Step Into Resurrection Life

by Gloria Copeland

Truly, it’s time for us to stop looking for the living among the dead. It’s time for us to stop wandering around in the cemetery of sin, sickness and failure and to step into resurrection life!

As a resurrected creature, you’re no accident going somewhere to happen. Your life isn’t just a loose web of events and circumstances. God has specific plans for you.

Maybe He intends for you to have the greatest healing ministry of this century. Or perhaps He wants to turn you into a tremendous preacher. Maybe He has a revelation prepared for you that will enable you to bless the whole world. But you’ll never know what He has in store for you until you put your attention on Him.

That’s why the devil works hard to keep you focusing on the problems of life. That’s why he tries to keep your attention turned away from the living Word of God. He doesn’t want you to know you’re full of the resurrection life of Jesus. In fact, the prospect of it terrifies him.

Why? Because once you truly understand that you have the life of God inside you, you’ll begin to act just like Jesus did. You’ll lay hands on the sick and they’ll recover. You’ll cast out demons. You’ll preach the gospel to every creature.

In short, you’ll be just what God intended you to be. You’ll be the Body of Christ on the earth.

Don’t let Satan bind you with the grave clothes of yesterday’s sin and defeat. You’re not dead anymore. You’ve been raised with Jesus. Come out from the tombs and start living resurrection life!

REACHING Families and RESURRECTING hope this Easter!

The Kenneth Copeland Ministries Outreach Team just returned from Douglasville, GA where they hosted The REACH for 400 families in the community. In partnership with Pastors John and Janie Alexander of Church on the Word and Feed the Children, 400 families received a week’s worth of groceries, household items, personal care items and a renewed hope during this Easter season.

THE REACH is an outreach of Kenneth Copeland Ministries with Riley Stephenson, KCM’s Minister of Evangelism. The mission of this outreach is to provide physical needs for families during challenging seasons, along with meeting them where they are at spiritually with hope, love and most importantly JESUS!

Click below to see the lives REACHED by Jesus this Easter season:

Four hundred families received THREE boxes of food and household necessities to fill their pantries, and 7000 Easter eggs were hunted by hundreds of children…BUT most importantly received Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior! Praise God!

Our desire is to leave everyone we meet with the love of the Father, a new hope for the future, and the assurance that they are not forgotten and that “JESUS IS LORD!” over any circumstance they face.

Together, we’re changing lives and making a REAL difference!

What Happened From the Cross to the Throne – PART 2

Click here to read Part 1 of What Happened From the Cross to the Throne.

Now look at this. Jesus at the Garden of Gethsemane knows what’s fixing to take place. The sin of the world was not laid upon Him. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 that “He who knew no sin was made to be sin for us; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”

He Who knew no sin was made to be sin. He did the same thing that Adam did in the Garden of Eden! He made Himself obedient to death and put Himself into the hands of God’s enemy, Satan. Only He did it—He committed this act not by treason, but by choice. He did it in order to pay the price for Adam’s treason.

He put Himself and made Himself obedient unto death, and the same thing happened to Him that happened to Adam—spiritual death!

Now, listen. If it had been a physical death only, it wouldn’t have worked. And if He hadn’t died spiritually, that body never would have died. Now, I’m going to prove it to you out of the Word of God.

Do you remember what the Bible says? Paul’s writing to Timothy, and he tells him just as plain as anybody could write it, in 1 Timothy 3:16, “God was manifest in the flesh and justified in the Spirit.” Well now, you can’t get someone justified or made righteous in the Spirit if it wasn’t first unrighteous!  The righteousness of God was made to be sin. He accepted the sin nature of Satan in His own spirit, and at the moment He did so, He cried, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?”

You don’t know what happened at the cross! Why do you think Moses, upon the instruction of God, raised a serpent upon that pole instead of a lamb? That used to bug me! I said, “Why in the world do You have to put that snake up there, the sign of Satan? Why don’t you put a lamb on the pole?”

The Lord said, Because it was the sign of Satan that was hanging on the cross! I accepted in My own spirit spiritual death, and the light was turned off…made to be sin.

Three Days and Three Nights

I want you to get hold of this, because if you do, you’ll see the entire scope of life and death, and you’ll never again have another fear of death, as long as you live. You’ve never let Jesus die. Therefore, you’ve never let yourself live. Jesus, hanging on that cross—eternity is hanging in the balance. For an instant, a moment has happened where the whole of this thing is hanging. Oh, if there’s some way for Satan to win it, now is the time. If there’s some way to take it, now is the time. Because God has had His last chance.

There is no more sacrifice beyond this because God has given Himself. There’s not any farther that God can go, because that is part of Himself hanging on that cross. And the very inside of God hanging on that cross is severed from Him. And in that moment of severing, the spirit of Jesus accepting that sin and making it to be sin, He’s separated from His God. And in that moment He’s a mortal man—capable of failure and death! Not only that, He’s fixing to be ushered into the jaws of hell! And if Satan is capable of overpowering Him there, he’ll win the universe, and mankind is doomed.

Don’t get the idea that God didn’t pay a price for you. Don’t get the idea that Jesus was incapable of failure, because if He had been, it would have been illegal. That’s the reason at the Garden of Gethsemane, when He was under such pressure He said, “My soul is so grieved it almost kills Me!”  He was passing the test of Adam and it was something else!

He’s being faced with every kind of a sin, every kind of a diabolical thing…and He knows He’s going to have to accept it. He’s got to stand against this thing in such a way to pass this test and still accept the horror of being punished for it. That’s double horror!

In Acts Jesus said, “The sign unto this generation shall be the sign of the prophet Jonah, three days and nights in the belly of the earth.” We also see in Acts that on the Day of Pentecost this has been revealed to Peter. As he stands up and begins to preach, he began to preach what happened from the cross to the throne. Acts 2:24 says, “Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.”

Now, I want to show you that Jesus did not go into just the area called Paradise. There is some talk of that, but He didn’t. The area called Paradise, or Abraham’s bosom, was the upper region of Sheol, or the top compartment of hell. No man had gone into heaven. Adam’s treason had affected even the heavenly Holy of Holies.

Jesus’ blood had to be dropped on the heavenly utensils of worship in order to cleanse them. That treason went all the way to the throne of God. God was standing there alone. It had affected everything but His power. Can you see that? Heaven was not fit for men to live in, and Jesus said, “No man has gone up to heaven.”

