The KCM Street Evangelism Team Prepares for a Powerful SWBC 2025

As the KCM Evangelism Team prepares its volunteers for the most significant year yet, it’s essential to understand its foundation.

Riley Stephenson started listening to Kenneth Copeland over 25 years ago. He was sitting in a service at the Southwest Believers’ Convention (SWBC) in Fort Worth, Texas. That’s when he asked the LORD, “What’s my vision?” He felt impressed to read Matthew 6:33 and Luke 19:10:

“Seek first His kingdom, His righteousness,” he said about the rhema word from God. “Follow His way of seeking and saving the lost, then all these things will be added.” Stephenson took that as His personal commission. He was to find those who were lost by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with them.

“Brother Copeland’s passion inspired me,” he said. “I recognized many Christians were hungry to reach others but lacked the confidence to evangelize. In 1998, I started serving with Eagle Mountain International Church’s (EMIC) outreach team,” Riley said.

In 2000, as a Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM) Partner and EMIC volunteer. His evangelism training became the foundation of the evangelism team, but Riley was unaware of this at the time. By 2003, he began volunteering with EMIC’s “Friday Night Evangelism,” leading teams to events throughout Fort Worth.

It wasn’t immediate. Six years later, he hit the road, going to events as a KCM employee.

“The evangelism outreach developed organically at a Kenneth Copeland Ministries’ event in Anaheim, Calif.

Someone at the KCM Partner Booth said, ‘Riley, teach me how to win souls.’ It’s a simple enough request, but that was Riley’s on-switch. “That’s when I began equipping believers hands-on for street evangelism,” recalled Stephenson.

The first training sessions were simple: small groups at conferences.

“We saw remarkable results with people getting saved in hotel lobbies, restaurants and convention centers. By 2007, it became a structured evangelism training held at every major KCM event, empowering thousands of Partners to share Jesus confidently.

When Kenneth Copeland Bible College (KCBC) launched in 2018, Stephenson was the ideal instructor for the Personal Evangelism class. He continues training the Bible school students to this day and recruits members of the evangelism team there.

Why Evangelism Is Essential at KCM and for Believers Everywhere

Evangelism is at the heart of KCM’s mission: To teach believers worldwide who they are in Christ and how to operate in the scriptural truths of faith, divine healing, biblical prosperity, and the God kind of love, taking them from spiritual milk to meat, from religion to reality.

Evangelism is essential, not only for fulfilling KCM’s mission but also for believers everywhere who are walking with the Lord.

In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus said, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Believers find “The Great Commission” in those verses. Stephenson believes the scriptural truth to fulfill this command is by seeking and saving the lost (Luke 19:10).

According to Stephenson, the events at Kenneth Copeland Ministries draw people from around the world. “We want them to receive and to be activated,” he said. “Our evangelism training turns every convention into an outreach opportunity. Trainees don’t just learn; they go out immediately to win souls. It fulfills Jesus’ command to make disciples and allows KCM Partners to experience the power of God working through them.”

2025 Will Come Alive as We Fulfill the Great Commission

Brother Copeland gave the word of the Lord for this year: “2025 Will Come Alive.”

My mandate is to awaken, teach, train, equip and mobilize our Partners to fulfill the Great Commission,” said Stephenson.

He does this at the SWBC evangelism trainings by igniting attendees’ faith, activating their spiritual gifts, and inspiring bold action that multiplies the impact of the gospel, not only in Fort Worth but when they return home to their local areas.

This 8-year-old young man went out with the evangelism team in 2024, and he won over 100 souls for the Lord!

What You Can Expect at SWBC Evangelism Trainings

This year’s training schedule includes morning and evening sessions to accommodate attendees. Each day begins with training, followed by sending teams into Fort Worth for real-world outreach at hotels, bus stations, restaurants, and parks.

“We’ll gather daily testimonies to celebrate salvations and miracles,” said Stephenson. “In past years, the Evangelism Team has seen over 2,000 souls saved during SWBC week alone. We believe for even greater numbers this year as more believers step up to lead.”

Attendees can expect dynamic sessions with hands-on practice, activation prayers, role-playing, hands-on outreach and hearing inspirational stories about faith. Previous trainees will model how to share Jesus boldly. Many who trained in past years are now leaders in their local areas, leading groups and teaching the same soul-winning method that changed their lives.

The Future of the Evangelism Outreach at KCM

The future of the evangelism outreach at KCM is expansion, both in reach and depth, from the top of the world to the bottom and all the way around the middle, as we like to say around here.

“We’re developing online evangelism courses so Partners who can’t attend in person can still be equipped. We plan to increase our regional training worldwide, empowering local churches to train up soul winners year-round,” said Stephenson. “Our heart is for evangelism to become a global movement, a lifestyle so every believer knows how to confidently share Jesus with everyone, everywhere (Mark 16:15 TLB).”
