5 Prayer Points to Pray Right Now for the Election

5 Prayer Points to Pray Right Now for the Election

Will You Join Us in Praying Over these FIVE STRATEGIC PRAYER POINTS for the election and share this to at least 10 other people who are prayerfully concerned about our nation?

As we continue to stand in faith concerning these elections, it’s important that we are praying and interceding on behalf of our nation.

Today, former Congresswoman Michele Bachmann shared prayer points with Brother Copeland that he would like to also share with you, so you can add your supply of faith and agreement.

Michele wrote in her message to Brother Copeland, “In the aftermath of the election, what is going on in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona and Nevada is nothing short of wicked…It is now time for the Body of Christ to step up.”

Knowing that our prayers avail much, the intent of sharing these prayer points is to mobilize a mighty intercessory prayer army to storm the gates of heaven on behalf of the voters of these states.

The prayer strategy is simple. Join us in praying through the prayer petitions below. Then, forward this post to at least 10 friends who are prayerfully concerned about this nation and the integrity of our electoral system. The original distribution was to 20 prayer warriors. In only 6 generations of forwarding this letter, it has the potential to reach 20 million prayer warriors!

The following are 5 prayer points to pray right now for the election as submitted by former Congresswoman Michele Bachmann:

PRAYER POINT #1:

Expose and hold accountable those who practice the seven things God hates and He says are detestable to Him. According to Proverbs 6:16-17, There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to Him: 1. haughty eyes, 2. a lying tongue, 3. hands that shed innocent blood, 4. a heart that devises wicked plans, 5. feet that are quick to rush into evil, 6. a false witness who pours out lies, 7. a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Pray it out:

Heavenly Father, we humbly ask that in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona and Nevada please silence every lying tongue and convict the hearts of those who devise wicked plans intended to invalidate and nullify the expressed will of the voters. Stop those who would be quick to rush into evil. Expose and silence every false witness who utters lies and operates in deceit. Thwart the efforts of every person who attempts to stir conflict within their community.

PRAYER POINT #2:

Expose all wickedness intended to steal, kill and destroy the electoral process in these battleground states.

Pray it out:

Heavenly Father, we humbly ask that in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada that you “reveal deep and hidden things. You know what lies in darkness. Light dwells with You.” (Daniel 2:22) Please bring to light and expose every lie, deceit, deception, misrepresentation and illegal act intended to “steal, kill and destroy” the electoral process and the expressed will of the citizens and these states. (John 10:10)

PRAYER POINT #3:

Frustrate those who seek to steal, kill, and destroy electoral integrity and authentic, accurate vote counts in these battleground states.

Pray it out:

Heavenly Father, please, “Frustrate the plotting of the shrewd so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise or attain success.” May no weapon formed intended to steal, kill and destroy the authentic, accurate vote count and expressed will of the people in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada “be allowed to prosper.” (Isaiah 54:17)

PRAYER POINT #4:

Frustrate and thwart the plans of those who attempt to sabotage the state’s election laws and subvert the expressed will of the people.

Pray it out:

Heavenly Father, please “Capture the wise by their own shrewdness and quickly thwart the advice of the cunning” (Job 5:12) whose intention is to sabotage and subvert state and federal election law and the expressed will of the people in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada. “Hold them guilty O LORD, by their own devices let them fall.” (Psalm 5:10)

PRAYER POINT #5:

Psalm 5 for protection and favor for President Trump.

Pray it out:

Heavenly Father, please “Give ear to President Trump’s words, O LORD, consider President Trump’s groaning. Heed the sound of his cry for help, for you are his King and his God. For to You does he pray. In the morning O LORD, you will hear his voice; in the morning he will order his prayer to you and eagerly watch. For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; no evil dwells with You. The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who do iniquity. Destroy those who speak falsehood. You abhor the man of bloodshed and deceit. But as for President Trump, by Your abundant lovingkindness he will enter Your house. At your holy temple he will bow in reverence for you. Lord. Please lead President Trump in Your righteousness because of his foes. Make his way straight before him. There is nothing reliable in what they say; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. Hold them guilty, O God. By their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out for they are rebellious against You. But let President Trump take refuge in You and be glad. Let him ever sing for joy. May you shelter him. May he who loves Your name exult in You. Bless President Trump, O LORD. Surround him with favor as with a shield.” Heavenly Father, please give supernatural wisdom, strength and discernment to the President and his advisors regarding how to navigate the road ahead. In the mighty Name of Jesus, we pray, amen.

