for the windows of heaven to open over you. Malachi tells us the windows of heaven open for those who are faithful to tithe, no matter what is going on.

(Read a testimony of blessings from tithing during the Depression HERE.)

The Bible never instructs you to do something that isn’t for your good. If God is for you, nothing else can be against you.

3. Walk in the Spirit of Faith

When things like the coronavirus are attempting to dominate the thoughts and words of the entire world, that is the time to dig deep—to walk in a spirit of faith.

If you’ll dare to believe God’s Word, you can have light in the middle of a dark world. You can live prosperously in the middle of an impoverished world. You can have protection in the middle of a dangerous world. You can live healed in the middle of a sick world. And you can live free in the middle of a captive world.

But you can’t do it dragging around with an attitude of defeat. If you want to walk in victory in your finances during a time when our nation and world are facing the impact of COVID-19, you must develop a spirit of faith and persevere in that spirit—even when the devil is putting pressure on you.

To walk in a spirit of faith, you must do three things:

  • Feed on the Word.
  • Tune out the negative.
  • Speak the Word of God.

Walking in a spirit of faith—not by the flesh—is how you stay protected.

4. Speak What You Believe

If you’re listening to the news, your neighbors or anyone else who has an opinion about how the world is doing during the coronavirus, you’ll probably get an earful of negativity and doubt.

That’s why this is a critical time to be feeding your spirit the Word of God—regularly. It’s the only way to build up your faith.

That’s what the spirit of faith does. It stands in the middle of impossible circumstances—just like the financial effects of the coronavirus—and believes God anyway. Then it begins to speak. (Try our Powerhouse Confessions About Finances During Tough Times.)

Faith doesn’t just say anything. When bills stack up, faith doesn’t say, “I don’t have the money!” Faith says, “My God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all I can ask or think!”

“Well, I’m just not comfortable with that confession business. I like to believe God quietly.”

That may be what you like, but it’s not what the Bible teaches. The Bible says, we believe; therefore we speak (2 Corinthians 4:13).

If you want to change your financial circumstances during the COVID-19 situation, you must have faith in two places—your heart and your mouth.

As you walk in these ways to protect your finances during COVID-19, remember this:

God will provide you a job when there is no job. He will provide you with income when there is no possible way, in the natural, to get income. God will provide for you regardless of the world situation. Just keep your eyes on Him. He will never let you down!

Resurrection Power Defeats COVID-19!

Resurrection Power Defeats COVID-19

The most up-to-date headline regarding COVID-19 is more than 2,000 years old.

That’s right.

While we’re keeping current on precautionary measures and government-ordered quarantines, having just celebrated Resurrection Sunday, we cannot forget one thing: Resurrection Power Defeats COVID-19!

Leading up to the most important day in the history of the world, Jesus celebrated Passover with His disciples. It’s critical to remember the original Passover during a time when our nation is facing a similar threat.

Pharaoh had refused to let God’s people go time and again, despite nine resulting plagues. And now, the final plague was coming upon the Egyptians. But the plague was not meant to touch God’s chosen people. So He instructed them to “take some of the blood [of a sacrificed lamb] and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses” (Exodus 12:7, NIV).

“The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you” (verse 13, NIV).

That’s a message for you today. No destructive plague (including the coronavirus) will touch you when you apply the blood of Jesus—in faith.

The Prophecies

The parallel of the current situation surrounding COVID-19 and Passover is not a minor one, but one that was the subject of prophecies earlier this year.

In September 2019, this prophecy regarding the events we are facing today came through the prophet Chuck Pierce: “The nations will come to turmoil until Passover.”

Then, again, in January 2020, Chuck Pierce prophesied: “There will be a massive, plague-like invasion that will test us until Passover.” He also emphasized the importance of focusing on the word Passover and what it means to us as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

In March of 2020, Kenneth Copeland also received a word from the Lord: This disease called COVID-19 will be over much sooner than you think…. Give Me all the glory, saith the Spirit of Grace.”

Resurrection Power Defeats COVID-19

You may be asking, If that’s true, then why is this happening? Why are people dying?

Terrible events, natural disasters and catastrophes can be caused by many things. These include bad choices (Deuteronomy 30:19), the sinful nature of men (James 4:1-10), the devil and demonic forces (John 10:10), and the forces of nature that have been corrupted because sin entered the earth (Matthew 24:7). James 4:1-10 tells us that violence, wars, and fighting come from the hearts of men. Many people choose to reject the counsel of God, and the results of those actions bring about death.

