Assurance That It Is God’s Will To Heal YOU

rock formations in a desert

Do you find it easier to stand in faith for others to receive healing than it is to believe for yourself to receive it? Sometimes, it’s far easier to believe God wants and wills to heal someone else, isn’t it? But the truth is it is God’s will to heal you.

When Jesus walked the earth, He assured of this saying:

“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 6:38, NKJV).

The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does” (John 5:19, NIV).

“For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken” (John 12:49, NIV).

If Jesus came from heaven to only do the will of His Father, to only speak what His Father told Him to speak, and to do only what His Father told Him to do, what is it that we see on the pages of Scripture that Jesus spent His time doing?

Matthew 10 gives us a very clear picture: “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease…. These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: ‘Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give’” (Matthew 10:1, 5-8, NKJV).

Luke 10 tells us more: “Now after this the Lord chose and appointed seventy others and sent them out ahead of Him, two by two, into every town and place where He Himself was about to come (visit)” (Luke 10:1, AMPC).

Then Jesus goes on to say: The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house…. And heal the sick that are therein” (Luke 10:2-9, KJV).

From these Scriptures, there should be no doubt, no argument, no wondering whether it is God’s will to heal the sick. These verses give you the assurance needed that it is God’s will to heal you. God is for you, and He wants you to settle this in your heart, so you can receive your healing!

The Misuse of Praying, “If it be Your will…”

If all this is true—and it is—then why do some people pray with the phrase, “If it be Your will, God, please heal…”? Perhaps, they get this phrase from when Jesus was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, right before He was to be arrested and eventually hung on the cross. He prayed to His heavenly Father saying, “If it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done” (Luke 22:42, NKJV).

It’s important to understand that Jesus wasn’t praying about healing. He wasn’t asking His heavenly Father to heal His body, because He wasn’t sick. Rather, He was fully the Son of God who knew what He was about to experience as fully man—His crucifixion. As Kenneth Copeland has said, “Jesus still had flesh, but the glory of God was flowing in His veins. He poured His blood out on the heavenly mercy seat so that we could be healed and well.”

Nowhere in Scripture did Jesus demonstrate for us to pray, “If it be Your will,” in relationship to healing; therefore, it should not be a part of how we pray when we want God to heal us. Rather, we should pray according to, and in alignment with, the Word of God, which clearly shows us it is God’s will to heal every single one of us!

We Receive Our Healing by Faith

When Cornelius the centurion sent word for Jesus to come and heal his servant, he left his home and met Jesus as He was on His way (Luke 7:1-6). Cornelius told Jesus that he was not worthy for Jesus to come under his roof, “but say the Word and let my servant be healed.” To which Jesus marveled and said, “’I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!’ And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick” (Luke 7:7-10, NKJV).

Later, after Jesus was in heaven, Peter preached in Cornelius’ house saying, “…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38, NKJV).

We Receive Our Healing by Speaking Our Faith

Matthew records the centurion as saying to Jesus, “Speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed” (Matthew 8:8, KJV)

To receive our healing by faith, we speak faith. We speak faith by speaking the Word of God. We pray it. We confess it. We profess it. We declare it. And we do that until we receive it. Until we have manifestation of our healing.

Do you want to be healed? Do you believe it is God’s will to heal you? Start speaking it out of your mouth!

Jesus Is Still Willing

In Mark 1:32-39, Jesus was doing what His Father said to do—He was healing the sick.

“At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him [Jesus] all who were sick and those who were demon-possessed. And the whole city was gathered together at the door. Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.”

The next morning, He spent time with His heavenly Father, to hear what to do next and then He did it.

“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. When they found Him, they said to Him, ‘Everyone is looking for You.’

“But He said to them, ‘Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.’

“And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons.”

Next, the Scripture tells us the best news of all because it shows us how Jesus is always willing to heal.

“Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, ‘If You are willing, You can make me clean.’

“Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, ‘I am willing; be cleansed.’ As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed” (Mark 1:40-42).

Jesus Is Willing To Heal You Today

Jesus is willing to heal you—no matter your affliction. In Luke 5, He healed a man who had a stroke, something we might think isn’t reversible. In John 5, He healed the man who had laid by the pool of Bethesda for 38 years. How long you’ve been sick doesn’t matter. In Luke 8, He healed a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years, who’d spent her savings on medical treatment, who risked it all to reach Him. However your condition makes you feel mentally, emotionally or physically doesn’t matter. Jesus cares about you in every way—and it is His will to heal you. Even if it’s a miracle that you need.

Do you need a healing miracle? Receive now the assurance that it is God’s will to heal you, and receive your miracle today. Have faith in God. Isn’t that what Jesus said? “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22, KJV). This also can be accurately translated as, “Have the faith of God, or have the God kind of faith.” Doesn’t the faith we have come from God to begin with? Yes. (See Romans 12:3). So use the faith God gave you to receive from Him what He willingly has given you—your healing, your miracle!

5 Ways To Let THE BLESSING Do the Work

woman sitting alone on a bench on a rocky beach

Do you feel like you’re working and struggling to achieve your dreams? You’re not meant to do all the work! Find out how THE BLESSING will get you there.

