5 Reasons Why It’s God’s Will To Heal You

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Do you need healing in your body today? It doesn’t matter whether you are suffering from the symptoms of a cold or something far more serious; God’s will is to heal you. How do we know this? Consider these 5 Reasons Why It’s God’s Will To Heal You.

1. When Jesus walked the earth, He assured us that He only did the will of His Father.

“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 6:38, NKJV).

“The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what he sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does” (John 5:19, NKJV).

“For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak” (John 12:49, NKJV).

If Jesus came from heaven to only do the will of His Father, to only speak what His Father told Him to speak, and to do only what His Father told Him to do, then what does Scripture show Jesus spending His time doing? Matthew 10 gives us a very clear picture:

And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease…. These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give” (verses 1, 5-8, NKJV).

Luke 10 tells us more: “Now after this the Lord chose and appointed seventy others and sent them out ahead of Him, two by two, into every town and place where He Himself was about to come (visit)” (verse 1, AMPC). Then Jesus goes on to say: “The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house…. And heal the sick that are therein” (verses 2-5, 9, KJV).

From these scriptures, there should be no doubt, no argument and no wondering about whether it is the will of God to heal the sick—including you. God is for you, and He wants you to settle this truth in your heart so you can receive your healing.

2. God’s Spiritual Power Is Still Actively Healing Today

God heals us with His power, and His spiritual power has been affecting this physical world since time began. In fact, it was spiritual power released in the form of God’s Word that brought this natural world into existence in the first place. That same power heals today. Genesis 1: 1-26 (KJV) tells us:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light….
“And God said, Let there be a firmament….
“And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together….
“And God said, Let the earth bring forth….
“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night….
“And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly….
“And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind….
“And God said, Let us make man in our image.”

Considering these verses, how can we not believe that the force that originally brought everything we can see and touch, including our physical bodies, is still capable of changing our bodies today? Romans 8:11 tells us, “And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you” (AMPC). What a promise! Where in your body do you need healing?

3. God has already declared you healed.

By the stripes of Jesus, you were healed (1 Peter 2:24).

“I am the LORD that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26, KJV).

“The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up” (James 5:15, KJV).

When we believe God’s Word, we get in alignment with His Word, which means we get in alignment with His will. Be sure you understand His Word about your healing and agree with Him completely!

4. God has given you His authority over sickness and disease.

If God has already declared you healed, then you can start declaring it too. Matthew 28:18 (KJV) says, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” Jesus made this declaration after He rose from the dead. All authority belongs to Jesus—not just some. That means no authority is left for the devil—nothing!

Even better, Jesus has given us His authority. Use your authority and declare your healing. Declare it when you wake up in the morning. Declare it as you go about your day. Declare it before you sleep at night. Declare it in prayer all day long.

5. God has given you the power of prayer.

James 5:16 says, “The earnest, (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]” (AMPC). If you are believing for healing, take the following and speak it as your earnest, heartfelt, continued prayer. Keep it in front of you, declaring it in faith, and receive the power of healing in your body.

The gospel that I have heard is the power of God unto my salvation. I confess Jesus Christ as Lord over my life: spirit, soul and body. I receive the power of God to make me sound, whole, delivered, saved and healed now.

I act on the Word of God and receive the power of God. Sickness, disease and pain, I resist you in the Name of Jesus. Sickness, weakness and pain, you are not the will of God. I enforce the Word of God on you. I will not tolerate you in my life. Leave my presence, now. I will never allow you back. My days of sickness and disease are over.

I am saved. I am healed. The power of sickness has been forever broken over my life. Jesus bore my sickness. Jesus bore my weakness and pain. I am forever free. Sickness shall no longer lord it over me. Sin shall no longer lord it over me. Fear shall no longer lord it over me. I have been redeemed from the curse of the Law.

I proclaim my freedom in the mighty Name of Jesus. Today, the gospel is the power of God to me unto salvation. I receive the gospel. I act on the gospel. I am made whole in Jesus’ Name.”

It is God’s will to heal you. And whether or not you see it today in your body, He is always working on our behalf. He is the Healer, and we are the healed.
