What Is the True Meaning of Great Faith? Ministry Minute

In this Ministry Minute video, Terri Copeland Pearsons shares the true meaning of great faith according to the Bible.

What is the true meaning of faith in the Bible? And when you hear the term “great faith,” do you immediately think of one of the fathers of the faith? Someone like Moses, Abraham or Paul?

In this Ministry Minute video, Terri Copeland Pearsons shares the true meaning of great faith according to the Bible. She looks at the Syrophoenician woman from Mark 7. While this woman may not be the first example of great faith to come to mind, she is an ideal example of someone who exhibited the true meaning of great faith by reaching beyond what she could do on her own.

Faith, according to the Bible, “shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see” (Hebrews 11:1). The Bible also tells us that every person is dealt a “measure of faith” at the point of salvation (Romans 12:3), but it is up to each of us to develop and strengthen that faith.

How can you strengthen your faith? Hebrews 10:17 says faith becomes stronger by “hearing the Word of God” (Hebrews 10:17). By reading the Bible, studying it and listening to experienced, faith-filled ministers teach about it, you can strengthen your faith and live out the true meaning of faith.

Like Pastor Terri said, great faith goes beyond what you are able to do on your own. It is supernatural. It is the faith you need to stand for the salvation of a rebellious child, to restore a broken marriage, to believe for healing, to pay overwhelming debt, to stand for the holiness of a nation.
