Heidi Baker had two days to come up with $97,000. She and her husband, Rolland, were on the brink of being forced to lay off many of their beloved staff when the miraculous happened.
Founded in 1980, Iris Global has been ministering the love of Jesus around the world in places such as the Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia and Hong Kong. What started as short-term evangelism trips has expanded to nearly 40 nations. One of those nations is in Africa—specifically Mozambique, where they have concentrated their ministry efforts since 1995.
One of the core principles of Iris Global is to offer a home to children in Mozambique without family. Currently, they feed over 10,000 children every day. Throughout the 40+ years of their ministry, they have seen countless miracles resulting in supernatural protection, multiplied food and financial provision.

On the Brink of Heartbreak
Serving in the mission field has not come without challenges for the Bakers. Heidi Baker recounts the time their ministry was $97,000 in debt. They were on the brink of being forced to lay off many of their beloved staff. “[I felt] grieving in my heart, because everybody has families,” said Heidi.
The Bakers only had two days to come up with the money.
At that time, Heidi was preaching in America. She was staying at her sister’s house in California when a package arrived. “Brother Kenneth sent a book to the house, where my sister lives in Laguna Beach. I live in Mozambique,” she marveled. “How’d they get the address to Laguna Beach…?”
She opened the book and inside was an envelope containing a check for $100,000. This was the very first seed sown from Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM) into Iris Global. The Bakers had not had previous contact with KCM, so this was a miracle on many levels, and one that prevented the Bakers from having to lay off their precious staff and seriously curtail their ministry efforts.