Thank you, Michele, for giving us these five strategic prayer points —all directly from the Bible. So, in praying these, we are doing what faith people do. We pray the WORD and expect The WORD’s results!

This is much like the prayer in the fourth chapter of the Book of Acts where the place they were at was shaken by the visible power of the Living God. Praying this prayer in unison—agreement—will shake this nation once again toward its righteous goal.

We are the victors. We win.

Pray these prayer points with your family. Pray them in your groups. Pray them prayer in your church. Where two or more are gathered in agreement, the I AM is in their midst (Matthew 18:19).

Also, we invite you to join Pastor Terri Copeland Pearsons tomorrow for LIVE prayer on the Terri Copeland Pearsons Facebook page at 11 a.m. ET/ 10 a.m. CT.

Thank you for your prayers and for standing strong in faith for our nation.

Always remember, God loves you, we love you, and JESUS IS LORD!

Becoming a Person of Influence—Partner Testimony

Becoming a Person of Influence

KCM Partner Becky Haas shares how God has used her in ways she never imagined—all because she made herself available to Him. Discover her path to becoming a person of influence.

Becky Haas doesn’t see herself as extraordinary. She refers to herself as “probably the most ordinary person you would ever meet,” but she admits that the Lord has used her mightily because she is available, willing and lives in THE BLESSING. In a recent five-part KCM video series, Becky shared how the Lord has used her in ways she couldn’t have imagined.

A Partner with KCM, Becky first heard Kenneth and Gloria Copeland teach while attending Rhema Bible School in Broken Arrow, Okla. After finishing her studies in 1979, she returned home to Johnson City, Tenn., where she worked in various positions in her church, in itinerant ministry, in secular jobs and then for East Tennessee State University. When her position at the university ended in 2012, she found herself wondering what the next step would be.

During that season of transition, Becky began watching the “Days of Prosperity” series with Gloria Copeland and George Pearsons on the Believer’s Voice of Victory broadcast. Using the downloaded notes from those broadcasts, she spent eight months studying what the Word of God says about being a person of influence and standing on Deuteronomy 28: “The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you” (verse 8, NKJV).

While she applied for many jobs, the only one that opened up for her was a position with the local police department that focused on crime reduction. She applied and got the job as director even though she had no background in law enforcement. Becky quickly discovered that her area in rural Appalachia was deeply mired in the opioid epidemic.

Becky began to pray for her area, including creative ideas to prevent drug use and how to help those who had been incarcerated reenter society. Specifically, she stood on James 1:5, which says, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”

She began seeking the Lord for answers to the crisis in her area and making a daily confession based on God’s Word. “Every day, solutions to my city, my state and my nation flow through me,” she said.

Thanks to the leading of the Holy Spirit, Becky created a 12- to 15-month program where parolees could attend each day and learn skills for successful drug recovery and relapse prevention. When the grant for Becky’s program ended, Tennessee’s Department of Corrections learned that the program was saving the state $50-$60 each day per person and had cut re-offenses by more than half. It decided to continue funding the program out of its own budget, and the program continues today.

Becky has gone even further. She began calling on the churches in her area to come together every other month to hear about the needs in the community. The different denominations have united to join with Becky and her team to meet the needs in their community. Whether it’s feeding hungry families, reaching out to abused children, fixing up a homeless shelter, or cleaning up a littered road, Becky and the local churches are being the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.

The police chief in her area assigned Becky the task of creating a trauma care center where victims of sexual assault and abuse could find refuge. The vision for the center was to have legal services, health services, mental health services and other services come together, so victims would only have to tell their stories once and then have access to the help they need. Within four years, Becky was able to accomplish that task. Since then, the model has been replicated in other states.

Becky takes her partnership with Kenneth Copeland Ministries seriously. Through the Believer’s Voice of Victory broadcast and attending KCM’s meetings, she has learned how to stand on the Word to an even greater degree and to walk in THE BLESSING, applying the spiritual lessons she’s learned to her position in law enforcement and to the programs she has spearheaded. Her testimony is an example of what God can do in and through His people when they stand in faith on His Word and commit to be available for His use. May we all be inspired to be people—believers—of influence, too!

