24 Ways to Stay in the Will of God

24 Ways to Stay in the Will of God

Wondering if you’re in the perfect will of God? Find out how you can be in position to receive all He has for you with these 24 ways to stay in the will of God.

If you don’t get arrested, you’re living all right, right? That’s what many people living in the world’s system think! Without the Word of God, they really have no basis for right living. Gloria Copeland says, “I don’t care if you’re a housewife or if you’re sitting on the Supreme Court, you need something to be a foundation in your life, and there is no other foundation except obeying the Word of God.”

God’s Word is His will for you.

In 1987, Gloria Copeland received a revelation from the Lord while ministering in South Africa. As she was reading Romans 12, she began to see a perfect outline for living in the will of God. As she studied, she found 24 things that will keep you in the will of God. Of this chapter, Gloria says, “It exhorts us, instructs us, corrects us and inspires us.” It is a guide for Christian living and a standard of behavior that is pleasing to God.

If you want to see a change in your life, there first must be a change in you. Let the Word of God—these truths from Romans 12—convict you, minister to you and change you. Here are 24 ways to stay in the will of God.

1. Present Your Body as a Living Sacrifice

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” –Romans 12:1

When you’re born again, you are no longer a slave to sin. You can choose to be, but you don’t have to be. That’s what becoming a living sacrifice means. It involves being willing to give up activities, friends or habits that don’t match God’s best for your life—walking away from anything that is not pleasing to the Lord. It means making a daily decision to obey God’s Word and do what He says, rather than what the world says.

2. Do Not Be Conformed to This World

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world.” –Romans 12:2

Do people know you’re a Christian? Even more, do they know you live differently than they do? If you’re watching the same media, handling marriage troubles the same way, gossiping, deep in debt, and just as sick as they are—what’s the difference? If you’re cranky, sad, frustrated and stressed—why would they want what you have?

If you want to live in God’s perfect will, you’ll guard your heart, obey God’s laws even when it’s tough, and let the Holy Spirit fill you until no one around you can help but ask what it is that gives you peace, joy and hope.

3. Renew Your Mind

“Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” –Romans 12:2

That word transformed is the same word used in Matthew 17, where it says: Jesus was transfigured. When He was transfigured, the glory of God inside Him—in His spirit—shone forth through His flesh and clothing. This is how He was transfigured. When you renew your mind by mediating on the Word of God and letting it get down in your spirit, it changes you in that same way. You become transfigured. The Word of God separates you from the things of the world and sin, and it changes the way you choose to live.

4. Don’t Think So Highly of Yourself

“Don’t think you are better than you really are.” –Romans 12:3

How can you recognize if you think you’re better than other people? If you’re quick to judge or quick to criticize—those are the main symptoms of a proud heart.

Thinking that everything you do is right and that everyone should do it just like you is thinking too highly of yourself. That means if you judge others in their parenting, or for what they choose to eat or drink, or what types of media they consume—you have a proud spirit. Make those decisions for yourself, but don’t assume to decide that others should do exactly the same.

Watch as Kenneth Copeland teaches you how to merge your will with God’s.

5. Use Your Gifts by Faith

“God has given us different gifts.” –Romans 12:6

Each of us has different gifts! And no one person can do it all—we all need each other equally. So, appreciate the gifts of others, and don’t be jealous. One person’s success does not equal your failure. Helping others succeed in their calling and building others up is one of the most fulfilling things you can do.

Find your place in God’s house, and don’t despise what you perceive to be the “lowly” acts of service. They will qualify you for greater places of responsibility if you serve with faithfulness and humility.

6. Don’t Be a Hypocrite

“Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them.” –Romans 12:9

Are you the kind of person who acts like someone’s friend, but turns around and gossips about him or tears him down? That’s love with hypocrisy—it’s phony, or what we call two-faced—and it is displeasing to the Lord. To obey God and walk in love toward others, you aren’t just nice to people to their faces, you’re loving and kind toward them even when they aren’t around.

7. Hate What Is Evil

“Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.” –Romans 12:9 (NIV)

Don’t make excuses for abortion, homosexuality, divorce or any other sin. While we love people, we are instructed to hate those things God says are evil and cling (hold tightly) to what is good (righteous, godly). We do this in our conversations, in our choice of media, and in the voting booth, even if it means we are shunned or villainized for our beliefs.

8. Honor Others Above Yourself

“Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.” –Romans 12:10

We live in a “me first” society. Everyone seems to be clawing for the first place in line, the best seat in the movie theater, and compliments from the boss. But that self-centered attitude is not in line with the will of God for your life. Make it a point to honor others above yourself. In doing so, you’ll find yourself blessed beyond measure and in line for the greatest honor there is—that which comes from God.

9. Don’t Be Lazy

“Never be lazy, but work hard….” –Romans 12:11

Physical diligence at work is the path to a great reward, but this is speaking of spiritual diligence. To love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul and strength takes zeal! To love others is work, and to seek God with all your heart requires daily diligence. Don’t be lazy! There is great reward for those who work hard in spiritual things.

10. Be Fervent in Spirit

“Keep your spiritual fervor.” –Romans 12:11 (NIV)

The Greek word for fervent means “boiling.” Your spirit can be boiling over with a passion for the things of God. Refuse to be indifferent about the lost around you or the wickedness in your nation. Take a fervent stand, and let your passion for God and His ways be the most powerful part of who you are.

11. Rejoice in Hope

“Be joyful in hope….” –Romans 12:12 (NIV)

No matter what is going on your life—you always have hope. Jesus came to give you that hope, and He is the answer to every problem you face. That’s a reason to rejoice! There is great power toward breaking loose when you choose to rejoice in the Lord always—again, rejoice!

12. Be Patient in Tribulation

“…patient in tribulation….” –Romans 12:12 (KJV)

Kenneth Copeland often says that “faith and patience are the power twins.” You can’t have one without the other. If you want to see a manifestation of God’s promises in your life, patience is the vehicle that will take you to the finish line.

13. Be Fervent in Prayer

“…continuing steadfastly in prayer….” –Romans 12:12 (NKJV)

When you’ve prayed and prayed about a situation and haven’t seen a change, it’s easy to want to give up. But don’t! Continue steadfastly in prayer. There’s a reason we’re told to do so over and over.

14. Give to Other Christians

“Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.” –Romans 12:13 (NIV)

Be on the lookout for believers who need what you have available to share. Whether it’s money, babysitting, lawn care, a ride somewhere, or just a word of encouragement—determine that you won’t let a brother or sister in the Lord go without what they need if you can help it.

15. Bless Those Who Persecute You

“Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.” –Romans 12:14

Being kind to people who have hurt us is one of the most challenging decisions we have to make as believers. Don’t wait to feel like it! Make a decision. If they need help—help them. If they are sick—take them soup. Say only kind words to them, and pray for them.

16. Stand by Others

“Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.” –Romans 12:15 (NKJV)

When someone is going through a difficult season, resist the urge to ask, “What can I do?” The answer will almost always come back, “Nothing.” Instead, simply look for ways to be a help. Buy them groceries, bring them a meal, take their kids to the zoo, hire them a housekeeper, or mow their lawn. Be intentional in showing empathy (not pity). That is how to weep with those who weep.

On the other hand, rejoice when those around you have reason to do the same! You may find yourself in a difficult place in your own life and celebrating may be a stretch, but don’t let that stop you from giving others the support they so dearly need.

17. Pursue Unity With Christians

“Live in harmony with each other.” –Romans 12:16

Small doctrinal differences should not divide us from one another. Make unity, not legalism or criticism, your aim. Grace and love are what lead people in the right direction—not guilt and condemnation.

18. Do Not Be Arrogant

“Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.” –Romans 12:16 (NIV)

Don’t get stuck in your own clique! Spend time with those who are of different backgrounds, races, ages, positions and economic statuses. You’ll find having a variety of people in your life will bless you more than you could have ever imagined.

19. Don’t Think You Know It All

“Do not be wise in your own opinion.” –Romans 12:16 (NKJV)

No one is ever 100% right! The truths of the Bible require revelation and Holy Spirit anointing. Consider that you may not see a matter in every way God intended. Some things are clear and indisputable, but for those that aren’t, have enough humility to know that you don’t know it all.

20. Don’t Get Back at People

“Never pay back evil with more evil.” –Romans 12:17

What does it mean to repay evil for evil? When someone lashes out with harsh words, you lash back. When someone steals an opportunity, you seek to undercut them in another way. When someone does you wrong—don’t respond by lashing back. Obey God and you’ll see favor surround you like a shield.

21. Behave Honorably

“Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.” –Romans 12:17

Everything described in Romans 12 is how to behave honorably. Humility; showing others kindness and respect, empathy, encouragement; and refusing to lash out at those who mistreat us. That is honorable living.

22. Live in Peace With Everyone

“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” –Romans 12:18 (NIV)

You can’t choose how others treat you, but you can certainly choose how you respond. Make sure your words and actions foster peace above all else.

23. Do Not Avenge Yourself

“Never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, ‘I will take revenge; I will pay them back,’ says the Lord.” –Romans 12:19

What should we do instead? Verse 20 tell us, “Instead, if your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.”

Find A 6-Step Guide to Responding to Your Enemies here.

24. Overcome Evil With Good

“Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.” –Romans 12:21

There is freedom in doing what’s right, and when you choose to respond kindly when someone does evil, you’ll keep your power of position and be in the will of God—the safest, most prosperous place to be.

When you practice these 24 ways to stay in the will of God from Romans 12, you will stay in the will of God and be in position to receive every good and perfect gift. Don’t be discouraged if you have quite a few to work on (we all do!); just set your heart on things above, let God correct you, and rejoice in your progress. Then, watch as doors that have been jammed shut swing right open.

7 Ways to Stand for Rebellious Children

7 Ways to Stand for Rebellious Children

Are you the parent of a rebellious child? There is hope. Find out how you can stand for a rebellious or prodigal child and finally see the miracle you’ve been praying for.

No one ever said parenting was easy. When you first bring your babies home from the hospital, there is so much hope and possibility for who they will become and what kind of lives they’ll lead. It doesn’t take long to realize that raising great kids is not automatic—it’s a lot of work! And you’ll have to contend for them every step of the way.

Whether their children are young or grown, many parents face the unexpected situation of dealing with a rebellious child or even a prodigal. The disappointment is stinging and the road often lonely. It can be difficult to even know where to start. First, we’ll begin with the basics.

What is rebellion?

A stubborn or rebellious spirit is one that rejects truth, challenges authority, and refuses to take personal responsibility for attitudes or actions. Further, a rebellious spirit is one that often, but not always, begins to turn away from God. Rick Renner explains that the word witchcraft comes from the Greek word pharmakeia, which refers to “the flesh’s attempts to avoid being confronted and changed.”