Toiling and working, and working and toiling. Does that sound like your life? Sometimes it can feel like you’re spinning your wheels and getting nowhere—struggling to advance but facing setback after setback, or simply staying in the same place year after year. Certainly, there is an adversary who is always ready and willing to throw hindrances your way, but what if increase and advancement could be achieved with a simple tweak in your thinking?

THE BLESSING of the Lord was established by God to enforce all your covenant rights and advance you along in life, but sometimes it can be tempting to flip over to the natural and try to take the reins yourself. The unintended consequence ends up including delay and frustration.

God has put in each one of us the natural instinct to work hard, but we must balance our own work with a submission to the supernatural. If you’re ready to stop running, struggling and toiling to reach your dreams, goals and vision—begin to change your thinking with these five ways to put THE BLESSING to work in your life.

1. Let THE BLESSING Make You Rich

“The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” –Proverbs 10:22 (NKJV)

In this verse, that word translated sorrow literally means “to toil.” Now, there’s nothing wrong with work. The Bible says, “If you don’t work, you don’t eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10, MSG). Work is a requirement for advancement, and the Bible is clear that diligence is required for promotion, increase and wealth. However, there is a difference between work and toil.

Work is putting your hands to something, so God can prosper and increase you (Deuteronomy 28:8). Toil is taking the responsibility and pressure of provision onto yourself. Some Christians have argued, “Well, I have to earn a living.”

Of this reasoning, Kenneth Copeland says this:

“Did you earn your salvation? No. You got it by grace and through faith. Did you earn the baptism in the Holy Ghost? How did you get it? Did you earn healing? How did you get that? Well, what makes you think you have to earn your money?”

You need to work, but you don’t need to make your own living. If you gather it for yourself, it works like a bag with holes in it. THE BLESSING of the Lord is what makes you rich—He makes you rich. The more you study, the more you’ll realize that THE BLESSING of the Lord, is the glory of the Lord, is the Spirit of the Lord, is the Lord Himself. He is THE BLESSING.

You don’t have to toil to be rich. A janitor can be rich and have a jet. Maybe you’re thinking, What does a janitor need with a jet? Well, it depends on what he does on the weekends! Maybe he’s preaching to the world on the weekends. If a man or woman is on assignment for Jesus, then that person does not live on his or her salary alone.

Each year when his board of directors determines his salary, Jerry Savelle—after thanking them—makes a personal declaration saying, “My salary is not my income. God is the source of my income, and my income will far exceed my salary.”

The same is true for you. You’re called to work, but not to struggle or toil. How do you do this? You do your work as working for the Lord, and you shift your mindset over to believing your income will far exceed your salary because God, not your salary, is your Source. You begin to rest and not worry about your finances, and you give your financial cares over to the Lord. Jesus went to great lengths to secure THE BLESSING for you, so you could be made rich and become a BLESSING to the world around you. His intention is for you to be made wealthy, not just for your own enjoyment, but for the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

When you prosper, you can bring THE BLESSING to the dark places of the world around you. Wealthy believers are Satan’s worst nightmare. They fund ministries, they support missionaries, and they pay off houses and cars.

Watch Gloria Copeland and Pastor George Pearsons share how THE BLESSING is more than enough.

When you come across someone in need—a single mom who is struggling and needs a car, for example—and you’re living on THE BLESSING, you don’t just sit there—you buy the car! That’s why now is the time to become BLESSING-minded and know that it isn’t your job, but THE BLESSING, that will make you rich!

2. Let THE BLESSING Promote You

“The houses will be richly stocked with goods you did not produce. You will draw water from cisterns you did not dig, and you will eat from vineyards and olive trees you did not plant.” –Deuteronomy 6:11 (NLT)

So many times, Christians feel the need to fight their way to the top. There are even some who are willing to vote with those who promote immorality to protect their Social Security, Medicare or anything else they feel will help them advance in life. But God put THE BLESSING in place so we don’t have to toil, struggle or rely on man to be promoted in any area of our lives.

THE BLESSING will promote you even when you aren’t qualified in the natural. It will promote you when the world says you aren’t enough; it will promote you when you’ve had one setback after another; it will promote you when you’re surrounded by enemies who want to keep you from ever reaching your destination. But you have to let THE BLESSING do the work.

When you’re operating in the natural, you edge out the supernatural because you’re putting the energy of your faith toward yourself, rather than toward God. When you learn to step back and stop fighting in your own strength and allow God to promote you, you’ll see advancements you never dreamed possible. As Kenneth Copeland says, “THE BLESSING will make a somebody out of nobody.”

That’s what happened to Joseph when he was given a dream and vision for his life. That dream all but died right there in the pit where his brothers threw him. There was nothing he could do to promote himself out of that situation. But THE BLESSING was there—that’s what kept his brothers from killing him. THE BLESSING is what sent that caravan from Egypt to the right place and the right time, to fish him out of his pit and off to his destiny.

Feeling like you aren’t moving forward in life? Find out 3 Things to Do When You Feel Stuck.