KCM Relief Team Ministers in Lake Charles Following Hurricane Laura

Relief-Team-Hurricane-Laura-Blog-Image-NO-BUG-1500x1000

The KCM Relief Team is on the ground in Lake Charles, La., helping Partners and those in need after Hurricane Laura.

Updated 9/17/20

Over the last few weeks, the Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM) Relief Team has been in Lake Charles, La., ministering to Partners and friends affected by Hurricane Laura, which made landfall Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020, just south of Lake Charles near Cameron, as a Category 4 storm.

CHECKING ON PARTNERS

First, our team checked on our Partners in the Lake Charles area. Here are some of their stories.

The Broussards Had Minimal Damage

On Monday, Aug. 31, the KCM Relief Team located 37-year KCM Partners Dave and Dorothy Broussard. The Broussards shared how Hurricane Laura went right over their community, wreaking complete destruction and devastation within 40 miles in every direction. However, their house suffered minimal damage compared to other houses. Praise The LORD!

Watch the Broussards share their story below.

Gloria Spoke to the Storm

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, our Relief Team found Gloria, who has been a Partner for 24 years. In the video below, Gloria shares how she learned from KCM to stand on The WORD of God and to send out angels to have charge over her, which is exactly what she did! She spoke to the storm, commanded minimal damage, and her prayers were answered. Glory to God!

During the evacuation, she was displaced back and forth between Lake Charles and Dallas. KCM and the Relief Team blessed her financially to help cover the cost of being displaced during that time. Thank you to our Partners for making this possible!

Wilbert’s Story: ‘God Provided for Me’

On Wednesday, Sept. 2, our team located Partner Wilbert Fontenot, whose home was struck by Hurricane Laura. Wilbert shared with us how his wife of 30 years, Charmaine, passed away on Aug. 2, 2020, from COVID-19, and then Hurricane Laura did significant damage to his home.

His house is full of water, and he’s been forced to sleep in the only livable room in the house. However, he’s not getting much sleep, about two to three hours per night, because he’s been helping his neighbors clean out their homes, too.

“I’m going to make it,” says a teary-eyed, yet determined, Wilbert. “Because God provided for me.”

Our team was blessed to be able to provide financial support to Wilbert to help him with costs, and we were also able to pray for him during this difficult time. Will you pray for him, too?

This is what it’s all about–Partners helping Partners!

HELPING CLEAN UP & REPAIR

After initially checking on Partners, the KCM Relief Team took a team of 12 back to Lake Charles the week of Sept. 13 to help those in need with cleanup efforts and repair work to homes and buildings. Our team was blessed to partner with Operation Blessing in this effort. The crew worked on tree removal, debris clean-up and mold removal, as well as completed work on 12 family homes and one ministry building.

Watch this video below to see the work the Relief Team is doing in Lake Charles.

Pictures from Lake Charles

The KCM Relief Team is made possible by the financial support and prayers of our Partners. So, if you are a Partner with Kenneth Copeland Ministries or a member of Eagle Mountain International Church, thank you. Your support through prayer and giving affects lives spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially worldwide.

The Truth About Righteousness

The Truth About Righteousness

Are you righteous? If you see yourself as unworthy or having to earn right-standing with God, it’s time to learn the truth about righteousness!

Do you know the truth about righteousness? One thing holding more Christians in bondage than anything else is a lack of understanding righteousness. That’s why every day of your life on this earth, Satan is going to try to convince you that you don’t have any right to the things of God. He’s going to try to bring you into bondage again to sin in order to control your life. But he won’t be able to do it if you’ll reawaken yourself every day to who you really are in Jesus.

Righteousness is a big concept and can often seem complicated to understand. A host of different doctrines flying around doesn’t help, either! But it is critical that we, as Christians, take the time to discover the truth about righteousness, so we can live a life filled with faith and free from hindrances.

We’re about to bust open the door that has held Christians back for far too long. If you’ve been stuck on the other side of what belongs to you in Christ Jesus—failing to receive everything He has for you—buckle your seat belt; because you’re about to go into hyperspeed from uncertainty to full-blown, Holy Ghost, fire-of-God faith!

What Is Righteousness?

Traditional thinking confuses righteousness with holiness. Many people never stop to ask the question, “What is righteousness?” They think they already know the answer and believe righteousness is the way you act, but this is not true. Holiness is your conduct; righteousness is what you are—the nature of God.

