KCM Partners Tony and Kaye Kidd were awakened in the middle of the night to a tornado removing their house from its foundation. Read this to find out what happened next!
John 10:10 says that satan’s mission is to steal, kill and destroy. Sometimes, he uses weather events to attempt this. But, praise God, as born-again believers we have a covenant of protection! So, even when the literal storms of life come our way, we do not have to fear because we can rest in the protection promise we find in Psalm 91, which says He is shelter for those who declare Jesus as Lord.
A Storm in the Night
At about 1 a.m. one night, KCM Partners Tony and Kaye Kidd received a phone call from their daughter—it was an urgent call, warning them that a tornado was heading their way. They jumped out of bed to take shelter, but by the time they reached the foot of their bed, everything began vibrating and the house started shaking.
Tony told Kaye to lay down on the floor; as they did this, they could feel the house being lifted off the ground. They both shouted, “In the Name of Jesus!” over and over.
The Roof Was Gone
Once the tornado passed, they realized the ceiling in their bedroom was gone! Tony estimates that the tornado moved the modular home about 25-30 feet from its foundation.
Transformers near their home began booming, like fireworks going off in the night.
Kaye walked to her front door to see the damage and she thought she would be stepping out on the front porch, but she quickly realized the porch was no longer there! The house had been moved and water was gushing where the plumbing had disconnected, “like a big ol’ waterfall,” recounted Kaye.
Unexpected Visitors
In the aftermath of the storm, the Kidd’s son-in-law came to help them clean up debris from their yard. Then, some unexpected visitors showed up: Kenneth Copeland Ministries’ Relief Team! They were there to check on their Partners who had been in the path of the storm. The Kidds were in disbelief. “It’s a huge ministry; and you hear about them visiting Partners, but you just never think that somebody will come visit you,” said Kaye.
The KCM Relief Team told the Kidds that they were able to locate each Partner in the area and check on them, but they couldn’t reach the Kidds. The team was ready to fly out from Tennessee to head back to Texas, but before they left, they sensed the Holy Spirit prompting them to try “one more time,” as Kaye shared.
“Just those words,” said Kaye, “that they didn’t give up…that just resonated such a heart that people who work for this ministry would do whatever they had to do to reach the Partners. That says something to me. I was just so blessed to know that they cared about us to come see about us.”
The Kidds miraculously survived a direct hit from a tornado and then they received the encouragement and support from KCM in their time of need. Partner, when the storms of life hit, you may be tempted to think you’re all alone. Know this: As your Partner, we are standing with you and believing for God’s best in your life, and we pray for you daily!
