In this Ministry Minute, Mac Hammond, Senior Pastor of Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, Minn., shares how to bring the vision God has for your life into focus by making a plan.

How do you plan your life for success according to God’s Word? How do you fulfill the dream you know God has given you? Or how do you discover your life’s vision and learn how to accomplish it? Those are great questions that many ask. Thankfully, for the believer, there’s an answer, and it begins with a three-step process:

1. Pray
Seek the Lord through prayer, trusting that He will guide you in your life’s vision. You may even want to ask a pastor or spirit-led friend or mentor to agree with you in prayer about discovering your life’s vision.

2. Write the Vision
Follow the instructions in Habakkuk 2:2-3 KJV: “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.”

3. Make a Plan
This plan is comprised of small steps that you can take to achieve the vision.

Want to know more? Check out this Ministry Minute video by Mac Hammond, Senior Pastor of Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park (a suburb of Minneapolis), Minnesota, in which he shares how to plan your life for success by implementing smaller steps.

As you work through these three steps, spend time meditating—reading, studying and prayerfully considering God’s Word. Here are two verses to get you started:

• For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. –Jeremiah 29:11

• We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. –Proverbs 16:9

Want further study? If you want to study about people who trusted God for their vision, developed plans for that vision and then implemented those plans, study the lives of Ezra and Nehemiah. God used these two men, one a priest and one a commoner, to restore Jerusalem, rebuild the Lord’s temple and return the Hebrew people to Jerusalem after years in captivity. Their obedience, planning and faithfulness was a game-changer for the Hebrew people and serve as excellent examples of God’s faithfulness.

With prayer, the Lord’s direction and a solid plan, you can learn how to plan your life for success. Get started now!