In other words, righteousness is not a “goody-goody” way of acting or something that can be attained. The word translated righteousness literally means “in right-standing.” We have been put in right-standing with God through the work of Jesus at Calvary. When a person accepts Jesus, he or she is moved into a position of new birth and enters into the kingdom of God as God’s very own child and a joint heir with Jesus Christ. And it is critical that Christians begin to see themselves as righteous—because there is power in their knowing the truth about righteousness.

Faith is a force, love is a force, hope is a force—but did you know righteousness is also a force? If you begin to look at righteousness as a force, it will help you in your thinking, receiving and operating in it. If you break down the truth about righteousness into bite-sized pieces and take it for what it is, rather than what you’ve heard in church all your life, something is going to change on the inside of you. Something powerful is going to rise up and start declaring, rebuking, reclaiming, unshackling, enforcing, receiving and rejoicing in the power and righteousness of the Lord God Almighty that has been given to you!

If you’re ready to undo wrong thinking, pull back the religious curtain, and see your God-given identity for what it really is—it’s time to learn the truth about righteousness.

1. You Can’t Earn Righteousness

“We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.” –Romans 3:22

Do you struggle with feeling “good enough” for God? “Good enough” for His blessings and favor? Maybe you’re working to live a righteous life through works, and even comparing yourself to others in hopes of finding some place where you will finally feel like you deserve to be called righteous.

Here’s something that might mess up your theology—you can’t earn righteousness, because you already are righteous. You might be thinking, Well, I don’t feel righteous. But that doesn’t make it any less true! The moment you were born again, you became righteous. Not perfect, not holy, but righteous—right with God. How? By faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:21-22).

God’s gift to the world was when Jesus, who knew no sin, was made to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21, NKJV). We, who knew sin, were made righteous when we were born again and became new creatures.

Are you born again? Then you’re right with God. Now, there may be some things in your life you need to change, but you’re right with God. Righteousness is not connected to our conduct—you can’t earn righteousness with good behavior. It comes only through faith in Jesus Christ and is “for everyone who believes, no matter who we are” (Romans 3:22). That is a powerful and miraculous truth that will change your life forever when you really get revelation of it.

So, in spite of anything you’ve heard or believed, the truth is, righteousness is a free gift.

You’re righteous because God said you are righteous. You don’t need to take a vote on it.

No one can vote you out. Jesus has been seated at the right hand of God the Father, and the scepter of righteousness has been handed to Him (Hebrews 1:8). The scepter is what the King approves, anoints and appoints with.  When you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, that scepter of righteousness was pointed to you just as He promised, and you were presented to your Father as righteous. Case closed.

Now, once you have revelation of righteousness as a free gift, you can begin to lean on it. Satan will come and tell you that you don’t have any right to be healed, to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit, or to minister to others. If you don’t have revelation of righteousness, you might agree with him. But when you see in the Word that you have a right to the gift of righteousness simply because Jesus gave you the right, you won’t buy it when the devil comes peddling sin consciousness.

God expects you to take your rightful place and live in the truth about righteousness. Begin to believe and walk in it, and to lean hard on the righteousness which God has freely given you. When you come across rough spots, instead of buckling under them, you’ll stand tall and triumph over them. You’ll come out victorious!

2. Sin Consciousness Is Not God’s Will for You

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.” –Romans 8:1

If you were to ask most Christians, “Are you righteous?” they would say, “Me? No!” They are trying to be humble. They’re afraid God wouldn’t like it if they said they were righteous. Actually, they’re speaking from the way they feel—from the way they’ve been trained—from ignorance of the Word of God concerning righteousness.

Every time we start toward the righteousness of God, Satan jumps up in our paths and says, “Remember the ugly things you’ve done? Don’t expect God to forget all that! Who do you think you are? You’re too unworthy to approach God!”

This is called sin consciousness—being focused on condemnation and negative outcomes rather than what Christ has done for you. Sin consciousness is not God’s will for you. Almost everyone is familiar with this scripture: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23, KJV). This scripture has been quoted untold numbers of times in preaching about sin. But read further into this passage, and you’ll find what Paul was really trying to convey:

Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood…God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. (Romans 3:24-26)

God’s will is that His people be righteousness conscious—not sin conscious. Beating yourself up about every mistake you’ve made doesn’t make you holy. When you made Jesus your Lord, He didn’t just cover your sins, He put you into right-standing with God and re-created you by the Spirit of God as if sin had never existed.