Are you in a pit today? Have you been stuck in a place where it seems there is no way out or no possibility of advancement? Take a step back and invite God into your situation. Let THE BLESSING do the work and promote you to positions you’re not qualified for, to houses that have always seemed out of your price range, to ministries that seemed so far off, and to relationships you could never establish on your own.

Joseph was in a situation where he could do nothing on his own. He was a slave and then a prisoner, but the Bible says, “The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered” (Genesis 39:2, NIV). Notice, it doesn’t say Joseph prospered because of his race, his influential family, his education, his social status or his intelligence. No, THE BLESSING is what made Joseph prosper and receive a promotion to the second most powerful position in the world.

THE BLESSING of the Lord doesn’t care where you are or where you came from. Stop fighting the world and trying to prove yourself. Let THE BLESSING promote you, and you’ll find yourself in a palace!

3. Let THE BLESSING Defend You

“The Lord is your mighty defender.” –Deuteronomy 32:4 (GNT)

When you’ve been wronged, slighted or downright betrayed, do you spring into action to defend yourself? When you’ve been wronged, it can be tempting to rise up and take action, and sometimes the Lord will tell you to do just that. However, you shouldn’t defend yourself without His backing.

Joseph never defended himself against Potiphar. He didn’t spend time fighting to get out of prison. He waited, and he let THE BLESSING take care of it. It didn’t happen overnight, but God avenged him in every way possible. There is no defender greater than our God.

You don’t have to fight your own fight. You don’t have to defend yourself and look out for your own rights. If you humble yourself and step out of the way, THE BLESSING will go ahead of you and prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies.

This is an important lesson to learn because when you walk in THE BLESSING, you will be persecuted. You will have a hundredfold return, with houses and lands that come from THE BLESSING, along with persecutions (Mark 10:30). THE BLESSING on you will make people envious of you, and they will persecute you. But don’t pay any attention to it.

Watch Gloria Copeland and Pastor George Pearsons teach about God’s supernatural system of promotion.

Clothe yourself with humility. Cast your cares over on Jesus. When you put the situation that has concerned you into His hands and say to Him, “Lord, will You take care of this for me?” He says, “Of course I will!”

4. Let THE BLESSING Anoint You

“His anointing teaches you about all things.”—1 John 2:27 (NIV)

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Depending on your personality type, that will either be easy or tough to handle! Have you ever run up against a situation and thought, This is hopeless or I’ll never be able to do that? Well, think again. No situation is hopeless when you factor in the anointing. The anointing factor is the very power of God at work in your situation.

It is God doing those things in your life that only God can do. When your mind and flesh try to take over in these situations, you soon realize, I just don’t have the strength. I don’t have what it takes to combat this thing and win against it. That’s when you can step back and allow the power of God in your spirit—the anointing—to take over.

THE BLESSING will anoint you to fight your battles and prosper even in a famine. Think about it—how did Joseph know how to run a ranch and a wealthy man’s property? THE BLESSING of the Lord gave him the mind of Christ—the mind of the Anointed One. THE BLESSING anointed Joseph, who made Potiphar rich, and then made Pharaoh the richest man in the world.

The same anointing that was on the mind of Jesus when He was ministering on this earth is the same anointing available to you right now. But it has to be obtained and released by faith.

That’s why Abraham was so strong in faith—He was BLESSED! He learned how to receive and how to depend on THE BLESSING. As long as he depended on it, it didn’t matter where he dug a hole—he hit water.

People will always tell you why you can’t do something. But once you find out the will of God for you, confer no longer with flesh and blood. Let THE BLESSING take you where no one thinks you can go. THE BLESSING will bring you revelation knowledge. It is the gateway to the supernatural.

When you’re facing a situation, a goal or a job that requires anointing, don’t wear yourself out, wracking your brain hour after hour, searching every nook and cranny for the answer. If you knew what to do, it wouldn’t be a trial. So, count it all joy, and sit down in God’s rest, believing His wisdom is on the way.

You have a covenant right to expect the power of God in your life to work on your behalf. Factor in the power of God’s Word. Factor in the power of His Spirit. Factor in the Anointing. Let THE BLESSING do the work, and watch those circumstances change!

5. Let THE BLESSING Preach the Gospel

“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” –John 10:10 (ESV)

It’s fun to talk about the ways THE BLESSING can make us rich, promote us, defend us and anoint us, but above all, THE BLESSING preaches the gospel to a lost world. When you’re living in THE BLESSING, you aren’t spending your time worrying or toiling—you have the time, energy, money and anointing to minister to others, and you’re an example of what it looks like to be a child of the Most High God.

When you’re walking and living in THE BLESSING, you shine a light in a dark world. People will naturally be drawn to you—they’ll want what you have! Everyone wants to live BLESSED, and you’ll know how to help them get there. THE BLESSING is the gospel of Jesus Christ! Take it and be a witness as He’s called you to do.

It’s time to put THE BLESSING to work in every area of your life! Any area of your life where you’ve been held back, there’s only one thing missing—THE BLESSING. No more toiling, no more struggling, no more standing in a defensive posture, and no more guesswork—let THE BLESSING do the work for you!