Luke 16:19-22 says, “There was a certain rich man that was clothed in purple and fine linen and faired sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died….” Listen, this is not a parable.  Folks think it’s a parable, but it isn’t. It said there was a “certain” rich man and a “certain” beggar. Jesus is talking about an actual incident.

“…And was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man died also, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom, And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus the evil things: but now he is comforted….” (Luke 16:22-25)

You see, he wasn’t in torment. Even though that was the top region of hell, he was protected there. He was not in torment. The reason he had to go there is because these men had never been born again. They had the promise of it, it was to come.

“And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot….” See, there was a fixed gulf in between the bosom of Abraham and the pit of hell. And you couldn’t go pass from one to the other. They were protected from Satan and the demons in that place. They were protected from the whole thing.

Now, what did we just read? It said that he was not in torment, he was comforted, in the area called Paradise.

Listen to this. “God hath raised up Jesus having loosed the pains of death….” Having loosed Him from the pain of death. He was down in that pit. And there He suffered the punishment for three horrible days and nights, for Adam’s treason.

Only there’s one little kick. There’s one little deed in here that Satan didn’t quite realize. He’s in there illegally. He’s got Satan right where He wants him.

The Finished Work

He had God where He couldn’t operate because it was illegal. This Man had not sinned. This Man has not fallen out of the Covenant of God, and He had the promise of God for deliverance. And Satan fell into the trap. He took Him into hell illegally! He carried Him in there, but He did not sin. And the Bible said that He was justified in the spirit. He had been made to be sin, BUT NOW THERE IS A NEW BIRTH TAKES PLACE IN THE VERY DEPTHS OF THE EARTH.

When the command of God said, “That’s enough. Loose Him and let Him go.” This man is the Firstborn from the dead. From the Book of Acts all the way through all of the Epistles and the revelation of John, Jesus is no longer called the only begotten Son of God. He’s called the Firstborn from the dead. In Romans 8, he’s called “the Firstborn of many brethren.”

Jesus was the first Man to ever be born from sin to righteousness. He was the pattern of a new race of men to come. Glory to God!

And you know what He did? The very first thing that this reborn Man did—see, you have to realize that He died. You have to realize that He went into the pit of hell as a mortal man made sin. But He didn’t stay there, thank God. He was reborn in the pit of hell and resurrected.

That’s what happened to you. You started off in the death. The only difference was, you got yours on this side of hell, because he went down there and nailed it up for you. He stopped Satan’s authority over you. He stopped it by conquest.

Colossians 2:15 says, “He spoiled principalities and powers, lording over them in it.” He whipped the prince of the region of the damned and all of his demons, hands down. He took authority over him and said, “I am He that was once dead, but I’m now alive and I hold the keys to death, hell and the grave. All power has been given me, both in heaven and in earth.”

Can you see that? I don’t know about you, but I’ve already preached myself happy. I was laying on the bed in Tulsa, Oklahoma, praying and seeking God. And while I was laying there praying, the Spirit of God spoke to me and said something to me. I threw my Bible on the floor and I hollered, “What?”

He said, What I want you to realize is that a reborn Man (with His emphasis on man), we’ve just considered Him to be God and left it to be some kind of unobjective thing that took place that doesn’t really have any effect on us.

Not so. God put Himself in your and my position and lived through it. I like that. He lived through it. And when He did, He took the authority away from Satan on the same grounds that Satan took it away from Adam. Because he had done it illegally, and he had thrown Him into hell illegally. He didn’t sin, so He took it away from him. He took the lordship over mankind away from him, and left him standing helpless and Jesus as Lord.

And all any man has to do to break the bonds and the lordship of Satan is turn and make his new Lord. And when he does, that’s it. I want you to know Satan’s done in that old boy’s life if he’ll walk on it.  You can just ship his saddle home. It’s over. He’s got a new Lord, and that new Lord has already exercised total and complete victory, and demanded unconditional surrender of that man.

And in the Name of Jesus of Nazareth, he’ll not stand against this man any longer, because this man has changed gods and He has a complete and free right to do so, and that makes him right at that moment. The Spirit of God will hover over that body and cause a new creature to come into existence in that body, a man that never existed before. Just exactly like the One that was born in the pit of hell 2,000 years ago.

The Price Has Been Paid

This is the reason every Christian in the world ought to know this. When you see the death of Jesus, you can see the life of Copeland. Glory to God! You see, you can’t kill me anymore. You can’t do it!

And anything He’s got, I’m going to get, thank you! He got resurrected and so am I! He went to the right hand of the Father, and that’s where I’m going. He said, “He that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I sit with My Father in His throne. The works that I do shall you do also.  Go into all the world and preach the gospel.” What is the gospel? Just exactly what I’ve been telling you about.

You’re free! Set free, by the blood of Jesus. Glory to God! Free. And when you find out is when you start exercising it. You shall know the truth and the truth will make you free. When you find out that you have God’s Word for it and that you’re free of Satan, you can go on. There is no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. Praise the Lord!

He bought and paid for me, but thank God, that’s not the end of it. Somebody’s always wanting to sing “Just as I Am.” And that’s the way I came, just as I was. But He didn’t leave me the way I was!  That old man laid down and died right there in that living room.

I want to show this to you beyond any shadow of any doubt in your thinking. Jesus is the Firstborn from the dead. You are a child of the living God. You’re God’s son. That’s what the New Testament’s written about! That’s what God called Paul up into heaven and showed him, and revealed to him what happened from the cross to the throne. Anytime you read one of the epistles, that’s all it’s about.

And us not knowing anything about it, we couldn’t even see it. We’re just like where we started out there in the Book of Ephesians. He talked about it all the way through that little book. Everywhere you look, it’s there. Just like over in Ephesians 4:8, “Wherefore he saith when he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive….” That’s when He got that bunch in the region of Paradise born again. He went in there and preached to them. The Messiah came, praise God! He’s standing right there talking to them. He just got through whipping Satan and taking the keys away from that place where they were incarcerated. He bridged that gulf out of it, and led that bunch out! And there was a resurrection took place right then, too.

The graves were opened—the Bible says so in the Book of Matthew. That after His resurrection, they were resurrected, and appeared to many in that city. Don’t you know that was a day to behold, when that bunch went to marching into glory? Wow! All those old prophets: old John and David, and all those boys born again. Don’t you know that was something to see?