But if you’re like many believers, you haven’t fully grasped that magnificent truth. You’re caught up in sin consciousness. You keep thinking of yourself as sin-stained instead of blood-washed.

Folks, it’s time to believe the Word of God. Did you know that there is no longer a sin problem? Jesus solved it! He stopped the law of sin and death at the Cross and Resurrection. The only problem we have is the sinner problem. It’s man’s choice. All we need to do is choose righteousness and walk away from the sin problem.

What does that mean? It means no more being curse minded instead of BLESSING minded. It means being GOD-INSIDE minded, expecting victory all the time. So, I can say with confidence, “Thanks be to God who always gives me the victory,” rather than, “Well, win a few, lose a few.” No! Win all the time!

It’s time to accept the truth that sin consciousness is not God’s will for you and to move in line with this revelation of the truth about righteousness. You were a sinner—you have been forgiven. You are now His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus! Begin to stand on this, instead of your past life. As far as God is concerned, your past life is forgotten. Now, you need to forget it.

Learn to recognize the hindrances to faith as Kenneth Copeland teaches you to understand your righteousness.

3. Righteousness Is a Powerful Force

“Much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness…reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).” –Romans 5:17 (AMPC)

Righteousness is a powerful force, and this verse makes it clear—receiving righteousness enables us to “reign as kings in life.” In other words, when you make Jesus the Lord of your life, you receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to enable you to reign in life as a king over your life circumstances.

Are you reigning over your life, or is your life reigning over you? Your righteousness is power—power to reign over your life, your garden, your body and your household. Take that power, and refuse to let sickness and disease come on your body. Take authority over it. Refuse to let poverty come into your household. Take authority over anything that threatens your safety.

You are a world overcomer. You are the righteousness of God. So, it is time, by faith in the blood, that you start talking like an overcomer, acting like an overcomer and telling the devil he is overcome.

As a citizen of the United States, you have certain rights, outlined in the Constitution, called “The Bill of Rights.” The same thing is true with God. As a believer, you are a citizen of the kingdom of God and have a right to everything in the Kingdom. And He wants you to be a partaker! That’s why Jesus said, “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32, KJV).

Righteousness is a powerful force. When we stand in the righteousness of God, we have the right to stand without any fear, knowing that demons have to flee in the Name of Jesus who defeated hell and death on the cross. And the force of righteousness completely overcomes the power of sin and death like a bonfire overcomes a drop of water. We have more power over our lives as the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ than Satan had over us while we were in sin.

Jesus has already won the victory. Satan is already defeated. He was whipped at Calvary. We’re not on the defensive—Satan is! So, don’t neglect the power of the force of righteousness. Stand in the truth about righteousness every day. Keep the devil on the defensive—and occupy till Jesus comes!

4. Awake to Righteousness

“Awake to righteousness, and sin not….” –1 Corinthians 15:34 (KJV)

Awake to righteousness. Become aware that you have been made the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ, and you have been placed in right-standing with Him through the sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary. When you have a revelation of the truth about righteousness, it will stop the sin in your life.

As long as Satan can convince you that you don’t have any right to the things of God, he can keep you under his thumb and sin will control your life. But when you awake to righteousness, you will realize that Satan is a defeated foe, and the struggle is over.

Awake to righteousness…become righteousness minded! You have been thoroughly equipped to handle every situation that comes your way. You are to reign in life as a king by Jesus Christ. You are to live in fellowship with the Father. He chose to give you His righteousness, His ability and His strength “because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4, KJV). Praise God!

In conclusion, when you get a revelation of the truth about righteousness, you will finally be able to answer the question, “What is righteousness?” You will discover you can’t earn righteousness, that sin consciousness is not God’s will for you, and that righteousness is a powerful force. Once you awake to righteousness, you won’t ever again question your right-standing with God. You were made to focus on, live in and operate by the power of righteousness. It’s God’s will for you. And that is the truth about righteousness.

The Power of First Words

The Power of First Words

What is the first thing you say when you get bad news? It matters far more than you may realize. The power of first words can cement your defeat or catapult you to victory!

The first words that come out of your mouth.

In a crisis, these words are often emotion-driven and without forethought. They come in a moment of venting before moving into problem-solving mode. That’s natural. And it’s how most people respond to trials.

That should be your first warning sign. ⚠️

Anything that is a “natural” response is almost always a flesh response (read: wrong). But is it really that big of a deal?