How to Find the Key Issue to Any Problem and Fix It

caution cone in a broken block of pavement

There is a God solution to every problem you will ever face and for every situation you will ever walk through. What’s more, as a believer, you are anointed to solve problems. We need to rely on God and His Word with finding the key issue to any problem. The Word tells us in the Old Testament that Daniel had an excellent spirit, which meant he knew how to solve problems—and the way he did it is available to us today.

“There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners.

“Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means” (Daniel 5:11-12, NIV)

Like Daniel, we are anointed to solve difficult problems, and the way we solve problems is the same way Daniel did—with God’s wisdom. Did you see that in verse 11? Daniel was found to have insight, intelligence and wisdom.

  • Are you facing something that you aren’t sure how to resolve?
  • Are there situations putting pressure on you?
  • Are there issues that have been totally consuming your thinking?
  • Are there problems keeping you up at night? And then talking to you when you wake up in the morning?

Sometimes, it can seem like the devil is sitting at the foot of your bed just waiting for you to wake up, so he can incite fear and worry before your feet hit the floor. The good news is that you don’t have to live like that, ever. You are already anointed to discover the answer you need, and the answer begins with getting God’s wisdom. Proverbs 4:7-13 makes this clear:

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straightened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life” (KJV).

Reread that first line. “Wisdom is the principal thing.” With whatever you’re facing right now; whatever is going on in your life; whatever is keeping you awake at night; whatever is talking to you first thing in the morning; wisdom is the principal thing that you need.

Proverbs 4:7 in the New Living Translation tells us, “Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.”

So What Is Wisdom Exactly?

Wisdom is the ability to use knowledge. Colossians 1:9 says, “For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things” (AMPC).

What a great working definition of wisdom: “the comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God.” Comprehensive means “complete.” Insight means “the ability to clearly see into a situation.”

God has comprehensive coverage—comprehensive insight—for you for every aspect of every situation you’re facing or ever will face. He has everything covered! There’s not one problem in your life that’s ever taken Him by surprise, and He knows how to fix every single one of them. To finding the key issue to any problem, we need to ask Him for His wisdom.

Wisdom Gets to the Heart of the Matter

Proverbs 2:6-7 says, “For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He hides away sound and godly Wisdom and stores it for the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him); He is a shield to those who walk uprightly and in integrity” (AMPC).

Wisdom is the principal thing that gets to the heart of the matter every time. You could say it this way: Every situation has a key issue. For example, years ago, Brother Copeland suffered from severe joint pain. So, he took it to the Lord in prayer and asked Him, “What is the key issue to this?”

Brother Copeland had plenty of ideas of what he could take for the joint pain or rub on it, but he wanted God’s mind on it. At the time, Brother Copeland was drinking 16 cups of coffee a day. When he heard the Lord tell him the answer, it was with three words: “Stop drinking coffee.” That was the key issue. That was the wisdom of God. So he stopped, and the joint pain he was experiencing stopped.

Has the Lord told you to stop doing something or start doing something that’s possibly connected to the problem you want solved? Then do it. That’s God giving you His wisdom; that’s God giving you the key issue to resolve the problem.

3 Steps To Finding the Key Issue To Any Problem

When we gain understanding of the key issue of any matter, we’re experiencing the wisdom of God—and the wisdom of God is what guides us to the answer, if we’ll let it. It’s so important to not let the pressure of any problem or situation pull you off course and away from God’s answer. Pressure will eat you up, won’t it? Pressure will make you do things you later regret. Pressure will lie to you and cause you to make wrong decisions. So get God’s wisdom first and resist the pressure to do otherwise.

To help you, here are three steps to finding the key issue to any problem:

1. Commit one to three days to pray about that one problem keeping you up at night and nothing else.

Pastors George and Terri Pearsons did this years ago when they were in debt and wanted to be debt free. In those three days, God showed them the key issue. He gave them His wisdom, and that wisdom empowered them to become debt free. James 1:5 promises us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (NIV). God gives us wisdom liberally when we ask for it.

When we set time aside like this, and focus on only one issue, Brother Copeland has said, “The LORD will take care of all the other issues as you focus on the one.”

2. Pray out the wisdom of God (or key issue) in tongues.

First Corinthians 14:2 (AMPC) promises us: “For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].”

When we pray in tongues, God is faithful to give us the interpretation. When we pray in the spirit, we speak God’s wisdom, we speak out mysteries, and God then reveals those mysteries and His wisdom to us. Brother Oral Roberts said that praying in tongues is dipping the bucket down into the well of wisdom and knowledge, and pulling it back up.

3. Pray until you know what to do.

Ephesians 1:16-18 (KJV) says, “[I] cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.”

Time can be your friend or your enemy. If you owe a certain amount of money by a specific date, for example, what will you do between now and that moment? You can either worry and get no sleep, or you can pray in the Holy Spirit, building yourself up in your most holy faith (Jude 20) and allowing the wisdom of God to flow through you. You get to decide what to do with your time, because you are the one who tells time what to do. The best decision is to say, “Time, I do not serve you; you serve me.”

