Awakening and revival begin when people repent, turn to God, give His Word first place, and no longer tolerate sin in their own lives. Awakening will flood in and remain when people hunger for Him, seek His presence and fill themselves with His Word.
Only an awakening to God will save any nation. Pray the following prayer, and set yourself in agreement with God’s will to change hearts and lives in America. Then, stay in faith and expect a mighty outpouring!
Father, because You care for Your people and want all mankind to walk in Your zōē life, I ask You for a great awakening to the things of God and mighty revival in our land.
Lord, begin revival in me first. I stir myself up. I choose life. I receive the fire of the Holy Ghost and choose to renew my mind by immersing myself in Your Word. I will feed on it until it flows out of my mouth in mountain-moving faith!
Holy Spirit of God, I yield to You. You are the Living Water, and so out of my innermost being I allow rivers of living water to flow out of my mouth over this nation. By faith I declare great awakening and revival in the United States of America!
I am called by Your Name. I am a member of the Body of Christ—a victorious people, the Church triumphant. I cry out to You, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in the mighty Name of Jesus, for the healing and reviving of our nation. I declare this nation and its government belong to You, and to us, representatives of Your kingdom on the earth. We will never yield them over to the devil. We’ll not yield our ground. You are Lord of this nation!
I send forth ministering angels to reap a harvest of revival and awakening in this land that was dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ from its earliest days. I proclaim and receive awakening in my home, my church, my community, the marketplace, my place of employment and my country.
You said in Habakkuk 2:14, “The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” Let this nation be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord from coast to coast, from border to border, and in all the halls of government from local communities, cities and states, to the highest seats in our federal government. Let Washington, D.C., be flooded with Your glory. Give our leaders on every level, a hunger and thirst after righteousness, and a loathing for corruption of any kind.
Lord of the harvest, send forth laborers who with all boldness will minister Your Word to the people of this land and our government officials. Raise up godly men and women who are strong in You and in the power of Your might to run for government office on every level. Pour out Your Spirit on all flesh in America. Show Yourself strong with signs, wonders and miracles. I praise You and bless You for it. I set my faith that a tide of mighty change for God is rising in this nation. I pray this in the Name that is above all names, the Name of Jesus! I believe I receive it now! Amen.