The Apostle Paul is writing in 2 Corinthians 7:2, “Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.” Looks like we caught him in a lie, doesn’t it? I know from the testimony of his own mouth, plus the testimony of other Christians’ mouths, and the testimony of a king, that this man killed people and hauled them into prison! He ran them over! Now he’s standing right there saying, “I’ve defrauded nobody.  I’ve hurt nobody.”

One day, I was just reading along there and happened to notice that. I said, “Whoop, whoop, whoop, now wait a minute!” And I kind of smart-alecky like pushed my Bible up there in front of me on my desk and I said, “Lord, what about this? I’ve caught this man in a lie. What’s going on here?”

And boy, I want you to know the Spirit of God jumped in the middle of me, and He reprimanded me and here’s what He said. YOU WATCH YOUR TONGUE! AND YOU BE CAREFUL WHO YOU’RE CALLING A LIAR! THE MAN THAT DEFRAUDED, AND THE MAN THAT KILLED AND THE MAN THAT DROVE CHRISTIANS TO DUNGEONS, DIED ON THE ROAD TO DAMASCUS!

The death of the cross, thank you! That’s what it said! I didn’t say that.

And he said it himself, “I’ve been crucified with Christ.”

Think about when you were born again. Some of you, maybe it was when you were young enough you don’t even remember it. Nevertheless, that little old kid that accepted Jesus died the death of the cross. The spirit in him ceased to exist and was recreated into the very likeness of God. And there’s a born-again, resurrected, glorified Man in charge of the universe! And He’s my Big Brother!

Do you see that? A resurrected born-again Man. He said, “Handle Me. A spirit hath not flesh and bone as you see I have. I am going to be with the Father.”

Some folks have got the idea that Jesus just kind of went to floating around through heaven after He was through here, and that He never did change from the time He came till now. And you know, folks say Jesus didn’t have any beginning and no end. That’s not true.

Let’s look at Acts 13:29-33. “And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. But God raised him from the dead: And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.”

Well, did Jesus become the Son of God when He was born of men? Heavens no! He’s always been the Son of God! He just took upon Himself flesh! What day was it that God’s talking about then, when He said, “This day have I begotten thee, My Son?” The day He raised Him from the dead! HIS SON WAS MADE TO BE SIN! HE GAVE HIS SON IN DEATH! THE SON OF GOD DIED IN ORDER TO GET YOU OUT! And was reborn from the dead, thank God. And then resurrected. That body, touched of the Holy Spirit and born to new life immortal…it can’t ever happen again. It will never happen again. He’s already been there. Forever in eternity, throughout eternity. Now you can see His inauguration in Hebrews 1, and it begins to mean something when God turned to a reborn resurrected Man and called Him “God.”

“And He said to the Son, Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever.” God had successfully brought a Man from the depths of hell from being made sin, to the highest position that exists in the universe—and Satan said He couldn’t do it! But He did. He turned to a Man and called Him “God.”

He is in a higher position now than He was before He went to the cross. I don’t know how you could get any higher, but God said He was. So that’s enough for me.

I’m telling you, He’s Lord of the Church. And the Bible said, “And you, when you were dead in your trespasses and sin, hath He made alive together with Christ and made you to sit together with Him in heavenly places.” The same power which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead is the power that He used when He raised you from the dead! And that moment you accepted Jesus as Lord, a new man came into existence. A brand new creature. Paul said, “Neither Greek nor Jew, but a new creature.” A new race. A super man. A joint-heir with Jesus. A man with life coming from inside him instead of death. A man with light in there and filled with light. The children of light. Productive light and life. He’s no longer dead. He’s filled with life.

And being God’s son, now I have a right to His Spirit. He filled me with Himself to teach and train me how to be the subject of Jesus, and live in the kingdom of God as a joint-heir to the throne. Glory to God!

A Special Partner Report: Russian Language Outreach

Russian is the 5th most spoken language in the world by a number of native speakers. 277 million people speak Russian as their first or second language, of which 2.5 million reside in the U.S. and Canada.

There are 143.5 million people in Russia and 45.4 million people in Ukraine. KCM has been impacting this part of the world with the Word of God for over 20 years through the TV broadcast, magazine, website, books and other outreaches.

A KCM office was opened in Minsk, Belarus, in 1994. Later it was moved in 1997 to LVIV, Ukraine, where it currently resides. The early years from 1994 to 2004 were focused on humanitarian aid and the distribution of over 15 million faith-teaching books translated into Russian.

Thirty-two KCM books have been translated into Russian, including Brother Copeland’s latest, The Blessing of the Lord. The first Russian BVOV TV broadcast aired in 1993, and the first Ukrainian broadcast in 1995. Today, the TV broadcast is seen throughout Europe, North America and the Middle East to a potential viewing audience of approximately 200 million people.

The BVOV magazine was first printed in Russian in early 2000. Today, over 24,400 magazines are mailed each month: 62% to Ukraine and 28% to Russia. KCM’s Russian website launched in 2004. Last year the website had 1,184,076 visits from 144,581 unique users. About 43% came from Ukraine and 30% from Russia. After the homepage, the TV broadcast was the most visited area on the website.

KCM’s Russian Facebook page started in 2011, growing to over 10,300 Likes, with posts reaching up to 310,000 people. Partners, you are part of this powerful, ongoing outreach.

The recent conflict in Ukraine has presented challenges with the delivery of Partner letters and magazines to our Partners, with large amounts of returned mail. It’s estimated that more than a million are displaced from the eastern part of Ukraine alone, and the infrastructure that has been destroyed makes postal service to many other areas in the conflict zone impossible. Twenty-five percent of KCM’s Russian speaking Partners live in the eastern part of Ukraine.

Pressure on financial and economic systems have resulted in the devaluation of currency and increased taxes, while scarcity and rationing have caused food prices and other consumables imported to be more than double what they were a few months ago. 10,423 KCM Partners live predominately in Russia and Ukraine.

This is a call to pray. Partners, join Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, and all the KCM Partners around the world. Together, let’s stand in faith and pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray for them every day, that they’d be full of faith and strong in the Lord—empowered by The BLESSING.