No matter the cause, resurrection power defeats COVID-19 in the lives of those who believe on the Lord Jesus and receive, by faith, redemption from the curse (which included the coronavirus from the beginning). Think of that. Jesus took the coronavirus on Himself 2,000 years ago—long before we ever knew it would exist. He knew it would. And He took it for us.

Resurrection Power Secured Our Healing

Isaiah 53:5 tells us that Jesus’ sacrifice covered every area of man’s existence—sins, distress, worry and fear, as well as sickness and disease. That means Jesus Christ bore every possible disease that existed or ever would exist on that cross. He shed His blood so we could be healed.

JESUS DEFEATED COVID-19 AT THE CROSS.

It’s already done. The virus exists—and the devil is using it—but resurrection power always wins when we know what to do with it. All you have to do is believe it and appropriate the blood of Jesus over your life.

Learn How to Take Communion Over the Coronavirus HERE.

Resurrection Power Secured Our Protection

Exodus 12:13 says, “When I see the blood, I will pass over you.”

We don’t have to physically apply blood to our homes anymore to receive protection. Today, we apply the blood of Jesus to the doorposts of our lives by FAITH. Faith in the blood, faith in the promises of God, faith in the Giver of protection.

When Jesus walked the earth, laying hands on the sick, He never said, “The power of God has made you well,” or, “The will of God has made you well.” No. Again and again, He said, “Your faith has made you whole.”

The power of God and the will of God to heal is ALWAYS there. Faith is what releases the power.

The resurrection power of the blood of the Lamb is inexhaustible. It is an unlimited supply. When we apply the blood of Jesus, we secure protection from every part of the curse that tries to take residence, including COVID-19.

When you speak the Name of Jesus in the face of sickness, disease or danger, the blood of the Lamb is behind it, and you are protected!

Resurrection Power Gave You Authority Over the Devil

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” –Revelation 12:11 (KJV)

The devil knows, maybe even better than you do, the power and authority given to you by the blood of Jesus. He will try to keep you distracted, send media reports or ideas to confuse you, and plant seeds of doubt to keep you from operating in what belongs to you.

Well, his day is done. You are about to put him right under your feet where he belongs!

Watch Kenneth Copeland take authority over the coronavirus.

Of course, the curse is still out there. We’ve seen that with the recent events surrounding COVID-19. You can see it all around you, but now you have a choice—to use the blood or not. You have authority over every part of the curse in the Name of Jesus, and by the blood of Jesus, you can stand against it.

Learn How to Plead the Blood of Jesus HERE.

Every day you have the right to exercise that authority by pleading what the blood of Jesus has done for you. Refuse to give the enemy even one small inch of territory. Satan is a defeated foe, and through the precious blood of Jesus, resurrection power defeats COVID-19!

Let’s take the time this week, remembering our recent celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, to remember everything He secured for us. Honor Him by applying resurrection power to every area of your life and taking your protection and healing by faith. Above all, remember—resurrection power defeats COVID-19!

Our Prayer of Agreement for Victory Over the Coronavirus

Read through this prayer of agreement and release your faith for victory over the Coronavirus!

by Pastor George Pearsons

In times of crisis, people of faith stand together and refuse to panic. We release our faith for wisdom, health, provision, protection and freedom from fear. First John 5:4 tells us, “For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.”

Recently, I have been reading a powerful Word from the Lord that Brother Copeland delivered on August 6, 2010, at the Southwest Believers’ Convention. The entire word can be found at kcm.org/read/prophecies. Here is a small portion of that word: “The world is in serious trouble. But, for the household of faith and those that will cling to My Word and listen very carefully, everything is going to be all right. You will have to make a stand. You will have to fight the good fight of faith. But, when did you not have to do that?”

That is what we do.

Are you the Household of Faith?

Then, we are doing this together!

Also, Brother Copeland heard a word from the Lord regarding the timing of this virus on Friday, March 13.

“This disease called COVID-19 will be over much sooner than you think. Christian people all over this country who are praying have overwhelmed it. Give Me all the glory, saith the Spirit of grace. And many, many people will come to know Me through it. I am still the Lord over this nation, and I am on the throne and faith in Me changes things!” Read through this prayer of agreement. Say it out loud. Gather your family and let everyone be set to release their faith. Agree with every word. We are not just agreeing together. We are agreeing with God our Father and the Lord Jesus Himself.

Watch Kenneth Copeland deliver the Word of the Lord concerning COVID-19.