Short answer: YES.

Here, we’re sharing why how the power of FIRST words in a crisis cab either cement your defeat or catapult you to victory!

1. First Words Set Spiritual Laws in Motion

“The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.” –Matthew 12:37

Like it or hate it, believe it or not—your words matter.

We’re never going to stop saying it because it will never stop being true.

Words—especially FIRST words—set spiritual laws in motion. God designed it this way. Words fuel results one way or the other. That’s spiritual law. How do we know?

  • Proverbs 18:21: The tongue has the power of life and death.
  • Mark 11:22-24: You will have whatever you say.
  • Proverbs 13:3: He who guards his lips guards his life.

And that’s just a small sample. The Bible is full of warnings against speaking wrong words because God knows they have POWER.

The first words any human ear ever heard were, “Be fruitful. Multiply. Fill up the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth!” God’s first words to man were BLESSING and empowerment. That’s His will for us. So to be in line with His will, our words should match His in every situation.

That’s what Jesus was showing Jairus when he was facing a seeming tragedy in his life. News had just come that his daughter had died. Now, Jairus could have said a lot of things right off the bat. He could’ve allowed his first words to be filled with grief, anger, disappointment or fear.

Jesus knew he would be tempted to do this, but He also knew it would set the wrong spiritual laws in motion. So, He quickly cautioned him, saying, “Do not fear, only believe” (Mark 5:36, ESV).

As a result, we don’t see Jairus saying anything. He didn’t get into agreement with the bad report by speaking words, which was critical to the outcome of the situation. And as we know, a miracle took place, and his daughter was raised from the dead.

What about you?

What would be your first words if you received a bad report from the doctor? How about receiving news that you’d been laid off from your job? Or that your teenager had gotten into serious trouble?

Matthew 12:37 says, “The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.” If your first words are in opposition to what you want to see come to pass, you’re setting the wrong spiritual law in motion and setting yourself up for a negative result.

(Learn how you could be sinking your own ship with your words HERE.)

It is much easier to set the right spiritual law in motion with your FIRST WORDS than to speak wrong words fueled by emotion and then try to rein them back in later.

2. First Words Establish Your Faith Stand

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” –Mark 11:23 (NKJV)

Think about it. Your first response to a situation—anger, fear, resentment, sadness—is where you usually stay. If you start out in doubt or fear, it’s a much tougher transition to move over into faith because you’ve already told yourself (and the spirit realm) what you think about the matter.

On the other hand, FIRST WORDS that match God’s Word will establish an image of strong faith inside you—it will establish your faith stand upfront.

Faith words spoken first will keep you from being double-minded—flipping back and forth between fear and faith—and will keep you in position to receive. After all, James 1:6-7 says a double-minded man receives nothing from God, so you might as well pick a side—faith or fear—from the beginning.

That’s what the Shunammite woman was doing in 2 Kings 4 when her child died in her arms. She was facing a crisis—a tragedy—and she had to make an in-the-moment decision about how to respond. If she let natural emotion take over, she would have broken down, cried, mourned and even become angry. She likely would have accepted what had happened and begun planning a burial.

But she didn’t do any of those things.

Instead, she laid the child in a room, sent for a donkey, and headed off to see Elisha. When asked by her husband why she was rushing off to see him, instead of weeping or declaring, “Our son is dead!” she spoke these famous words of faith: “All is well.” And you know how it ended for her—she saw her son raised from the dead!

FIRST WORDS—They mean more than you may know. The next time you receive bad news, instead of so many other things you could say, prepare now to say, “All is well.” How do you prepare ahead of time for a powerful faith-filled response? By filling up on the Word of God every single day.

(Find our suggestions for The Right First Words for 3 Scenarios HERE.)

The power of first words will dramatically affect your situation, and that’s why you need to have God’s Word inside you. When a problem arises, or you’re faced with some sort of crisis, you want the first words coming out of you to be words of life—not words of panic, doubt or fear. Let the Word of God be the first thing that comes out of your mouth!

Watch as Kenneth Copeland teaches you why your first words are the most important words you speak.

3. First Words Grant Permission

“Bless the LORD, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word.” –Psalm 103:20 (NKJV)

First words grant permission to someone—either the Lord to deliver BLESSING or the devil to unleash every evil work.