KCM’s Russian language outreach will continue to spread the gospel and reach millions of people throughout eastern Europe. We are maintaining a presence of God’s Word to be a voice of victory—declaring that Jesus Is Lord!

What Happened From the Cross to the Throne – PART 1

I want to show you some things from the Word of God that, in my estimation and opinion, are the most fascinating things in the whole Bible. It’s hardly talked about and almost nonexistent in traditional church teaching. I’ll never understand why. I guess because it’s been covered up and hidden in tradition.

The thing that’s necessary for the life of a Christian is knowledge of what happened from the cross to the throne. What took place in those three days and three nights? The death of Jesus Christ was not a physical death alone! If it had only been a physical death, Abel would have paid the price for the sins of mankind. He’s the first man that died because of honoring God and His Word. He was the first man that God dealt with in a prophetic manner after the fall of mankind. Every prophet that walked the face of the earth under the Abrahamic Covenant could have paid the price if it were a physical death only.

We, as Christians, are talking about eternal life. We’re talking about the spirit of man. A spirit of a human being never dies. I don’t care who he is, when he was born, what he does—his spirit will never, ever cease to exist. When I say it will never die, I’m using the natural definition of the word “death,” or “die.” Our own physical, natural explanation of death is to cease to exist. That is not the definition of spiritual death at all, because you can’t cause a spirit to cease to exist. The whole spiritual world is a non-ending creation by God.

A Spirit created all matter. God is a Spirit, and those that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth. And a Spirit created all material. So, since when did the material become more real than the Creator?

How It All Began

The spiritual world is the real world, and this world is an expression of that world. This world was created by that world. That world existed without beginning and will exist without end. And a non-beginning, non-ending creature called God created the whole thing.

Man’s spirit will live, either with his Lord Jesus throughout eternity, or with his father the devil throughout eternity. Either one. He’ll never die.

He may lose his soul. If he hasn’t been born again, he’ll lose his soul, lose control over his will, mind and emotional faculties. The moment he steps out of this physical body, he’ll go unto his lord, Satan, into the pit, or the incarcerated place called hell—the jail of spirits that are alienated from God. They have to be jailed. If they were left to run loose, they would wreck and work havoc on the creation of God. And God won’t have that. Hell was created for the devil and his angels, and he’s taking men there with him.

Now, let’s talk about what happened from the time Jesus’ body, when He gave up His spirit or gave up the ghost, as the Scripture said, until He was resurrected and sat down at the right hand of the Father. I want to know what happened. Don’t you? Wouldn’t you like to know what happened and what took place in there? When you find out, it will be the very thing that brings the reality of the Christian life into your life, to the point where no one can ever take it away from you again. The power of God and the Word of God will be so solidified in your life that there’s not anyone that can take it away from you. They can’t do it. Once a man has this particular thing revealed to him, there’s no one that can take it away.

First, let’s look at the way Jesus ministered. I want to know what happened in the Garden of Eden. That will tell us some true facts that will open up the door to some things we need to know a little bit later on. The Bible says that God gave man dominion over all His handiwork. In the Book of Psalms, it talks about the stars that God made and all that He made in this universe, and says all the works of His hands and handiwork had been put under the foot of man and under the dominion of mankind.

Here’s what happened. God created a human body. Not a human being, but a human body. And He made that out of the elements of this earth. Then, from within Himself, He put life into that body. The Bible said He breathed life into that body. That was a dead thing. The spirit of man is the real man. And the light and the life of God is the life-giving source of that man. He had no lack of knowledge or of what he needed. He walked in a likeness of God—can you see God going hungry? Can you see God without enough to eat?

You’d say, “Why, no, certainly not.  If He needed any more, He’d just create more.”

Well, that’s the way He made man. Man is made in His own image and likeness, and He gave him this universe to have dominion over, and this world to live on and have dominion over this earth. By His faith and creative ability, He caused this world to feed him and take care of him in every way. Man didn’t even realize he was naked.

Then, man gave that dominion and authority over into the hands of an angel, a fallen angel by the name of Lucifer, who had his name changed to Satan when he fell out from his position as the number one angelic being of God. He was called “the anointed cherub.” He lost that anointing and was kicked out of authority because he had invented iniquity. It was found in him and he brought it into existence. He had no tempter because he created it.

Satan used the anointing of God to create iniquity. That’s why there’s no redemption for him. He used God’s power to invent, or bring into existence, a thing called sin.

The Big Takeover

Now, when Adam gave that creature the authority that God had given him, he made him the god of this world. That’s when he became the prince of the power of the air, using Adam’s authority, time scale and everything that God had given him. All of a sudden, man is limited. Now spiritual death has been lodged inside that man. The light got turned off. No inner power! No ability to create from within—only the ability to copy what already exists. And if the ground would produce, it would have to be done so, not by the creative ability from within, but by the scratching of the very hands and sweat of the man’s brow. He had to make that ground produce, because he had been cast down to its level.

A curse, the Bible calls it, had been put on him.

Where did this leave God? All of a sudden His man, His child, His creation, has a stepfather. And the Bible said that God gave this earth to the sons of men. He gave them dominion over it. He gave it to them to be god over! But when he turned and gave that dominion to Satan, look where it left God. It left Him on the outside looking in. He can’t do anything down there. He had no legal right to do anything about it. Could He manipulate and operate? No, because He’d be doing the very same thing that Satan did in the first place. And if God had injected Himself illegally into the earth, what Satan intended for Him to do was to fall for it, pull off an illegal act and turn the light off in God, and subordinate God to himself.

Satan intended to get God into such a trap that He couldn’t get out. That’s what He tried to do, and He did it with man. See, if he could get God to move illegally in the earth and do something that’s a lie—the Bible says that Satan is the father of all liars—he’d take Him because he’s the god of the earth. He has moved in with Adam’s authority and become god over this existence. And if he could get God to infringe on his territory, he’d take the rest of the universe away from Him. That’s what Satan was after!

Now you can see the complicated predicament that God’s in. You can understand why someone would say, “Wonder why God let’s all those wars go on?”

He doesn’t! There’s not anything He can do about it. He has given authority in the earth to the Christians to do something about it, and they’re not doing anything. They’re just sitting around. The devil is using Christians’ authority, and just running wild with it. We ought to be governing with the power of prayer, power of God, power of the witness and power of the Name of Jesus. That’s the way we’re supposed to be ruling this earth right now, with the love of God and in the Name of Jesus.