There is something powerful that takes place when believers agree in prayer according to God’s Word. His Word is an unbreakable covenant He has with us.

Matthew 18:18-20 is the foundation to our prayer of agreement. “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Let’s agree together right now.

Prayer of Agreement — Victory over the Coronavirus

Father, in the Name of Jesus, we stand in agreement together according to the Living Word of God. Jesus said in John 16:23 (AMPC), “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that My Father will grant you whatever you ask in My Name.” He said in Mark 11:24 (AMPC), “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].”

Concerning our covenant of health and welfare, we stand on Psalm 103:1-5.

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgives all our iniquities; who heals all our diseases; who redeems our lives from destruction; who crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfies our mouths with good things; so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

We are healed and made whole in the Name of Jesus. Our families walk in perfect health. We lift up all who have been affected by this virus and believe for their deliverance. Thank you, Lord for our good health.

Concerning our covenant of protection from disease, we stand on Psalm 91:10.

There shall no evil befall us, neither shall any plague come near our dwelling.

We are protected from all effects of Coronavirus. We take our authority in Christ over that disease right now. It will not touch us or any of our families. God has highly exalted Jesus, and has given Him a name which is above every name—that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of names in heaven, and names in earth, and names under the earth (Philippians 2:9,10). Coronavirus — you are a name. Bow your knee to the Name which is above every name — the Name of Jesus! Thank you, Lord for our protection from disease.

Concerning our covenant of provision, we stand on Philippians 4:19.

But our God shall supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

We believe together that God is the Source of everything we need during this time. He is our Provider and Supplier. We will not fall short financially or in any other way. Thank you, Lord for supplying everything we need.

Concerning our covenant of freedom from fear, we stand on 2 Timothy 1:7.

God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

We refuse to fear. We refuse to panic. We refuse to worry. We cast all the care and anxiety of this over onto You, because You care for us (1 Peter 5:7). Thank you, Lord for our freedom from fear.

Concerning our government and world governments, we stand on 1 Timothy 2:1-3.

First of all, we offer supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all men. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

We pray for the President of the United States (or the leader of your country), world leaders and all in authority to walk in the highest degree of God’s wisdom. We pray for the medical professionals, public health officials, first responders and all involved.

Concerning a world-wide move of God.

Because it is the will of God that all men be saved. And because the global door has been opened, we ask for a move of God across the entire world.

We pray for an Awakening in every nation to our Mighty Savior and Compassionate Healer. As a result, may all men know and declare Jesus is Lord!

We declare…

WE HAVE VICTORY OVER THE CORONAVIRUS IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

SATAN, WE BIND YOU AND YOUR FORCES AND RENDER YOU HELPLESS.

WE LOOSE OUR ANGELS TO GO FORTH AND MINISTER ON OUR BEHALF.

WE ARE HEALED, PROTECTED, PROSPEROUS AND FREE FROM FEAR.

WE PLEAD THE BLOOD OF JESUS OVER OUR LIVES.

WE OVERCOME BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB AND THE WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY, IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS!

A Personal Declaration of Psalm 91

Everything You Need to Know to Possess Your Promised Land in 2020

Everything You Need to know to Possess Your Promised Land in 2020

READING TIME: 6 MINUTES

When you think about the Israelites and their journey to Canaan, you likely think about one thing: the wandering—the drawn-out, ridiculously long wandering.

It was waiting for them all along: the land flowing with milk and honey, the protection, THE BLESSING. And yet, they wandered.

What about you? What is your promised land?

It might be a ministry, a church, a business, a family, freedom from lack or an addiction, or something else. No matter what it is, THE BLESSING always includes health and healing, prosperity, joy, peace and success. The good life!

Maybe you can see it in your heart, but taking possession of your promised land has eluded you year after year. And like the Israelites, you feel like you’re wandering. And wandering.

There’s good news for you today! The word of the Lord for 2020 through Kenneth Copeland tells us we can expect a year of new visions, manifest power and great change. What better way to see great change in your life than by possessing your own promised land THIS YEAR!

Are you ready to stop circling around your victory? Here’s everything you need to know to possess your promised land in 2020.

1. Think. Speak. Act.

This is a bit of a three-in-one. But they’re very closely related.

That’s because…

Your thinking—or believing—matters. And from it comes the way you speak and act.

Think of the Israelites. All they had to do to possess the Promised Land was THINK faith-filled thoughts about what God said, SPEAK faith-filled words that lined up with that faith, and then ACT on their faith by going up at once to possess it.