It’s important to understand that not all rebellious children are necessarily prodigals. Nonetheless, even the smallest hint of rebellion in the home must be dealt with immediately. Rolling the eyes, becoming angry when asked to take out the trash, or balking at the household rules will all open the door to a greater severity of rebellion down the line.

Perhaps your situation is much worse—stealing, lying, violence, drugs or alcohol abuse. Maybe your child is so far away from God, you can’t even see the possibility of his or her return. Know this: There is hope for your child. You are not powerless. You can see the miracle you’ve been praying for with these seven ways to stand for rebellious children.

1. Put Feelings Aside

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” –Romans 8:14 (KJV)

You’re hurt. You’re disappointed, shocked—even angry. You blame them. You blame yourself. You don’t know where to turn or what to do. When a child is rebellious, it is frustrating. When they’re extremely rebellious, it can feel downright devastating.

Here’s where you have to be careful. The devil preys on feelings—any feelings. You don’t even have to swing the door wide open—all he needs you to do is crack it open just a tiny bit—and he’s in. He’ll have you doubting your ability to parent, questioning the moment-by-moment well-being of your child, and plummeting into deep despair. The game plan? Don’t even give him the chance.

Put all feelings aside and focus on the TRUTH. Don’t be led by thoughts or emotions—be led by the Spirit in everything you say and do regarding your child.

2. Give Them Room

“‘Your children will come back to you from the distant land of the enemy. There is hope for your future,’ says the Lord. ‘Your children will come again to their own land.’” –Jeremiah 31:16-17

Mothers and fathers, take God’s Word for it. Receive Jeremiah 31:16-17 for yourself. Stop weeping for your children and start believing the Word. That’s the only thing that will bring them around. If necessary, go to your kids and ask their forgiveness for neglecting them.

Many times, rebellious children feel lost, insecure and angry, and are trying to discover their true identity. Give them room. The closer you push in, the more they will tend to back away from you. That doesn’t mean you stop being involved in their lives; it means you focus on encouraging and blessing them, rather than criticizing, condemning or pushing them to have a relationship with God.

Continue to set proper boundaries in your home or with their behavior toward you, depending on their ages. And don’t stop there. Take every opportunity to minister love to your children. Whenever they come around you, express your love in some way.

But overall, be led by the Spirit and give them the room they need to “come back to you from the distant land of the enemy.”

Watch Gloria Copeland and Billye Brim teach you how to stand for this generation.

3. Learn to Intercede

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” –James 5:16 (NKJV)

One of the most powerful and effective things you can do for a rebellious child is to pray for them. But you can’t just pray the sad, pleading prayers of a parent who wants reconciliation. No. You must learn to intercede. That’s where you put your own feelings aside and focus on God’s will for your child. Because God is the only One who truly knows what is going on in your son or daughter’s heart, praying in the spirit will be very effective as well.

There are many testimonies of rebellious or prodigal children making supernatural turnarounds solely due to the power of a praying parent. Just because you don’t see immediate results, don’t discount the power and influence you have in your prayer closet. Press in, keep on seeking, keep on knocking, keep on asking. The effective (based on the Word), fervent (continual, never-ceasing), prayer of a righteous mother or father will bring great results.

When you pray, declare the Word over them, prophesy over their lives, and praise God for the victory. You may not see it yet, but His Word says you have it!

4. Take Authority

“Behold, I give you the authority…over all the power of the enemy.” –Luke 10:19 (NKJV)

If your children are still living at home, the key is to address any sign of rebellion quickly. If you let simple backtalk slide one day, a rolling of the eyes the next, and then a refusal to complete chores or requests, it becomes a slippery slope toward greater and greater rebellion in your home. If you have young children, it begins now. Don’t wait and assume they’ll grow out of it—they won’t!

Even if your children are older, or grown and gone—it’s never too late to take your spiritual authority as their parent. We overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, so now is the time to bind and restrict the enemy in your family.

According to Galatians 3:13, Jesus already broke the power of the curse; then in Luke 10:19, He gave us all power and authority. That means we have the right to order Satan out of our children’s lives and to take authority over the spirit of rebellion. Begin by walking your home and declaring, “Thank God, my children are not going to hell. Thank God, they are taught of the Lord and great is their peace!” Instead of walking the floor worrying, walk the floor praising God for the solution!

You can even anoint their possessions with oil in the Name of the Lord Jesus and speak life over your children. Anoint their pillowcases, their doorframes, their cars. Whatever you do, stand and believe for your children, and kick Satan out of your family!

5. Set an Example

“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” –1 John 3:18 (ESV)

One reason some children are rebellious is that they haven’t seen the right example set at home. If you have lived with a spirit of rebellion yourself, that is the first thing you need to address.

Do you speak against your boss, the police, the government or the president? What are you modeling? And what spiritual door have you opened as a result?

Of respect in the home, Kenneth Hagin’s wife, Oretha, had this to say: “If a husband and wife don’t show love to each other, how can they expect their children to show love to others? And children need affection, too. It’s a sad thing for children to be raised in a home where no love and affection are shown.”

Spend time allowing the Lord to uncover any area of rebellion in your own heart. Clean up that area of your spiritual life, and close the door on the devil in this area once and for all.

6. Release Your Child to God

“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” –Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

One of the most difficult things to do as a parent is to release your children to God. Even when they aren’t in a state of rebellion or out of relationship with those who love them, there is always the temptation to keep them tightly within our grasp. We are called to guide, protect, discipline and set boundaries, but we are not called to worry. In fact, we’ve explicitly been told not to!

Continue to stand and believe for your children, but don’t try to force the matter. No matter what, refuse to worry. Release your child into God’s loving arms, and trust that His promises are sure.

7. Never Give Up

“Having done all…stand.” –Ephesians 6:13 (ESV)

Maybe it’s been years, even decades. Maybe you haven’t seen or even spoken to your child for longer than you can remember. All hope seems lost. At times, you’ve even wondered, Should I just move on with my life and forget about this?

Remember the words of David, when he said, “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!” (Psalm 27:13-14, NKJV).

Things may not change overnight, but you can be like Abraham and call things that be not as though they were. Say, “I’m not moved by what I see, hear or feel. I’m moved by what I believe, and I believe what God says!” Second Peter 2:9 says that God knows how to deliver. He knows how to do it, so give Him the opportunity. It doesn’t matter where your children are—right there in the room with you or a thousand miles away—grab hold of the Word and never give up. Sooner or later, the Word will grab hold of them!

Watch Gloria Copeland teach you the best way to pray for your children.

Begin putting these seven ways to stand for rebellious children into practice, and rest in the peace of God concerning your children. Love always believes the best. Believe your child is returning to the Lord, in Jesus’ Name. Those who have run from the Church will be the first in the doors. Reconciliations are on the horizon in the Name of Jesus. Your prayers for your child will be answered!

The 7 Laws of Prosperity

The 7 Laws of Prosperity

If you’re ready to live the life God desires you to have, it’s important to understand whole-life prosperity. Begin today with these 7 laws of prosperity.

Well-being. Success. Abundance. Overflow. These are all definitions of the good life—of prosperity. And despite religious tradition claiming that it is ungodly or selfish, prosperity is God’s will for you.

Have you ever noticed that the Scriptures don’t say God will give you just enough to get by? Instead, the Bible uses words like overflow, plentiful and abundance. God wants to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can even ask or think (Ephesians 3:19-21), and He tells us that His only plans for us are success (Jeremiah 29:11). That’s a prosperous life!

God wants to bless us with whole-life prosperity to establish His covenant with us, give us life more abundantly, and empower us to bless others and further the gospel of Jesus Christ. The idea that God wants His people sick, sad or living in poverty is completely against His Word and His very nature.

Find 60 Scriptures About Prosperity and Success here.

God isn’t opposed to our being rich. That doesn’t upset Him even a little. In fact, He delights in our prosperity (Psalm 35:27). He’s just opposed to our becoming covetous and greedy. God has a full supply, lacking nothing, and He wants us to be the same way.

If you’re ready to live the life He desires you to have, it’s important to first understand how to get there. Begin today with these 7 laws of prosperity.

1. Prosperity Is More Than Finances

“I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” –3 John 1:2 (NKJV)

Whenever someone mentions “the prosperity gospel,” especially in a negative sense, they are referring to money only. That’s certainly part of living life more abundantly, but that isn’t all Jesus had in mind. It would be easy to settle for spiritual prosperity, but that type of spiritual laziness does not bring glory to God and give full honor to what Jesus paid for us to enjoy here on earth. It is the will of God for us to be made whole—spirit, soul and body—and to be kept that way until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ (see 1 Thessalonians 5:23).

What is included in whole-life prosperity?

  1. Spiritual Prosperity. To prosper spiritually, you must be born again. When you accept Jesus as your Savior and make Him the Lord of your life, your spirit is reborn and brought into fellowship with the Father, Almighty God.
  2. Emotional Prosperity. True peace and joy cannot be found in this world without Christ. That’s why we see people remarrying over and over, using antidepressants, contemplating suicide, tearing other people down, using drugs or even questioning their God-given gender. That is not the abundant life Jesus came to give us, and it is anything but prosperity. Jesus fills the voids: He brings answers where there were questions, confidence where there was insecurity, hope where there was once hopelessness.
  3. Mental Prosperity. The world thinks of mental prosperity as simply “knowing it all,” but God had something much better in mind. Mental prosperity includes revelation knowledge, mental abilities beyond our own, and a sharp mind until the day we go home to heaven. It means casting down imaginations and being in control of your own thoughts.
  4. Physical Prosperity. The world’s system of healing makes a god of the hospital and a god of medicine. Actually, for the most part, it leaves God out entirely, and without God, it will not work! God has a better way. He wants you to walk in supernatural and divine health all the days of your life.
  5. Relational Prosperity. Only God can truly prosper you in the area of relationships. He is the giver of good and perfect gifts. He can bring reconciliation where the world would say all hope is lost, and He can grant you a strong and lasting marriage, and healthy family relationships and friendships. There is a special peace in relational prosperity. He wants you to have it.
  6. Accomplishment Prosperity. In other words—favor. When you have favor, it opens doors for you and causes things to go your way—even when, in the natural, it may not seem possible. When you succeed at something, you prosper. God desires us to have success in life!
  7. Financial Prosperity. If a man came to you needing clothes and you didn’t have any clothes to give, both of you would be in trouble. We are to prosper so that we might provide abundantly for our own families, bless those around us, and fund the work of the kingdom of God here on earth.

This is the basic, fundamental truth that runs throughout the entire Bible. Every time there was a need, no matter what that need was, God had a man somewhere who had the resources—spiritually, mentally or financially—to meet that need.

