Get the Most Out of the 2021 Southwest Believers’ Convention!

How to Get the Most Out of the 2021 SWBC

Are you attending SWBC 2021? Whether you’ll be there in person or watching from home, we’ve got everything you need to make this an unforgettable experience!

READING TIME: 6 Minutes

It’s your time and your money. It’s your life—your health, your finances and your family. That’s what’s at stake when it comes to your faith. This is no time to play around—we have an adversary on the prowl, mountains to move, and victories to take.

That’s why the 2021 Southwest Believers’ Convention (SWBC) is coming—to bring life-transforming power to every Christian.

Are you a contender?

If you are, you probably already have plans to attend SWBC 2021 in person or to watch from home. You also already know this isn’t a concert, an ordinary meeting or a television show. It’s six days of back-to-back speakers, including Kenneth Copeland, Terri Copeland Pearsons, Jerry Savelle, Jesse Duplantis, Creflo Dollar, Bill Winston and Keith Moore.

We have an agenda—a mission, if you will. And we won’t quit until we complete it!

That’s what the 2021 Southwest Believers’ Convention is all about: Getting you where you want to go in this life. We want to help you maximize your experience and leave with your victory in hand. Here is how you can get the most out of the 2021 Southwest Believers’ Convention, whether attending in person or watching at home.

1. Be There!

If you can attend SWBC 2021 in person, be there! There’s just something about it when people of faith come together in an atmosphere charged with supernatural expectancy. If there is any way for you to make last-minute plans to get here—it’s not too late! It’s completely free for your whole family to attend. Come for any or all of the sessions.

If you aren’t able to make it in person this year, you can still show up by watching on VICTORY Channel using any of the following options:

  • DISH® Channel 265
  • DIRECTV Channel 366
  • Popular streaming devices, including Roku®, Apple TV® and Amazon Fire TV
  • On the Web at kcm.orggovictory.com and YouTube®.

Whichever way you join us, just be there! You can find more information and the Speaker Schedule HERE.

Remember, you aren’t just an attendee—you ARE Kenneth Copeland Ministries. You are important to this ministry and work, and it just wouldn’t be the same without you. We consider this a special gathering of the family of faith—every generation coming together—to believe big and receive big. We want you to be a part of this with us. It’s only once a year—don’t miss it!

2. Attend or Watch as Many Sessions as Possible

Once you’ve committed to attend or watch the 2021Southwest Believers’ Convention, seek to be part of as many sessions as possible during the six days of teaching. Why is the convention six days long? Total immersion.

In World War II, the United States had a shortage of translators. We were in desperate need of people who were fluent in German and Japanese—and we needed them fast! So, the War Department created a six-week-long total immersion program. For six weeks, participants were not permitted to speak English at all. They spoke and listened to only the language they were learning. By the end of the program, they were fluent!

If you want to be fluent in the language of faith, you’ve got to do the same thing. Six days of SWBC 2021 help you keep everything that isn’t faith out, so you can immerse yourself in a faith-filled atmosphere. It may seem like a lot, but attending or watching as many sessions as possible (every session, if you’re able) will change your life!

Here are just a few of the differences you’ll see in your life:

  • You’ll find you won’t speak doubt as often (if at all!).
  • You’ll start believing for bigger and better in every area of your life.
  • You won’t tolerate sickness, debt or strife like you used to—not even a little!
  • You’ll have the endurance to go after the dreams you’ve kept tucked away, and you won’t quit until you have them in your possession.

Isn’t that worth a six-day investment of time?

Mark your calendar, take time off work, and attend or watch as many sessions as possible for a maximum return on your investment!

3. Attend or Watch With a Faith Buddy

As you seek to attend as many sessions of the 2021 Southwest Believers’ Convention as possible, try to attend or watch with a faith buddy (like a spouse or friend).

Can you attend or watch SWBC 2021 alone? Sure. But here’s where a faith buddy comes in handy:

  • You have someone to laugh at Jesse Duplantis’ stories with.
  • You have someone sitting next to you who will “Amen” in all the same places when Keith Moore is teaching.
  • You have someone with you who will encourage you to believe for your healing when Kenneth Copeland is ministering during Healing School.
  • You have someone to talk with about how powerful Bill Winston’s teaching was and what you think the Lord was speaking to you about.
  • You have someone to hold you accountable in applying the principles you’re learning.

If you’re attending the convention in person, why not call a friend and see if you can have a reunion of sorts in an atmosphere amped up on faith? If you’re watching at home, why not host a daily carry-in luncheon with a group of people from church?

This is a special time for the Body of Christ—so make it memorable!

4. Take Notes

While attending SWBC ’21 sessions, you will maximize the results in your life by taking notes. You may not be a great note taker, or even one who likes taking notes, but this tip may have a big impact on what you get out of the convention. You see, when you write things down, it reinforces what you’re hearing. It gives concepts and revelations staying power in your mind, giving them a chance to get down into your spirit. Plus, it will serve as a great reference for you when the convention is over.

Don’t worry—you don’t have to write down everything every speaker says. And you don’t have to get so caught up in note-taking that you miss enjoying just listening. Instead, try some of these tips to get the most out of your notes.

  • Bring something that is comfortable and easy to write in—a journal or a small notepad, for example. You can also use a tablet or any other device. (Just don’t get distracted by texts and emails!)
  • Don’t try to write down entire sentences. Just summarize and write down key phrases. Bullet points are your friend. (Like these!)
  • Stick to the stories (and there will be a lot of great stories!) or ideas that stand out to you most.

When the convention is over, you can use your notes as a devotional if you like. Take one session at a time and work through it, taking time to meditate on the revelations from God that were ministered through each teaching.

5. Pray Before Every Session

It’s easy to think of yourself as a spectator at a spectacular event like SWBC 2021—with so many amazing speakers, the lights, the music and the powerful, faith-filled atmosphere. However, you are every bit a participant as the speakers on the platform!

If you’re attending, you are adding your supply of faith—and that faith has the power to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit, start a chain reaction of miracles, move mountains, increase the power of the anointing, and cause a breakthrough in your life and the lives of others. The same is true if you’re watching from home.

The power of the Holy Spirit is not bound by time or distance.

So, when you pray before every session, you’re contributing your anointing and your faith to what we’re all expecting to happen. Here are some ideas about how you can pray:

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit will descend upon the convention in a powerful way.
  • Pray for the safety and anointing of the speakers.
  • Pray that God will reveal to you the unique and personalized revelation He has for you.
  • Pray that you won’t leave the same.

We invite you to be part of a powerful, corporate prayer sessions at SWBC 2021! Join Pastor Terri Copeland Pearsons for Prayer Everywhere LIVE 30 minutes before every morning and evening session.

Don’t underestimate the power of your prayers to change your life and the lives of your fellow believers!

6. Pray After Every Session

You came to the 2021 Southwest Believers’ Convention, you prayed before service, and you took notes. Now, the session is over, and you’re hungry…tacos are calling your name! That’s understandable! But before you run off to grab lunch or a coffee, take the time to pray.