But instead, fear came in and dominated their thoughts, words and actions. And it cost them.

If you’ve been wandering without gaining entry into your promised land—without seeing great change—ask yourself what you’ve been thinking, saying and doing. When it looks like your promised land is nowhere to be found—Think. Speak. Act. Think like it’s already yours. Speak like it’s already yours. Act like it’s already yours. Because it is! God’s already given it to you. (Need help getting there? Try A Prayer to Possess Your Promised Land)

2. Make a choice to love.

If your believing, speaking and acting are in line, but you’ve been wandering for quite a while, the way you love is the next place to stop. Love is key to seeing great change in any and every area of your life.

You may think you’re good at walking in love, but your promised land will tell you otherwise. You need to make a choice to love—and not based on feelings.

What does this mean? It means:

  • You can’t tell your husband everything you’d like to.
  • You can’t just speak your mind to your wife without considering your words.
  • You can’t gossip about others—not even a little.
  • You can’t disrespect police, politicians, your boss, your kids’ teachers.
  • You can’t hold grudges against inconsiderate neighbors.
  • You cannot hold yourself in higher esteem than those around you.
  • You must FORGIVE. For real. No matter what.

If you want a GPS shortcut to your promised land, that avoids the traffic and construction, pay attention to the way you love. And remember, real love doesn’t rely on feelings. It is a CHOICE.

And when you’ve covered love…

3. Obey in all things.

If you’ve ever been stuck in traffic—as in, you could ride your bike home faster than your car is moving—you’ve had a taste of what your journey will be like to your promised land if you aren’t careful to obey. You must obey in all things—not just in most things.

If Moses were here, he would tell you a thing or two about disobedience (even in something small) and how it can lead to the elimination of the possibility of ever seeing your promised land.

Think about it. He wrote the first five books of the Bible. He experienced great signs and wonders.

And, he never made it to the Promised Land.

Why?

Disobedience.

Gloria Copeland is quick to point out, “Obedience determines your outcome.” And, by the way, there is no small area of disobedience. It is possible to miss God’s plan for your life by not paying attention to or obeying what He tells you to do—even when you think it’s too small to matter.

Watch Gloria Copeland and Pastor George Pearsons teach you how to live in a land that overflows with blessings.

4. Get rid of a grasshopper syndrome.

As much as disobedience can keep you wandering, a grasshopper syndrome is a sure way to keep you wandering around your promised land instead of taking possession.

The Israelites had a grasshopper syndrome. They said, “The people are stronger than we are. They’re huge. We look like grasshoppers compared to them” (Numbers 13:31-32, paraphrase).

Your grasshopper syndrome could sound something like this:

  • “But I don’t have a college degree.”
  • “I’m too old for that now.”
  • “No one will give me a chance.”
  • “I’ll never be able to pay off that debt.”
  • “I’ve already waited so long.”

As long as you’re making excuses and speaking a bad report, you won’t possess your promised land and see great change in 2020. Instead, be like Caleb (one of the only two originals who actually got into the Promised Land). Make your speech be of a good report—no matter how you feel or what it looks like.

Say, “I’m going for it. I am well able to overcome any obstacles. The promised land is mine!”

5. Fight off complaining with everything in you.

If you accomplish No. 4, you’ll be well on your way to mastering this key to success. That’s important because murmuring and complaining will delay the possession of your promised land indefinitely.

Complaining puts you in a powerless position. It says everyone else is in the driver’s seat of your life but you. It stirs up an ungrateful heart, and if you’re a believer in Christ, you have a whole list of things for which to be thankful.

It was God’s will for the Israelites to conquer, possess and enjoy the bounty of their Promised Land. But most of them didn’t get there because of COMPLAINING. Think about what you might be grumbling about:

  • How you slept last night.
  • The weather.
  • The traffic.
  • The government.
  • Your boss, your company, your co-workers.

Maybe you’ve even complained about God. “Why did those people get blessed, while I’m still waiting?” Or maybe, “I’ve been tithing, but I don’t see any blessings.”

Every time you complain, you go around in a circle and keep yourself from the great change you so desire. If you want to get off the 40-year plan and possess your promised land—fight complaining with everything in you.

6. Dip your toe in the water.

On the way to your promised land, God is going to ask you to do something. This may be where you are right now. You’ve worked on the first five steps, and now…here you sit…right at the water’s edge.

