Have you wondered what happened when Jesus overcame death on the cross, when He paid the ultimate price for humanity, died and then rose again? So often when people picture Jesus, they envision Him still hanging on the cross. But that’s not the whole story. Jesus overcame death! Think about that: Jesus overcame death!
From the point when He died on the cross to the point when He rose again on the third day, important events happened. Psalm 88:6 says, “You have cast me into the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.” Jesus took on every bit of The Curse: spiritual death, sickness, disease, poverty and lack. He suffered it, so you wouldn’t have to. And the result? Deliverance, authority and blessing for you!

• “[Jesus said,] ‘The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again. No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.’” –John 10:17-18
• “Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit. So he went and preached to the spirits in prison—those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat … Now Christ has gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the angels and authorities and powers accept his authority.” –1 Peter 3:18-22
Praise God! Jesus is no longer hanging on the cross. He has overcome death! He has overcome the curse! He is risen! Because of this historic act, you are no longer under the curse. You are free from the penalty of sin, from sickness and disease and from lack of any kind. Jesus paid for all of that and more. He paid the price for you!