It doesn’t have to be a long prayer session—it can be as simple as saying, “Lord, please reveal to me what You want me learn from this time of teaching. Bring conviction where I need it. I invite You to correct me. Help me hear Your voice and heed Your instructions. I submit my will to Yours. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

If it was a session that really ministered to you, it may require a longer time of meditation and listening to the Holy Spirit. You may also want to spend some time in prayer over the next day or two, asking the Lord to reveal more of what He wants to say.

As you keep yourself in a spirit of prayer throughout the week, you’ll find you will get more out of each session and the convention as a whole. That’s the goal, right? To see a noticeable change in your life when it’s all said and done.

7. Find Your Takeaway

When you attend or watch an event as powerful as the 2021 Southwest Believers’ Convention, you’re going to walk away with at least one thing (if not a list!) that you can implement in your life to bring a measurable change in your circumstances. That’s what you should be expecting, by the way.

Whatever your life looks like now should not be the way it looks this time next year.

So, how do you want your life to look? Think about it in advance. What are you looking for at the convention? Where are you wanting to see a change? Be specific. Write it down ahead of time. Then, go expecting to find your take-away—your assignment from God.

It might be to work on your love walk or your giving. God may be calling you to forgive someone. He may give you a new approach to your finances or reveal that last key to receiving healing. One thing is sure: He will not stay silent when it comes to you. He loves you, and He wants you to have what you desire even more than you do. Open your heart to what He has to say. Be on the lookout for your personal takeaway.

How to Be Bold as a Lion

How to Be Bold As A Lion

Do you approach life with the boldness of a lion? You have everything it takes to operate in spiritual boldness. Find out how to be bold as a lion!

Charging through the savannahs of Africa, the mighty lion is regal and fearless in his pursuit. Known as “the king of beasts,” he possesses courage and confidence that refuse to retreat from any threat or attack. With a roar that can be heard from miles away, a lion is an animal to be reckoned with. He is a symbol of fearlessness, strength and invincibility. In short, a lion is bold.

The Bible mentions the word lion 155 times in the Old Testament alone. Proverbs 30:30 (NKJV) describes the lion as “mighty among beasts, who retreats before nothing.” With such a reputation for power and might, it is no wonder God used this animal to describe the demeanor He expects from His children in Proverbs 28:1: “The wicked flee when no one is looking, but the righteous are as bold as a lion” (NKJV).

Maybe you’re reading this today and realize you haven’t been operating in spiritual boldness the way you should. Perhaps fear has been holding you back or you simply don’t know where to start. One thing you need to know today is this: Jesus didn’t die and defeat all of hell to have us quivering in the corner! He gave us dominion and all authority—but we have to operate in it! When you apply the following principles in your life, you will learn how to be bold as a lion.

1. Be Bold in Approaching God

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain….” –Hebrews 4:16 (KJV)

When you approach God in prayer, how do you show up? Are you confident or timid? Expecting to receive or just wishing and hoping? Asking or begging? Do you know you belong, or do you feel unworthy?

Why does it matter? Prayer is prayer, right? Not exactly.

The difference in how you come to the throne of God will determine whether you take possession of what you need or walk away empty-handed. Hebrews 4:16 tells us to come boldly so that we may obtain what we need. In other words, boldness is a prerequisite to receiving—because the fuel for boldness is faith.

So, where does boldness in prayer come from?

Your source of boldness is knowing who you are in Christ and what rights you have in your covenant relationship with Him. One of the rights Jesus secured for you at the cross is the right to come freely into the presence of God without condemnation, without insecurity and without the fear of not being heard.

Ephesians 3:12 says, “Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.” That means Jesus paved the way between us and the throne room of God. Fellowship with Him is part of our covenant rights, so acting unworthy is disrespecting the price Jesus paid to get you there.

Take your house, for instance. You go into your house boldly—knowing it belongs to you. You don’t hesitate. You don’t question if it belongs to you. You certainly don’t go to the back door, trembling and saying, “Oh God, this is a fine, beautiful home. Help me, now. Oh, help me, Sir, to have the faith to go into this house.”

Of course not! That house belongs to you. You aren’t sassy about it, but you live there. It’s yours. You aren’t stealing anything from God by stepping into that house with boldness, because He gave you the house.

Of course, the devil will work overtime to convince you that you aren’t worthy of boldly entering in. He doesn’t want you in there, and he certainly doesn’t want you making bold requests. But don’t let the devil trick you out of coming boldly to the throne—it’s where you belong.

Find out how Gloria Copeland prays here.

When Jesus is abiding in you and you in Him, you know He loves you. You know the Greater One lives in you. There is no fear in love—so you know He is going to take care of you. That’s where your boldness comes from.

Boldness isn’t begging, pleading, wishing or hoping—boldness is knowing. It is confidence that when you pray according to the Word in faith, and as you live in obedience to God’s Word, you will receive what you ask (1 John 3:21-22).

You have a standing invitation from your heavenly Father to come boldly and take possession of what you need. So, start praying in the Name of Jesus, according to the Word of God, and expect to receive what you ask for not just once in a while, but every time!

Jesus was bold about going to the cross. He was bold about being punished. He was bold about accepting your sin.

So be bold if for no other reason than to honor Him.

If you need something from God today, don’t waste time standing around outside heaven’s gates. Through Jesus you belong in the very throne room of God. So, come right on in. The door is always open for you.

2. Be Bold by Acting on the Word of God

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” –James 1:22 (NKJV)

Have you ever noticed that miracles most often occur among people who are bold about God? Boldness and the miraculous are so closely tied together that some people “try” to act bold just to get things to happen. Of course, it doesn’t work. Because true boldness comes from a knowing in your spirit, and boldness causes us to act on God’s Word.

People sometimes mistake bold faith for pride. It isn’t an ego trip to believe in the favor of God, to believe in His supernatural protection, to believe in His provision. There’s a difference between ego and faith. When you’re standing in boldness on the Word of God—that’s faith talking. You aren’t bragging on yourself—you’re bragging on God! You just know what’s yours.

When you know (not hope) it is God’s will—to heal you, to pay your bills, to take care of your children—you won’t hesitate and you won’t be timid. You’ll reach out and TAKE those promises. You’ll take your faith and put it into action and do it boldly!

Learn the 5 Characteristics of Bulldog Faith here.

How do you get that way?  By spending time in the Word and meditating on it until it becomes more real to you than anything else. That’s when boldness will rise up in you and you’ll start putting feet to your faith.

What does it look like to put your faith in action? If sickness is trying to come on your body, you don’t just believe for healing, you act on it. You speak to it and command it to leave in Jesus’ Name. If you haven’t been able to get out of bed, do something—anything—and start moving your feet toward the floor. If you’ve been in debt or lack and you’re believing to be free, put your faith in action. Pay even $1 on that debt in faith toward becoming debt free. You sow a seed of faith toward debt freedom. Whatever you do—do something!