But to cross the Jordan, the Israelites had to make the first move (Joshua 3:8) before the waters parted for them. What move do you need to make? What step of faith will open the waters of the Jordan for you?

Stop procrastinating and step out of your comfort zone. Maybe you need to….

  • Start the chapter.
  • Make the call.
  • Submit the resumé.
  • Create the website.
  • Do that one thing you haven’t done yet (You know the one!).
  • Take that bold step.

Don’t get stuck waiting in the camp. Dip your toe in the water, and keep moving forward!

7. Believe. Wait. Repeat.

Once you’ve conquered everything we’ve talked about so far, the next step is simple: Believe. Wait. Repeat. Of the importance of waiting in faith, Gloria Copeland says, “We find out that a whole nation lost their salvation of the Promised Land because they listened to an evil report of unbelief, and in the same area of Scripture, it talks about an evil heart of unbelief. We don’t want that kind of heart.”

When you’re going up to possess your promised land, you’ve got to BELIEVE you’re going to see it. Begin to see yourself possessing it. See yourself living it. Close your eyes and spend time picturing yourself walking in that land. Declare it over yourself.

(Need help keeping the vision in front of you? Find out How to Create a Personal Vision Board for 2020 HERE.)

Then wait.

Wait in faith. And when you’re done waiting. Repeat.

Joshua and Caleb hung on to their belief for 40 years. They waited, and then they did this…

8. Prepare to fight.

It’s been a lot of work up to this point. But we can’t overlook God’s repeated instructions to Joshua, as he moved forward to possess the Promised Land.

“Be strong and courageous.”

If you’ve had this idea that you’ll just stroll into your promised land in flip-flops, holding an ice cream cone, you’re in for a rude awakening. The promises are for you. They belong to you, and yet, they’re not automatic. The Promised Land already belonged to the Israelites. God said, “I’ve given it to you.” But He also told them to go armed and take it. The taking-it part was going to involve a battle—but they were guaranteed the victory!

What does that mean for you?

  • Circumstances are going to battle you.
  • Your thoughts are going to fight against you.
  • Impossibility is going to stare you in the face—taunting you.

And you need to fight back. With your words, your giving and any act of faith you can put into motion.

Faith is spiritual courage backed by God. It is the capacity to meet danger and not give way to fear. When the opposition comes against you entering your promised land—and it will come—your job is to fight. You can do it. Be strong and courageous!

Now that you have everything you need to know to possess your promised land in 2020, it’s time to get moving and see a great change in your life. Your wandering days are over. What are you waiting for? Go at once and possess it!

Watch Bill Winston teach you why your future is inside you.

Stop Being Scared! 7 Ways to Overcome Fear for Great Change in 2020

7 Ways to Overcome Fear for Great Change in 2020

Put these 7 ways to overcome fear for great change into practice, and move into the greatest peace, joy and victory you’ve ever known.

READING TIME:  5 MINUTES

Fear of heights, fear of spiders, fear of snakes…

…fear of dying, fear of speaking, fear of rejection, fear of clowns, fear of…yes…peanut butter. The list of phobias is endless.

While many believe fears are normal or “healthy,” consider the definition of phobia:

“An exaggerated, usually inexplicable and illogical, fear of a particular object, class of objects or situation.”

In other words, fears have no logical reasoning behind them, nor do they serve a purpose. And that’s just the world’s view. According to God, fear is:

  • The opposite of faith, without which we cannot please God (Hebrews 11:6).

More than that, fear is under the curse of the law.

If you’ve been living with a fear—or multiple fears—this is your year to make a great change and overcome fear. That’s part of the message behind the word of the Lord through Kenneth Copeland for 2020, which is the year of new visions, manifest power and great change.

You have already been delivered from fear. Whenever you feel afraid—afraid to fly, afraid to swim, afraid to drive—remember Jesus bore that fear for you the same day He bore your sin, sicknesses and diseases.

It’s time to stop being scared! Put these seven ways to overcome fear for great change into practice, and move into the greatest peace, joy and victory you’ve ever known.

1. Watch What You’re Watching

Franklin Roosevelt had it right when he said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

Fear doesn’t prevent bad things from happening—it is often the cause.

Rick Renner shared about a time when he was in college, and he spent an entire weekend with his friends watching a marathon of over a dozen horror movies. Not only did it open the door for Rick to become very fearful in his life, but something even more severe began to occur.

For 15 years, Rick experienced not one, not two, but THREE instances where his life was being seriously threatened by another person—including people with violent histories. In fact, these situations were horror-movie material.