As you put all this into practice, remember not to make a move until you have received the wisdom of God. And add to all this the revelation gifts of the Spirit: the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, and the discerning of spirits (1 Corinthians 12:8-10). As you do, the answer will come, and when it does, it will look like the easiest thing you’ve ever done. That doesn’t mean it will be easy, but wisdom has a way of changing our perspective and our hearts to want to do what God says and to do it His way.

How To Cultivate a Heart That Receives

row of mailboxes on a rural road

Have you been waiting to receive God’s promises in your life? God’s Word is clear—His will for you is wholeness, abundance, peace and blessing in every area of your life. But maybe today there are areas in your life where His will isn’t being done—pressing needs and desires about which His promises don’t seem to be manifesting.

If this resonates with you, it’s time to go to the garden of your heart and see if it’s in prime condition to reap a harvest of God’s promises. Learn to cultivate the kind of soil that receives all God has for you by checking your heart vitals, evaluating your love walk and avoiding blessing blockers.

1. Check Your Heart Vitals

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” –2 Chronicles 16:9, NKJV

What kind of heart do you have? The answer reveals your ability to receive from God. When you go to the doctor for a physical, the first thing he or she examines is the condition of your heart because the heart is critical to the total function of your body.

The same is true of your spiritual heart. God always looks at the heart in every matter (1 Samuel 16:7). Outward deeds are not always evidence of the state of one’s heart, but He knows the condition of our hearts—regardless of how we might appear to the world.

Jesus used the parable of the sower in Mark 4:15-20 to illustrate four kinds of heart soil. The seed sown in this parable represents the Word of God (Mark 4:14). While there is only ONE type of heart soil that receives from God, it is important to be willing to take an honest look at each one to determine which one describes you. No matter where you find yourself today—be encouraged—you can choose to move into the one heart category that will make the manifestation you need a reality in your life!

Heart Soil No. 1—The Pavement-Like Heart

The first type of heart is one that Jesus describes as “those who have the Word sown [in their hearts], but when they hear, Satan comes at once and [by force] takes away the message which is sown in them” (Mark 4:15, AMPC).

These are people who hear the Word, but there is no harvest, or result. For example, they hear the message of the gospel, but they don’t get saved. Satan may have told them that they weren’t good enough, or perhaps that it would cost them too much. At other times, pride and selfishness allow the devil to come and steal their seed. The result is always the same: Seed that is stolen means there is no seed to yield a harvest.

Heart Soil No. 2—The Stony-Ground Heart

The second type of heart Jesus describes is the stony-ground heart. When seeds are sown on “stony ground,” they have no real root in themselves, and so while these people endure for a little while; when trouble or persecution arises, they immediately stumble and fall away (Mark 4:16-17).

These are people who have no root of the Word of God. Think of what a root does for a plant. It nourishes it, feeds it and anchors it during a storm. These people stumble and fall away from the Word when adversity comes their way. Instead of holding on to the Word of God to see them through the storms in life, they let it go. The end result is they, like those with pavement-like hearts, do not receive the promises of God, or a harvest.

Heart Soil No. 3—The Thorny-Ground Heart

The third type of heart soil Jesus describes is the thorny-ground heart. These are people who “hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desire for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful (Mark 4:18-19, NKJV).

Most Christians will likely say, “I don’t fit this category. I have good soil.” However, many Christians fall into the thorny-heart category. If you take a look at their lives, they really aren’t bearing much fruit in the areas of healing, prosperity and deliverance. So, what could be happening?

At first, they get excited about the Word of God. They’ll hear a message on prosperity, for instance, and they’ll go home saying, “Hallelujah! I’m going to prosper in the Name of Jesus!”

But, over time, worries, fears and troubles become more real than the truth in God’s Word. This heart puts more stock in what the world says than what God says. In doing so, they forfeit their harvest.

Heart Soil No. 4—The Good-Soil Heart That Receives

This is where we all want to be! This is where manifestation lives. So, how is this soil different from the other three? In Mark 4:20, Jesus makes it very simple when He says the good-soil hearts are “the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit,” (ESV). That means, not only do you accept the Word, but you cultivate what has been sown.

To cultivate means to feed your heart with the Word of God and let the Word be the final authority in every decision you make. Once your soil is cultivated, it is ripe for God to give the increase. Then, the time will come when you can “put in the sickle” for your kingdom harvest.

How can you call in your harvest? Find out here.

Sure, you’ll get knocked down sometimes. But when you do, get back up and say, “Look here, Devil, I’m not going to let you steal the Word out of my heart. It’s in there and I’m meditating on it. I’m saying it with my mouth, and I’m acting on it until God’s blessings overtake me. If you don’t believe me, just hide and watch!”

If you’ll take that attitude, no matter what that devil does, he’ll never make a “thorny-ground” Christian out of you!

2. Evaluate Your Love Walk

“If I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2

After you’ve checked heart vitals, it’s time to evaluate your love walk. How do you treat people? How do you talk to and about them? Are you bitter? Have you forgiven? These are things every believer needs to consider when seeking a manifestation of the promises of God.

Offense is one of the most crippling things the devil has ever come up with. You can be sure he will give you plenty of opportunities to get offended.

