Releasing Covenant Power in Your Life

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A hand grenade contains explosive power that, when released, becomes an effective and powerful offensive and defensive weapon of war.

But consider this: Which soldier has a better result? The one who holds it in his hand or the one who pulls the pin and throws it, releasing the power into the atmosphere?

A hand grenade is no good as long as it sits dormant in the hands of the owner. It requires action on the part of the holder to see results. Covenant power is the same. It’s right in your hand, but the power has to be released into your life through willful actions.

Learn what your covenant really means in this video from Kenneth Copeland and Professor Greg Stephens.

You can count on your covenant to release power into your life every time you “pull the pin.” A covenant combines two people into one—like in a marriage. That means they are inseparable. The same is true of your covenant with God—you cannot be separated from Him, His power or the THE BLESSING without your consent. You can release covenant power in your life by doing the following.

1. Release Covenant Power With Your Words

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” –Mark 11:23 (NKJV)

Here’s the skinny: Words have sink-or-swim power in your life. (Find out if you’re sinking your own ship with your words HERE.)

Words can either quicken or shut down the covenant in your life. Every covenant benefit is available to you 24/7, but they have to be activated and claimed, first and foremost, through your words. You can release the following covenant BLESSINGS in your life with your words:

  • Health
  • Healing
  • Debt Freedom
  • A Home
  • A Car
  • Financial Abundance
  • Children
  • Health and Positive Relationships
  • Peace
  • Protection
  • Long Life
  • Every Good and Perfect Gift

Your words set spiritual law in motion to release covenant power in your life. (Not so sure? Try this experiment at home and find out how much power words really have.)

But if you’re speaking AGAINST any of those things, you’re clogging up the delivery system of BLESSINGS to your life. Whatever you need today, start speaking it into being —just as Abraham called things that be not as though they were before He saw His covenant BLESSING come to pass.

Kenneth Copeland recently shared how he invokes his covenant right to protection every time he travels.

“I don’t get in my car or fly my airplane without invoking the Name of Jesus. I put my hands on the side of the car or airplane. I plead the blood in the Name of The LORD Jesus Christ for protection against every evil spirit and every evil person, and declare that every evil plan of the devil is stopped and thwarted. I call on ministering angels to lift us up, according to the 91st Psalm.”

These are covenant words. And they are crucial to releasing covenant power in every area of your life, which itself is the key to a prosperous, successful life.

2. Release Covenant Power With Your Actions

“I will show you my faith by my works.” –James 2:18 (NKJV)

If you believe in the covenant and speak right words, you’re talking the talk—but are you walking the walk?

True faith cannot help but act. We see this in Matthew 15:22 when a woman of Canaan came to Jesus saying, “Have mercy (chesed) on me!” He could not walk away from that. She was acting on the covenant of mercy by reaching out to take what she needed—healing for her daughter—by faith.

Bartimaeus, who was blind, did the same. He cried out for chesed. When opposition came, he cried out even louder, “Chesed!” His action, coming from a place of knowing what was available to him, could not be ignored. (What is chesed? Find out HERE.)

You release covenant power with your actions when you start taking steps according to a faith that believes it will receive, without a doubt. That will look different in various situations. Faith for a car, for example, may begin with cleaning the one you have, sowing a seed, preparing a space in the garage or any other Spirit-led action. But faith doesn’t sit still. It bubbles up to overflowing, and it can’t help but act on what it KNOWS God will provide.

When you keep the words of the covenant and act on what you know belongs to you, BLESSINGS happen.

3. Release Covenant Power By Expecting Results

“All things are possible to him who believes.” –Mark 9:23 (NKJV)

Covenant power is released by expectancy, not hesitancy!

God’s covenant with you is an expression of His mercy, kindness and goodness, and more than that, it is a blood-sworn promise that He will never break. That’s why you can lean on that covenant for your healing, protection, provision or anything else you need with complete confidence.

When God made a covenant with him, Abraham knew there was no longer any room for doubt. God had proven how intensely He desired to be God to him. He’d given him everything He had and bound Himself to Abraham in a relationship that could not be dissolved. Abraham comprehended the gravity of a covenant agreement. It convinced him once and for all that God’s promises could be trusted. It became an anchor to his soul.

You release covenant power in your life by expecting results—not wishing or hoping—EXPECTING. If you’re expecting a package in the mail, you don’t wish and hope for it; you look for it! You prepare for its arrival. If it’s something fun, you get excited about receiving it. And you do all this BEFORE you receive it.

(Learn how you can move into covenant thinking HERE.)

Stop and think about the one thing you want most right now. Do you have it in your mind? Now, what would you do if you knew with 100% certainty that you would receive it tomorrow? That’s precisely what faith will do. Whatever emotions you would experience or plans you would make, that’s expectancy! And singing, dancing, praising and worshipping before the Lord should be part of it.

Do you want to release covenant power in your life? Then dig into the covenant you have with God. Study it out in the Word. Let the Holy Spirit show you what really happened when Jesus became the sacrifice that ratified your covenant with God. Let Him show you what it meant when He gave you His Name (John 16:23), His authority (Matthew 28:18-20), His armor and weapons (Ephesians 6:10-17).

Once you realize what Jesus actually meant when He said, “This is the new covenant established in My blood,” your life will never be the same again.