You see, your words are a start button. When you push the button, it sets things in motion—either good or bad. When we speak words, all of heaven is waiting to hear what we will say so that our words can be acted upon. The devil has no rights to us except what we give him through our words. That’s why Jesus said, “By your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:37, NKJV).

(Learn more about how your words are the start button to everything you’re believing for HERE.)

When the kingdom of darkness attacks, your first words are the keys of God’s kingdom. Your first words open the door or lock the door to that BLESSING wall that has been built around you.

That’s why Psalm 91:2 (NKJV) says, “I will say of the LORD…” Say what? “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” That is a statement of faith. The Wycliffe Bible continues in verse 3, saying, “For he shall save me.” After you say…you see deliverance because you’ve opened access to your life through your words.

It will determine your outcome—and the only outcome you should ever expect is one of VICTORY!

How to Overcome Emotional Trauma

How to Overcome Emotional Trauma

Has a painful childhood or life experience left you feeling broken? You CAN heal and take back your life!  Learn how to overcome emotional trauma with help from God’s Word.

READING TIME: 4 MINUTES

You let it define you.

Not intentionally or all at once.

But over time.

The emotional trauma you experienced when a painful life circumstance took place may have been a one-time event or recurring over a period of years. Maybe it was the way your dad left your family and never came back. Or the loss of a loved one at a tender time in your life. Or maybe it was physical or emotional abuse. Either way, it left a mark. And you can’t seem to shake it.

As long as you tolerate lingering symptoms of emotional trauma, you’re allowing the enemy to keep you shackled. Just like Jesus did for Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, He wants to loose you from your shackles and set you free. He wants to remove all evidence of the trauma you’ve experienced, so you can live a life of abundance.

Is there an experience you’ve allowed to define you? Do the effects and hurts seem to follow you everywhere you go?

Emotional traumas can include:
Rejection, neglect, criticism or abuse as a child
Experiencing a broken home as a child
Divorce
Betrayal
Loss of a family member
Extreme financial pressure or loss.

And that’s just for starters! No matter what you may have endured, emotional trauma is not a life sentence. You can take back your life and heal! Learn how to overcome emotional trauma. with help from God’s Word. Here’s where to start.

1. Be Willing to Overcome Emotional Trauma

A wealthy businessman and minister told a story of a time when he was in an accident where he endured third-degree burns all over his body. He was in excruciating pain, and the path to recovery required weeks in the hospital.

The treatment included cleaning the burns, which covered more than 60% of his body, and removing dead skin and tissue from the area—all of which was extremely painful. This had to be repeated over and over until the skin began to heal properly.

He remembers, “It was so painful, I could hardly stand it. But I knew if I didn’t allow them to clean the wounds, I would end up with a lifetime of debilitating problems.”

Overcoming physical trauma can be very painful. Emotional trauma is the same. But just like physical healing, emotional healing requires short-term discomfort for long-term health and happiness.

Willingness to overcome trauma may seem obvious, but many people are unknowingly hesitant. They may think they want to be delivered and set free, but something on the inside of them causes them to hold on to the hurt and pain.

It isn’t easy sorting through deep-rooted pain. In some ways, it can feel like living it all over again. But here’s something you need to remember: Jesus is the Healer. He bore all your pain—physical and emotional—on the Cross, so you could live a life of freedom. If you allow Him to treat your wounds, you’ll live a life you never dreamed possible. (Find A Prayer for a Fresh Start HERE.)

2. Stop the Blame Game

While there is no denying that the words and behaviors of others can cause pain, at some point, we each have to take responsibility for our own lives. Blame leaves others in the driver’s seat of your life. To take back your life, stop the blame game and take ownership of how you approach life and what feelings you allow to have influence over your decisions. Consider some of the common responses to emotional trauma:

  • Guilt
  • Shame
  • Anger
  • Fear
  • Grief
  • Depression
  • Rejection
  • Feelings of inadequacy
  • Defensiveness
  • Criticism of others

These do not have to be your lot in life. God said He wants you to be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2). Jesus bore every one of those symptoms, so you could live free. In Christ, we are not victims. In Him, we are no longer powerless. Through His power, authority, grace and mercy, we are victorious overcomers. Hallelujah!

Watch Gloria Copeland teach you how to overcome guilt and shame.

And it all starts with making a decision to stop the blame game and take back your life.

If any of the above symptoms have dominated your thinking and living, it’s time to make a change. Take personal responsibility for your behaviors. You cannot blame your fears, insecurities, negative attitude, failures, anger or any other behavior on anyone but you.

