7 Reasons To Have Hope for America

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

As the attacks on America’s godly heritage seem to come one after another, many Christians are left wondering, Where do we go from here? We have two choices—fear or faith. Discouragement comes quickly when we focus our attention on the daily news more than on the Word of God. If you’ve found yourself wondering if all hope is lost, we have good news for you!

Here are 7 Reasons To Have Hope for America.

1. Pastors Are Rising Up

“Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.” –Jeremiah 3:15 (NIV)

Most history books don’t teach it, but pastors played a significant role in the founding of our nation. The Black Robe Regiment was a group of pastors who were not only patriotic but also courageous. Their passion for standing up for what is right was largely responsible for the forming of the United States of America.

Over the years, the strength and boldness of pastors has waned in the face of government threats of pulling tax-exempt status; slapping heavy fines on churches for refusing to adhere to unconstitutional mandates; and in recent times, threats of jail time for meeting in person.

Here’s the good news.

Pastors are rising up again. They are rising up, just as those in the Black Robe Regiment did nearly 250 years ago. They are standing for truth, righteousness and religious freedom, and they’re doing so at their own personal risk. They are encouraging their congregations to engage in culture and make their voices heard.

Just as the apostles did in Acts 4, pastors and leaders are beginning to ask for more boldness. They are learning that, not only will their churches not implode, they will grow! And just as in Acts, great signs, wonders and power will come upon the Church.

If you’re a pastor and you’ve been afraid to take a stand, now is your time. Step out and refuse to be shackled by fear. Join your fellow pastors in such a time as this, and stand for our nation. You are a reason we can have hope for America.

2. Christians Are Speaking Up

“The righteous are bold as a lion.” –Proverbs 28:1 (NIV)

Christians have moved from concern and the battling of discouragement to ACTION. We’ve watched, and we’ve waited. But now is the time to speak up, and we are making a difference!

People who have been silent in the past are unwilling to stay silent any longer. They are speaking up in schools and neighborhoods, standing up to unbiblical and unconstitutional government mandates, and running for office! They are answering the call and the responsibility to rise up and be bold with their faith. We hope you’re one of them!

Remember: What is unfolding in our nation today isn’t Republican or Democrat, it isn’t about race or gender, it is about good and evil. A righteous stand is being made because, as believers, we know that God has given us the victory! Our stand is not a stand against people, but against evil principalities.

Christians are rising up and speaking up—a big and encouraging reason to have hope for America.

3. We’re Praying Like Never Before

“These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication.” –Acts 1:14 (KJV)

“Through the years, America has seen her share of pain. Time and again men of greed and evil agendas have sought to throw her off course from the purposes of her founding. But despite those evil attempts, God has always had a praying people, working with the Holy Spirit to ensure America would stay the course of God’s intentions.” –Gene Bailey, host of FlashPoint

Instead of turning a blind eye or succumbing to discouragement, Christians are doing something different—we’re praying like never before. We’re seeing prayer meetings, prayer calls, prayer conferences, house prayer meetings and powerful prayer movements like The Return in Washington, D.C., just to name a few.

We’re traveling, we’re taking time off, we’re setting aside more personal time all to pray for revival, as well as for the protection of our freedoms, and for America to get back to her foundation on God. That’s a powerful reason to have hope for America.

4. We’re Fighting For Religious Freedom

“Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. –2 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV)

The First Amendment of The United States Constitution reads as follows:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof….”

Fast forward almost 250 years, and religious freedom is one of the most pressing issues in American culture today. Jesus set us free not only in the spirit, but in natural matters, as well. We are free from the curse, and we are created for dominion—that includes the right to live under the benefit and blessing of religious freedom.

What is religious freedom?

Religious freedom is more than the freedom to worship at a synagogue, church or mosque. It means that people shouldn’t have to go against their core values and beliefs in order to conform to a culture or government. It protects the rights of people to live, act and speak according to their beliefs, peacefully and publicly.

Conscience is an individual’s most sacred right. A government that intrudes on conscience will not hesitate to intrude on all other freedoms.

Religious freedom is worth fighting for because it is what made America great in the first place. God is the God of freedom. When a government tries to force churches to close, perform same-sex weddings and provide abortion coverage to employees, they’ve crossed a line. When schools villainize Christians, seek to silence students and prevent them from expressing their faith, we have reached mission critical.

If we remain silent by choice, it won’t be long until we’re made to be silent by force. Millions of people in our nation know this, and they are fighting for religious freedom by speaking out. You can, too. That’s a reason to have hope for America.

5. Revival Is Here

“Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?” —Psalm 85:6 (NIV)

“Our history tells of many mighty moves of God, spiritual awakenings that have always brought people back to the roots of our godly inheritance. So here we are, now in our day and our time. There are attempts again being made to overthrow the plans of God for America. Our godly heritage is being challenged, and America’s future as a Christian nation is hanging in the balance. Chaos and contention are raging as evil has raised its ugly head seeking to silence, discredit and dismantle the greatest threat to the accomplishment of their plots and schemes—the awakened church.” –Gene Bailey, host of FlashPoint

We’ve waited. And now it’s here. Reports of revival are popping up in cities across the nation. Tent meetings with thousands of attendees are happening in California. The Church is waking up, and we are ushering in a mighty move of God.

What can you do? Don’t hide from the darkness Boldly move forward and shine your light. Determine that you’re going to be a part of this great awakening by doing your part. That is what will protect our freedom, and it is a wonderful reason to have hope for America.

6. God Is Not Done with America

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” –2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

Countless prophecies have declared this—God is not done with America. While the words of the prophets give us hope and something to say, it’s also good to take our hope straight from scripture. We know we can have hope for America because we, as God’s people, have honored 2 Chronicles 7:14. We have prayed, repented and humbled ourselves. We are turning from the wicked ways of not engaging and/or ignoring God’s laws. It doesn’t take the whole nation; it just takes His people.

Even though it may not always look like things are working out in our favor, we know that God hears every prayer. His promise to us is that He will forgive us and heal our land. We can take that to the bank because He has given us His Word, and He is not a man that He should lie.

Thank God today that He is healing our land even now. God’s definitely not done with America. Give glory to God!

7. We Are Overcomers

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” —Revelation 12:11 (NKJV)

The most important part of Revelation 12:11 to keep in mind for our discussion is the first two words—They overcame. Yes, there’s victory to be had for those who have faith in the blood of Jesus and who aren’t afraid to speak the word of their testimony, even when their lives are threatened.

We can have hope for America because we, too, can overcome the enemy the same way. We are victorious through Jesus—even if things get tough, even when we face persecution, even when there seems to be more bad news than good. We are overcomers.

How do we overcome the enemy in our nation?

We plead the blood of Jesus over America, and we boldly declare that America is turning back to its godly foundations and will stand stronger than ever for righteousness and for God. Let that be your testimony today and every day. Speak the Word concerning our nation. Plead the blood of Jesus over your city, your state and country. We are overcomers!