One of the best ways for you to grow up and be strong and bold in faith is to begin laying hands on other people to be healed and delivered—to minister to them. There was a time in England when Jesse Duplantis was boldly ministering in the office of the prophet, and he cried out, “There’s somebody here who has a black scar right across your chest.” (You’ve got to be bold to speak out a specific word of knowledge).  He said, “It bothers you, and God wants to take it away. Come up here and He’ll do it.”

Well, no one came. But Jesse wouldn’t give up, and he kept calling for this person. Finally, the man came forward.  Now, boldness will cause you to do things you wouldn’t normally do. That’s when Jesse jerked the man’s shirt open and commanded that scar to be gone and it left—disappeared right then and there. Boldness is where the excitement is. The bolder you are, the more fun it is, and the more the power of God will manifest.

When we hesitate and are afraid of what people might think, nothing happens. So, make up your mind now to be bold—whether you want to or not.

That’s how it works, but you have to take the first step. Do what the Bible says to do— whether you feel like it or not. That’s called ACTING ON THE WORD! And that’s called FAITH!

 3. Be Bold to Resist the Devil

“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” –James 4:7 (NIV)

How does the devil see you? Does he see you as a terrifying and mighty warrior of God…or does he see you as a wimp he can whip in a minute?

The answer to that question depends on you. If you study the children of Israel and their failure to enter the Promised Land, you’ll see the key to their failure is found in these words: “And we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight” (Numbers 13:33, KJV).

The reason the Israelites were so terrified to fight the giants in Canaan wasn’t because those giants were so big. It was because the Israelites saw themselves as so small! It was what they were in their own sight that defeated them.

The same thing is true for you as a believer. It’s what you are in your own sight that will make the difference. If, in your own sight, you’re a weak, powerless Christian, the devil will run over you three or four times a day or more if he’s not busy. But when you begin to see yourself as God sees you, as a conquering son or daughter of Almighty God, equipped with the very power of God Himself, the devil will want to steer clear of you.

The devil would rather do anything than come against someone who’s bold and courageous, because he’s a coward himself. In fact, ever since Jesus came up out of that grave, Satan’s heart has melted within him at the sound of that Name in the mouth of one who has faith in it.

If you’re not strong in the Lord in your own sight, you need to change that. You need to get so full of God’s Word and so full of the Holy Ghost that you walk around like a spiritual giant. Turn the tables on the devil, and let him find out what it feels like to be a grasshopper for a change.

Jesus has already defeated the devil, and if you’re a Christian, you’ve got authority over him. You’ve got the Name and blood of Jesus at your disposal, but you have to decide to be bold and take authority over your family, over sickness and disease, over the spirit of poverty, and anything else going on in your life.

You might be the quietest, sweetest person in the whole world, but when the devil comes, don’t be nice and quiet toward him. He is an outlaw, a killer and a thief.  So, be bold in standing against him. Confront him and cast him out.

Be bold to walk into the darkness and bring the light. Be bold to reach into the jaws of hell and bring out your precious loved ones before they’re lost forever. Be bold to face the angel of death and tell him: “No you don’t. Take your hand off and bow your knee to the Name of Jesus.”

Start practicing, and you’ll get bolder and bolder. Tell Satan he can’t come into your garden, he can’t come into your body, he can’t have your children, and he can’t have your money. Rebuke him and tell him to get out in the Name of Jesus. Put him in his place—and that place is out of your sight and out of your life.

In conclusion, when you’re bold in approaching God, bold in acting on the Word of God, and bold about resisting the devil, you will be one who God describes as being bold as a lion. You don’t have to live in fear or timidity ever again. Now gird yourself up, get a spiritual roar going, and be bold as a lion!

Building a Place of Transformation for Families in Juárez, Mexico

Building a Place of Transformation for Families in Juarez

In this Q & A, discover how Sergio is building a place of transformation for families in Juarez.

“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” –Matthew 25:40 (KJV)

Sergio Alvarado knows the streets of Juárez, Mexico. He was once a product of them, a young man without purpose or a sense of belonging.

He clearly remembers the feeling of hopelessness that overshadowed his childhood and the sense of loss he felt from the absence of his parents. His father was a drug addict; his mother, a young, single woman who turned to prostitution to care for her children only to lose her life to the streets—first to alcoholism and eventually to liver disease.

Once he became a Christian and came to America, Sergio thought he had left Juárez far behind in his rearview mirror. God had delivered him from his past life and given him a new one, complete with a heart for the Lord and a supportive wife. For more than 15 years, he has worked at KCM’s headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.

Then one day, Sergio heard of a woman who was ministering to the children of Juárez. Suddenly, he was face-to-face with the Juárez he had left so many years before. The urge to visit those children who reminded him of himself at a young age wouldn’t leave him alone. It was the beginning of his journey back to his hometown—not only physically, but spiritually, too.

Sergio sensed God calling him to build a place of healing, transformation and hope for the children of Juárez and their families. Today, Centro de Fe Vida Abundante (Faith Center Abundant Life) is under construction. With the help of KCM’s Partners and Friends, Sergio’s ministry, Alvarado Ministries International (AMI), is in the process of building a church, and a center that includes a soup kitchen and educational areas in one of the poorest parts of Juárez. Once finished, the soup kitchen and its dining room will serve 160 people at a time while the church’s sanctuary will hold 300. The second floor of the main center will have rooms for Bible classes, services for kids, dormitories and more. The land surrounding the center will house educational workshops where young people will learn skills like woodworking, sewing and welding, which will allow them to provide for their own families in the future.

In March, KCM held the 2021 Juárez Victory Campaign onsite. Several Partner ministers attended, bringing the Word of God and provisions to the local people. Watch this video to see all that took place!

Sergio will tell you that building the center has not been an easy task. It’s been an uphill battle to overcome bureaucratic red tape, governmental oversite and financial need. Despite the obstacles, progress continues to be made because God is faithful. What He starts, He finishes. Glory to God!

We spoke with Sergio to hear an update on the project.

Q: What is the biggest need in Juárez?

A: There are a lot of single moms, some as young as 16-17 years old with more than one child. Ninety percent of them are illiterate because there’s no such thing as free school in Mexico. Although the government calls it free, it’s not. Students have to pay for books and other expenses. So, illiteracy is a huge issue because it affects job opportunities later on. Many of these moms start off working in manufacturing plants. The minimum wage in Juárez is about $8-9 a day, but the cost of living is extremely high. When the moms go to work, there’s often no one to take care of the kids, so they stay home by themselves. The moms eventually become overwhelmed. That’s when drug dealers and pimps prey on them, promising more money and fewer working hours. In the end, these women become hooked on alcohol or drugs. Then, the children are truly left on their own. It’s a vicious cycle that affects about 60-70% of the orphans in the area. By the time they’re 12 or 13, they’ve given up on life.

Q: How will Centro de Fe Vida Abundante address the physical needs of the people?