Go to Jesus and let Him take every negative feeling off your shoulders and out of your life forever. Allow Him to wash away the past and bring you into a glorious future!

3. Forgive

You knew it was coming.

Whether we like to hear it or not, there is no path to the good life when unforgiveness looms in the distance. You may feel justified holding onto grudges but trust us—you’re only hurting yourself.

Unforgiveness blocks every good thing.

It isn’t worth it. And it won’t change anything or anyone.

Think it’s too hard to forgive?

You’re right.

On your own, it is too hard. That’s why God has said He’ll make the impossible possible for us when we ask Him for help. He commanded you to forgive—He’ll equip you and strengthen you to forgive by faith. If you submit to Him, ask for His help, and make a firm, no-turning-back decision to forgive, one day as if out of nowhere, you’ll say, “I really have forgiven.”

4. Fill the Void

If fear, anger, insecurity or any other response to emotional trauma has been part of your life for a long period of time, as you work to remove those harmful feelings and habits, you need to also fill the void.

It isn’t enough to just say, “I won’t fear anymore.” You have to take two steps:

  1. Resist fear.
  2. Replace a spirit of fear with strong faith.

You can’t just say, “I won’t criticize others anymore.” You have to:

  1. See yourself the way God sees you and receive His love.
  2. Stop criticizing yourself.
  3. Look for the best in others.

As you find your identity in Christ and grow your relationship with God, you will find yourself driving out every sign of emotional trauma. (Try A Confession to Overcome Emotional Trauma HERE.)

When you take back your life with these ways to overcome emotional trauma, you’ll wish you would’ve pursued deliverance sooner! When God heals your hurts, no one will ever guess you’ve had a hardship in your life because you’ll be so full of faith, hope, joy, peace and love. You may have went through the fire, but like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, you will come out without even smelling like smoke!

Watch Gloria Copeland teach you how to replace fear with faith.

Thank you for joining the Elite CX Team in the victorious purchase and completion of the Gulfstream V! It stands out to me that this is the only one like it in the world, and Jesus has done this for Brother Copeland, this team and KCM’s Partners around the world.

Keep this encouragement in mind—DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM!

Well, here it is! It is a BLESSING to Sheila, me and the ELITE CX Leadership Team to have been a part in this great dream with you! On behalf of the team, we bless you, Brother Copeland, with this one-of-a-kind dream machine! It’s very fitting for a one-of-a-kind preaching machine like you!

KCM + YouMatter: Preventing Teen Suicide Together

KCM + YouMatter Preventing Teen Suicide Together

Dean Sikes, founder of You Matter Ministry, reaches millions of teens with a message of hope in an effort to prevent suicide.

Sadly, suicide is the third leading cause of death among people ages 10-24, but Dean knows the answer—a relationship with Jesus. Since January 1, 1993, Dean and his ministry team have traveled the country and the world teaching high school teenagers in schools that they do indeed matter to God.

“The entirety of our ministry is based on getting a young person to understand that when God made them, He did so on purpose and with purpose and for purpose,” Dean says.

He knows first-hand the need for suicide intervention. In his youth, his own mother almost ended her life. Once as a young man, the Holy Spirit spoke to Dean’s heart and impressed on him the need to call home. He did and discovered that at that moment his mother was on the verge of committing suicide. His phone call saved her life.

Dean credits Kenneth Copeland for teaching him to study the Word of God. When the Lord first spoke to him about his ministry all those years ago, Dean knew he needed to study the Word and learn how to apply it to his own life and to his ministry. He attended Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM) meetings and listened to Kenneth Copeland’s CDs and watched his DVDs. Through Kenneth Copeland, he learned how to apply the Word and rightly divide the truth.

Dean Sikes’ ministry, YouMatter, is just one of the outreaches Kenneth Copeland Ministries supports. Ten percent of every gift KCM receives is sown into other ministries around the world. It’s known as “Twice-Sown-Seed.”

Partners sow into KCM, and KCM sows into other ministries that are reaching out in unique ways that differ from its own mission. These gifts are used to help with orphanages, food outreach, prison ministries, evangelistic associations, Bible translation, teaching material and, yes, even high school students.

If you are a Partner with KCM and have given and prayed for this ministry, then you are part of every life saved through YouMatter ministries. Learn more about partnership with KCM here: https://www.kcm.org/partner