When Rick finally asked God what was going on, the Lord revealed that it all stemmed from the horror-movie marathon 15 years prior. The Lord told Rick he had opened the door to death and destruction in his life by watching those movies. Rick was able to repent and deal with the situation spiritually.

Whether you know it or not, images stay with you. Your brain is like a movie screen—the devil can and will use it against you. Watch what you’re watching. Your mind should not be feeding on fear, horror, murder mysteries, negative news or anything else fear-based.

2. Acknowledge the Author of Fear

To win the battle and overcome fear, you must acknowledge that it isn’t natural or healthy, but a strategy of the enemy against you. Satan is the author of fear. The sooner you recognize this, the sooner you can kick it to the curb.

Fear is never for you—its always against you. It has NEVER helped anyone but instead causes us harm (Psalm 37:8). That’s what the enemy is trying to do to you—hold you back, open doors to his tactics, and rob you of your blessing.

Whenever you start to feel any type of fear, remember the author. It will help you know what to do.

3. Refuse to Fear

When you know the source of fear, you know how to resist it.
Can you really make a choice not to feel something? Absolutely, 100 percent, without question. Emotions never belong in the driver’s seat of your life—you do! You can choose to love, choose to forgive and choose to live a life free of fear.

When you refuse to fear (resist the spirit of fear), it brings freedom and peace, and, oh…keeps the door shut on any attempts the devil has planned on your life. Whenever a fearful thought tries to creep in, be quick in your response. Say, “No. I refuse to fear.”

Watch Kenneth and Gloria Copeland teach you how fear opens the door to the devil.

4. Talk Back to Your Fears

When the devil feeds fearful thoughts to your mind, what is your response? For most Christians, the answer is, “Nothing.” Or, at best, they try to stop thinking the wrong thoughts. But, as Kenneth Copeland has often said, “You don’t fight thoughts with thoughts. You fight thoughts with words.”

When Satan tried to tempt Jesus, He didn’t try to outthink the devil. He took authority over him with His words. You need to do the same. When a fearful thought comes, respond immediately, out loud, with the Word of God.

5. Face Your Fears

One way to show the devil you have no intention of accepting his assignment of fear in your life is to face your fear. Kenneth Copeland did this very thing when he experienced fear in an elevator. He shares how he overcame the fear right at the moment.

“I got in an elevator at a hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, one time, that was out in the open and made of glass. At first, I wasn’t afraid, but when I got up to the glass and looked down four or five stories, my toes started curling. I had this intense sensation to get back away from that glass. Instead, I said, ‘No, you don’t. You’re not putting that on me.’

“I pressed my nose against that glass and forced myself to ride it up and down four or five times until the fear left. I’m not tolerating fear from somebody that’s already been whipped.”

Don’t accept fear in your life. Rebuke it and face it if the situation allows. Do the same thing Kenneth did, and let the devil know he won’t be putting any fear on you!

6. Cast Your Cares—For Real

What are your fears? Fear of a financial deficit? Fear of losing a relationship? Fear of losing a job? Fear of dying of a specific health condition? Whatever your fears, they don’t belong to you. Psalm 55:22 tells us if we give our cares to the Lord instead of keeping them ourselves, He will take care of them for us.

But if we insist on holding tightly to every care, concern, worry or fear, it blocks Him from moving on our behalf. You can go free of fear when you cast your cares on Him—for real. That means you don’t say you’re turning them over, then turn right around and start worrying again. Give your fears to the Lord—and leave them there.

7. Don’t Let the Fearful Bend Your Ear

Without knowing it, most people live in fear and negativity. And they talk it. A lot. This is where you’ll need to make some decisions. You don’t necessarily have to cut people out of your life, but you’ll want to limit your time spent with those who are a constant stream of fear and doubt.

You may think their fear and negativity won’t affect you, but what you stream into your eyes and ears becomes fuel for your mind, just as what you put in your body becomes fuel for it—whether healthy or damaging. So don’t let the fearful bend your ear—spend time with people who are positive and faith-filled. It will bring great change to your life and keep you free of the damages of fear.

So, are you ready to stop being scared? As you put these 7 Ways to Overcome Fear for Great Change in 2020 into practice, you’ll find yourself developing a new, faith-filled habit of walking in perfect peace. You don’t need to fear anything in this life! Jesus is for you, with you, protecting you, guiding you and blessing you every day. Have faith in God—it’s the only way to live a long and happy life!