2. Tithing Is Tied to Prosperity

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse…and try Me now in this…if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” –Malachi 3:10 (NKJV)

Handling someone else’s money is the testing ground—the qualifier—for Kingdom prosperity. This all begins with the proper handling of what belongs to God—the tithe. Tithing is the open door to THE BLESSING that God set forth to meet your needs, bless you, and keep you prosperous.

In Deuteronomy 28, God spoke to the Israelites about the curse and THE BLESSING. But just prior, in Deuteronomy 26, He talked to them about letting Him in on their finances—through the tithe. Why? Not because God needed the money, but because they needed help. They were going into the Promise Land where there were many challenges. So, He told them about tithing, the curse and THE BLESSING, in that order.

And you know, it’s still the same today. If you’ve been thinking, I believe in tithing, but I just can’t afford it,you’re going backward. Because if you don’t let THE BLESSING in, the curse comes in.

Have questions about tithing? We have answers! Find them in “Tithing 101.

3. Debt Freedom Is Key to Prosperity

“The borrower is slave to the lender.” –Proverbs 22:7 (NIV)

Owing another man is bondage—a chain that belongs on no child of God. To live fully in prosperity, debt freedom is key. The world has a system of finance that is complex and very poor in operation. It continually rocks back and forth between the two extremes of depression and inflation.

However, when you are functioning in God’s system of finance, life can be very simple. Don’t borrow from anyone—get it from God. The problem with borrowing is that it is controlled by the world’s system. In order to borrow, you must subordinate yourself to another person. Instead, look to God, He will give to you, not loan to you!

Learn 5 Ways to Overcome Financial Pressure here.

When Kenneth and Gloria Copeland first set out to obey God according to Romans 13:8, which says “owe no one anything” (NKJV), they had a long way to go! However, they were determined. They sat down and wrote out what it would take to operate their household abundantly. Then they prayed over it in the Name of Jesus. At that moment, they made up their minds to never borrow money again, and in less than 12 months, they did not owe anything and haven’t owed a penny since.

4. Pay Taxes Without Grumbling

“Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.” –Romans 13:7

One of the major things that will foul up your life where prosperity is concerned is bad-mouthing the government and its leaders, particularly in the area of taxation. Most people are operating in strife where their taxes are concerned, and it has a direct relationship to the government that provides our financial system. One day the Lord told Brother Copeland, “Quit grumbling and complaining about your tax money. Pay it cheerfully the way you do your tithe, and I’ll bless it.” From then on, he and Gloria started praying over their tax money—just as they do their tithe—and they have never had a tax bill that they couldn’t pay.

Get strife and hard feelings toward your government out of your heart! The Word says we are to pray and give thanks for our leaders, not bad-mouth them! When you begin to change your heart and come into obedience to God’s Word in this area, it will open an area of prosperity you didn’t even know existed, and you will live in an abundance of peace in your land.

Watch Kenneth Copeland teach about the laws of prosperity.

5. You Must Know How to Give and Receive

“Give and it shall be given unto you.” –Luke 6:38 (KJV)

The spiritual law of prosperity contains both giving and receiving. Jesus knew the spiritual law of giving, and He operated it proficiently. He gave to the poor at such an astonishing rate that when Judas left the room during the Last Supper, some people thought that he must be going to give to the poor.

Do you want a hundredfold return on your money—to live in financial prosperity? Give and let God multiply it back to you. No bank in the world offers this kind of return! Praise the Lord!

As believers, we need to exercise faith not only in seeking how much and where to sow, but also in receiving the harvest on the seeds we sow. Harvesting is vitally important because there are always more people that the Lord can empower us to bless when we are receiving the good things He has for us. Don’t get stuck in false humility, refusing to receive what God desires to give you. Instead, become a good giver and a good receiver—it’s spiritual law!

6. You Must Choose God’s System

“Be not conformed to this world.” –Romans 12:2 (KJV)

There are two choices before you—the world’s system or God’s system. This is true if you want to enjoy prosperity in your health, finances, mind, relationships, peace, joy or any other area of life. The world tells you to go deeper and deeper in debt, expect to get sick or diseased, get divorced if you don’t like your spouse, and do whatever makes you feel good in the moment. But those aren’t God’s ways. The Bible says the things of God are foolishness to the world (1 Corinthians 2:14).

The world will always give you the option of choosing its system, but God’s way is always the better way. When you come to a crossroad, you’ll see the world calling you to believe in pharmaceuticals, information on the internet, or the latest research. “This is the answer!” they’ll shout. Don’t expect God’s best to come from the world’s system. He will work around and through it in order to reach you, but it is always far below His best.

Don’t be conformed to this world. Choose God’s way—it always leads to prosperity.

7. You Will Have What You Say

“He shall have whatsoever he saith.” –Mark 11:23 (KJV)

In Mark 11:23, Jesus introduced a principle—a spiritual law—that works. It doesn’t make sense to the natural mind that with faith you can have whatever you say even though it may be contrary to what you can see with your physical eyes. But Jesus said it, and by the eternal Almighty God, it is so! When you act on it, mix your faith with it, and don’t doubt in your heart, this spiritual law will work for you!

God created all things by the power of His Word. Each time God spoke, He released His own faith—which was the very creative power that brought His words to pass. In doing so, He demonstrated how words are spiritual containers that carry the power to shape our destiny. Our words contain and release our faith. But what is most exciting is that when we speak God’s words about our lives, we release the creative power of God’s faith into our situations.

Watch Kenneth Copeland teach about the law of words at Kenneth Copeland Bible College™!

So, every time we confess the Word of God from a heart that’s confident God will do in our lives what He said—according to Jesus in Mark 11:24—we shall have what we say.

These seven laws of prosperity work the same as the laws of salvation, healing and so forth. We are dealing with the same God, the same Word, the same Jesus, the same force of faith and the same thief. A farmer can intend to have a good crop, but if he never plants the seed, how can he possibly produce a harvest? If you want to reap a harvest—you have to obey the laws! The seven laws of prosperity will bring results!

‘First of All Wall’ Installed as 2019 National Day of Prayer Approaches

First of All Wall Installed as 2019 National Day of Prayer Approaches

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.” –1 Timothy 2:1-3

In preparation for the 2019 National Day of Prayer, intercessors are consistently praying over political leaders visually represented on KCM’s First of All Wall .

The 2019 National Day of Prayer is quickly approaching, and Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM) and Eagle Mountain International Church (EMIC) are committed to being a house of prayer (Isaiah 56:7) with prayer everywhere! One of the ways we are facilitating this mission is by installing the “First of All Wall” in our Partner Service Center located on the KCM campus.

Based on the Bible directive in 1 Timothy 2:1-3 that commands us to pray first of all for our leaders, the recently installed First of All Wall features large, full-color pictures of federal and state-elected officials.

In preparation for the 2019 National Day of Prayer on May 2, our staff, prayer ministers and intercessors are diligently praying the following over the First of All Wall during devotions and various times throughout each day:

  • Wisdom for all those in authority: [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, by having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones). (Ephesians 1:17-18, AMPC)
  • Righteous leaders:When the [uncompromisingly] righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked man rules, the people groan and sigh. (Proverbs 29:2, AMPC)
  • America: She belongs to God. We declare that the scepter of the wicked will not remain over this land that was given to the righteous. (Psalm 125:3)
  • The Awakening: Besides this you know what [a critical] hour this is, how it is high time now for you to wake up out of your sleep (rouse to reality). For salvation (final deliverance) is nearer to us now than when we first believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Christ, the Messiah).  The night is far gone and the day is almost here. Let us then drop (fling away) the works and deeds of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light. (Romans 13:11-12, AMPC)

The “First of All Wall” initiative resulted from the word of the Lord through Brother Copeland for 2019. An excerpt from this prophecy says:

You will begin to see the desired change begin to slowly take place in the United States, in the political arena. You’ll begin to see change when you begin to pray and intercede for those that are on the opposite side of your political ideas. If you will begin to take some quality time and intercede for people, intercede for them. Take someone, take the image of that someone. Maybe it’s Senator Chuck Schumer. Maybe it’s Nancy Pelosi. Take that person. Take that person and begin to intercede for them. I saw something in Nancy Pelosi at the going home of President Bush. I was watching her. She stopped by that casket. Her husband began to walk away. She began to walk away, and she came back and then I saw it. She made the sign of the cross. Now, I know how to pray. Now, I know how to pray. Something drew her back. You know who she is? She’s somebody that needs Jesus. You know who Chuck Schumer is?  Somebody that needs Jesus. You know who Donald Trump is?  Somebody that needs Jesus. Amen.

Watch the 2019 word of the Lord as given through Kenneth Copeland on Dec. 31, 2018:

Because of its massive size, the First of All Wall grabs the attention of not only staff members but visitors as well. People visiting our Partner Service Center are automatically drawn to the enormous wall to pray for our leaders.

The First of All Wall will continue to be a regular point of contact for our pray-ers, as we move forward in praying for our country and the upcoming 2020 elections.

At KCM, we never underestimate the power of prayer, and we believe that corporate prayer released all over the country on the 2019 National Day of Prayer will bring an outpouring of God’s power in our land and on her people!

Pledge to Pray With Us May 2—the 2019 National Day of Prayer!

On May 2, we held our 2019 National Day of Prayer service and united in prayer for America across our campus!

Watch this video with Pastor Greg Stephens, as he takes us behind the scenes for our 2019 National Day of Prayer activities. We organized 30 prayer groups across our campus. Each group had a specific prayer assignment to address, including repentance, abortion, the spirit of division, relationships between America and Israel, ungodly legislation, an awakening to God in America and so much more!

Our nation seems to have so many dividing issues, you may be wondering how you can make a difference. Well, you can by shining the light of God’s love everywhere you go and by praying for our nation to awaken to the love of God. When we, as the Church, choose to pray and choose love over hate, unity over division and life over death, God promises that He will heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

There are two things our nation could use more of: prayer and love! Love is what sets us apart as Christians. We are not known by our creeds, songs, doctrine, knowledge, achievements or appearance…we are only known by our love!

That’s why the theme for the 2019 National Day of Prayer is Love One Another. The theme comes from the words of Jesus in John 13:34, “Love one another. Just as I have loved you” (AMPC). God is Love, and we know Love is what’s needed to change our nation!

Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM) and Eagle Mountain International Church (EMIC) are committed to being a “house of prayer” (Isaiah 56:7) and are honored to join people of all faiths and unite our Partners, Friends and church members on May 2 to pray for our nation to Love One Another. We will have an explosion of Corporate Prayer, as we pray for all aspects of our nation, our relationship with Israel, the seven centers of influence, as well as an Awakening to God in America and the outpouring on youth and children.