Now there’s coming a time when that time limit ends and Jesus will set up rule on this earth.  Praise the Lord! However, spiritual death lodged in that man’s spirit and created a situation where God had to do almost the same thing to a man named Abram that Satan did to Adam. The only difference was, God came on the scene. Instead of crawling in there on His belly like a snake, and using the body of a snake to get in, He came up to the man, tapped him on the shoulder and said, “I am Almighty God.” There wasn’t any doubt about Who was doing the talking, because it knocked old Abram right flat on his face.

God did it Himself. Because when He got through with it, the Bible says in Genesis 17, “And God went up from Abram.” He made this deal Himself. He made a contract, or covenant, with Abram.  And in this contract, simply because Abram accepted it, God changed his name to Abraham, made an agreement with him and gave him a new name. The whole world would know Abraham.

God’s Covenant with Abraham

God legally made an agreement with Abraham. He cut the skin of that man and that man’s blood was shed. Abraham gave his own blood in order to mark himself as a covenant man with God—a man that had gone into a legal agreement with God.

And God marked Himself. He said, “I’ve sealed Myself with this promise.” And everything that He wrote down in the Levitical law, everything that He gave His Word to do—all man had to do was stand on it as an agreement in faith—God would do it. Faith in what? Faith in that agreement!

Can you see that? That’s His Word. He sealed Himself with that Word. But if you won’t believe it, there’s not anything anyone can do for you. If you won’t stand for that, you’ll fall for something else. Every time. Satan makes that Word to no avail and it won’t produce if you won’t stand for it.

God agreed to do certain things for Abraham if Abraham would do certain things for Him, and give Him a way back into the earth. So he said, “All right, I’ll do it. You can use me, you can use all of my kinfolks, you can use all that I ever get.”

And God said, “Well, I’ll give you plenty. I’ll put plenty into your hand.” See, God’s funneling things back into His own family once again. And it’s not too easy to do, because this bunch sometimes won’t listen to Him. He’s funneling the cattle on a thousand hills back into old Abraham’s hands. He picked out a slab of ground over there that He wanted to use and had plans for, and began to funnel that into Abraham’s hands.

He had given His Word to Abraham. He had a working contract with God, and the prophets down through the years added God’s Words to it. And by the Holy Spirit there were different facets of it, different laws made and different things set up until that whole system, that whole Abrahamic Covenant, was made and completed. But there had to be a man born like that first man. God set that contract up in order to get that man into the earth.

The Grand Plan of Redemption

Let’s look at Ephesians 3:9. It says, “To make all men see what is the fellowship, or their part of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God….”

The things that I’m talking about, God had these things hidden. He didn’t let Satan know everything He was doing. In fact, He didn’t let him know anything He was doing! It was hidden. And the prophets would get little glimpses of it. Abraham had a glimpse of it. They’d get glimpses of it and put it down, just enough to keep everybody going in the right direction and headed toward Jerusalem, and headed toward the cross. Because that was the center of this mystery.

The mystery, by the way, is the plan of redemption.

Ephesians 3:10 says, “His intention in this is that now unto the principalities and the powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God.”

You and I have the right to see into these things, because we are the born children of God. This is no longer a mystery hidden from us. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard what God has in store for those that love Him. But it has been revealed to us by His Spirit.” We’re in the know! The Spirit of God has been sent to reveal these things, so we can know how to operate.

The devil doesn’t have any revelation knowledge. He cannot read into you. But he can put thoughts into your mind and make you react or respond to them, and when you shoot your mouth off, then he knows what you’re going to go do.

Jesus said not to cast that which is holy before the swine. They’ll take it and rare up and rend you with it. And the Bible said, “Had the princes of this world known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”

See, the devil didn’t know. He had to kill Abel, because he thought Abel might be the one that would carry this thing out. God had given Satan just enough insight to know that if he didn’t get rid of the guy God had in place, He was going to get him.

God told Satan He was going to put His heel on his head. Satan didn’t have any doubt about that. So he’s out to stop it any way he can. And he knows if he just gets any inclination on Who it is, he’s going to kill him. He killed Abel that way—not really knowing—and he saw that didn’t work. So he just kept it up. Everyone that turned out to be a prophet, he’d go to work to kill him, thinking maybe this might be the One.

You have to remember, Satan didn’t know anything about the virgin birth. He didn’t think that could happen, just like a bunch of other guys I know that didn’t think it could happen. But it did! And really, it’s very simple when you begin to see through the mystery of it.

So God kept it hidden from Satan. He and Jesus working right on down through the line, setting this trap.

The Chosen One is Revealed

Even when Jesus was born, Satan wasn’t too sure. He knew something was up. He knew things were getting hotter, and hotter, and hotter on him. But he didn’t know Who it was, because he went down to Bethlehem and had everybody two years old and under killed there. He didn’t know exactly Who it was until Jesus walked in the Jordan River and John baptized Him. And the Spirit of the living God came upon Him, and there was a voice that came from heaven and said, “This is My Son, in Whom I am well pleased.”

Boy, the deal was on!  It didn’t last all day, because He wound up on the Mount of Temptation and Satan did everything he knew to kill him. He knew that this was Him. He knew this was the One!

Satan set out at that moment to get Him. He tried to push Jesus off a cliff and it didn’t work. He tried to stone Him, and it didn’t work. He tried everything he knew how to do, and it didn’t work.

What’s this Man doing? This Man is an Israelite, walking and ministering under the Abrahamic Covenant. He’s keeping the Covenant of God. He’s doing what God said do, and God’s honoring every moment of it.

Now, He didn’t introduce healing. Healing was introduced to Abraham in that Covenant. All the prophets operated in healing. Moses did, Elijah did and Elisha did. Elijah raised an old boy from the dead, a widow’s boy. He was staying there with them, so that’s the least he could do! Well, that sounds funny, but that’s true. He had an obligation to these people. God called on that woman to sustain him and she was doing what God said do, even though the neighborhood probably talked awful about it. I mean, after all, him living there with that widow woman and all. I don’t imagine the religious folks thought too much about it, but nevertheless he got his job done and saved that nation!

Are you beginning to see some of the things about the way God thinks? God expected him to raise that boy from the dead. He did not expect him to sit by and let Satan rob that woman at this stage of the game. And He’s looking at you the same way. God doesn’t intend for you to sit by and let Satan steal right out from under your feet. No way!