A: In the very beginning, I wanted to open an orphanage, but the red tape in Mexico is just incredible and so is the potential liability. It’s why most of the orphanages in Mexico are run by the government. So, we’ve adjusted our plans, and I believe it’s the direction the Lord wanted us to take. In addition to a church where they’ll hear and learn the Word of God, we’re going to feed anybody in the area who’s hungry. We’re going to teach young ladies and young men the ins and outs of marriage and how they can succeed in marriage, so there won’t be so many single families. We’ll also teach the people how to read and write. For those who are over 16 years old and don’t want to go to school, we’re going to create the jobs by founding two companies—one a clothing company, the other an ironworks company. We have welders, woodworkers and seamstresses ready to teach the students. We’ll also have a day care center, so moms can go to work and know that their kids are safe.

Q: You’ve said that this center will be “a place of transformation.” Can you explain that?

A: Transformation has to start from the inside. The spirit it has to be renewed in order for people to have the power to change, so we’re going to start with teaching them the Word of God. Initially, we’re going to open a satellite church with video teaching. I want it to be a buffet for the people, so they can receive the Word of God from different ministers and understand what God has for them. I want them to see the difference the Word makes in their lives, in their families and in their city.

Q: How can the Partners and Friends of KCM stand in faith with you?

A: The most important thing to pray for is protection because Juárez is considered one of the most dangerous cities in the world. The second is for the finances to come in, so we can finish the center. We’ve raised $150,000 of $350,000 so far. We especially need the kitchen finished. Right now, when I go, I take enough food for a family of four to eat twice a day for a whole month, so it will save a lot of money when we finish the kitchen. We’ll be able to feed them onsite. I’m also asking for wisdom and divine connections with governmental officials, so this process goes smoothly in the future.

Sergio admits that building Centro de Fe Vida Abundante is a huge undertaking that he never would have imagined he’d be a part of, but God had other plans.

“I really believe that God had us born in a place for a reason. It’s not a coincidence.” Sergio has shared those words many times with the children in Juárez, and his life certainly reflects them.

God took one of Juárez’s once lost children and brought him home decades later, saved and whole, to effect change in the lives of this generation. We stand with Sergio in faith believing for the completion of the center, and we are thanking God in advance for all the children whose lives and destinies will be transformed by this good work in Juárez!

Pray With Us! 2021 National Day of Prayer

2021 National Day of Prayer

We invite you to add your supply of faith with ours, and pray with us during one or more of our 2021 National Day of Prayer activities.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
—2 Corinthians 3:17 (NKJV)

As we prepare to collectively pray for America on the National Day of Prayer, the stakes are higher than perhaps they have ever been. Freedom and liberty have been attacked at unprecedented levels that are greater than any of us could have imagined even just a year ago. This year, it is vital for us to come together as a nation and pray.

As Pastor Terri Copeland Pearsons recently said, “There’s no hope for the nation apart from the Church. There’s no hope for the Church apart from prayer.”

Believers in Jesus Christ, the Church, are the hope of this country. James 5:16, Amplified Bible, Classic Edition, tells us that the earnest, heartfelt prayers of the righteous make tremendous power available. Kenneth Copeland’s Six I’s of Faith for Supernatural Breakthrough

Kenneth Copeland's 6 I's of Faith

Need a breakthrough in your finances, health, or family? Check out Kenneth Copeland’s Six I’s of Faith for Supernatural Breakthrough!

READING TIME: 8 MINUTES

Are you standing in faith for finances, healing, a spouse, children, a ministry or anything else? If so, you already know this: Standing in faith isn’t for the faint of heart. God knows receiving supernatural breakthroughs will test your resolve—that’s why He tells us to break out the spiritual armor, use His authority without abandon, and persevere until we break through to victory. Think about it.

Those are battle terms.

Praise God, it’s a battle Jesus has already won! We’re just claiming the victory and protecting the spoils from the enemy (who didn’t seem to get the memo that he lost!).

Kenneth Copeland has outlined a special tactic he and Gloria use in their battle strategy to get results. Whatever you’re going after in the spirit realm, here are some secrets for seeing a manifestation in your finances, health, relationships or any other area of promise. Here is how to use Kenneth Copeland’s six I’s of faith to get your supernatural breakthrough.

1. I Believe

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” –Mark 11:24 (NIV)

The first of the six I’s of faith for supernatural breakthrough is: I believe. This is a declaration of faith, and it comes from the heart—or spirit—of the born-again believer. It’s one Kenneth says you can’t do without.

Should you say “I believe” before you really believe? Yes! We call things that be not as though they were, right? But ultimately, your goal should be to build and develop your faith to a place of believing what God says above what your circumstances say—even if those circumstances are screaming at the top of their lungs.

When do you believe it?

Before it comes to pass. That’s real faith. “I’ll believe it when I see it” is nothing more than skepticism fueled by doubt. That’s dangerous because a double-minded man receives nothing from God (James 1:7-8); so don’t say you believe, then turn and talk the problem or the absence of the solution. Put your hand right over your mouth if you have to!

When you start hearing Satan whisper at you, “You’ll never get what you want. It’s too late. Just accept things as they are,” that’s when you turn the tables on him. That’s what Jesus did when He was tempted in the wilderness, and the devil took off pretty quickly.

Jesus took authority over the devil and over His situation by speaking the Word. That’s what you need to do, too, when you need a supernatural breakthrough. Whatever you’re believing for, if it is in God’s Word, you have the answer. Speak it out!

The more you do, the more you’ll be able to say with complete confidence—“I believe.”

Watch Kenneth and Gloria Copeland teach you how to start believing when you pray.

2. I Will

“If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” –Isaiah 1:19 (ESV)

Believing is only the beginning. To get your supernatural breakthrough, you also need to make a decision and say the second I of faith, I will. This declaration brings your will in line with your faith. It’s deciding to take a stand to break through every hindrance—and win.

When you say, “I will,” you’re saying, “I will have faith in God. I will believe His Word. I will pursue faith and receive every promise He has for me. I will refuse to give up until I see my supernatural breakthrough.”

It’s the epitome of a willing heart. That may sound simple, but so many Christians aren’t willing to do what it takes to receive by faith. They’d rather blame God for whatever is wrong or missing—saying, “Well, it must not be God’s will.”

Not so!

He created us for fellowship with Him—for relationship. And a healthy relationship can’t exist without free will. That means we have a part to play in it. Everything that happens is not necessarily God’s will; otherwise, everyone on the planet would be saved. God doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent (2 Peter 3:9).

When you’re willing to do what it takes to activate your faith—you will have what you’re standing for.

Are you willing?

Are you willing to renew your mind continually with the Word of God? Are you willing to leave behind old habits and anything that hinders you? Are you willing to seek counsel from mature believers and then receive what they say, rather than reject it? Are you willing to make adjustments in your thinking and living?

If so, say, “I will.”

3. I Take It

“Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” –Mark 11:24 (NIV)

You believe and you have a willing heart. Now, it’s time to take your first action step with the third I of faith: I take it. Mark 11:24 tells us that when we pray, we should expect to receive. But some Christians pray, believe and then kick back in their recliners waiting for the manifestation to drop in their laps. That’s not what Jesus is telling us to do.