Will you pledge to unite in prayer with us on Thursday, May 2 at 11 a.m. CT? If so, let us know by marking “going” on our Facebook event, and share this event with your friends (online and offline).

Join us in person or via our livestream on FacebookTM, kcm.org or BVOVN® (Dish® Channel 265, Roku®, Apple TV® [4th Generation], Amazon Fire TV and YouTube®).

Help us spread the word! Download our Facebook frame as your new profile picture. Watch this quick video to find out how.

Let’s make this the most powerful National Day of Prayer in history!

“Confess and acknowledge how you have offended one another and then pray for one another to be instantly healed, for tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer! –James 5:16 (TPT).

How to Pray for America to Love One Another

1. PRAY FOR AMERICA TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

“Love one another. Just as I have loved you….” John 13:34 (CSV)

  • Jesus tells us to love one another just like He loves us. This includes every person in America as well as every person in the world.
  • Jesus wants us to love every person sacrificially, willfully and unconditionally because this is the way He loves us.
  • Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to empower us to do the things that only God can do through us. Therefore, call upon God to move in our nation miraculously, replacing hate with love, division with unity, and criticism of one another with love for one another.

2. PRAY FOR THE CHURCH IN AMERICA TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35 (CSV)

  • Jesus is telling His disciples, His Church, that the distinctive mark that sets us apart from everyone else is only one thing: love for one another.
  • Appeal to God to convict each of us as His Church to turn from the way we are treating one another and turn to loving one another. If we are an unloving and divided Church, we forfeit the right to call an unloving and divided nation to love and to unity.
  • Call upon God for the 300,000+ churches in America to love one another and to cooperate together when possible for the greater purpose of praying for America.

3. PRAY FOR FAMILIES, WORKPLACES, COMMUNITIES, AND CITIES IN AMERICA TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER

“Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7 (CSB)

  • When we belong to Jesus, we belong to love; therefore, call upon God for the families, workplaces, communities and cities in America to know that love is always God’s way.
  • Call families, workplaces, communities and cities to look to God, who is Love, so they can experience the transforming power of love.
  • Ask God for America’s families, workplaces, communities, and cities to begin to choose love and forgiveness, love and restitution, love and healing, love and unity, and a future together transformed by the power of unconditional love.
  • Ask God to raise up a Love One Another movement across America.

4. PRAY FOR ALL ETHNICITIES AND PEOPLE IN AMERICA TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER

“Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” 1 Corinthians 13:6-8 (CSB)

  • Since God’s love is built on God’s truth and we are made in the image of God, all humans are of one race; therefore, loving one another is not optional because love never ends.
  • Call upon God to bring us back to the cross of Jesus Christ, where His unconditional, powerful love has torn down all the walls that divide us and opened up a new pathway for us to love one another.
  • Ask God to give us the power to repent of anything in our past and choose a new future together where love will not just bind up our nation’s wounds, but this transforming love will lead to the day when justice will roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

5. PRAY WE WILL LOVE GOD AND EACH OTHER SO MUCH THAT WE WILL AGREE CLEARLY, UNITE VISIBLY AND PRAY EXTRAORDINARILY FOR THE NEXT GREAT SPIRITUAL AWAKENING IN AMERICA

“Besides this, since you know the time, it is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep, because now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11 (CSB)

  • Knowing we are living in a significant moment in history, now is the time for each follower of Christ to wake up in our spiritual lives, knowing our greatest need and hope in America is the next great spiritual awakening.
  • Ask God to convict the Church in America to wake up spiritually, agree clearly, unite visibly and pray extraordinarily for the next great spiritual awakening to occur in our generation.
  • Call upon the sovereign God of heaven to shape the future of America mightily through the next great spiritual awakening, just as He did in history through past Great spiritual Awakenings.

8 Keys to God’s System of Wealth

8 Keys to God's Wealth System

God has created a wealth-generating system that cannot fail! Are you operating in it? Find out with these 8 Keys to God’s System of Wealth.

Money answers everything. The first reaction to that statement by many Christians would be to claim that it is carnal, selfish and outside of biblical values. Yet, it is a direct quote of scripture from Ecclesiastes 10:19. Money is an essential thing in this life, so to desire money is not selfish—it’s necessary. Even if all you want to do is walk the streets evangelizing, which doesn’t take a lot of money, you still need provision for food, clothing and shelter. You still need money!

God wants you to have money for three fundamental reasons:

  1. To fund Kingdom work. To “go into all the world and preach the gospel” takes money!
  2. To provide well for your own household. That’s your job—not your family’s or the government’s. God has called you to work to provide for yourself.
  3. To subdue the earth. To have dominion on the earth, we should be controlling most of the resources. For example, if you don’t like the immorality posted on the billboard outside your office, here is the answer: Own the billboard. If the magazines in the store are offensive: Own the magazines. That’s how you subdue the earth.

Some denominations that claim we should not discuss money are often those whose members also work 80 hours each week to earn every dollar they can. On the other hand, many people in the faith camp are waiting for Publisher’s Clearinghouse to show up on their doorstep rather than focusing on the spiritual role work plays in the manifestation of God’s blessings.

According to Buddy Pilgrim, strategic advisor to Kenneth Copeland Ministries, founder of Integrity Leadership, and former president of poultry giant Pilgrim’s Pride, we need to align our thinking about wealth with God’s so we operate within His system. If you’re ready for a change in your financial situation, here are eight keys to God’s system of wealth you can learn from today.

1. God Is Your Sole Source

“And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” –Philippians 4:19 (NKJV)

The idea is simple, yet it takes a lot of spiritual work to get to the place where you let God be your sole Source of supply. The Bible says, “If someone won’t work, he shouldn’t eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10, CJB), and God is the Creator of work. However, He never intended for us to put our faith and hope in our labor alone. He also did not intend for you to turn anything else into your source—not your family, not your credit cards and not the government. He is your Source of supply. What does He supply?

  1. Everything you need to thrive
  2. Power to produce wealth
  3. Abilities of any kind
  4. THE BLESSING that produces wealth

Think about it. The Bible does not say God makes you wealthy; it says He will give you the power to produce wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). That means, He will always give you something to put your hands to, anoint your ability, and bring THE BLESSING on the scene when you are obedient to His commands.

Buddy Pilgrim says the key to allowing God to be your Source is to first know your calling, then to stay focused on your calling, and finally to execute your calling with a faithful heart.

2. Business Is the Only System That Creates Wealth

“Engage in business until I come.” –Luke 19:13 (ESV)

Christians tend to want the wealth transfer, spoken of in Proverbs 13:22, to be an event. But God’s system is an ongoing system—a continual flow of wealth into the hands of the righteous. Business is that system. That doesn’t mean that every person is called to own a business—but each of us will engage in business in one form or another, whether it be at our jobs, in our purchases or with our investments.

Business is the exchange of goods or services for profit or economic gain. When you are employed, you are selling your services. That makes you part of the system. However, don’t discount the idea that you may be called to own or manage a business in some way. As Christians, we are called to take dominion—and business is a powerful place of influence in this world that should be dominated by the righteous.

Another way we participate in God’s system of business is by acting as patrons. When you give your money to a business, you are transferring wealth from the Kingdom of light to whatever that business stands for. And if you own a business, you are bringing money from the sinner into the realm of righteousness.

Then, there is an interaction with a business that each of us has almost every day. The way in which we treat another man’s business (his system of wealth creation) will determine the success you see in your own wealth. Luke 16:12 says, “If you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?” (NKJV).

For example, when you go to a fast-food restaurant, if you take a handful of sauce and then dump most of it in the trash, you are mistreating someone else’s system for creating wealth. When you rent a hotel room or a car, the way you treat what belongs to someone else and their ability to create wealth will impact your ability to receive God’s supernatural intervention in your own efforts to generate wealth.

The more we become faithful in these sorts of things, the more we will prove ourselves worthy of THE BLESSING of the Lord on the work of our hands.

3. All Business Requires Work

“All hard work brings a profit.” –Proverbs 14:23 (NIV)

Work is not a curse, and it isn’t toil. Yet, so often, we hear people complain about their jobs or how much they dread Mondays. That’s because they haven’t had a revelation that their work is more than a paycheck. Work was God’s idea, which means it’s a good idea!

God says He will bless the work of your hands. That means you can expect much more than a natural return on your work. Proverbs 14:23 says, “In all labor there is profit” (NKJV), and you know that He speaks of much more than a natural increase. He says whatever you put your hands to will prosper and succeed, and when your heart is right and you are in obedience, His blessing on your work will send you farther and faster than you could ever go on your own. You’ll find yourself promoted when you weren’t expecting it, given a raise when you might not deserve it, and afforded opportunities most people only dream of.

Find A Prayer for Work That Prospers here.

4. Business Is Our Promised Land and Proving Ground

“God tested Abraham….” –Genesis 22:1 (NKJV)

Abraham was a wealthy man, but it was only through a time of proving and the resulting BLESSING of the Lord that brought him into the Promised Land of prosperity.

Business is to us today what the land was to Abraham—it is our promised land and proving ground. Abraham first proved himself faithful; so also, must we prove faithful in work and business if we want the output (wealth) of work and business. We do this by being:

  1. Faithful in the little things. Be faithful in how you handle your money, how you treat other businesses, how you live.
  2. Faithful in where we are now. If you work for a school, focus your efforts on the success of that school. If you work at a restaurant, be dedicated to excellence and being a positive face of that establishment. For in its success, you will find yours.
  3. Faithful even when working for unjust bosses. Determine to have faithful stewardship on the job, even when you work for someone who isn’t so nice, like Laban. Ten times he changed Jacob’s wages. Even so, Jacob went forward and was a faithful steward of Laban’s farm. Then, when he tried to leave, Laban said, “I’ll pay you whatever you want.” You see, when you do good work, you can name your worth.
  4. Faithful with another person’s business. When you visit another business as a patron, you are visiting someone else’s wealth-creating system. The way you treat that system will determine your own reward.

When you are faithful in your work, you will enjoy the Bible definition of blessed, which, according to Psalm 1, says that a blessed man is like a tree planted by streams of water, whose leaf does not wither. Everything he does prospers. That’s God’s system—for His people to be planted by a continual flow of everything they need.

Buddy Pilgrim says, “Other than the Lord, I credit my wife for praying Psalm 1 over me every day with the great prosperity I’ve enjoyed.”

Watch Pastor George Pearsons teach more about the laws that govern wealth and prosperity.

