Americans feeding Americans.

That was the theme of a special ministry event that took place February 2 when Life Unlimited Ministries in Fort Worth, TX, a KCM Partner, teamed up with the national Feed The Children organization and the NFL Players Association to help feed 800 families in the Fort Worth area.

The event, held at the Life Unlimited food distribution center in Fort Worth, was part of Feed The Children’s Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has helped feed more than 210,000 families across the country since 2009. Life Unlimited Ministries, a KCM Partner for over 12 years, is operated by Larry Joe and Linda Wright and Larry Joe Wright Evangelistic Association. The association is also a partner agency of Feed The Children.

Several volunteers from Kenneth Copeland Ministries and Eagle Mountain International Church were among the many who braved the icy roads and 12-degree temperatures to assist as NFL players handed out hundreds of 25-pound boxes of food and other necessities to families during the giveaway.

“It is important that we realize how blessed we are and that we give back and don’t just take, and that’s what these players are doing,” said Fort Worth mayor Mike Moncreif, who attended the event with his wife, Rosie. “This sends a message that people care, that no matter how dismal or alone you might feel, you’re not alone. These players, who have been blessed to enjoy this game and all the attention that it’s brought, all the opportunities it has given them, are saying ‘We don’t want to forget about you; we want to give back and make a difference.’ ”

Active and former NFL players who participated in the giveaway included John Booty, Nolan Harrison, Scottie Graham, Jesse Holley, Martellus Bennett, Isaiah Stanback and Warren Moon.
