Partnership is God’s plan for the good news of THE BLESSING in Jesus to be given to the world, and it’s the plan that has worked since Jesus walked the earth Himself! It originated in the Bible with the very first blood covenant agreement God made with man—when He made one with Noah—and promised never again to destroy the earth with a flood (Isaiah 54:9). And it continued throughout the Word as God made even more covenants with strategic people in the Bible. Of course, the ultimate fulfillment of covenant is Jesus, and it’s through our covenant relationship with Him that we walk in THE BLESSING…which shows the ultimate power available in partnership.
Because of The Power of Partnership and what God can do through and with us in this world, partnership is a strategic role we’re all called to fulfill in the kingdom of God—and it is an invaluable way you can be involved with Kenneth Copeland Ministries, Eagle Mountain International Church and everything God has called the ministry to do. As Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.”
According to the Webster’s 1828 dictionary, a partner is “one who partakes or shares with another.” When you partner with KCM and EMIC, you step into a covenant relationship that benefits you, your family, your relationships, your work, your increase and your ministry—because it’s a covenant relationship with great exchange that lasts for generations.
When Jesus walked the earth, God called people alongside Him to be His partners; they were the apostles and Jesus’ disciples. They were the people who walked with Him, who supported His ministry. and who did the work of the ministry alongside Him. They heard the voice of His authority and power up close and they witnessed victory after victory in people’s lives. When Jesus took His place in heaven at the right hand of His Father, they continued in the ministry by the power of the Holy Spirit.
When the Apostle Paul set out on mission, he, too, partnered with people in every town to which the Lord sent him. Some joined him in his travels, most continued in the work he started in their hometowns, and all spread the faith and love of Jesus. Regarding partnership, Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building” (1 Corinthians 3:6-9). Paul understood The Power of Partnership.
Throughout the life of the Church—from the beginning right up until today—partnership in mission and ministry has been God’s system of changing lives by the power of the gospel, and expanding THE BLESSING through His kingdom on earth. First God partners with us—through the gift of salvation—and then we partner with Him to accomplish His will in the earth. As individuals, we can’t accomplish much by ourselves, but as the Word promises us, one can put 1,000 to flight, but two can put 10,000 to flight (Deuteronomy 32:30; Joshua 23:10).
Other People’s Partnership From the Bible
The Greek word for partnership is koinonia. It means “to fellowship, to share something with someone.” When people throughout the Bible partnered with one another, they shared what had to be accomplished.
For example, when Moses needed leaders to spy out the Promised Land, he partnered with 12 of them, one from every tribe. Only Joshua and Caleb came back with a good report, but it paved the way for the children of Israel to enter the Promised Land (Numbers 13).
Forty years later, Joshua learned from Moses’ experience, and he sent only two spies to check out the city of Jericho. When their lives became endangered, partnering with Rahab saved them (Joshua 2).
When Ruth’s husband died, she partnered with her mother-in-law, Naomi, who chose to travel back to her homeland. There, Ruth married Boaz, and because of their partnership, she cared for Naomi the rest of her life (Ruth 1-4), eventually joining the lineage of Jesus!
To bring Jesus into this world, God partnered with Mary (Luke1:26-38).
When Jesus met the woman at the well, she partnered with Jesus and convinced her whole town to listen to Jesus (John 4:1-42).
When Jesus died on the cross, Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea partnered together to get His body and prepare it for burial (John 19:38-42). What one couldn’t do alone, two could.
Today, in our generation, partnership is still the way God works in this world. It is through His people working together—voicing the truth, living the victory, and ministering the life-changing power of the gospel—that His will is made manifest on earth.
When Kenneth Copeland First Learned of Partnership
When Kenneth first started attending Oral Roberts University and serving Brother Roberts as part of his flight crew—more than 60 years ago—he was also his driver, which afforded him the opportunity to see firsthand the anointing on Brother Roberts’ life and ministry. Kenneth saw the power of God at work to heal and deliver. In meeting after meeting, he saw the miraculous take place. And the more he saw, the more he wanted that same anointing that was on Brother Roberts to be on this ministry. Like Brother Roberts, he wanted to see people set free.
The first time Kenneth heard Brother Roberts minister to his partners, he immediately wanted to become a partner. Kenneth says he remembers watching as people sowed into Brother Roberts’ ministry and connect their faith with his. Kenneth saw how they were tangibly joining with Brother Roberts in ministry. That was covenant!
The Point and the Power of Kenneth’s Personal Partnership Story
Once Kenneth and Gloria became partners with Oral Roberts’ Ministry, they set out to learn all they could about partnership. Kenneth knew that before he could believe God for people who would become their partners, he had to develop his own relationship of covenant partnership with God. Out of prayerful study, God gave Kenneth three revelations about partnership that he lives and preaches to this day.
First, God showed him how the law of seedtime and harvest work with the seeds of faith we sow into the good soil of the ministry of God’s Word. “As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night” (Genesis 8:22).
Second, God showed him the special relationship that releases the reward of the prophet to those who support him. “If you receive a prophet as one who speaks for God, you will be given the same reward as a prophet. And if you receive righteous people because of their righteousness, you will be given a reward like theirs. And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded” (Matthew 10:41-42).
And third, God revealed to Kenneth the value of being able to partake of the grace operating in a ministry with which you are partnered. “Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a special place in my heart. You share with me the special favor of God, both in my imprisonment and in defending and confirming the truth of the Good News” (Philippians 1:4-7).
These three revelations are the principles upon which Kenneth and Gloria pray daily prayers of faith for their Partners. Kenneth knows that every Partner shares equally in the rewards—both in heaven and on earth—that God pours out on KCM and EMIC, and through them, to others. And as he activates his faith for you, he believes you will receive all the blessings God has planned for partnership!
Partnership Is Activated by Faith
It’s one thing to know we have a covenant, but it’s another thing to live in that covenant and experience the full extent of its benefits. To do that, once you hear the Word of God, once you hear God’s promises to you, then you apply corresponding action. You act. You do something, and you do whatever you do in faith. Faith is an act.
Kenneth activated his covenant relationship with Brother Roberts and his ministry by giving what he was able to give while believing for more. And when the “more” came, he gave it too! On top of that, Gloria joined her faith with Kenneth’s when he told her that they had become Oral Roberts’ partners.
Every covenant must be activated by faith, and you and I are the ones who must put faith into action. That’s the reason the Lord instructed Kenneth and Gloria to always call their Partners “Covenant Partners.” They are in covenant with their Partners.
Join Kenneth In Believing God for 1 Million Partners
Since those early days of ministry, Kenneth and Gloria have never stopped praying for their Partners, nor have they stopped praying for even more Partners to join them in believing God to accomplish all that He’s called each one of us to do while we walk this earth. They know firsthand The Power of Partnership. That’s why this year Kenneth and Gloria, Pastors George and Terri Copeland Pearsons, and all the KCM and EMIC Team are believing God for a total of 1 MILLION PARTNERS by year’s end.
There is much work to be done before Jesus comes, and together, as Partners, we will carry out His will, see millions more come to make Jesus their Lord, and fulfill all God’s plans. Won’t you join us? Partner with KCM and EMIC, with Kenneth and Gloria, and change the course of your life and the lives of generations to come.