Listen to me very carefully, because I want you to get this. There had to be a man born who could stand the test the first one had failed. Man was the key to the fall, and he was going to have to be the key to the redemption. God didn’t have a right to get involved in it and do it. Yet He was responsible, so He’s the One Who’s going to have to do it! This had to take place. There had to be a man and it had to be all man. He couldn’t just be part man, because that’s not legal. He had to be all God. He couldn’t be just part God, because that wouldn’t work. Because God created the man that fell.

See, the responsibility is in the hands of God. He didn’t have to fall. God made that man to where he was capable of not falling. He gave him the authority to stand against Satan. But he did it anyway.

So what kind of a man is this going to be? God cannot go back to the dust of the earth and make a new one, because He doesn’t own the dust of the earth anymore. The men that are operating and own the dust of the earth belong to Satan. The contract that God’s working on is only a partial contract, and it’s only good where the earth is that man’s standing on. God doesn’t have any right to butt in on it and say, “King’s X on that first one I gave authority to. I’m going to make another one.”  No, that doesn’t work!

God gave man authority and he gave that authority away. God honored that authority and He’s still honoring it today. God is a just God.

The Last Adam

So here’s what God planned to do. He used His right that Abraham had given Him, and He caused a creature to be conceived from Himself inside the womb of a virgin. He used the Word of God, or His Covenant with Abraham, to get it done. The Word of God became flesh.

This Man is a carbon copy of the one that walked through the Garden of Eden. This Man is not an immortal Man. He is an eternal Man. Pure, clean, absolute—the very heart of God Himself walking inside an eternal body. He had complete and total control over that body, but it was not immortal. If it had been, it wouldn’t have died. Immortality means “not subject to death.” It became immortal at the resurrection of it. You’ll never touch it with death again, I’ll tell you that for sure. It’s impossible now, because it’s already been through it.

The Bible calls Him “the last Adam.” He’s a carbon copy of that first one. He’s an eternal man. Adam was built to live eternally in the physical body that he had. It didn’t have any flaws in it. It was built to live that way.

Medical science says the human body is totally recreated every seven to 11 years. Every cell in it is reproduced and recreated. And there’s no real, physical, natural and scientific reason for the thing to die if it’s never injured or hurt. It should live on forever, but it won’t. Because spiritual death came on the inside of that thing and caused malfunctions in it and brought death. The life was stopped. The life-giving source—the life, the power, the life of God was stopped—and that’s spiritual. That spiritual death will not produce life. It cannot. It produces curse and damnation, theft and destruction.

Now, what happened here? Here’s an eternal Man that has control over His entire being. He said, “My life is Mine to pick up or lay down. No man can take it from Me.” He’s ministering as a prophet under the Abrahamic Covenant. Right at the most crucial moment of His ministry, He’s ministering with the Word of God and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. He did not use any of His divine privileges to minister while He was in His earthly ministry.

He ministered as a prophet under the Abrahamic Covenant and went to the cross as the spotless Son of the living God. But here’s the part I want you to get: when He said, “It is finished,” on that cross, He was not speaking of the plan of redemption. The plan of redemption had just begun. There were still three days and three nights to be gone through before He went to the throne. Isn’t that true? What was finished?

The Abrahamic Covenant had come to a close! The final sacrifice was hanging on that cross. The priesthood had put it there. It was legal! The high priest of God hung the Lamb of God on the altar of the cross!

From Couch Potato to Conqueror 8 Steps to Keeping Your Spirit in Shape

by Gloria Copeland

It’s easy to get lazy about spiritual things.

Have you ever noticed that? It’s easy to get so preoccupied with the day-to-day business of life that you let the truths you’ve received from God slip away.

You don’t have to jump into some kind of major sin to lose ground spiritually. You don’t even have to get rebellious. All you have to do is nothing!

It’s easy. It is also dangerous.

The truth is, it’s usually not the great revelations you haven’t heard yet that are causing you to be defeated in certain areas of your life. It’s failing to live by the things you know.

If you want to live in victory, you have to keep yourself spiritually active. You have to keep feeding your spirit with the Word of God. You have to continually be filled with the Holy Spirit.

That’s right, continually filled. It’s not enough to get baptized in the Holy Ghost once and expect that one experience to keep you on fire for Jesus the rest of your life. That’s why in Ephesians 5:18, the Apostle Paul says, “Be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.” In the Greek, that phrase says literally “be being filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Be filled. Keep yourself overflowing. Sounds like a tall order, doesn’t it?

It is, but in the book of 2 Timothy, Paul tells us how we can accomplish it. He outlines some very important steps that will keep us moving forward in the overcoming power of God.

  1. Be strong in grace.

First of all, Paul instructs us to “be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 2:1). What is grace and what does it do? Titus 2:11-12 tells us, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.”

Grace teaches us. It teaches us how to live in freedom in this world.

Whenever the Spirit of God corrects you, whenever He points out a mistake you’re making or speaks to you about something you’re doing that is grieving Him, don’t be mad. Be glad! It’s the grace of God teaching you something to make your life better.

Grow strong in that grace by spending time every day in prayer. Live each day expecting the Spirit of God to counsel and instruct you about the things in your life-big and small.

Expect to hear from Him. If you don’t, you won’t be listening for Him. And if you’re not listening for Him, you’re not likely to hear Him because He speaks in a still, small voice. His words are quiet words. They’re not overwhelming words. If you don’t have a spiritual ear tuned to heaven, you’ll miss them.

So, every morning of your life spend time praying in the spirit, talking to the Father and reminding yourself the Holy Ghost is inside you, constantly teaching and guiding you. Become strong in the grace of God.

  1. Endure hardness.

Next, Paul said, “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2:3). In other words, get tough.

Tests and trials will come your way in this life. Don’t falter and quit when they do. Don’t put down your shield of faith.

Instead, when the enemy puts pressure on you, get more aggressive with your faith than ever. Do more-not less. Spend more time in prayer, more time in the Word. Speak twice as many words of victory!

When hardship comes, endure it. Stand on your faith. And refuse to let the devil talk you out of believing God’s Word.

  1. Don’t get entangled.

“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier” (2 Timothy 2:4).