KCBC Students on Fire for Souls

The Kenneth Copeland Bible College Personal Evangelism Class has been teaching students how to go to the highways and byways and compel people to come into the Kingdom of God! People of all ages, races, and cultures are being born again on the streets of Fort Worth and surrounding areas. The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is being preached and the love of God is being poured out from the hearts of men and women who have been trained in the Word of Faith to reach lost souls.

Riley Stephenson and Pastor Brian Sanders teach the Personal Evangelism Class at KCBC during the Spring semester. Students are trained, equipped, and mobilized to share Jesus by faith. Here are a few of their testimonies:

“I learned so much in Evangelism Class, not only from the Instructors but also from other students. So many of them had similar thoughts and questions as I did. That was very enlightening and helpful to me and made me feel more comfortable with the process. Now when I go on an outreach event, I have more confidence that people are actually being saved by choice, not by arm twisting. It makes the whole process more fun and less pressured, being sure I’m not arm twisting. And as I approach various people, if they don’t care to pray the salvation prayer, I learned in class that I’m sowing seed and the opportunity will be available for the next believer to witness to them.” – V.V.

“Personal Evangelism Class has been a real learning experience. I have always had trouble talking to people I do not know. I have learned that I can be bold as a lion through the leading of the Holy Spirit. We have used scriptures such as Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, and Romans 10:13 to inject the people with the Word of God and the Word will not return void. This has been such a great experience, to talk openly with God-given boldness about my Lord and Savior with loved ones, friends, and neighbors. God has opened the doors for several family members and neighbors to receive Christ.” – Carole H.

“I learned how to avoid strife and maintain a good witness. Also, it’s not me saving anyone; it’s the Word itself. I’m the conduit that the Holy Spirit uses and the Holy Spirit helps us as we are obedient to pray before we go, bind the strong man and then expect that souls will be saved, people will be healed, some will be baptized in the Holy Spirit and everyone we come in contact with will be blessed. It’s been a great class.” – Cathy A.

“The Love of The Father for us and for how much He loves people ministered to me. Through this time of COVID-19, I have been able to lead my uncle to the Lord! I prayed for my aunt to be healed from suffering 10 days of symptoms from the virus and led her to rededicate her life back to Jesus and be filled with The Holy Spirit with evidence of tongues!” – Elisha N.

“Guess what, Riley? My future son-in-law got saved!” – Kia F.

“I was blessed to serve on a Saturday morning outreach. The team caravanned to the shopping center in Lake Worth, TX with the purpose of sharing the Gospel. I was partnered with a mighty man of God born in Nigeria who attends Eagle Mountain Church regularly. Together we prayed and then entered a Mattress Store, poised to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Immediately, we connected with the lone employee, a young girl who was kind and outgoing. As I built a conversation, my partner discerned the perfect time to strike with Scripture. Interestingly, this young woman knew God; her grandmother was a strong woman of faith. However, she did have a need. The need was prayer for focus and renewed strength while gaining comfort for her recently deceased grandmother.

Following prayer, we used our training and invited her to church as well as to complete an information card for future contact. Though we did not incorporate the Romans Road on this encounter, others tools learned and acquired were put to use.

Overall, I am so thankful to Pastor Brian and Riley for teaching me proven, spirit-led evangelism. The tools acquired will be used and prayerfully lead many into God’s kingdom!” – Michael C.

“Through the insight of Evangelism class, I was able to glean the realization of the anointing available to meet the task at hand. This experience has impacted me in such a profound way. It has been just as life changing to me as it’s been to the individuals I ministered to. I am able to see Jesus imparting in me a love for the lost and the ability and anointing to reach into the hearts of everyday ordinary men. This has provided me with a new definition of evangelism.” – Wayne M.

Ready for Great Change in 2020? 3 Reasons It Starts at Church

Ready for Great Change in 2020? 3 Reasons It Starts at Church

READING TIME: 4 MINUTES

Stop going to church.

You never thought you’d hear that from us, did you?

Here’s the reason why.

When you just show up every week at a church service, you’re shortchanging yourself, and you’re keeping yourself stuck right where you are in life. Which, if you’re merely a church attendee, is probably the same place you were this time last year.

But if you want to see the kind of change Kenneth Copeland talked about in the word of the Lord for 2020, which is the Year of New Visions, Manifest Power and Great Change, you’re going to have to start by being the change. You can’t live the same way year after year and expect a different outcome.