What is the answer? Become so filled with love that offense can’t come near you. We must learn to live in love, walk in love, talk in love and edify one another in love. Then when the pressures come, when the hard times come, when disasters approach us, we won’t have to stop and think. We will immediately react in love.

3. Avoid Blessing Blockers

“Every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.”

1 John 5: 4

The next step to cultivating a heart that receives is to avoid filling your heart with blessing blockers. Jesus talked about the thorny heart in Mark 4:18-19, and we identified it as a type of heart that many Christians today have. Just like a natural garden needs tending to remove and keep thorns and thistles out, so does your heart.

We must be diligent to not let the thorns, or blessing blockers, in our hearts. What are the types of thorns that can crop up in your heart? Mark 4:18-19 reveals three.

1. The Cares of the World

Most often, these include concerns about health, finances, marriage and children. This can be a daily struggle, but the bottom line is, you can’t be in fear and walk in faith at the same time. If you want to cultivate a heart that produces a hundredfold harvest, you must seek to drive worry, fear and anxiety out of your life by learning to trust God and by putting your faith in His Word concerning every issue in your life.

2. The Deceitfulness of Riches

We know that prospering is a good thing—it is God’s will for us to be blessed financially. What is outside of His will, however, is when money or material possessions become the most important priority in your life. If money or making money becomes more important to you than spending time in the Word, attending church, or spending time with your family, it has become a heart issue—a thorn that is stealing your blessing from you.

3. A Longing for Other Things

Mark 4:19 calls these “the lusts of other things” (KJV). This can also be described as foolishness or folly. So, where are believers finding folly? Well…every television set, movie theater, radio and magazine stand…just to name a few. With hundreds of cable channels and the internet, it’s not difficult to find an unlimited supply of foolishness to feed on! When you spend more time consuming worldly entertainment than the Word of God, your heart will become cluttered and take on thorns that crowd out THE BLESSING.

Scripture Confessions for Guarding Your Heart

When you check your vitals, evaluate your love walk and avoid blessing blockers, you will be cultivating a heart that receives every promise from the Word of God. You will have a good-soil heart that opens the door for blessing. You won’t have to wonder why your manifestation hasn’t come—you’ll know it’s on the way. And that is the life of blessing God intends for you to live!

5 Quality Decisions To Move Your Life Forward

Blurred car driving on a open road with dry farm lands on both sides

Decision-making is an essential part of moving through every day of our lives, because our lives are series of choices. And the decisions we make determine our future. They affect whether we grow in our prosperity or delay what God wants for us to have—spiritually, mentally, emotionally, relationally, physically, financially and every other way. How critical it is, then, that we learn to make the right decisions, or what Brother Copeland calls “quality decisions,” because those are the ones that will move our lives forward.

Once, when Brother Copeland was fasting in regard to his weight, as he was praying and talking to the Lord about it, he heard God speak up on the inside saying, The decision is yours. I can’t make the decision for you. I provide the material, but the decision is yours.

It was then that Brother Copeland realized not only how important our decisions are, but also that God has given us the power to make the best decisions.

If you haven’t always made the best decisions, or you want to start making even better ones, consider these 5 Quality Decisions To Move Your Life Forward, and implement them into your decision-making, starting today.

1. Make Quality Decisions to Get Your Spiritual Life in Shape

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.” –(Daniel 6:3, KJV)

The Bible tells us that Daniel had an excellent spirit, so much so the king placed him in a position of “president,” along with two others, to reside over 120 princes throughout the kingdom. Such a promotion made the other presidents and princes attempt to find fault with Daniel, but the Word tells us, “They could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him” (Daniel 6:4, KJV). So then, they conspired to pass a law stating that no one could ask a petition of God or man for 30 days, and if they did, they would be thrown into the lions’ den. The good news of this story is that because Daniel didn’t let go of his excellent spirit, he wasn’t harmed.

Because Daniel refused to compromise, he maintained an excellent spirit. In the Aramaic and the Hebrew, the root meanings of excellence lend to the idea of abundance and preeminence. When you put the meanings together, the implication is that an excellence spirit is where the Spirit of God is preeminent in a person’s life.

Does the Spirit of God have preeminence in your life? Do you give Him first place? Do you refuse to compromise in your decision-making? Make a quality decision today to get or keep your spiritual life in shape so you, too, can have an excellent spirit.

2. Make Quality Decisions To Choose THE BLESSING

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” –(Deuteronomy 30:19, KJV)

God’s going to get you for that! Most of us have said that kind of thing jokingly for years. We’ve somehow believed that God slaps us down with pain and punishment every time we sin. But that’s just not true. There are deadly wages for sin, but God is not the one who’s doling them out.

You see, the Bible tells us there’s been a curse in effect for thousands of years. And the devil is the cause of it, not the Lord God. God gave warning of it in Deuteronomy 30:19. After describing in detail THE BLESSINGS that fall upon those who followed God and the terrible suffering that would befall those who separated themselves from Him, He said, “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”

Think of it this way. Curseville is out there. God warned us about it and urged us not to travel the road that leads there. But He has given us freedom, and He’ll allow us to choose our own way. If we get on the road to Curseville and don’t get off of it, we’re going to wind up there. Is that because God sent us there? No! He urged us to not go.