5. Wealth Transfers Are Always Work-Related

“A sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.” –Proverbs 13:22 (NIV)

Some Christians are waiting around for a miracle event—for money to simply fall into their laps out of nowhere. But God-ordained wealth transfers are always work-related. Remember the widow in 2 Kings 4:1-7? She was backed in a financial corner with no way out. Her husband had died, leaving her alone with her two sons. She didn’t have money and creditors were banging at her door, threatening to seize her two children and take them as slaves. Her husband had “revered the Lord,” yet this debt was NOT miraculously canceled. Instead, the prophet Elisha provided her something she could put her hands to that would open the door for a supernatural wealth transfer—gathering and filling bottles with oil.

When you have a financial need in your life—don’t expect money to show up on your doorstep. The ability for God to bless you is connected to what you do—your work, whether it be employment or any other work. Expect to put your hands to something. Speak out loud, “Thank You, God, that You will provide me opportunities to put my hands to work so that You may prosper me.”

Learn 5 Ways to Overcome Financial Pressure here.

6. Christians Must Reclaim Their Territory

“The Lord will make you the head and not the tail.” –Deuteronomy 28:13 (NKJV)

Christians seem to have become complacent in the area of taking possession, but the Bible is clear—we are to take territory and have dominion on the earth! That’s why it’s high time we, as believers, start expecting to claim more and more territory. It’s time to repossess the land!

You might be thinking, Well, I’m a schoolteacher. I can’t take any ground beyond my classroom. Whatever your profession, don’t limit yourself! God never stays in the realm of the possible. Begin to pray that God will help you take possession of your land, then watch and see how He moves in miraculous ways in your life. No matter what your profession, there is territory to claim, but it begins with a spirit of expectation and a desire to obey God’s command to subdue the earth.

Watch Gloria Copeland and Billye Brim teach you why you’re called to rule and reign on the earth.

7. Wealth Transfers Are Everyday Events

“Their leaves never wither.” –Psalm 1:3

Maybe you’ve always thought of wealth transfers as one-time, miraculous events, but in God’s system, wealth transfers are everyday events. Every time money changes hands, there is a transfer of wealth. So, the more Christians position themselves to own and manage businesses, the more money we will see transferred into the Kingdom. Even when you buy stock, you’re getting involved in a business, and you should expect a wealth transfer to come to you! When you invest, declare it! Say, “I claim supernatural wealth transfers for every investment I’m a part of, and I ask You, Lord, to honor and prosper the work of my hands.”

If you’re sitting around waiting for a miracle event—you’re missing it! As Jerry Savelle says, “I would rather walk continuously in supernatural health than ever need miraculous healing.” The same is true of finances. If we walk continuously ina supernatural financial blessing, we will never need a financial miracle. That’s THE BLESSING!

8. Possession of the Land Is Not Optional

“Fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion….” –Genesis 1:28 (NKJV)

This is the first command in the Bible. Take dominion. Possession of the land is not optional, it is not selfish, and it is not a luxury—it’s a command. It’s time that we, as Christians, take our job assignment seriously and become a positive influence on the world, rather than being under the control of those who seek to do evil.

When you put these eight principles to work in your life and begin to see yourself operating in God’s system of wealth, you will move into levels of prosperity you never dreamed possible. It’s time to take possession of the land. Now get after it!

Do I Need to Work If I’m Living in Faith?

3 Ways Hormones Keep You in Divine Health

Are you settling for getting old and tired? You don’t have to! God is calling His people into divine health, healing and wholeness. You can be part of the thriving, disease-resistant Church by learning more about three ways hormones keep you in divine health.

Turn on any television commercial, open any magazine, or listen to any water cooler conversation, and you’ll likely hear the same thing about health—diet and exercise are good, but ultimately, we all end up frail, feeble and on a host of prescription drugs. In addition, statistics show that the rate of obesity, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease is expected to climb in the coming years. This information is not encouraging!

That’s why Kenneth Copeland sat down with board-certified family and anti-aging practitioner, Dr. Don Colbert, M.D., to discuss the groundbreaking research in Dr. Colbert’s newest book, Dr. Colbert’s Hormone Health Zone. On the Believer’s Voice of Victory broadcast, Kenneth said, “Don Colbert is an apostle of healing” and we, as the Body of Christ, are blessed to tap into his anointing and walk in divine health. As we stand in faith for divine health and healing, it’s critical that we take the information from those God has anointed and put it to work in our lives.

Find out how you can be part of the disease-resistant Church with Kenneth Copeland and Dr. Don Colbert.

Dr. Colbert believes the root cause of most diseases and degeneration is suboptimal hormone levels. For years, hormone imbalances have gone undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. The key, he says, lies not in balancing hormones but optimizing hormones to increase your energy and strength, improve your mood and memory, and help you feel younger, healthier and happier!

What does it mean to optimize hormones?

Many Christians are struggling with loss of energy, poor sleep quality, decline in muscle mass and bone density, sexual dysfunction, foggy brain, poor memory, and cold hands and feet, to name a few. But when they go to the doctor for testing, they are told they are “within range.” The problem? The way the medical community has determined healthy ranges is based on statistical information from the general public, rather than what is required for optimal health and vitality.

Does it really make a difference?

Consider these examples from Dr. Colbert’s practice as the result of optimizing hormones, rather than keeping them within the determined range.

  • Women who were unable to become pregnant went on to have several healthy children
  • Men who no longer suffer from erectile dysfunction
  • Women who were able to stop antidepressant medications completely
  • Aging men who were able to rebuild muscle and stop muscle loss
  • Women who escaped symptoms of PMS
  • The reversal of memory-related diseases
  • Reversal of high blood pressure, insomnia, high cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes,    fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and chronic pain.

What kind of hormones should be used?

Dr. Colbert encourages believers to go to a doctor who is willing to optimize hormone levels and do so through bioidentical hormones, not synthetic hormones. (A listing of doctors throughout the country who subscribe to this approach is included in Dr. Colbert’s book Dr. Colbert’s Hormone Health Zone.) He says, “Bioidentical hormones are one of the most important factors in restoring your health and preventing disease. They program your body for strength, vitality and energy. Your youth is renewed like the eagle’s when you optimize your hormones.”

Bioidentical hormones have the same molecular structure as the hormones secreted by your own body; and therefore, they are easily recognized and utilized for the regulation of various bodily functions. The introduction of these exogenous hormones can return levels to a more optimal and youthful range and do not pose the risk present with synthetic hormones.

“God wants us to live abundantly,” Dr. Colbert says. “And so many people are settling for just getting old, getting tired and then just eventually dying. And we can live that life and live it more abundantly. When you get your hormones to the level of a 20-year-old, guess what? You start to feel like a 20-year-old.”

God is calling His people into divine health, healing and wholeness. You can be part of the thriving, disease-resistant Church by learning more about these three ways hormones keep you in divine health.

 1. Optimized Hormones Increase Strength

Frail, feeble and bent over—That’s what the world says you can expect as you age. That’s not God’s will for you! Dr. Colbert says, “God wants a strong Church—not a feeble one.” He shares how, over time, both men and women begin to lose muscle mass and bone density, causing a decrease in overall strength. Left untreated, it can lead to the inability to get out of a bathtub or even off a toilet, walking hunched over, and increased incidents of debilitating injuries.

The culprit? Declining levels of testosterone. According to Dr. Colbert, men today have about 20 percent less testosterone than men did just 20 years ago. In response, the medical community has now altered the “healthy range” of testosterone to fit the new norms of society. The problem is that those levels are far from optimal. The healthy, optimal, “feel good” level of testosterone for men should be in the range of 750-1000.

Why is testosterone important for men?

Not only does it prevent feebleness, but it can reduce the risk of prostate cancer, reverse sexual dysfunction, and prevent heart disease and dementia. In fact, Dr. Colbert believes low testosterone is likely one of the causes of Alzheimer’s disease. He has even predicted, “There will be a boom in nursing homes if we don’t start getting hormone levels under control.”

Other symptoms that can be resolved by optimizing testosterone include fatigue, high cholesterol, brain fog, depression, insomnia and adrenal fatigue. To be strong and healthy, we need optimized hormones!

What is the cause of decreasing testosterone levels?

Dr. Colbert says we are exposed to chemicals that are endocrine disruptors, which lowers testosterone in men and feminizes them. Examples of these chemicals include BPA (lining in canned goods), the ink on receipts, tap water and certain weed killers. These disruptors are decreasing testosterone and have even caused many men’s sperm counts to decrease by 50 percent.

Is testosterone important for women?

But testosterone isn’t just important for men—women need optimized testosterone levels, too! In fact, Dr. Colbert believes this often-neglected area of women’s health could be the cause of many frustrating symptoms. And optimal testosterone level for women is 60 to 70 or sometimes higher, while the “in range” levels are as low as 2 to 45, which often leaves women feeling terrible. With optimized testosterone, women can reverse cellulite, lose weight, tighten skin, wash away irritability, boost energy, restore libido and much more.

Why aren’t physicians treating hormone deficiencies?

The devil is the author of confusion. To prevent men and women from receiving life-giving treatment, he has instilled a fear in people and the medical community about hormone treatments. To prevent feebleness and frailty, we need optimal hormone levels. But synthetic hormones can cause disease and negative side effects. Bioidentical hormones are the safe and effective way to optimize hormone levels.

Optimized hormone levels will increase your strength and quality of life! Find a doctor who will work with you to find the optimal levels of testosterone, estrogen, progesterone and thyroid. Be sure they use bioidentical hormones, not synthetic. It will change your life!

2. Optimized Hormones Prevent Disease

We’ve already discussed many areas where hormones can reverse or prevent symptoms and diseases like Alzheimer’s. But the list is much more exhaustive. Optimizing hormones has been found to significantly reduce the risk of most cancers, drop cholesterol levels, reduce the risk of heart disease, and can reduce arthritis and chronic pain, and much more. Dr. Colbert says, “When you optimize your hormones, most diseases start to leave.”

Recent studies show that women on testosterone have half the risk of developing breast cancer. Dr. Colbert also notes that women who use testosterone rarely need medicine for osteoporosis. Optimizing testosterone, progesterone, thyroid and estrogen in women is key to living in divine health. You don’t have to settle for less!

At this point, you might be thinking to yourself, Aren’t hormones dangerous?

So much fear has been instilled in people in recent years about hormone therapy. When the Women’s Health Initiative of 2002 was released, indicating that estrogen was causing breast cancer in women, the following 10 years saw a dramatic decrease in hormone therapy for women. Sadly, it also saw one of the sharpest increases in women’s deaths we’ve ever seen because doctors stopped prescribing hormones altogether. Dr. Colbert wants to make one thing very clear—those studies were based solely on the use of synthetic hormones—not bioidentical hormones. The medical community proverbially threw out the baby with the bathwater, and women have suffered and even died unnecessarily ever since.