If we zoom in on one word in this verse, we find an important clue.

The Greek word translated receive in Mark 11:24 is lambano, which means “to take with the hand, lay hold of,” or “to take in order to carry away.” You can take faith because Jesus is offering it to you! And you use that faith to take those things you know are yours according to His Word.

Learn A Foolproof Strategy for Developing Fearless Faith HERE.

For example, faith will heal your body. It will straighten out your children. It will cause your finances to flourish. Faith will remove limitations and conquer anything the world can throw at you because, as 1 John 5:4 says, “This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (KJV).

It’s no wonder God said:

As far as God is concerned, faith isn’t an a la carte situation—it’s all or nothing.

Why? Because we don’t receive as He wants us to without faith…and our receiving is extremely important to Him! After all, He sent Jesus to the cross to take upon Himself the whole curse—every sickness, every disease, all poverty and every other kind of defeat—so that we could be BLESSED.

He paid the price of His own blood to purchase our salvation, our deliverance, our healing and our prosperity. He sacrificed His own Son to provide us with abundant life—and the only way for us to fully receive it is by faith!

So, anyone can just “leave it up to God,” but they will miss out on a lot because that’s not the way He designed things to work. As one preacher says, “We can’t leave up to God what He has left up to us.” And He gave us the responsibility of receiving His BLESSINGS by faith. When you see a promise in the Word, don’t hesitate; contend for your supernatural breakthrough, and say, “I take it!”

4. I Have It

“Whoever…does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.” –Mark 11:23 (NASB)

Once you take it in the spirit realm, you won’t see it in the natural realm yet. That’s what this next I of faith, I have it, is all about. It’s the power of have. That’s what you’re seeking, isn’t it? To have the things you need and desire. The definition of the English word have is “to possess, to own.” That’s easy to understand in the natural: When you hold the deed to some property in your hand—you really know you have it!

It becomes something entirely different when you need to have something by faith. That’s why you’ve got to be so careful about what you say you have. Mark 11:23 says you’ll have what you say. What are you saying? Consider some of these common errors in speaking:

  • “I have a cold.”
  • “We’re having financial trouble.”
  • “I’ll never have a strong marriage.”
  • “I have crazy, rebellious children.”

If you find yourself saying these things, why are you talking like that? Your words can get you into a lot of trouble by canceling out the will and testament of the Lord Jesus Christ that makes you an heir to His promises.

Instead, say these things:

  • “I don’t have sickness. Sickness is part of the curse, and Jesus has redeemed me. I have healing.”
  • “I have provision and financial blessing.”
  • “I have good health.”
  • “I have strong relationships.”
  • “I have children who love and honor the Lord.”

Whatever supernatural breakthrough you need, whatever you’re believing for—say it out loud—“I have it!”

Once you believe, don’t toil for it—stand in faith with these 5 Ways to Let THE BLESSING Do the Work.

5. I Thank You for It

“By prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” –Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

The next I of faith for supernatural breakthrough is: I thank You for it!

Think about this: When we pray, we come into God’s presence. But when we praise, He comes into ours!

Kenneth Copeland has said it time and again: “Praise is the big gun of faith.” In so many cases, personal praise is the missing element to crossing from believing to receiving. If you’re believing for healing, once you go through the healing scriptures in the Old and New Testaments, begin to praise and thank our heavenly Father who sent Jesus to the cross. Praise Him for healing you!

“Oh, thank You, Jesus, for bearing my sins in Your own body on the tree. By Your stripes I was, and I am, healed!”

Praise Him! Thank Him! When you can’t sleep because of pain, praise Him. When you start to worry about finances, praise Him. When you’re facing the pain of loneliness or the desire for family, praise Him.

In that place of praise and worship, great victories are won.

You don’t have to stand alone! Kenneth and Gloria Copeland stand in faith with their Partners for breakthrough every day. Join this powerful bunch HERE!

Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. And praise is the greatest demonstration of that faith!

6. I Forgive

“Faith…worketh by love” –Galatians 5:6 (KJV)

The last I of faith for supernatural breakthrough is: I forgive. This declaration is listed last but is the most important of all. In fact, the five other I’s of faith are dependent on it. That’s because faith will not work in an unforgiving heart.

Here’s why:

  • Unforgiveness blocks your own forgiveness (Mark 11:25).
  • Unforgiveness takes you out of the love walk. (Faith won’t work without love.)
  • Unforgiveness is a prayer blocker.
  • Unforgiveness is disobedience.

If you said right off, “I don’t have anyone to forgive,” it’s a sure sign you do. No matter where you are in life, it takes time to stop, think and ask the Lord to bring to your remembrance anyone you have anything against. It isn’t always some colossal offense. It could be as simple as a remark the checker at the grocery store made. It could even be that you haven’t forgiven yourself. (That counts, too!)

The devil will try to keep you in unforgiveness so you will continue going ’round and ’round the same mountain WITHOUT YOUR BLESSING. Don’t let him get away with it! Forgive—quickly—and watch how fast your supernatural breakthrough appears.

That, friend, is how to use Kenneth Copeland’s 6 I’s of faith to get your supernatural breakthrough—one you may have been believing for weeks, months, years or even decades. When Jesus offers you something—any promise you find in His Word—your response should always be the same: I believe. I will. I take it. I have it. I praise You for it, and I forgive. That’s faith. It’s the victory that overcomes the world!

Tell us in the comments below…What are you standing for today? How can you put these six I’s of faith into practice for your supernatural breakthrough?

Is Your Faith Real? 5 Ways to Examine Your Faith

Is Your Faith Real? Examine Your Faith

Is your faith real or are you pretending? Discover the answer using these 5 ways to examine your faith. You can start living by real faith today!

Whatever you need today, faith is the answer. There is nothing God hasn’t provided or won’t provide for you in this life, and faith is the key that unlocks the door. That’s why it is so important to your spiritual life. Faith pleases God (Hebrews 11:16). It’s how you received salvation. It’s power that brings signs, miracles, wonders and manifestations of His promises. The Lord is looking for people with faith to show Himself strong to (2 Chronicles 16:9, NKJV).

Faith will change your life.

If you need a manifestation of God’s power in your life today, but haven’t seen it yet, faith is the answer. Mark 11:22 says, “Have faith in God.” You might say, “I don’t feel like I have faith.” The faith we have didn’t originate with us. God gave us a measure of His own faith (Romans 12:3). That means you have a measure of what created the universe in you. When you look at the night sky, the sun shining, the birds in the air, you have to remind yourself, “I have a measure of the faith that made those things inside of me.”

You just have to learn how to use it.

Keith Moore has said, “Faith is not a movement. Faith is not a group. Faith is not a doctrine. Faith is how God Himself functions and it’s how He told us to function and live.”

At the 2018 Southwest Believers’ Convention, Keith Moore called believers to a higher level, challenging us to discover the truth behind one pressing question—how do you know if your faith is real or if you’re pretending?

