Randy Roberts was coaching football when he accepted Jesus as his Savior in his late 20s. He was living in Fayetteville, Ark., but he quit his job to move to Fort Worth, Texas, where he went to work in the mail room at Kenneth Copeland Ministries. One day, his supervisor approached him and gave him a VHS tape, telling him “You need to watch this.”
Following her recommendation, he watched the video; what he saw was a sea of people that looked as if it were “unending.” Moved with compassion, he wept as he watched the imagery on his television screen. He went back to his supervisor and told her the video was awesome, but he asked, “What does that have to do with me?” Her response: “That’s the only thing I could find that looked anything like what God showed me about your life.” He thought to himself: What is she talking about?
School of Evangelism
That video was a Reinhard Bonnke crusade. Years later, in 2019, he was praying one morning when Christ for All Nations (CFAN) came up in his heart. CFAN is the ministry that was started by Bonnke; however, Roberts didn’t realize that just yet. CFAN has a School of Evangelism, which at the time was a 4–5-day event that was held in Orlando, Fla. at their offices. It was an immersion experience. You need to go to that; he heard in his spirit.
At this point in his life, he didn’t even remember the VHS tape he had seen years before. However, at the School of Evangelism, they had huge photographs on the walls displaying massive crowds of people “[Unlike] you’ve [ever] seen,” stated Roberts. It was those pictures that caused him to remember the video from years earlier, which had showcased the evangelistic crusades of Bonnke’s ministry; it was then that it dawned on him: he was standing on the property of Bonnke’s ministry. It was a full-circle moment for Roberts, because he realized this was what his former supervisor had seen when she was prompted to give him the VHS tape all those years ago. He thought to himself, I am in the right place!
That started a relationship with CFAN, and he went through a program of their ministry called Boot Camp. Since being trained by them, he has seen 662,900+ salvations!
Vision Accomplished, One Step at a Time
The vision was implanted in him many years prior, when he was given the VHS tape by his supervisor, even though he had no idea what he was seeing at the time. Says Roberts, “[The Lord] gives you this big vision, but then you don’t have any idea of how to get there.”
Something that the Lord has impressed on Roberts’ heart is that “in order for me to accomplish the big vision, I [must] complete the little vision He gives me every day.” That little vision includes hearing His voice and doing the next thing the Lord tells him to do. “When God gives me a vision of something, that’s my word from God to stand on. I need to remember that vision in order to have faith to walk it out,” states Roberts. He went on to say, “He will give you the vision that’s 1,000 steps away, or more, and then He’ll tell you the first [step] to [take]. If I don’t take the first step, I’m never finding out about the second, or the third, much less the thousandth.”
Trailblazers
According to Roberts, he’s just doing what he has learned from Brother Kenneth Copeland and Brother Keith Moore. “They’ve kind of blazed the trail for us.” One area in which he has learned from them is the area of finances. “It costs a lot of money to do these things. But being connected with the Copelands [as Partners], by sowing our seed into them, I know I am sowing into good ground, and that my harvest is going to be quick and abundant.”
Roberts may not have realized it those many years ago when he left Arkansas for Texas, but he was simply taking the next step toward the Lord’s vision for his life.
What vision has the Lord placed in your heart? Ask Him today what the next step is that you can take, as you journey forward with Him. Let Him lead you every step of the way. After all, as Psalm 37:23 states: “The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”