Medical knowledge is so great that it is expanding every 78 days. If you don’t have a doctor who is up on the latest research, you aren’t going to receive the best treatment. Dr. Colbert compares it to speaking with someone who is an expert on flip phones versus someone who is an expert on the latest smartphone. Both work, but one is much more advanced.

“When I start optimizing hormones—using bioidentical, not synthetic—to bring them up to the level of a 20-year old, it is amazing how disease starts to go,” he says. Don’t let fear instilled by society rob you of living in divine health. Seek the Lord and pursue optimal hormone levels.

Kenneth Copeland emphasizes this: “Don’t try to do this without the Bible or without Dr. Colbert’s Hormone Health Zone book.”

3. Optimized Hormones Restore Energy

While gaining strength and preventing disease are certainly exciting aspects of optimizing hormones, one thing that most people have resolved to be without is energy. Dr. Colbert says, “As people age, the biggest thing I see is a decrease in energy, and the main thing hormone optimization does for both men and women is to increase energy levels.” That’s exciting news!

The two key hormones that boost your energy? Natural desiccated thyroid and natural testosterone.

He says when a patient comes into his office with cold hands, cold feet and a temperature below 98, he knows their thyroid is suboptimal. Most of his patients say, “I’ve never been told that before. I’ve always been told I am in normal range.” These symptoms can be present even when you are not medically defined as having low thyroid. You might be in range, but you still feel terrible. When you have low energy, cold hands, cold feet, difficulty losing weight and foggy brain, you most likely have suboptimal thyroid levels. But, 90 percent of patients are taking the wrong type of thyroid. (For more, see Dr. Colbert’s Hormone Health Zone book.) While more common in women, men should still have their thyroid levels checked to be sure they are in optimal range.

The other energy-boosting hormone is testosterone. Dr. Colbert says, “It is the most amazing natural antidepressant I have ever seen.” He has had patients, both men and women, who were able to come off antidepressants once their hormone levels were optimized. He says, “So many people have suboptimal thyroid and suboptimal testosterone—even at young ages. We now know that when we optimize testosterone, it turns adrenal glands on, which gives us energy.”

According to Dr. Colbert, once you reach age 45, hormone levels start to go down. Testosterone begins to decline in both men and women, causing a loss of energy, vitality, muscle and bone mass. It is even responsible for what Dr. Colbert calls “Grumpy Old Man” syndrome. Optimized levels will return energy to men and women, and get rid of depression.

He has even seen marriages saved simply from optimizing hormone levels. When couples are tired, depressed and facing a host of symptoms, it can cause marital problems. But when they get their energy back, their zest for life, they often find that their marriage is back where it once was, too.

Other hormones that should be checked and optimized include cortisol and those in the adrenal glands. Stress can deplete these important players in our overall health and must be restored. Bioidentical progesterone can help women sleep, stop PMS and help overall mood. Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is also important to check as we age. And, as for estrogen, Dr. Colbert stresses that this is important as well, but must be addressed with caution. (Dr. Colbert covers each of these extensively in his book.)

For more tips from Dr. Colbert, see 5 Ways to Live in Divine Health here.

When you take the time to understand how hormones keep you in divine health, you open the door to living a life most people only dream about. Above all, Dr. Colbert stresses the importance of casting your cares at the feet of Jesus and staying out of stress. He reminds us that “a merry heart does good like a medicine” (Proverbs 17:22, MEV) and emphasizes the importance of speaking the Word of God over your life and health each day. He advises, “Keep expecting something good to happen to you in your life. Don’t let past disappointments keep you from living in the hope of tomorrow. Circumstances are real, but the Word of God is more real.”

5 Ways to Live in Divine Health

Are you low on energy, having trouble losing weight, or feeling the effects of aging? You don’t have to be! Find out how you can change your life.

Divine health is God’s will for you. He created you—spirit, soul and body—and His desire, and expectation, is for you to live long and strong on the earth. Too many Christians have accepted the world’s way of seeing health and aging, and they embrace a decline in strength and energy as time goes on. Even worse, they’ve begun to expect disease, while taking the medical community at their word with regard to prevention and treatment.

The problem, according to Dr. Don Colbert, , is that most doctors are controlled by big pharmaceutical companies that dictate how to treat patients—almost always with prescription drugs that do more harm than good. Medical information almost doubles every 78 days. That means most doctors are not up to speed on cutting-edge medical research and treatments, leaving most patients suffering from the same symptoms year after year.

That’s why Kenneth Copeland sat down with Dr. Colbert and his wife, Mary, in a series of broadcasts to bring new revelation to the Body of Christ so we can live happy, healthy and long on this earth. If you’re ready to increase your energy, prevent or reverse disease, and change your life, here are five ways to live in divine health.

1. Intermittent Fasting

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh.” –Galatians 5:24 (NIV)

Dr. Colbert’s mission is to see people made whole. That doesn’t just mean healing—it means living your best life possible! Based on recent, Spirit-led research, Dr. Colbert released a groundbreaking new book: Dr. Colbert’s Hormone Health Zone. According to his wife, Mary, this is the most important book he’s ever written. He himself said he has not seen such dramatic results in his practice with any other prior approach

One of the newest and proven strategies he has implemented with all his patients is intermittent fasting. Fasting is a tool that has been used for spiritual purposes for thousands of years. However, fasting is not just for spiritual health—it can promote health and regeneration in the physical body as well.

What is intermittent fasting?

Rather than a once-in-a-while event, intermittent fasting is the daily practice of narrowing your feeding period to eight hours each day. For example, with intermittent fasting, you would finish your final meal of the day at 6 p.m. and then fast for 16 hours before breaking your fast at 10 a.m. the next day. During the fasting period, you may continue to drink fluids such as water, herbal tea and black coffee.

A 16:8 intermittent fasting plan (fasting 16 hours and eating during an eight-hour window) will bring you optimum results, but if you find this too difficult, you may start with 14 or even 12 fasting hours instead of 16. Then, try to work up to the 16-hour fasting period for as many days per week as possible. Dr. Colbert says his healthiest patients are those who fast 16 hours each day, seven days per week.

What are the benefits of intermittent fasting?

Some amazing things happen to your body when you allow it the opportunity to take a break from digesting. Because you are going a longer period without offering your body food, your body moves into a process called autophagy, which is when the body begins to eat up abnormal proteins in your brain (associated with dementia) and in your muscles. Liver glycogen is then depleted, resulting in the lowering of blood sugar. Fasting also promotes stem cell production. In short, it gets rid of the bad and regenerates the good.

The results in Dr. Colbert’s practice have been astounding. Some of the amazing results include:

  • Reversal of plaque in the arteries
  • Lowered blood pressure
  • Weight loss
  • Improved memory
  • Increased strength and energy.

Because of the dramatic results he has seen, Dr. Colbert now teaches all his patients about intermittent fasting. His most recent research revealed intermittent fasting to be one of the most powerful processes for preventing almost every disease.

“It’s so simple, anyone can do it. Every Christian should be intermittent fasting,” Dr. Colbert advised. The Bible teaches us to pray, tithe and fast. God has spiritual intentions for each of these, but they produce physical results, as well.

For guidance on spiritual fasting, see the 3 Rewards of Fasting here.

Now, you might be thinking, What happened to breakfast being the most important meal of the day? Dr. Colbert reminds us to keep in mind that medical knowledge is constantly growing and evolving, and new research has proven time and again what the Bible has told us for thousands of years—there’s power in fasting.

This is a simple, free strategy to keep you living in divine health. It will give you energy, help you sleep, and clear your mind, making you part of a strong, healthy Church!

2. Choose Right Foods

“Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” –1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)

Intermittent fasting may seem like a challenge, but most Christians struggle even more with choosing right foods. Dr. Colbert recommends following a Keto Zone Diet, but overall, he emphasizes choosing life-giving foods for the body. To Dr. Colbert, this means a primarily plant-based diet: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, seeds and nuts. In addition, he advises avoiding gluten, processed meats like bacon and sausage, and—his No. 1 concern—sugar. He emphasizes that sugar invites disease into the body and is an enemy to living in divine health.

This is where most Christians struggle to crucify their flesh. Sugar, desserts and white breads all contribute to many of the diseases and health problems we see today. For example, the No. 1 cause of death in the United States is heart disease, which comes from inflammation. What feeds inflammation? Sugar, bad fats, transfats, carbs and starches. Choosing healthy foods, on the other hand, will significantly reduce inflammation.

Watch Kenneth Copeland and Dr. Don Colbert discuss how to choose right foods.

Another disease caused by wrong food choices is Type 2 diabetes. Using dietary changes as well as other strategies, Dr. Colbert regularly reverses diabetes in his patients. He begins by putting his diabetic patients on a Keto Zone Diet, combined with exercise and optimized hormones, and has seen a great success rate in the reversal of this disease.

You might be thinking, I don’t want to give up the foods I like—the chocolate cake, the sodas, the desserts. But remember this: Your body is not your own. It was bought with a price! Dr. Colbert encourages a significant reduction in sugar, but he has always maintained that an occasional dessert is acceptable.

What does it take to make right food choices? Kenneth Copeland, who was once 100 pounds overweight and addicted to sugar, says, “Nothing happens without a decision, and a quality decision is one that you can’t turn back from.”

You can live in divine health by simply choosing to eat healthy foods. It will change your health and change your life!

3. Get Moving and Get Strong

“There was not one feeble person among their tribes.” –Psalm 105:37 (KJV)

Kenneth Copeland has shared his testimony about his journey to divine health and making right food choices. But the missing piece of his puzzle for years was exercise. He didn’t like it! But when he finally put this strategy into practice, he was amazed at the difference it made in his life. In fact, he has become so strong, he now challenges Dr. Colbert to do as many pushups and hold a plank for as long as he does!

Dr. Colbert reminds the Body of Christ that the human body is made for movement. Just like water turns stagnant when it isn’t moved, the body (which is 70 percent water) will also become stagnant and subject to disease when it isn’t moved.

God wants His Church strong in the last days and living life to the fullest! Unfortunately, so many people at about age 65 start to get weak and feeble. That’s not God’s will for you! Who wants to be frail and feeble in the end times? No one! Yet, some people have lost so much strength and muscle mass that they are unable to get themselves out of a bathtub or even off the toilet. That frailty does not belong on the body of a believer.

Along with good food choices and optimizing hormones (our next strategy), Dr. Colbert recommends strength exercises. The primary move he recommends to his patients is the plank hold. To do this, position your body face down and elevated on your elbows and toes in a perfectly flat position. Don’t let your head fall down—keep a straight line! Then hold this position for one minute. Do this at least five days per week. (Kenneth Copeland, at age 84, holds a plank for three minutes each day!)