Second Corinthians 13:5 says, “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves” (NKJV). Does that mean faith isn’t always what it appears to be? Apparently so, because in 2 Timothy 1:5, Paul tells Timothy that he recognizes his “unfeigned faith.” To feign means to fake, and Paul is saying here that he knows Timothy’s faith is unfeigned, or genuine, rather than fake. That is why we are called to examine ourselves—to take an honest look at the state of our faith, so we can make adjustments and get on to victory!

Is your faith real? Here are 5 ways to examine your faith.

1. Do You Overuse This Phrase?

We, in the Word of Faith circle, understand the power of our words. We know we will have what we say (Mark 11:23), so we are careful to speak only right words and refrain from speaking words against the desired outcome. In doing so, we have come to a place where many times we are misusing and overusing the phrase, “I’m believing.”

We say, “I’m believing God for this. I’m believing God for that.” But oftentimes, what we’re really doing is substituting the word believing for wishing or wanting. You see, just because you need or want something, doesn’t mean you’re believing. Or as Keith Moore says, “Don’t assume that because you’re saying you’re believing, you really are believing.”

If you’re trying to convince yourself to have faith by saying this, it won’t work. Saying “I’m believing” is not how faith comes. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God—not hearing yourself say, “I believe.” That’s why it is important to fill up on the Word of God every day by reading it and listening to teachings. But there is a big difference between having heard and hearing. Revelation comes from allowing and expecting the Word of God to be quickened to your spirit and change you on the inside.

So, when 2 Corinthians 13:5 says, “Examine yourselves,” we begin here. Next time you hear yourself say, “I’m believing,” pause a moment and examine yourself. Am I really believing? If not, wait. Wait for what? For faith to come. Keep renewing your mind and building your faith until you feel it and know it’s there—faith boiling over. Then, and only then, is the time to say, “I’m believing.”

That’s why Keith Moore says about your words, “If you’ll be more selective, you’ll be more effective.”

Watch Keith Moore teach at the 2018 Southwest Believers’ Convention about how you can move from “pretend” faith to fully persuaded faith that gets results!

2. What Are You Standing On?

When you say, “I’m believing,” the next question to ask is: based on what?

Real faith has a real foundation. And that foundation is that you have heard from God about your situation either in His Word or by His speaking to your spirit. If you are standing on a scripture, it must be one that has been quickened to your spirit and within the context of all other scripture.

Keith Moore shares a story about a young student who was attending Rhema Bible College years ago when Brother Kenneth Hagin Sr. was frequently on campus. Brother Hagin drove a Bronco truck at the time, and this young man decided he wanted to believe for Kenneth Hagin’s Bronco. He decided to stand on Mark 11:23 that says you can have whatever you say, and Mark 9:23 (NKJV), “All things are possible to him who believes.”

The problem was that he was pulling scripture to stand on without considering the Bible as a whole. Second Timothy 1:5 tells us that we are to rightly divide the Word of God, which means to handle it correctly and consider every verse in context, and against the other verses in the Bible.

That’s why it is important to also consider 1 John 5:14 (NKJV), which says, “If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” Well, not everything is His will. Before you take a stand on the Word of God, be sure what you’re believing for is actually His will for you. (By the way, the young man didn’t get Kenneth Hagin’s Bronco. Kenneth Hagin continued to drive it for years!)

Faith that is built on a solid foundation comes when you have heard from God. How do you hear from Him? The more time you spend in the Word of God, the quicker you will recognize His voice. Whatever you need to believe for today, there is a word in season for you, and if you’ll have ears to hear, the Holy Spirit will quicken it to you. Having heard from Him will build your faith and increase your expectancy.

For example, you could say, “I’m believing Keith Moore is going to come mow my grass and babysit my kids.” But that is only possible if Keith Moore told you that. You can’t have faith that he’ll do that unless you heard him tell you he would.

The same is true with God.

Some situations are clear from the Word of God, but in many cases, you need to hear from Him before you take a faith stand and start believing Him to perform miracles. So many people end up disappointed because they made a decision to stand on a particular scripture without ever having heard from God. Then, when it didn’t come to pass, it weakened their faith, and they don’t understand why God didn’t move.

Spend time in the Word; spend time praying in the spirit. Expect to hear from God, and don’t take a faith stand until you do.

 3. Are You Praying When You Should Be Saying?

Mark 11:23-24. You’ve heard it again and again, but has it become revelation to you? Faith doesn’t come from head knowledge. You could memorize every scripture in the Bible and still have no revelation. But if you read the Word of God as if it is life-changing, you’ll get revelation. Keith Moore defines revelation as “when the Spirit of God reaches inside you and turns on the light.” That is how you can get fresh meaning out of a verse you’ve read dozens of times before.

With that in mind, let’s look at Mark 11:23-24 with an expectant heart: “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

Here is something very important to take note of—this scripture is not referring to prayer. It is an instruction directly from Jesus to us to speak to the mountain. He didn’t say, “Beg God to move the mountain.” He said you speak to the mountain.

In your situation, in your need, in your desire—examine yourself—are you praying when you should be saying?

There is tremendous power in saying. Jesus spoke to the wind, trees and even fevers. When Peter’s mother-in-law had a fever, Jesus came and rebuked it (Luke 4:38-40). He didn’t pray or ask the Father to make the fever leave. He spoke directly to the fever using the same authority He has given to us (Luke 10:19).

Your mountain can hear you. Use your faith, use your authority and start saying!

Don’t get used to sickness, lack or strife. Don’t accommodate it and allow it to stay. And don’t blame God and say, “Well, God, I’ve asked You to make this go away. Why won’t You help me?”

Prayer is powerful, and it has an important place in the life of a born-again Christian. So, how do you know when you should be saying instead of praying? When you pray the two prayers God can’t answer:

  1. Asking God to do something He’s already done.
  2. Asking Him to do what He told you to do.

In these two cases, He has said that you must speak, and you must believe. What must you believe? He said you must believe what you say (Mark 11:23). If you tell lies sometimes, you might have a hard time believing what you say because you know in your heart that sometimes you speak the truth and sometimes you don’t. Telling a lie, even only occasionally, undermines your ability to operate in faith because you have to believe what you say. You cannot waver.

Real faith will speak and believe what it speaks.

Watch as Keith Moore dives deeper into examining your faith to see if it really is genuine.

4. Do You Get Results?

“Real faith in a real God gets real results every time.” That is one of the indicators of real faith, according to Keith Moore. There is no such thing as a faith failure because faith works every time. Manifestations aren’t always instantaneous—there are times when patience needs to have its perfect work (James 1:4). But faith will always bring results because faith never fails.

Real faith doesn’t get frustrated. If you’re frustrated with your situation or frustrated with how long it is taking to see a manifestation—you’re not in faith. You believe you receive when you pray—not when it comes to pass.

Real faith is expecting—expecting God to work miracles, expecting to see manifestations of the Holy Spirit. How can you tell if you’re expecting? Excitement. If you have no excitement, you’re not in faith because you’re waiting for something to excite you.

He said, “You can ask for anything in my name and I will do it,” (John 14:13). So, examine your faith—Did you ask Him? Is it His will? Then be expecting. Faith is full of anticipation.