The vital thing to realize is this: At any point of the journey—whether you’re on the road to Curseville or living right in the middle of it—God will save you from it. He’ll take you out of there and deliver you. He’ll deliver you from diseases, addictions or anything else that’s been holding you captive.

Today if you find yourself on the wrong road and see destruction ahead, you can make a quality decision, to choose THE BLESSING. Just repent and get on the right road. Just commit your way to Jesus, and He’ll deliver you from whatever may be holding you captive. You can begin by praying, “Lord Jesus, I’ve chosen the wrong road and right now I ask You to forgive me. Today I choose life by choosing Your way. Please deliver me from this bondage and fill me with Your Holy Spirit to make quality decisions. Thank You, Lord!”

Remember this: No matter what you’ve done, God doesn’t want to get you for it, He wants to forgive you of it. He doesn’t want to slap you down; He wants to save you and lift you up. Trust Him and let Him put you on the road of life today!

3. Make Quality Decisions To Prosper Your Soul

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” –(3 John 2, KJV)

One of the easiest traps to fall into in this life is to use the idea of God being sovereign as a way of excusing ourselves from making the decisions God wants us to make. God is sovereign, but He has empowered us to make decisions. He has given us His authority in this earthly realm (Matthew 28:18-20). He has assigned it to us to bring heaven and earth together in this realm (Matthew 6:9-13).

While it’s good and right to want and pray for the will of God to be done, God has put into our hands the ability to do everything His Word tells us to do. Therefore, it’s incumbent upon us to get our souls in shape. Third John 2 tells us that’s our souls prospering is the will of God, but verse 11 tells us it’s our job—our quality decisions—to get our souls in shape and then maintain them.

“Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God” (KJV).

Our souls are defined as our minds, our wills and our emotions. What are you doing to prosper each of these areas of your life?

For example, do you want to prosper your mind? Then read Philippians 4:8 and follow its instructions: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (KJV).

In the same way you can take Philippians 4:8 to heart, you can find verses to help you submit your will to God and manage your emotions. That’s prospering your soul.

4. Make Quality Decisions for Your Health

“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” –(1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

It is vitally important that we get into agreement with God in every area of our lives and align ourselves with His Word. This is true regarding every facet of our lives, including obedience to God and taking care of our health.

When Brother Copeland was fasting in regard to his weight, he decided to look up every verse in the Bible that spoke of gluttony (overeating). What he found was that the word drunkard was in every one of those verses. At that time God had already delivered Brother Copeland from smoking and from drinking, and he discussed that with the Lord. Naturally, he asked God, “How are You going to deliver me from food?”

God answered him saying, I didn’t deliver you from breathing; I delivered you from breathing smoke. I didn’t deliver you from drinking; I delivered you from drinking a particular substance. Now, what you going to do about all that sugar in those soft drinks?

Brother Copeland’s true deliverance was in the power God had already given him to make the best quality decisions for his health.

Is there some quality decisions God wants you to make regarding your health? Is it time to change your eating habits? Is it time to take up walking or biking or some other way to exercise? What is God prompting you to do to take better care of and honor Him with your body?

5. Make Quality Decisions To Get Out of Debt

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.”
 –(Romans 13:8, KJV)

If you’re drowning in debt, or just keep using it to get by, then it’s time to consider making quality decisions to get out of debt, once and for all. Now, before you start thinking it’s impossible, accept the fact that it may be—if you attempt to do it all on your own.

The best way to get out of debit is to get God involved in your finances; to invite Him in to do what only He can do. Additionally, to get God involved in your money is to start sowing and sharing some of what you do have, so He can give you what you don’t have.

Malachi 3:10 is a promise: “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it” (KJV).

If we’ll give God our tithe, then He promises to open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing, to the point there’s not room enough to receive it. In other words, He’ll do the supernatural for you. He’ll do the impossible for you, because what’s impossible with man is always possible with God (Luke 18:27).

What’s more, he goes on to promise us even more: “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts” (Malachi 3:11-12, KJV).

And those are just the promises on tithing! God has promised much to those who give. Learn more about the power of sowing your seed HERE.

When you begin walking in these 5 Quality Decisions To Move Your Life Forward, your circumstances will begin to change and line up with the will and purposes of God. Don’t turn back, and you’ll be well on track to walking in everything God has for you!

7 Principles for Living a Life of Resilient Faith

Trees and rocks on the edge of a rocky mountain

When Brother Copeland first began to live by faith, and eventually preach faith, he knew nothing about it. He started where we all start—at the beginning. Brother Copeland learned the fundamentals of faith and how to use them the same way he learned to fly: First he studied the basic principles on the ground and then put them into practice in the air.

For example, the first time Brother Copeland flew solo, he had spent months learning the fundamentals of flying, and although he’d flown with an instructor, he’d never actually flown alone. He’d never put everything he’d learned into practice all at once, all by himself, thousands of feet in the air.