Plank holds reset your posture, strengthen your core, and increase muscle mass. This simple daily exercise is free and easy, and it will prevent feebleness, increase strength and keep you from being bent over. People of all ages—including those in their 60s, 70s and 80s—can increase strength and improve their lives—moving into divine health!

Dr. Colbert Tip: You can start out holding a plank position on your knees for 30 seconds, then work up to the full minute on your toes.

No matter what you do—get moving and get strong! If you don’t like exercise, begin to speak the Word, declare that you like exercise, and declare that you are getting stronger and stronger. Once you feel what it’s like to be strong, you won’t want to go back!

4. Optimize Your Hormones

“I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you.” –3 John 2 (NIV)

While so much focus is on eating right and exercising, one of the most important factors in determining our health, according to Dr. Colbert, is balancing or optimizing hormone levels in our bodies. His recent research has caused him to determine that it is the most important aspect of overall health and enjoyment of life. In his book Dr. Colbert’s Hormone Health Zone, he shares his latest research, as well as real-life stories about his patients. He found that optimizing hormone levels reverses disease, increases energy and changes people’s lives dramatically. “When you optimize your hormones, most diseases start to leave,” he says.

Many Christians are struggling with physical problems but have not found answers through traditional medicine. These include: loss of energy, poor sleep quality, decline in muscle mass and bone density, sexual dysfunction, foggy brain, poor memory, cold hands and feet. The list goes on and on.

Most people take their symptoms to their doctor, have testing done, and are told they are “within range.” The problem with the way the medical community has determined healthy ranges is that the ranges are based on the statistical information of the general public. They are what is generally accepted, rather than what is required for optimal health and vitality.

Dr. Colbert encourages believers to go to a doctor who is willing to optimize hormone levels and do so through bioidentical hormones, not synthetic hormones. (A listing of doctors throughout the country who subscribe to this approach is included in Dr. Colbert’s book.) He says, “Bioidentical hormones are one of the most important factors in restoring your health and preventing disease. They program your body for strength, vitality and energy. Your youth is renewed like the eagle’s when you optimize your hormones.”

5. Speak the Word of God

“He shall have whatsoever he saith.” –Mark 11:23 (KJV)

Above all, Dr. Colbert emphasizes the fact that none of the first four means of living in divine health will be as effective without the Word of God coming out of our mouths. When we speak the Word of God, we are enforcing our covenant right to divine health, healing and longevity. Faith mixed with works (the first four steps) will bring results! Simply put, don’t spend time investing in eating right, exercising and optimizing your hormones, then speak sickness and death over yourself.

Find Daily Confessions for Living in Divine Health here.

The Israelites kept speaking they were going to die in the wilderness.  That’s where the limitation of living to age 70 or 80 came from, but God put the marker at 120. Instead of speaking words of death, “let the weak say, I am strong” (Joel 3:10, KJV). This is a vital part of living in divine health.

“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better” (1 Timothy 4:8). Take action, then line your speech up with God’s Word.

5 Ways to Overcome Financial Pressure

5 Ways to Overcome Financial Pressure

Facing extreme financial pressure? There is a way out. Learn how you can take victory with these five ways to overcome financial pressure.

There aren’t many things that can cause more stress and anxiety than financial pressure. It can be an all-consuming worry during the day and keep you up all night. The longer it persists, the more it can negatively affect your relationships and even your health. Many of us have been there.

Whatever your situation today—whether it’s mounting debt, the loss of a job or unexpected expenses—God wants to deliver you and restore the years that the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). His will is always for you to live an abundant life—which includes your finances. He doesn’t want you to struggle or worry—He wants you to have all your needs met, be equipped to help others, and live in His perfect peace.

In order for His blessings to manifest in your life, you have to do your part by being obedient to His Word. You may be feeling tired from the struggle, but don’t “grow weary while doing good, for in due season [you] shall reap if [you] do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9, NKJV).

Here are five ways to overcome financial pressure and get back to a place of victory where you belong:

1. Take Back Your Power

“I have given you authority…over all the power of the enemy.” –Luke 10:19 (ESV)

When you can’t pay your bills, creditors are calling; or you’re facing the loss of a job, car, or home; one thing is sure: You feel powerless. When you begin to feel weak and powerless, the devil comes right in to convince you that there is nothing you can do, and all hope is lost. When you’re distracted with the immense pressure that comes from an extreme financial challenge, it’s easy to forget who you are and the power and authority that’s been given to you. All you can think about is, How am I going to get out of this?

If you’re in this situation today, you’ve likely been the recipient of some not-so-great “advice” or “encouragement” that seems more insensitive than helpful. You may read your Bible every day, pray on your knees, and cry out to God—but still, you feel the same. If that’s where you are, it’s time to make a change—it’s time to take back your power.

It all begins with refusing the wrong mindset and building the right mindset. If you’ve been in a severe drought in your finances for a long stretch of time, you may have fallen into the temptation to take on a victim mentality. This includes thoughts like, Why is this happening to me? I’ve always obeyed God, and now here I am. Why are my finances always a mess? I’m not living in financial abundance like everyone says I should be living.

When you take on a spiritual posture of self-pity, you’re actually standing in a defeated position—a weak stance that beckons the enemy to get involved and “help” you continue down the wrong path. He’ll even use your wrong thinking to push you even further—maybe far enough to blame God for not rescuing you or letting the situation happen in the first place. If you’re already in this place, it’s time to see the red flags flying in the air. Get out of this mindset and do it quickly. It’s a ticking time bomb that will not get you where you want to go.

Instead, resist the devil—resist self-pity and the blame game—and take back your position of power. A person in power doesn’t complain—he takes action.

Certainly, this will take every ounce of strength you have, but you can do it! God gives you strength when you feel weak (2 Corinthians 12:10), He will arm you with strength for the battle (Psalm 18:39), and He says He always causes you to triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14)—always! You can put the enemy under your feet. It will take time and a willing heart, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel empowered right away. The key is to begin taking steps toward recapturing the power that belongs to you in Christ Jesus. That’s a power that cannot be defeated.

Begin taking back your power with these Daily Confessions for Financial Victory.

Then, one day, you’ll wake up and realize that no matter what your situation looks like, you have the power to overcome it—the power to conquer.

2. Chip Away at Debt

“Throw off everything that hinders.” –Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)

When you’re facing a shortage of money, it seems impossible to even consider reducing debt. However, here’s the deal—obedience is key to deliverance. God has commanded us to “keep out of debt and owe no man anything” (Romans 13:8, AMPC). If you’re in debt—don’t get into condemnation—get out of it! The key is to make a decision that debt will no longer be a way of life for you. It won’t be your source, it won’t be your safety net, and it won’t be the shackle that holds you back from financial freedom.

Don’t let the world tell you how to live. Instead, listen to the Word of God and to trusted teachers like Bill Winston, Gary Keesee and Dave Ramsey, who will teach you how to manage your money biblically. Begin by listing every debt that you owe on a spreadsheet like the Debt Reduction Snowball Calculator. This spreadsheet will allow you to list your debts in order from smallest to largest. Then, begin chipping away at the debt.

If you’re in a situation where you’re barely able to make ends meet, step out in faith and obedience by paying off even just a few dollars at a time. God will meet your obedience with the supernatural every time. He wants to help you with your finances. He’s on your side!

Then, speak to the mountain of debt in your life according to Mark 11:23. Each time you receive a billing statement, hold it up and say, “Thank You, Jesus, that this mountain is paid off!” You’ll be surprised how much peace it will bring you to take even the smallest step toward debt freedom.

3. Keep Tithing and Giving

“Give, and you will receive…. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” –Luke 6:38

This is where most Christians miss it. Things get tight, sources dry up, and they tighten their grip on what little they do have. It’s counterintuitive to give money away when you’re wondering how you’re going to pay your mortgage, but it’s critical to overcoming financial pressure.

Tithing isn’t based on your income or your financial situation—it is a system of honoring God and receiving a return. It isn’t discriminatory—everyone is able to tap into THE BLESSING through tithing and giving. Don’t let fear of not having enough rob you of your right to a supernatural return. Make tithing the first thing you do with every dollar that comes into your household, (do it in faith!) even if it means not having enough left over in the natural. In doing so, God says He will open the windows of heaven over your life (Malachi 3:10).

4. Shift Your Focus

“Look to the Lord and his strength.” –1 Chronicles 16:11 (NIV)

What’s the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning? If you’re facing extreme financial pressure, your thoughts likely jump to your troubles. In fact, if you really think about it, it’s most likely what consumes your thoughts all day long. It’s a pressure that needs to go away, a nagging that won’t quit, and a problem that seems to have no answer. But there is an answer.

Most often, breakthrough comes when we do the things that aren’t our natural response. God calls us to a higher level than what our carnal minds come up with on their own. He calls us to live from faith to faith and glory to glory. That takes some effort! It begins with shifting your focus from the problem over to Him.

Do you want out of these chains? Praise Him. Worship Him. Stop thinking and praying about your situation for a time, and shift your focus to the goodness of God. Thank Him for who He is, what He’s done in your life, and what He will do (That’s faith!). He is worthy of all our praise.

Maybe you’ve forgotten what you’re thankful for. Your focus has been on what you don’t have for so long because it seems to require so much thought and attention. It might take time to restore a grateful heart, but keep at it until it is genuine and heartfelt.

Shift your focus onto obeying Him. Even in the midst of your trouble (especially in the midst of your trouble), He is calling you to make some changes in your life and rise up and become even stronger spiritually.

Ask yourself the tough questions. Are you walking in love? You might think, What does love have to do with making my car payment? The answer is: Everything. Love is a powerful force—it has the power to change any and every situation in a heartbeat. When you’re walking in love—wholly and completely—nothing can stop the power of God from moving in your life. On the other hand, if you’re in bitterness, unforgiveness or pride, you’re going nowhere fast. God is Love—and without love, you’re far away from Him.

Spend time seeking the Lord, who is Love, about how you can grow in love. Love never fails. If you ever needed to not fail—it’s now—in your trial.

5. Release Your Grip

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” –1 Peter 5:7

Financial pressure is a right-up-in-your-face situation, isn’t it? It isn’t something that comes and goes—it’s there all the time. While you’re busy putting out one fire, another seems to ignite, then another. When you’re faced with having to go without the things you need, or you’re backed into a corner with the threat of losing your home or car, it’s natural to want to leap into action to fix it. But most often, that action is worry.

Maybe you feel irresponsible if you aren’t up at night worrying about your situation or searching the internet for any possible ideas or help. When you take the natural approach, you might think of a way to avoid one disaster, but then another appears on its heels. As you do this, you find yourself getting more tired, frustrated, and discouraged than ever before. The reason is simple: When you try to fix something in the natural, that’s where your situation will stay.