That’s the key to seeing miracles in your life—expectancy. If you’re expecting, you will see results. God is always ready to do a miracle.

Find 3 Steps to a Miracle here.

5. Are You Acting On Your Faith?

If you are operating in real, genuine faith—you will act on that faith. James 2:17 says, “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (NKJV). In other words, real faith has corresponding action—it does something.

What does acting on your faith look like?

Some people know they need to take action, so they go out and randomly do something and it doesn’t work. That’s because the action we take should be based on what God has told us to do. You cannot successfully operate faith principles apart from being led by the Spirit. That’s why Jesus said, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7, NKJV). He will direct you when it comes to acting on your faith.

In John 2, on the occasion of the first miracle, we see this principle in action when they lacked wine at a wedding. Jesus’ mother asked Him to get involved in the situation and then told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you” (John 2:5). When they paid attention, He gave a specific instruction to “fill the jars with water” (verse 7).

With many of the miracles that occurred in the Bible, Jesus gave specific instructions that led to a manifestation. So, if you’re needing a miracle in your life, be willing to act on your faith, and “do whatever He tells you.”

When you use these 5 ways to examine your faith, you will be able to answer the question: Is your faith real? Keep this question in your mind, and meditate on it in your heart. Begin to call yourself to a higher level—be willing to be real with yourself and make adjustments where needed. Then, put your real faith to work and get the results you’ve always wanted!

Is Confrontation Love? Ministry Minute

Is Confrontation Love

Is it wrong to confront a Christian who is not living according to the Bible? Is confrontation love? In this Ministry Minute, Jesse Duplantis gives us some insight.

Is confrontation love, and if so, how do you confront in love? And what does confronting in love look like for Christian believers? In this Ministry Minute video, Jesse Duplantis answers these questions.

While it may be easy to overlook or ignore sin in another’s life, as Christian believers we must hold ourselves to a higher standard. We should confront gently with the goal of leading that person to a place of restoration.

Galatians 6:1 confirms this: “Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.”

This is how we confront in love and reflects the true definition of love that God outlined through the Apostle Paul in Paul’s letter to the church at Corinth: “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).

How do we confront in love? We confront in love with humility and patience, not judgment or condemnation. Hopefully, the people we confront will receive the correction and change their ways. Even if they don’t, we have done our part by speaking truth to them. And of course, we can pray the prayer of faith over them so that their life reflects God’s work in their lives.

5 Surprising Health Benefits of Laughter for Your Spirit, Soul and Body

5 Surprising Health Benefits of Laughter

Is good health as easy as doing jumping jacks while watching a comedy? Science finally caught up with the Bible, revealing these surprising health benefits of laughter for your spirit, soul and body.

READING TIME:   7 MINUTES

When was the last time you had a really good laugh? Not just a small chuckle or a controlled and proper “haha” on the phone, but an all-out, ab-tensing, snort-inducing, sigh-following belly laugh?

Life can be serious sometimes. Bills, health or family concerns, and stressors from work don’t exactly induce roaring laughter. But just like exercise, laughter is amazingly good for your health and, more importantly, it’s a decision.

The Bible tells us, and now science confirms it—a merry heart does good like medicine—spirit, soul and body (Proverbs 17:22). Kenneth Copeland recently sat down with renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Avery Jackson, for a powerful discussion about the effects of laughter on the health of your spirit, soul and body. Dr. Jackson shared how recent research proves that laughter, in conjunction with exercise, will repair your body far beyond anything you can do in the natural.

God’s prescription for health? It includes laughter!

Dr. Jackson says, “God built in mechanisms to heal our imperfect, earthly bodies. Laughter is one of them.”

The good news is that you can make a decision to laugh every day, and as you do, you will rake in these five surprising health benefits of laughter for your spirit, soul and body.

1. Laughter Increases Blood Flow

Maybe you didn’t realize it, but the last time you had a really good laugh—perhaps at a good friend’s joke, a funny television show, or one of those cat videos on YouTube®—you were getting healthier!

Dr. Jackson says that laughter improves your blood flow, which in turn reduces your stress hormones, lowers your blood pressure and activates your immune system. That’s why Proverbs 17:22 (NKJV) says, “A merry heart does good, like medicine.”

This is critical because, according to Dr. Jackson, poor blood flow is the root cause of many diseases. It increases inflammation, which Dr. Don Colbert confirms is the root cause of all major diseases.

Exercise is also a key element in ensuring healthy blood flow. That’s key for people who work sitting or standing for six to eight hours each day. When you exercise and laugh, you are increasing blood flow to the brain—facilitating God’s healing mechanism and preventing disease. It can also repair or prevent neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s. We were made to move and be joyful!

Young children, on average, have 300 good belly laughs each day. A typical adult, on the other hand, only experiences 10 per week! Of course, adults have much more to think about and a great deal more responsibility, but the health benefits of laughter are too great to ignore.

Laughter is so important to your health and blood flow, you even get benefits if it’s a put-on laugh. That’s why Dr. Jackson forces himself to laugh many times throughout the day—even if he doesn’t feel like it.

He says, “If you start laughing, even when you don’t want to, it won’t be long until you’re laughing out loud at how funny you sound.”

While both sincere and fake laughter have amazing health benefits, what is even more impressive is how much your body benefits just from anticipating laughter. Studies show that stress hormones like adrenaline and epinephrine drop 70% just from anticipating a good laugh, while mood-elevating hormones called endorphins get a boost.

If you want to live in divine health—spirit, soul, and body—get your body moving and get your daily belly laughs!

2. Laughter Reduces Pain

Hand in hand with blood flow is the issue of pain. There is an opioid epidemic in this nation because people are seeking relief from pain, then being given highly addictive prescription painkillers. But God has a better way.

Though pain relief is often necessary, God has His own prescription for pain. Exercise—which acts as a natural painkiller—and laughter. Both work in the same way as a prescription or over-the-counter painkiller in the way they chemically affect the cell receptors in your brain and body. That’s God’s amazing design!

According to Dr. Jackson, God made the naturally occurring hormone dopamine to relieve pain. We can increase our dopamine levels through both exercise and laughter, and reduce pain naturally. An article in the New England Medical Journal found that 10 minutes of belly laughter relieved pain for up to two hours!

It can be the opposite of what you feel like doing when you’re in pain, but if you focus on getting yourself to exercise or laugh, in combination with speaking the Word of God and standing on His Word for healing, you can take control over what may seem like an out-of-control situation.

This truth changed the life of a man who had been sent home with a terminal condition. He knew the Bible says a merry heart does good, like medicine. He determined that he needed to get some laughter in his life. So, he spent hours every day watching episodes of I Love Lucy, laughing and laughing and laughing. That man recovered!

Yes, standing on the Word of God for healing is first and foremost, but adding exercise and laughter to your routine is clearly beneficial.

3. Laughter Prevents Disease

It’s easy to see why the joy of the Lord is not just the strength of your spirit, it’s the strength of your mind and body, too. The Bible tells us to “count it all joy” (James 1:2, NKJV) in every circumstance for our own physical, mental and spiritual protection.

