We invite you to add your supply of faith with ours and pray with us during one or more of our 2022 National Day of Prayer events.
Thursday, May 5 is our National Day of Prayer, and we’ve already started praying! It has been prophesied, “America is experiencing a rebirth as a nation.” Therefore, we are praying by faith to that end. Remember what the Lord spoke to Pastor Terri Copeland Pearsons: There’s something about it when people who know how to use their faith come together and pray. So, make plans to join us this week for the following National Day of Prayer activities. We are excited to pray with you!

National Day of Prayer History
The National Day of Prayer is a vital part of America’s heritage. Since the first call to prayer in 1775, the Continental Congress asked the colonies to pray for wisdom in forming a nation. This has continued through our history. In 1863, President Lincoln proclaimed a day of “humiliation, fasting, and prayer.” In 1952, President Harry S. Truman signed a bill proclaiming that each subsequent president must declare a National Day of Prayer. And, in 1988, President Ronald Reagan amended this law, and designated the first Thursday of May as the National Day of Prayer. Each year, the president signs a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day.
The National Day of Prayer has great significance for us as a nation, as it enables us to recall and teach the way in which our Founding Fathers sought the wisdom of God when faced with critical decisions. It stands as a call for us to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people. The unanimous passage of the bill establishing the National Day of Prayer as an annual event, signifies that prayer is as important to our nation today as it was in the beginning.