Whatever you’re facing today will always turn out best in the supernatural. The impossible suddenly turns into likely, the broken becomes fixed, the old is made new, and mourning is turned into dancing.

So, if you want to overcome financial pressure, release your grip on your situation, cast your cares upon the Lord, and watch Him work, put these five ways to overcome financial pressure into action, and get ready to receive your abundant harvest! 7 Steps to Receiving the Desires of Your Heart

7 Steps to Receive the Desires of Your Heart

Wondering if you’ll ever see your heart’s desires come to pass? Don’t give up! Use these seven steps and move closer to everything you’ve dreamed of.

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” –Psalm 37:4

What are the desires of your heart? Your heart’s desires equal everything you secretly dream about, visualize or imagine.  They’re not just far-off, impractical wishes or impossible hopes, but they are deeply spiritual in nature.

Maybe you desire to be married or have children. Perhaps you’ve always desired to start a ministry or a business. Or what about financial freedom and abundance? Is that your dream? Whatever the desires of your heart, it’s never too late to receive them. No matter how old you are or how long you’ve been waiting—you can live the life you’ve always dreamed of.

Many Christians wonder if the desires of their heart are God’s will, and rightly so. Before we ever begin pursuing our heart’s desires, we must know they line up with God’s Word and will. The more time you spend with God—seeking Him and obeying His Word—the more certain you will be that your heart’s desires match His will. In fact, when you follow Him, He puts those desires in your heart (Psalm 37:4). They become in sync with His will.

Find out three ways to know if the desires of your heart are God’s will here.

Once you are convinced you are in line with God’s will and Word, follow these seven steps to receive the desires of your heart.

1. Catch a Vision

“I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants.” –Genesis 13:15

The first step to receive the desires of your heart is to catch a vision. If you can see it, you can have it. That doesn’t mean if you want it badly enough, you’ll get it. It means if you can catch a vision in your spirit (the inward man) and believe you will receive what you pray for—it will be yours (Mark 11:24).

That’s what happened when Moses sent 12 spies to scope out the Promised Land. They all saw the same things, experienced the same things, and were given the same information. Yet, they came back with strikingly different reports. Ten of the 12 came back saying, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us” (Numbers 13:31, NASB).

But Joshua and Caleb caught a vision of what God could do to deliver their hearts’ desires into their hands. They said, “We should by all means go up and take possession of it, for we will surely overcome it” (verse 30, NASB). They were the only ones who caught the vision—two out of 12!

There are two kinds of people—those who can see their desires coming to pass and those who can’t (or won’t). Only one group will be in the victor’s circle. Don’t let naysayers talk you out of what belongs to you. Catch a vision in your spirit of your heart’s desires with the Word of God, and declare aloud, “I will by all means take possession of my heart’s desires, for I am well able to overcome any adversity by my God!”

2. Disconnect From the World

“Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God?” –James 4:4

Once you catch a vision of receiving the desires of your heart, it’s time to prepare your heart to receive them. The Bible begins here: “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord” (Psalm 37:3-4, NKJV).

How do you do this? It starts with disconnecting from the world—that’s the only way to give God first place in your life. Many believers wonder why good things never seem to happen to them. They expect God to do His part, yet they are not willing to do their part.

Jerry Savelle explains it this way:

“You have to get to the place where you qualify to receive the good things God wants to give you. When you seek Him, trust Him and delight yourself in Him, then it becomes His responsibility to bring you the good things that will satisfy the desires of your heart. If you start to pursue the things you want in life, rather than pursuing God, you will disqualify yourself from the promises. So, seek God’s face—not His hand. When you pursue intimacy with God, you will qualify yourself to receive all that He has promised. And the best part is, you will not lack any good thing.”

Make a commitment to connect with God every day, feed on His faithfulness, and delight yourself in Him. Trust in His love for you, and He will bring all the desires of your heart to pass.

3. Throw Off Unforgiveness

“Throw off everything that hinders.” –Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)

You’ve caught a vision and disconnected from the world—maybe you’ve already done much more than that. Maybe you’ve done all that you can think to do. When you’re standing in faith to receive the desires of your heart, you’ve likely contemplated Ephesians 6:13, which says, “having done all…stand” (KJV). But a lot of times, people have done all they want to do, not all they are required to do.

One of the most common areas where people miss it is in the area of unforgiveness. It’s the big dog of hindrances to receiving your heart’s desires. Part of the reason for this is a misconception of what forgiveness really means. Forgiving someone isn’t a special favor to them. It isn’t justifying what they’ve done, and it doesn’t even indicate a restored relationship. In fact, forgiveness isn’t something that happens between you and another person—it’s something that happens within you. It is a quiet, personal transformation in your heart.

More important than anything else—forgiving someone else sets you free. That’s why Paul exhorted believers to “focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead” (Philippians 3:13).

Watch as Kenneth Copeland teaches you how unforgiveness disarms faith.

Whatever has been said about you, done to you, stolen from you—make a decision to forgive—no matter how big or how small. Obey God, throw off unforgiveness, look forward to what lies ahead, and watch as the path to your heart’s desire opens right up to you.

4. Don’t Oversimplify Love

“The greatest of these is love.” –1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)

Are you starting to figure out that achieving your heart’s desires involves many working parts? It’s similar to the human body. And although each individual part has a unique and specific function, none can work at all without one component moving and flowing through them all—blood. It’s a complex system that delivers and retrieves what each body part requires, and without it—nothing else works.

The same is true in your spirit man, only the critical element in the spirit realm is love. The entire world was created by Love Himself (God). Love is what saved and delivered us, it’s what healed us, and it’s what sustains us here on earth. It is so powerful, that without love (given and received), one’s physical body can even begin to deteriorate, causing sickness and disease.

When you cut off love, you cut off the blood flow to your entire being. Living without love suffocates the other areas of your spiritual life. Without love, you cannot be in obedience to God’s Word: You cannot forgive, you cannot give, you cannot keep yourself from evil. Love is the lifeblood to your heart’s desires.

The reason so many Christians aren’t seeing more manifestations of God’s goodness in their lives is that they have oversimplified the idea of love. It isn’t just “being nice” in general, or loving your friends and family. It isn’t just avoiding strife or living a good life. Love is much deeper and more far-reaching. God’s two greatest commandments are that we love Him and love others. We find a partial definition of love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, but to fully understand what God is asking in the first and second greatest commandments, consider a full study about love in the Bible. It will bring revelation, as you seek to fulfill this step to achieving your heart’s desires.

Watch Kenneth Copeland share how faith and love work together.

Take the time to discover what love really is, and then let the Holy Spirit do a work within you. If you heed His correction, He will help you learn to love like you never have before. As you do, you’ll find that love will open the door. Love will give life to your heart’s desires.

5. Create a Thought-Word Connection

“He will have whatever he says.” –Mark 11:23 (NKJV)

We’ve covered several necessary steps to achieving your heart’s desires, and we’ve learned that each one plays a critical part in producing results. The next critical step to is to create a thought-word connection. Why is this important?

Think back to one of those nail-biting scenes in a movie where someone is trying to disarm a bomb. Cut the blue wire…no, wait. Cut the red one…wait. Maybe it’s the black one! The simple disconnecting of one wire defuses the power of the bomb, making it useless because each one of those wires must unite to cause an explosive reaction.

Achieving your heart’s desires is the same. If just one spiritual wire is missing—nothing will work—your faith will be disarmed. There are two such “wires” that, when connected, have power far beyond anything that can be created by man here on earth—thoughts and words.

Find out more about the scientific evidence for the power of words here.

Gloria Copeland likes to say, “Talk the Word.” That doesn’t mean just every now and then when you’re feeling spiritual—but continually. In Deuteronomy 6:7, God says you should talk His Word “when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (NIV). That’s pretty much all the time, isn’t it? At home, at work, in the grocery store—wherever you are, keep the Word of God in your mouth.

But, here’s the connecting wire: To change what’s coming out of your mouth, you must change the thoughts you’re thinking. Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart [the] mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45, NKJV). If you’re focusing most of your attention on natural things—watching secular television, thinking about worldly matters, worrying about your job and family—then that’s what is going to be in your heart in abundance. And that’s what you’re going to talk about.

You can’t put natural things first and expect God to fulfill the desires of your heart; you’re doing it backward. Instead, fill your heart with an abundance of the Word, and your mouth will get in line. When you connect your thoughts and your words by creating a thought-word connection, get ready for an explosive response in the spirit realm! Your heart’s desires will be the result.

6. Persevere in Faith

“Through faith and patience inherit the promises.” –Hebrews 6:12 (KJV)

After your thoughts and words are in line with God’s Word, what do you do next? You wait. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you like waiting to receive the desires of your heart? Waiting probably doesn’t rank very high. Patience isn’t as fun as conquering by faith, is it? But perseverance is required to get to the finish line. That’s why Hebrews 10:36 says, “You have need of patience” (NMB) because persevering in faith is what brings you to the finish line—where your heart’s desires are waiting for you.

But waiting isn’t passive—it’s very active! While you’re waiting, you are persevering in your faith, which means you aren’t letting anything or anyone talk you out of what you’re believing for. And while you’re waiting, you obey God’s commands all along the way.

Perhaps the desire of your heart is a spouse. You may be frustrated by how long it is taking to see this come to pass. Yet, so many singles who are asking God for a mate are doing their own thing, living their own way, and not trusting or waiting on God. Many are pursuing unbelievers and engaging in an impure lifestyle. This will hinder the desires of their hearts (Matthew 5:8).

To persevere in faith, don’t waver from your position—remain obedient, continually grow in God, and above all—Don’t. Give. Up.

7. Develop a Heart of Gratitude

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise.” –Psalm 100:4 (KJV)

If you’ve been waiting quite some time for your heart’s desires, there’s a sneaky temptation that can creep in and poison your heart—grumbling. Why hasn’t it happened yet? I’ve been following the Lord for 20 years. I’m a tither, and I live a godly life. Nothing good ever happens to me like it does for others.

Start thinking these kinds of thoughts, and just like that—you’ll get out of alignment.

A heart of gratitude is full of praise and thanksgiving—and holds amazing power. If believers really understood the magnitude of that power, they’d be praising God with every breath. Your heart’s desires are contingent upon developing a heart of gratitude. It will release you from bondage and unleash the power of abundance in your life. You may not feel like it at first, but keep practicing. God is worthy of all our praise. As you praise Him for who He is and the victory He’s secured for you, He will make a way to bring the desires of your heart to pass.

Now that you know the seven steps to receiving the desires of your heart, you can start putting them into practice today. Take the time to get a vision, disconnect from the world, forgive, love, think and talk the Word, and wait with a heart of gratitude. When you do, “may he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed” (Psalm 20:4, NIV)!