You and I have been called to live the high life in Christ Jesus, not to be tied down to this natural realm. But all too often we allow ourselves to become tangled in the temporary affairs of this world instead. We allow those entanglements to drag us into defeat.

Don’t let that happen to you. Simplify your life. If you don’t have time for God, make time. Don’t let your career, your family or anything else keep you from going on with God.

One thing I can promise you: Every part of your life will be more blessed if you take time to listen to God. There is nothing you can do that is better than hearing from heaven.

Before I consider taking on any new activity, I always ask myself, “Can I afford it?” Not can I afford it financially, but can I afford it spiritually? Can I give time to this activity and still keep my priority time with God? If not, I can’t afford it.

There’s only one thing you absolutely can’t afford to do without-and that’s your time spent in prayer and in the Word of God. It is your very life. It is where your victory lies. You may forget that, but Satan never does. He’ll constantly be sending time-stealers your way. So be alert and don’t get entangled in them. Make the time you spend with God your first priority every day.

  1. Remember the Resurrection.

“Constantly keep in mind Jesus Christ, the Messiah, [as] risen from the dead…” (2 Timothy 2:8, The Amplified Bible).

When the devil starts telling you you’re defeated, turn the tables on him and say, “You’ve got that wrong, devil. I’m not defeated, you’re defeated. My faith is in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Satan can’t whip you if you keep in mind Christ Jesus is risen from the dead. So, never let yourself lose sight of Him. Continually remind yourself that the power Satan couldn’t keep in the grave is the very power that is operating inside you right now. If you’ll do that, the devil will never get the best of you.

  1. Study the Word.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

Never quit studying God’s Word. Whenever you stop growing in spiritual revelation, you begin to lose what you’ve already received. It dwindles away on the inside of you.

Have you ever noticed that some people seem to live on a spiritual roller coaster? One day they’re on top of the world, excited about the Word, and full of faith…the next day they’re in a valley of discouragement. Don’t be like that. Instead, get up on the crest of the wave and stay there all the time.

Continual study of the Word of God will enable you to do that. It will keep you steady and consistent in your walk with God because it will constantly feed your faith and keep you strong.

  1. Avoid arguments.

“Avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness” (2 Timothy 2:16, The Amplified Bible).

Here Paul specifically cites the case of two men arguing over the Resurrection. Those kinds of useless arguments actually undermine faith and Paul warns us to stay away from them.

Don’t get into conflicts with other believers over doctrine. Instead, fellowship with them over the fact Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and is Lord of the universe. If you can’t agree on anything else, rejoice in that.

Don’t argue with people. Just love them.

  1. Fellowship with the faithful.

“Shun youthful lusts and flee from them, and aim at and pursue righteousness…faith, love, [and] peace…in fellowship with all who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart” (2 Timothy 2:22, The Amplified Bible).

If you want to live in victory, you need to fellowship with people who know God. Don’t try to fellowship with the world and live like an overcomer. It won’t work.

We get strength from one another. We also get weakness from one another. If you want to grow strong, find someone who is stronger in the Lord than you are and fellowship with them. They’ll bring you up.

On the other hand, if you fellowship with people who don’t live for God and trust His Word, they’ll bring you down. Don’t go to a church, for example, where people tell you healing has passed away and then try to live in divine health. You can’t do it.

Listen to me now. Your very life depends on whom you fellowship with and where you go to church. Fellowship with people who are strong and walk in power, who preach God’s Word and get results when they pray. You’ll end up living on a much higher plane.

  1. Keep on keeping on.

“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them” (2 Timothy 3:14).

The only way the devil can actually defeat you is by convincing you to quit. So, don’t let him do it.

When Satan comes to knock you down and steal your hope and faith in the Word of God, don’t let them go. Hang on. Continue to do the things you know to do. Keep on keeping on!

Remember this. All it takes to lose your grip on the power of God is to get lazy in spiritual things. You don’t have to do anything dramatic-all you have to do is nothing.

So beware of taking it easy in the days ahead. Now is not the time to be a spiritual couch potato. It’s time to move onward and upward in the overcoming power of God!

Never Settle for Normal Again

by Kenneth Copeland

It happens all the time. People get born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit. Then they go back to living what the world might call a “normal” life. They have no idea of the magnitude of what’s happened to them.

About all they know is they can speak in tongues (which they’re sure is wonderful, even if they’re not certain what good it does) and they now qualify as Pentecostals or charismatics. But since that doesn’t seem to make much difference except on Sundays when they go to church, the rest of the week they don’t think much about it. They walk around from day to day carrying within them a power so mighty, so devastating to the works of darkness, it totally terrifies the devil-and they’re doing almost nothing with it.

To one degree or another, that’s true about almost all of us. Even if we know a little more about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit than the average believer, even if we’re operating in a measure of His power, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what He can do. We need a far greater understanding of what the Bible actually means when it says: “Ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate…” (2 Corinthians 6:16-17).

“Oh, Brother Copeland,” you might say, “I know what that passage means.”

Maybe so. But I can guarantee, there are some things in the Scriptures that would shock you if you really got a revelation of them.

Take what the prophet Ezekiel said, for instance. He got a firsthand look at the God who dwells in us and described Him as having “the likeness as the appearance of a man…as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward…as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about” (Ezekiel 1:26-27).

Talk about a stunning revelation! Ezekiel saw God as a “Man on Fire!” That’s not the only time he saw Him that way, either. In Ezekiel 8, he said it again, “The hand of the Lord God fell…upon me. Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber. And he put forth the form of an hand…” (Ezekiel 8:1-3).

Just envision this for a moment. Ezekiel is seeing what looks like a Man ablaze from head to foot-a Man who glows like the hottest embers of a hardwood fire. A Man who’s a veritable furnace of power.

“This,” Ezekiel said, “was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord” (Ezekiel 1:28).

The nation of Israel saw the same thing when God came down to meet them on Mount Sinai. Exodus 24:17 says, “The sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount.”

To the Israelites, as to Ezekiel, God’s glory looked like fire and flames. That might sound to us like something scary or bad, but the truth is just the opposite. God’s glory is His goodness. There’s nothing bad in Him. His goodness is so absolute that when it comes in contact with anything bad, it wipes it out.

That’s why, when Moses asked to see God’s glory up close and unfiltered, God responded by saying, “I will make all my goodness pass before thee…. And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by…and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen” (Exodus 33:19, 22-23).