As you may have guessed, laughing once in a while isn’t going to cut it. You’ve got to make laughter a regular part of your life—just like exercise.

How can you get your daily laughter in?

In his book, The God Prescription, Dr. Avery Jackson prescribes the following:

  1. Laugh, even when you don’t feel like it.
  2. Watch or listen to shows by comedians who do not use obscenities, like The Carol Burnett Show or Christian comedian Tim Hawkins.
  3. Read comics in the newspaper.
  4. Watch funny videos on YouTube®, such as the eTrade babies or videos showing the hilarious antics of children and animals.

4. Laughter Improves Emotional Health

While laughter is effective at preventing disease, it also reduces stress, which is a major player among the causes of disease. Research has found that emotional health is strongly connected to physical health because, as Dr. Jackson explains, “Emotional issues affect how we see the world, which will, in turn, impact our bodies and emotions.”

Part of our emotional health comes from how we process past circumstances. Dr. Jackson says when one experiences emotional trauma as a child, it often leads to chronic pain and depression in adulthood because there is a direct correlation between what happened to that person and how he or she perceives the world as an adult.

Without the help of the Lord, those traumas can cause people to see things flipped around and not in the light of the truth of God’s Word. The only way to make all things new and move into emotional health is through the Lord Jesus Christ. His joy is our strength, and it, along with the other fruit of the spirit, is imparted to us when we become born again.

Joy is a big part of pushing the reset button on emotional trauma. But you have to operate it by faith.

One way to do so is through laughter.

When you choose to laugh, you choose the joy of the Lord, and that decision positively affects your spirit, soul and body. It’s who you are really meant to be in Christ.

Laughter is a factor of emotional healing. Whenever you start to feel sad, despondent or depressed, make yourself laugh. Remember, your body doesn’t know whether you are laughing spontaneously or are forcing yourself to laugh. The benefit is the same either way!

Dr. Jackson recommends combining laughter with physical and spiritual exercise. He likes to dance in the spirit or pray in the spirit while doing other physical exercises. Then, he works to get in as many belly laughs each day as possible. “When you do,” he says, “you obey God by making Him your joy and refusing to take on the stress of the world.”

5. Laughter Strengthens Your Spirit

Dr. Avery Jackson’s research on laughter, as well as Kenneth Hagin’s revelation on laughing at the devil, has inspired Kenneth Copeland to teach others the importance of laughter in strengthening your spirit. If you’ve attended a KCM event or heard Kenneth speak, you’ve likely enjoyed the benefit of his leading a group laugh session!

Watch one here:

Nehemiah 8:10 says the joy of the Lord is our strength—spirit, soul and body. Dr. Jackson adds, “There is an anointing that comes from joy that strengthens you when there is no strength.”

Laughing from an overflow of joy in the Spirit has tremendous spiritual benefit. When you laugh, you defy the devil’s ability to bring sadness, fear or despair into your life. You laugh at his lack of authority. Instead of dreading the future, you will “laugh at the days to come” (Proverbs 31:25).

Dr. Jackson says, “The best source of laughter is overflowing joy that comes from an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Kenneth E. Hagin knew this truth and once used it to laugh at the devil until his heart symptoms disappeared. One night, he was experiencing heart symptoms, and up out of his spirit came laughter. As he laughed, the devil asked, “What are you laughing at?”

Brother Hagin said, “I’m laughing at you because you said I’d never get my healing.”

He kept laughing by faith until he laughed those symptoms right out of his body. That’s the joy of the Lord and the power of laughter to strengthen your spirit!

Kenneth Copeland says, “The Bible says the Lord sits in the heavens and laughs at the devil (Psalm 2:4). So go ahead, laugh. God is. We should, too. But do it expecting until your financial enemies, family’s enemies or physical enemies are made your footstool.”

These five surprising benefits of laughter are worth laughing about! The best part? Laughter is free, easy, fun and without side effects. Take the Bible’s advice and spend time developing a merry heart. Find things that make you laugh and include them in your everyday life. You can laugh yourself healthy—spirit, soul and body!

Bringing Hope to Juarez, Mexico

Bringing Hope to Juarez

KCM has partnered with Alvarado Ministries International to build a soup kitchen, church and orphanage in one of the poorest parts of Juarez.

This year, Oct. 16-18, 2020, Kenneth Copeland Ministries held the Juárez Victory Campaign in the city of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. This event hosted by Alvarado Ministries International (AMI) brought the Word of God along with food and provisions to local children and their families. The three-day time of ministry also celebrated the progress made on the grounds of AMI’s future church and ministry center, Centro de Fe Vida Abundante (Faith Center Abundant Life).

This area is prime for the message and move of God. Ciudad Juárez, often referred to simply as Juárez, is the largest city in the Mexican state of Chihuahua and sits right across the U.S.-Mexico border from El Paso. Over 1.5 million residents live in and around Juárez. Along with El Paso, it is the second largest dual-national metroplex on the U.S.’s southern border, right behind San Diego-Tijuana.

Poverty is a very real concern for those living in Juárez. Seventy percent of the population lives below the poverty line. It’s in this area that Sergio Alvarado, founder of AMI, grew up. He knows firsthand the difference a relationship with God can make. Sergio credits God for saving him from extreme poverty and a life of drugs, so he could bring the hope of God’s love to this city.

With the help of KCM’s Partners and Friends, AMI is in the process of building a church and center that include a soup kitchen, orphanage and educational areas in one of the poorest parts of Juárez. Once finished, the soup kitchen and its dining room will serve 160 people at a time while the church’s sanctuary will hold 300. The second floor of the main center will have rooms for Bible classes, services for kids, dormitories and more. The land surrounding the center will hold educational workshops where young people will learn skills like woodworking, sewing and welding, which will allow them to provide for their own families in the future.

Construction at the center is still in progress with only 30% of the buildings complete, but that didn’t stop the hands-on ministry that took place during the Juárez Victory Campaign. Sixteen people, including several pastors, traveled from the U.S., and another 10 volunteers came from Juárez to love on the children and their families. During the three-day event, 1400 people received nourishing meals. More than 500 people—adults and children—received new shoes, and volunteers handed out more than 600 toys.

Sergio and his staff are standing in faith for the remainder of the finances to come in to finish the ministry center debt free. He’s quick to point out that the center will not be a feeding program. It will, instead, be a place of transformation, where children and their families will receive a fresh start—spiritually, emotionally and physically.

“This is where lives are going to be transformed,” he says. “It’s all about the kids because we want to reach this generation right here.”

And to the children who attended the Juárez Victory Campaign, he made this declaration: “Your life is about to be transformed. Things will never be the same. It’s only through faith in God. You look like God because He is your Father, and He loves you.”

A special thank-you goes to all the KCM Partners who demonstrate that #MinistryMatters by supporting the work being done to take the gospel all around the world. Because you pray and because you give, you are making Alvarado Ministries International’s center possible!
