As you head to the voting booth this year, here are some things you need to know before you vote.
We have many issues facing our country, and sometimes, it can be confusing as to how you should vote. In fact, some wonder if they should vote at all. We’ve put together these videos of things you need to know before you vote to give you understanding about your role in the political process and some key things to understand about our government. These videos feature our special guests Bishop Keith Butler, former U.S. Representative Michele Bachmann and Christian political activist David Barton. Take a few minutes, and listen as they share with you things you need to know before you vote.
#1: Seedtime and Harvest and Your Vote
Perhaps you know the meaning of seedtime and harvest in the Bible. Maybe you’ve understood it in relation to giving into your local church or the Body of Christ at large. But did you know that your vote also affects seedtime and harvest? Watch this video by Bishop Keith Butler, Senior Pastor of Word of Faith International Christian Center in Southfield, Mich., to learn more.
#2: How to Have Unity in the Church
How can Christians have unity in the church? Is unity in the Body of Christ even possible? According to Mark 3:25, unity in the church is not only possible but necessary: “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” The church must stand unified in order to affect change within its own walls, the community, the government and the world. Bishop Keith Butler, Senior Pastor of Word of Faith International Christian Center in Southfield, Mich., teaches on this subject in this video.

#4: America’s Balance of Power
All Americans should be able to provide a definition for the U.S. government’s balance of power. The founding fathers wisely divided the government’s power both vertically and horizontally as a way to protect its citizens from tyranny. In this video, Michele Bachmann, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, explains and gives a definition for America’s balance of power. Watch it now!

What is the secular progressive agenda, and why is secular progressivism a problem? David Barton, Founder of Wallbuilders, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of America’s heroes, history and religious foundation, answers those questions in this short video.
#6: U.S. and Israel Relations
It is imperative that Christians have a basic understanding of U.S. and Israel relations. The Bible makes it clear that people groups and countries who honor the Hebrew people and Israel will be blessed. American believers need to know what their elected officials think of Israel and whether they will vote in favor of or against strong U.S. and Israel relations. In this short video, Michele Bachmann, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, explains three common ways elected officials can hurt Israel economically through boycotts, divestments and sanctions.
#7: Why Socialism Doesn’t Work
Why doesn’t socialism work? This is an important question as more and more citizens and elected officials embrace socialistic ideals. In this short video, David Barton, Founder of Wallbuilders, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of America’s heroes, history and religious foundation, explains what socialism is and why socialism doesn’t work. He also shares why the free market is a stronger and more effective choice.
#8: Truth in Journalism
Can you trust the news media? Does truth in journalism still exist? In a time when the term “fake news” has become commonplace, those questions are valid. Can you trust that the news media you receive on television, on radio and online is true? According to Michele Bachmann, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, the answer depends. She explains in this video, Things You Need to Know about Truth in Journalism.