Under the Old Covenant, sin hadn’t been washed away by the blood of Jesus, so direct contact with God’s glory would have burned Moses up. His sin-contaminated human nature couldn’t have handled it. All he could stand was a glimpse.

Like Moses, the prophet Habakkuk got a glimpse of that fiery glory, too. He described it as like the sun, blazing in the sky: “His brightness was as the light; he had horns [or shafts] coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power” (Habakkuk 3:4). The Message translation says, “His cloud-brightness like dawn, exploding, spreading, forked-lightning shooting from his hand-what power hidden in that fist!”

Whoa! Can’t you just see Him-this God in the form of a Man, radiating like the sun with lightning flashing out of His hands in all directions? Imagine what a good film producer could do with that!

“Yeah, Brother Copeland, it would make an exciting movie all right, but it’s all Old Testament. What does it have to do with us as New Testament believers?”

It has everything to do with us!

Romans 6:4 says that Jesus “was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father.” That means the same lightning-like, man-shaped furnace of power that Ezekiel, the Israelites and Habakkuk saw, came on the scene after the Crucifixion. It’s what split the curtain in the Temple from the top to the bottom when Jesus died. It’s what flashed into the pit of hell, raised Him up, and stripped Satan and his demonic hosts of their dominion.

They couldn’t believe it was happening! No one had ever gotten out of hell before. Satan had that place locked up. But when the Man of Glory came storming in there with lightning flashing from His fists, the devil knew he was in trouble. He knew that Man on fire from the loins up and the loins down was going to give him a whipping from which he could never, ever recover.

No wonder the Bible says that if Satan and his bunch had known what was going to happen, “they would not have crucified the Lord of glory” (1 Corinthians 2:8)!

Satan’s Worst Nightmare

Actually, the thrashing Satan got in hell was just the beginning. Things got even worse for him on the Day of Pentecost when 120 believers were praying in the upper room in Jerusalem: “Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:2-4).

That was the devil’s greatest nightmare! Those believers got baptized-totally immersed-in the Spirit of Glory. The flaming God who appeared to Habakkuk, that column of fire that came down on Mount Sinai, came into that room, divided Himself and sat down on those believers.

But instead of being destroyed, because of their reborn nature, they absorbed Him-fire and all! They even began to speak His language! They didn’t just go back to living normal lives after it happened, either. They emerged from that place as separate from the rest of the world as light from darkness. They went out and started turning the world upside down for Jesus. They preached the gospel, worked miracles, signs and wonders, and The LORD added to the Church daily those who were being saved.

“But that was the early Church!” you might say. “Things were different back then.”

No, they weren’t! Those first believers received the same Spirit you and I did when we got saved and baptized with the Holy Ghost. We are carriers of God’s glory just as surely as they were!

That’s why Romans 6:4 says to us, “As Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” We’ve been born again by and baptized with the very same glory that resurrected Jesus. As Ephesians 5:8 says, “You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (New King James Version).

What light? The light of the glory of The LORD!

Just before Jesus went to the cross, He explained it to the disciples this way: “I am in the Father, and the Father in me…the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him” (John 14:10, 12, 23).

Can you see what Jesus was telling us?

He was saying that the same Father of glory who lived in Him and did supernatural works on earth would, after the Crucifixion and Resurrection, dwell in and do supernatural works through us who believe. Once-ordinary people like you and me would become mobile temples filled with the lightning-like, white-hot, fiery-furnace power of Almighty God. We’d do the works of Jesus and even greater; we’d lay hands on the sick and they would recover because shafts of divine power would be made available through our hands!

Keep Going in the Glory and Be the Light

This is what Habakkuk meant when he said, “The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord” (Habakkuk 2:14). He wasn’t talking about a cloud coming down from heaven. He wasn’t saying fire would come down out of the sky like it did on Mount Sinai. Habakkuk was prophesying about the Church.

The fire of God’s glory coming out of us is what’s going to fill the earth!

It’s not just going to happen after the great resurrection when we get our glorified bodies, either. We can show forth God’s glory right here and now, so the lost can witness it and be swept into God’s kingdom by the millions.

“Well, if that’s supposed to happen, why aren’t we seeing more of it?”

Because we haven’t taken hold of the revelation of it. We haven’t made enough of this glory that indwells us. The more we make of it, the more it will manifest and work in our lives.

We must become more God-inside minded! We need to develop our awareness of the fact that God is living in us all the time. Instead of being sin-conscious, we ought to be making much of our righteousness in Him. We should be continually reminding ourselves, I’ve been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. In God’s eyes, I’m right with Him. I walk in His rightness. I can fellowship with Him all day long, all the time.

“But Brother Copeland, what if I miss it and sin?”

Then repent. God has already provided forgiveness for you. Just receive it, spit the sin out of your life and keep going in the glory.

While you’re at it, try reading the Bible with a new perspective. Rather than searching it all the time for what Jesus can do for you, start focusing on what He can do through you. Put yourself in Jesus’ place when you read Gospel accounts like the one about the sick woman who got healed by touching the hem of Jesus’ garment. Begin to realize the same power that flowed from Him will flow out of you if you’ll esteem that power with great honor and expect it to manifest.

I’ve seen it happen many times-in my own life and in the lives of others. It happened to Jerry Savelle one time when he was at the mall, shopping with his wife. He was just following her through a store, walking up and down the aisles, when a woman he didn’t know ran up to him and cried, “Pray for me! Pray for me! I need help!”

Brother Jerry ministered to her. The power of God flowed and the woman received what she needed. Before she went on her way, Jerry asked her how she’d known he was the one who should pray for her.

“The LORD told me to come to this shopping center because there would be a person here who could minister to me,” she said. “When I arrived, I saw a light bobbing up and down the aisles of this store and it caught my attention. So I followed the light and found you. When I saw your face the power of God came on me.”

According to the New Testament, such things should be happening to us all the time. After all, we’re living in the last days. These are days about which God said: “I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh…. And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath…before the great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:17-21).

That’s an end time outpouring of God’s glory, and the time for it is here! So start saying it by faith right now, “The glory is in me! I receive it! I’m walking in it!” Get more God-inside minded and start acting like a temple of The LORD of glory.

Make up your mind never to settle for normal again.