You can bring great change to your life this year if you stop just going to church and start PLANTING YOURSELF in the house of God. When you do, you’ll see firsthand how great change in your life starts at church.

Here are 3 reasons why…

1. Your Church Will Help You Financially

If you attend church once in a while and throw a couple bucks in the plate now and then, you’re not planted in the house of God.

What does it mean to be planted?

It means you don’t hop from one church to another. You’re committed. It’s your church. You faithfully attend services, you tithe regularly, you serve and you give. You’re involved and invested in its success. And you want to be an active part of the family of God.

Why is it important to be planted?

Some people like to think they’re checking a box by attending church, but Psalm 92:13 says, “Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God” (NKJV, emphasis added). Flourish in what? Flourish in everything—including financially.

When you’re planted in a church, here is how it will bring great change to you financially:

  • A good church will teach you about the biblical principles of handling money.
  • Being planted in a church gives you the wonderful opportunity to tithe, which is a supernatural setup for financial success. (Find out what your tither’s rights are HERE.)
  • When you sow into a church or ministry, you WILL reap a harvest. (Galatians 6:7

Watch Jason and Lacy Kennedy share their testimony of tithing to their local church and the breakthrough they experienced in their business.

You can expect to flourish financially when you have a church where you are intentional about being planted. But if you don’t allow yourself the opportunity to thrive, you’ll be like a wildflower that’s pulled from the ground. It stays looking beautiful for a while as if nothing happened. But it isn’t long before it begins to wilt and wither from a lack of roots planted in good soil.

You can see great change in your finances this year, and it all starts at church!

2. Your Church Will Help Your Relationships

Finances aren’t the only area where you can expect to flourish when you’re planted in the house of God. Weekly church attendance has been proven to keep marriages happy and healthy, prevent depression in young people, and foster strong friendships. More than that, being involved in your church is an open door of opportunity for divine connections.

That’s why God instructs us not to give up meeting together (Hebrews 10:25). God is looking to do a mighty work in your life, and quite often, He will use another believer to encourage you, bless you and invest in you.

But if you aren’t there, how will you receive these things?

God didn’t create us to live separately from one another or isolate ourselves. In fact, He warns against it in Proverbs 18:1, which says, “A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment” (NKJV).

If you think popping in and out of church and neglecting to develop relationships with your brothers and sisters in Christ is “good enough,” you’re missing it. Sometimes it’s a lack of commitment to the things of God. Still, others avoid forging great friendships within the church walls because of past experiences.

Maybe you’ve heard the saying, “Church hurts are the worst hurts.” A lot of people get burned by someone in church, then pull back in suspicion and fear of others. But while there will always be that guy or gal, you cannot allow yourself to uproot from the church.

Great change comes to those who are intentional about being planted in the house of God for these very important reasons:

  1. Because God said so. (Hebrews 10:25)
  2. Because iron sharpens iron. (Proverbs 27:17)
  3. To bear each other’s burdens. (Galatians 6:2)
  4. To find (and be) a Titus 2 mentor.

Many of us have experienced hurt in the church, but it cannot become an excuse to refuse to be planted in the house of God. Too many blessings await those who will take ownership of their church and become active family members.

Kenneth Copeland says, “I believe in the local church. It is the most important thing on earth. That’s where God’s families are.”

You need the church, and the church needs you! And great change in your life will be a welcome result.

3. Your Church Will Help You Spiritually

Church attendance is great, and you may feel like you’ve checked the box. But what are you missing out on spiritually by not being fully planted in the house?

Something SUPERNATURAL happens when a believer honors God’s Word and commits to being part of His Church, rather than just continuing as a spectator. Answers to your pressing questions will come more quickly, supernatural interventions will occur more frequently, impartations will flow more freely.

Being planted is being obedient, and obedience is a prerequisite for promotion. Great change is just waiting to happen in your life—and it all starts at church.

(Use our Checklist for Choosing the Right Church HERE.)

You can expect to see promotion and great change in your life when you:

  1. Attend church weekly.
  2. Tithe and give regularly.
  3. Serve in your church.

When you seek God first (in spending time with Him and obeying His Word) in everything you do, you can be confident that you will receive the desires of your heart (Matthew 6:33; Psalm 37:4).

The Power of Being Planted

Wherever you’ve been this past year, you can see a great change by making this simple adjustment in your life: Become rooted and planted in your church. When you lay down spiritual roots with God, you will begin walking in His perfect will, not just His permissive will. He will create all kinds of divine connections, and the doors of favor will open up for you to walk through.