The day he did, he succeeded, but not without the help of the air traffic controller. Although Brother Copeland managed a number of touch-and-goes successfully, he had to be coached and educated even more to get back down on the ground and stay there—and to not intersect with another plane.
In much the same way, God has called us to live a life of resilient faith, but to do that, we need to first understand the fundamentals of faith from His Word, and then learn how to put them into practice in our everyday lives.
To get started, study these 7 Principles for Living a Life of Resilient Faith.

1. Faith is a force, and the law of faith governs this force.

“To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.” (Romans 3:26-27, KJV)

There are laws of physics that have developed over the years, and the reason they’re called laws is because they’re dependable. But before we knew we could trust them, pioneers and inventors tested their theories over and over. Once they experienced breakthrough after breakthrough after breakthrough, what they discovered became a law—a mathematical equation that could be trusted and adopted.

The law of faith is much the same; it governs the force of faith; and understanding it is the foundation of our living a life of resilient faith. God wants us to believe this law exists; he wants us to understand that it works by love (Galatians 5:6), and that we’re to work with it in our lives.

2. We are to live by faith.

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” (Hebrews 10:38-39, KJV)

When Brother Copeland first got hold of understanding that we are to live by faith, he searched throughout the entire Bible for evidence of faith—and he found it from the beginning, in Genesis, to the ending, in Revelation. Over and over again, he read accounts where God released faith and manifestations happened—and he read where people in the Bible did the same. They were ordinary people who lived lives of resilient faith!

3. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” (Hebrews 11:1-3, KJV)

Faith is not mental; it’s a force God has given us to use. What’s more, did you catch those first three words of Hebrews 11? Do you realize they are the three words that follow Hebrews 10:38-39?

Now. Faith. Is. For every area of our lives. Faith is now, and hope is for our future—and they work together. Brother Copeland has often referred to hope as the blueprint of faith. You need hope to have faith. And you need faith and hope working together in your life to bring into this earthly existence what’s waiting for us in the heavenly realm—provision, answers, solutions, ideas, resources and change.

The Amplified Bible, Classic Edition reads Hebrews 11:1 this way: “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].”

When God created the heavens and the earth, He didn’t create them out of nothing; He created them out of something we can’t see, which is the force of faith. What’s more, we are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-28); therefore, we can create with the force of faith, too.

4. Without faith it is impossible to please God.

“By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:4-6, KJV)

When we live by faith, we please God, though oftentimes we’re tempted to try pleasing God by our work—but works alone don’t please God (James 2:26).

5. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God.

“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” (Galatians 3:1-2, KJV)
Faith comes by hearing…and hearing…and hearing…the Word of God (Romans 10:17). To walk in resilient faith, we have to read it, study it and listen to it—consistently. We need it coming into us through our eyes and our ears—continually.

6. The Word of faith is in your mouth—so release it by speaking it.

“…God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” (Romans 4:17, KJV)

We release faith by speaking it, by calling things that be not as though they were; but to do so, we have to first have an intimate relationship with the Word. For example, once Brother Copeland was preparing to fly overseas for more than 30 hours, and his doctor was concerned his body couldn’t stand up to not only the flying but also the hours of preaching ahead of him, particularly since Brother Copeland was having trouble with his left leg.

Not one to back down from a faith challenge, and not one to cancel a meeting, Brother Copeland tied two heating pads around his left leg, and turned the heat on high. Then he went out to sit in a chair in his backyard and began to do two things. In addition to releasing his faith by speaking specifically to his leg, he also began to give God glory in the face of all the pain. He spoke the truth—based on the Word—though it was not yet evident in his body. Isaiah 53:5 was the truth: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

As he did, the pain would ease up. But if Brother Copeland eased up, the intensity of the pain would return. So Brother Copeland matched the intensity of his pain with giving God glory and thanking Him for all the BLESSINGS around him, including his healing.
When you know how to live by faith, you come to a place where you have intimate relationship with the truth of the Word, and you believe it. Brother Copeland knew the Word—by Jesus’ stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5)—and he believed it and spoke it. What he added to that was God’s wisdom of giving God glory at the same time.

James 3:17 tells us, “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy” (NKJV). It’s not hypocrisy to have an intimate knowledge of the Word and then to speak it before there’s a manifestation of it. That’s walking in resilient faith, something God has called each one of us to do.

7. Use your faith like a mechanic uses a tool.

“So Jesus said to them, ‘Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.’” (Matthew 17:20, NKJV)

When Brother Copeland first began learning about faith, God gave him a revelation that he teaches to this day: “Use your faith on purpose like a mechanic uses a tool.”

According to Brother Copeland, when he was a young boy, he delighted in taking everything apart that he could so he could figure out how to put it back together.

This is how he approached learning about faith. He went to the Word, took it all apart, piece by piece, verse by verse. He underlined it. He memorized it. He meditated on it. He released it by speaking it. He declared it on behalf of his family, his children, the ministry, his Partners, his own physical health, the health of others—literally in every situation and circumstance of his life.

As we employ these 7 Principles of Living a Life of Resilient Faith into our lives, our circumstances will begin to change and line up with the Word of God. Because faith is a tool, it’s a force we can use. It’s a power we can release. It’s a life we can walk in. We can live a life of resilient faith!
